And rye toast for both and we still need coffee!! Oh so sorry she said. Well she got eggs to us. No toast. Had to ask for eating utensils. And toast and coffee!! That being said, we saw this cute little place and decided to give it a try, WOW glad we did. We were greeted with a warm smile and a very big good morning by the very accommodating young man. He (didn't get his name) promptly took our drink order as we looked over the menu. We ordered and the food was brought to us quickly and steaming hot!! Steaming hot is always a +++. The kitchen is open and you can watch the chef (Robert-owner) prepare the food. It was just breakfast but the eggs were done perfectly and the home fries are delicious. We were told that the chef has his very own secret seasoning blend for the potatoes and boy it's a good one. Our waiter came over 2 times to check on us and even filled a to go cup with water for me as we were traveling-so accommodating. This place is not to be missed-trust me! I'm a food snob!!! read more

Cute, local, traditional little cafe off the beaten path in the parking lot of a motel. If you want to avoid the mainstream, overpriced breakfasts at AC hotels, you could check this place out, as it's on the total opposite end of the spectrum. There are only a few tables, so you may have to wait for seats, but we got lucky. I got black coffee, which was $1.50 and was a huge portion in a big old mug. It wasn't bitter, so it was okay that they didn't have almond or soy milk. I also got the veggie omelette, which is made with three eggs. Hello, protein! It had a decent amount of veggies, but it did need a lot of hot sauce, because it didn't have that much taste. It also came with potatoes and toast, but they allowed the potatoes to be substituted for fruit. I appreciated that. Service was quick and friendly. AMAZING SERVICE, GREAT FOOD!! So sweet, looks like a hole in the wall, but inside it's perfect. The people that work there are literally such a joy! What a great find. Such a wonderful cozy spot for breakfast. Our waitress Naria, was super friendly and attentive. The chef was also pretty cool. The food did not disappoint. My party was starving so we ordered a lot of food. The pancakes were fluffy and just absolutely yum. French toast was good but I recommend the pancakes. Home fries, eggs, toast, bacon. Just yum. What a hidden gem! We found this cafe a little off the beaten track traveling from Atlantic City. It's not a big place, but cozy and welcoming. Staff were friendly and service was great. Found this little gem and came here with my hubs, Aunt and Uncle and the food was great! My hubs got the special which was sausage gravy over biscuits and he added two over easy eggs on top of them. Smiles are a winning element in this very "cute" diner that might squeeze 30 inside on a thin person day. They have a few patio tables outside next to a fountain on comfy days, which is not a good description of a summer day in South Jersey. The regular menu is ok but on each visit the SPECIALS BOARD is what brought treasures to the table. That chef in the white hat knows how to work her grill and fry pans. Omelets are stuffed and layered. It's a breakfast eater's delight. The potatoes can be blessed with some peppers and onions creating a really tasty home fry blend to complete the plate. Coffee is ready when you need it but their mugs seem extra deep so the need is lessened. This has become my go to breakfast stop at the shore. The owner is usually in to say hi. Food very mediocre. Starting out I asked for hot tea which was Lipton tea bag. My son asked for hot chocolate and got hot water and, what was clearly, a package of hot chocolate mix. I had a short stack of French toast with bananas, blueberries, and strawberries. I asked, specifically, if the fruit was fresh, and was told yes. Perhaps the blueberries were fresh when it was frozen, but certainly not fresh when wrinkly on my plate. My son asked for a sausage and cheese omelette. Very little sausage. My husband had the Philly omelet..just okay. We asked for dry rye and it came with plenty of butter. We asked for crispy potatoes and mushy, at best, didn't even appear to be an attempt to get them crispy. I ordered crispy bacon and finally the waitress came back when I had a few bites left of my breakfast and my husband reminded the waitress. A Must-Stop On the Way Home From AC!! We did a quick date (over)night at Harrah's this past weekend and wanted to get breakfast before heading home. The options in the hotel were underwhelming and overpriced. So we took to Google to find somewhere else that was on Route 30 where we could stop on the way to the GSP. The Cracked Egg Cafe came up on the map and even though it was little ways off Route 30, the photos were all drool-worthy so I showed my wife and away we went! We were pleasantly surprised at the charm of this small place. There are (currently) only three tables inside to eat at, but I imagine when the weather's nicer and there's no pandemic there are more and outdoor options. But we only waited a few minutes on this particular dreary Sunday morning. We were greeted by a very kind and pleasant server, whose name I did not catch, who made sure we (and everyone else inside) had everything we needed. My wife had the croissant sandwich and I had the full stack of french toast - both were OUTSTANDING!! Way better than anything mass-produced that we were gonna get at the casino. We both ate every last bite. The cook was also interacting with us customers from behind the counter where the grill is - making sure everyone was happy and well fed. And our entire meal cost just over $20 after tax - a total bargain!! Overall, the charm this little "off the beaten path" kind of place had was off the charts. We will absolutely be returning for breakfast (or maybe lunch) the next time we come down to AC! COVID Notes: As mentioned above, there are only three tables inside - each of which seats 4 - and no counter seating right now. It appeared that in nicer weather that they offer outdoor seating too, as the tables and chairs were folded up and stored outside. Decided to give this place another try and as you can see by my rating it was less impressive than the last time for a couple of reasons. I do have to say that the people working there are very nice, however it doesn't make up for everything else. Very ordinary breakfast menu with limited omelette and pancake selections and no Eggs Benedict. I ordered one of the specials on the board which was 2 eggs scrambled with cheese, potatoes (onions/peppers added) and toast. After thinking about it, the special cost more than a 3 egg omelette with cheese, potatoes, and toast. The eggs were cooked fine, nothing special. The potatoes were lackluster so I added hot sauce to try to make them better. The toast was fine. Not sure why they charged more for the special, but it was over priced. my girlfriend and i just finished eating and it was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! We sat right in front of the grill at the bar and the chef was very friendly and made conversation with us on how we wanted our food the whole time. My girlfriend and i shared a Belgian waffle and i ordered French toast along with the special my girlfriend ordered which was cream chipped beef. NEVER had better breakfast in my life!! The French toast was a perfect consistency, not too soft or hard. The Belgian waffle was perfectly cooked topped with their delicious home made syrup. Fruit was fresh, all plates and silverware were clean, and our server and all staff were incredibly hospitable.
