Went yesterday for breakfast and the service was great but the food was so-so towards inedible. Ordered eggs over medium and got eggs slightly more cooked than soft boiled. I hate that disgusting white goo with under cooked fried eggs. I should have done what I always do eating eggs out and order them scrambled almost no one pays attention to the request eggs over MEDIUM. The crazy thing was the home fries were burned? The grill was obviously too hot and the cook only allowed the eggs to rest on it before flipping and removing them while the potatoes were left to be incinerated. Really disappointing because I wanted to like this small mom and pop operation but honestly how can you screw up a menu with basically 20 items on it. the most complicated being a fried egg. I would have really been annoyed if I waited for a table as many did after we arrived only to be served this meal. May give them another try but wife may not cooperate and may choose Burger King over The Cracked Egg in the future. read more

The Crackin=Made with 1 egg (I got over medium), sausage, American cheese, and home fries (inside the sandwich) with a side of coffee.......MANNNNNNN it was delicious! The home fries had the nice outside crunch....they were so nice to split the sandwich...my friend I shared and they even included a few hash browns on the side (besides the one in the sandwich). Kinda wish I had the entire sandwich to myself LOL. My other friend ordered an egg white veggie omelette with home fries and it was fresh veggies.....really really good too. So many wonderful choices, everything was delicious. We are gonna make this our regular place.

So we returned and even though the staff is really great. I kind of jumped the gun on my yelp tip this time. This trip was less to be desired. We arrived and were seated promptly as the place was packed like last time. I was hungry and excited to be here again. They offered some new items on the board to the menu. I chose to have the breakfast scrambler this time. We watched as the cook who was different from the last time where our experience was amazing. I was concerned as the cook (Andy a customer called him ) be very overwhelmed with the crowd as he cooked. The orders that he prepared were either wrong and rushed. The food prepared this trip were of small portions and maybe it's because he wasted so many orders of eggs , waffles and omelets that he let burn and over cook as I also watched him toss these orders in the trash. So much of a waste of food. He complained all through out the cooking process as to too many people here today. Maybe he just needed some help. What really concerned me as I wanted to get up and leave but felt kinda obligated to the establishment is that he never changed his gloves with handling different foods and grease from the grill. He even wiped his forehead often and wiped his gloved hands on rags that hung from his waist. He continued to even cut fresh bananas and dig into a bag of what looked to be chocolate chips for someone's waffle order which made me cringe. We held strong as we waited for our food. We watched as he prepared our order which as you can see was left to be desired. Needless to say we ate and just bared with it. I would go back but not when this guy is cooking. Needed a place easy in and out for breakfast. I mean how hard are eggs? Anyway the wait person was not organized. Eventually took our order. Others who came in after us were eating before us. when she stopped to see how we were doing. Well we are still waiting for our eggs. One 3 egg omelet , 3 eggs over easy. with bacon. And rye toast for both and we still need coffee!! Oh so sorry she said. Well she got eggs to us. No toast. Had to ask for eating utensils. And toast and coffee!! Finally brought the toast but we were eating eggs without as they were getting cold. Oh the toast arrived cold. And finally got coffee when we were done. Never to go back again!! read more

Cute, local, traditional little cafe off the beaten path in the parking lot of a motel. If you want to avoid the mainstream, overpriced breakfasts at AC hotels, you could check this place out, as it's on the total opposite end of the spectrum. There are only a few tables, so you may have to wait for seats, but we got lucky. I got black coffee, which was $1.50 and was a huge portion in a big old mug. It wasn't bitter, so it was okay that they didn't have almond or soy milk. I also got the veggie omelette, which is made with three eggs. Hello, protein! It had a decent amount of veggies, but it did need a lot of hot sauce, because it didn't have that much taste. It also came with potatoes and toast, but they allowed the potatoes to be substituted for fruit. I appreciated that. Service was quick and friendly. That being said, we saw this cute little place and decided to give it a try, WOW glad we did. We were greeted with a warm smile and a very big good morning by the very accommodating young man. He (didn't get his name) promptly took our drink order as we looked over the menu. We ordered and the food was brought to us quickly and steaming hot!! Steaming hot is always a +++. The kitchen is open and you can watch the chef (Robert-owner) prepare the food. It was just breakfast but the eggs were done perfectly and the home fries are delicious. We were told that the chef has his very own secret seasoning blend for the potatoes and boy it's a good one. Our waiter came over 2 times to check on us and even filled a to go cup with water for me as we were traveling-so accommodating. This place is not to be missed-trust me! I'm a food snob!!! read more

What a great find. Such a wonderful cozy spot for breakfast. Our waitress Naria, was super friendly and attentive. The chef was also pretty cool. The food did not disappoint. My party was starving so we ordered a lot of food. The pancakes were fluffy and just absolutely yum. French toast was good but I recommend the pancakes. Home fries, eggs, toast, bacon. Just yum. What a hidden gem! We found this cafe a little off the beaten track traveling from Atlantic City. It's not a big place, but cozy and welcoming. Staff were friendly and service was great. Smiles are a winning element in this very "cute" diner that might squeeze 30 inside on a thin person day. They have a few patio tables outside next to a fountain on comfy days, which is not a good description of a summer day in South Jersey. The regular menu is ok but on each visit the SPECIALS BOARD is what brought treasures to the table. That chef in the white hat knows how to work her grill and fry pans. Omelets are stuffed and layered. It's a breakfast eater's delight. The potatoes can be blessed with some peppers and onions creating a really tasty home fry blend to complete the plate. Coffee is ready when you need it but their mugs seem extra deep so the need is lessened. This has become my go to breakfast stop at the shore. The owner is usually in to say hi. Found this little gem and came here with my hubs, Aunt and Uncle and the food was great! My hubs got the special which was sausage gravy over biscuits and he added two over easy eggs on top of them. Food very mediocre. Starting out I asked for hot tea which was Lipton tea bag. My son asked for hot chocolate and got hot water and, what was clearly, a package of hot chocolate mix. I had a short stack of French toast with bananas, blueberries, and strawberries. I asked, specifically, if the fruit was fresh, and was told yes. Perhaps the blueberries were fresh when it was frozen, but certainly not fresh when wrinkly on my plate. My son asked for a sausage and cheese omelette. Very little sausage. My husband had the Philly omelet..just okay. We asked for dry rye and it came with plenty of butter. We asked for crispy potatoes and mushy, at best, didn't even appear to be an attempt to get them crispy. I ordered crispy bacon and finally the waitress came back when I had a few bites left of my breakfast and my husband reminded the waitress.
