I'm usually not a fan of soups and ramen but this place has changed my mind! Their menu is extensive and I love that they have the option of vegetarian broth (yesssss). I've been back 3 times in the month since I found this place...oops. The hours are a little weird so check to see if they're open when you go. My only issue with this place is that service is slow. The waitress is super nice but it just takes forever for you to get a refill on drinks, etc. Definitely stick with their ramen! You won't be disappointed! read more

I've been wanting to try naengmyun (korean cold noodles) for a while, but I've never had the guts to do it. The waiter encouraged me to take the plunge and I'm so glad I did! Savory beef with chewy noodles, cucumbers, lettuce, and bean sprouts. The whole thing had this wonderful sesame pickle taste with a hint of spice. The cold temperature was perfect for a hot summer day. My husband ate the crazy bibim noodle. He wasn't sure what made it so crazy, but he said it was certainly delicious. When we peered at the back of the menu, we couldn't believe our eyes! Who could have guessed this place would have all our favorite Korean desserts?! Patbingsu? Yes please! I never thought I'd be able to get hotteok outside of Korea. The check came and we had gotten an appetizer, two entrees, and a dessert for 30 bucks. Nice price, Crazy Noodle! I love this place so much! They have a great variety of options and the portions are huge so there's always something for lunch or dinner left over to take home. The only downside I've found is the indoor temperature in the winter--it's freezing. It's as though they don't have indoor heating or something. So, when you're waiting on soup, which has never taken less than 35 minutes for me, it can get a little brisk. But, the patient patron gets rewarded well with a steaming hot bowl of delicious goodness :) Definitely a must to try if you haven't been. read more

It deserves 4 stars, but the service was horrible. It took almost 40 minutes to get my food, then the server came back and had to ask me what did I order. I love Crazy Noodle so much. It's one of my favorite restaurants in town. I always get the chicken ramen (medium spiciness) and I leave with enough for a second meal. I really like the kimbap, too. The parking situation sucks, but it's worth the headache of trying to find a place to park. They can be pretty slow when they're busy, but again, totally worth it. read more

I come here for lunch a lot and dinner sometimes but the last time I was here, I had to wait for over an hour for my order. Been here twice. What little I find on the menu I actually know I'll like is always fine. The issue comes in with the wait time (always ludicrously lengthy) and the temperature inside! It was WAY too hot last time I went! Another issue I have is last time, they were out of every single soda except for regular coke. It was an annoyance, but water is better for you anyway. read more

Crazy noodle is hands down the best ramen in Memphis that I've ever had. With that being said the service here is absolutely horrible. The waitresses don't refill your water, check up on you at all, and are all around non existent. The food takes over an hour and they serve Uber Eats orders before people who are actually dining in the restaurant. I would come here every night because I love the food but the service deters me from coming here every time. Even if you call in an order to go and they say it will be 40 minutes it is often DOUBLE that time. They are not very accommodating to their customers which is very disappointing because the quality of their food is great. Let me start by saying i love their food and dream often about the cheese ramen. However, after a recent horrible service experience here and many more past lack-luster ones....i haven't been back and don't plan on it. On this particular evening, i was meeting someone there. I walk in, get a table, and sit. I am greeted by a young waiter who looks entirely bored with his job- but in midtown, this is many times just how it is. Whatever. He asks if anyone is joining me, i say yes and order 2 waters and he gets 2 menus. While he is getting the waters, my company shows up. He comes back to the table a few minutes later, sans waters, and sheepishly says he needs the table, because there was a reservation for four coming in and he only has a two top available for them currently. I stare in disbelief for a few seconds and then say "so you are asking me, after seating us, to leave?" He says "yes". The guys at the table behind me have heard the entire exchange and are almost done so they graciously offer their table but i am livid at this point and decline. My company and i get up and leave, without even as much as an apology from him. Service has been painfully slow and borderline rude in the past, but never this bad. Crazy noodle needs to do better. I understand having more than one server feels like overkill- but it is desperately needed even in a small place like this and the attitude is atrocious. read more

I love the mandu ramen way too much. I can't judge if it's authentic to any tradition, but it's the most delicious ramen in Memphis. Turns out, I am not a fan of any Japanese ramen I've ever had and this is a different flavor profile. It's spicy too so perfect for when you have a cold. The broth is very flavorful, the noodles perfect, and the beef dumplings add an extra layer of flavor. It will take time though. The kitchen is small, but it's worth the wait. read more

Amazing Korean food at this place. My friends took me here and it was mind blowing. I never had real Ramen noodles. It's a small little casual place that is always packed with people, why? My wife doesn't eat spicy food. We ordered two ramen bowls, both labeled as "mild." They were both spicy. All that they would offer us was a free bowl of rice to go with it. I was forced to pay for both bowls. I ate my bowl, but it was too spicy for my tastes, and I do enjoy some spice. Then we walked down the street so that my wife could eat. I am not a huge fan of this place but don't tell my friends -- they'll be devastated. Let's say, I like it for the irony. The food is good. It's pretty well-made and has good flavor. However, I can and do make better dishes at home myself for less money and about twice as fast, and it should be mentioned that I'm a terrible cook. I find that the people I see eating here are looking for a different Asian experience and since this place offers Korean food, a rarity in Memphis, they believe it is great. Clearly none of them ever went to the defunct Korean restaurant at Hacks Cross and Winchester or Asiana Garden on Mount Moriah because these places make a full array of Korean food that is far superior to Crazy Noodle. Of course neither of these places are located in the heart of Memphis hipster country either, so yeah... but hey if every hipster knows about it then isn't it too mainstream to be cool? Or is it so mainstream that it's now ironic for a hipster to love it so that trumps the fact it's mainstream. God, I have no idea. Whatever, the food is good, but not great. Food: 3/5 The restaurant is a converted deck, so technically all the seating is patio seating. I don't know what else to say. There is some very nicely painted brick on the indoor patio seating. It looks a little erotic to me. It really sets the mood for "amore." I'm being sarcastic btw, although I do like the painting. One other thing, for a patio deck, the place is very echo-y. Don't expect to be plotting the assassination of the Queen of Beale in secrecy on this patio. Everything you say on the patio, every other diner hears... which reminds me, George, Dante says you have smelly feet. Just thought that would be easier to hear coming from a stranger on Yelp... Atmosphere: 3/5 The food is expensive. For what you get and the time it takes to get the food, it's outrageous. BTW, if you order a drink you only get a can. Don't expect more. My meal was a version of bim im Bap and parts of it were cold. When told by waitress that 45 minutes is actually "short" and that at times a 2 hour wait is normal here... that's it. NOT returning. The menu looked great (and perhaps some of the other items are wonderful), but the Curry noodle was just much too salty for me. I've had my fair share of Korean noodles from different places in the US (St. Louis, Chicago, LA, NY), but never have I ever had a bowl of jjambbong (spicy seafood noodle soup) that was so spicy that it practically gave my stomach ulcers. The spice was so overwhelming that in order to taste the actual flavor of the soup, I had to bite on an ice cube for a minute and then drink the soup. The flavor itself is mediocre with no seafood taste. The noodles were beyond overcooked and mushy. There were only 3 tiny shrimps, a few pieces of small calamari, 2 imitation crab meats, and 2 mussels. The service was good, our server was really nice. However, it would be nice in the future that they let us know we have the option of ordering it less spicy! I only found that out today after reading some other people's reviews on here! My dad and I just left here after waiting an hour for our food. The service is a ditsy mess and it wasn't even busy. The people that came in 20 min after us got their appetizers way before we even seen ours. I was really excited to eat here but we waited an hour!! An hour and there were only two other tables there!! Unacceptable. The only thing on our table before we left was our very warm and weak sweet teas.
