We accidently ate lunch at the Crazy Noodle today thinking we were going for Bi Bim Bop at the Kwik Check (they are attached). The waiter was nice but very overwhelmed as the place was very full and he needed help. He told me the Bi Bim Bop was next door but the lady cooking said that they could get it for me and they did! It was as awesome as I remembered for the old Petra Café. My husband had the Crazy Bi Bim Noodle and really enjoyed it. It was a bit pricey for lunch as with 1 tea (1 water) plus tip we spent $30.00. Next time we might try the Kwik Check, but the Crazy Noodle was very good!!! read more

As another regular of kwik chek I was very excited when the crazy noodle opened. I am sad to say the excitement ended there. The service well let's just be honest is beyond bad. It felt like it was the servers first day and they had no one to train them. No major mistakes, but a mountain of small yet important things. The wait was insane. I am normally pretty patient, but most of us are on a pretty tight clock when it comes to lunch. 50 minutes after taking our order no food in sight. The couple that ordered right before us asked if they could just get their food to go. Guess what we had to do the same thing. The food and service were good that I would gave a 4 stars. As others has been mentioned, it took a while to get your food which understandable since only two ladies to prepare the food. We went on a Sunday night and it was a wait for a table so that we asked for a to go. Good thing we placed an order and then a table opened up so we sat. 40-45 mins later our food came. I like the veggie jeon although not the wait. Glad I was not in a hungry mode when I walked in the restaurant. Also a good thing I know the place is slow so wasn't excepting speeding service either...=) If you are in a mood for noodles and not too hungry yet. I have to write this review even though I didn't buy dinner from this restaurant - I just want to say publicly that if you have allergies, you can trust them to tell you what is safe and what is not. I can say this because I was visiting Memphis from out of town, came here for dinner, ordered my food, and mentioned that I had a severe seafood allergy. The waiter came out and apologized, but said that the chef could not guarantee that anything on the menu would be totally free of seafood, even the vegetarian items. He knew that meant I couldn't eat there, and he was honest. I really admire that, appreciate it, and wished there was a way I could show my appreciation. Thankfully, there is! i love this place. so much. the food is fresh and delicious, the atmosphere is warm and laid back and the service is also top notch. bonus - i recently discovered that the spicy korean ramen is made with chicken broth and they happily changed my order to vegetable broth. i love a place that accommodates vegetarians! i also love the jap-chae noodle and the tofu salad is amazing. please make sure they're open before you go and also note that if you're a wine drinker, it's byob (with a $3.50 per person corkage). seriously. i HIGHLY recommend this place. let's keep them in business, memphis! read more

The food is decent. However, I say it's decent because there's not many Korean restaurants in the Memphis area. But this is coming from a Korean... so if you want authentic Korean food I wouldn't suggest this restaurant, but if you're looking for an Americanized version then I think you'll enjoy the food here. We found this restaurant high Yelp review, so we took home two Ramen, seafood and beef. Not bad for a Ramen, spicy soup with enough meat. The noodle also tastes great. They have an open kitchen, where you can see their clean kitchen. But I also saw the staff use Shin Ramyun noodle soup( a famous Korean instant noodle) to cook the Ramen, the flavour is the same. I love Shin Ramyun but I do think a restaurant with 4-star yelp review should be much better than this. Well, in this case, I would prefer to purchasing some Shin Ramyun ( $1~$2 ) and cook myself, instead of driving here for an instant noodle. read more

If you are too lazy to cook an instant noodle at home, don't hesitate to drive here and order a Ramen. I ordered Seafood Ramen. It tastes good, quite spicy and has lots of seafood. I am oodles about noodles so i gave this place a shot. I ordered the Jam-Bong, it had a very tasty spicy hot broth which I liked very much but they could do a few things to improve the dish. Larger Shrimp, More Mussels, Less squid and let the soup sit for 5 minutes covered prior to serving which will allow all that goodness to fuse. The dish is a little dull at first but gets better as you get closer to the half way point. I liked sitting behind the glass divider of the open kitchen bar and the staff was very friendly. TERRIBLE!!!! The owner is the most horrible person in history to own a restaurant I believe ! Terrible customer service skills! Went there on a week night last week and were treated beyond terrible with my daughter . I ordered my bowl "spicy" but to be fair it should have been labeled DEADLY on the menu! And I have had ramen all over the world!! It is done best by the Japanese in my humble opinion and this place is Korean. So there's that. Any-who I was absolutely starving! I ate mine through the sweat and tears . However , my daughter could not and asked that it be taken off of our bill. Just hers mind you! And the waitress was new and went to ask the manager and the manager came and actually said " well that's how she makes her "spicy" ramen and that was like supposed to be the end of that? And just like with a suck it up attitude walked away! Just a kid also with the ugliest cow piercing in his nose! But the real responsibility lies with this terrible owner/ so called cook! So when he walked away and our waitress returned we again asked that she ask the owner to remove the ONE soup my daughter hardly touched off our bill!!! She went away with the bowl of disgusting fire and almost immediately came the owner to our table ...not to apologize or anything! Or ask if she could make us something eatable! But to tell us she doesn't care how many places we've had ramen and that this was her spicing. My daughter very politely asked if maybe she had dumped a little more spice then usual? And she continued right over that point calling us "ridiculous"!!!!!??! The customers?! Telling us that we were giving her new waitress stress and that we were just so ridiculous ! And went on and on! I was just in shock, silent! Until finally my daughter said , "but wait so if you don't have an issue taking the one soup off ? Just please do so? We heard you . Please stop. Got it. Point taken ? Right?! "WE , not YOU with one chef and yourself taking hours for TWO bowls of soup! Which turn out to be hellfire !!! Are the ridiculous ones?!!?????? Ignore the early reviews from when this place first opened and the service was lousy. (It was.) They've stepped up in all the right places, unless you count occasionally cleaning the months worth of dead gnats off the windowsills. Amazing Korean food for very good prices. Most bowls are about $10 and very filling. I have had a few different things and I'm pretty sure that there are no dishes here that are anything less than amazing. You can adjust the spice of the bowl so nothing burns your mouth if you are sensitive to those kinds of things. They are very willing to omit items in the food if you request it, and everything is made fresh to order. The environment is a very intimate, almost hole-in-the-wall kind of place. Dimly lit, cozy, and has string lights along the walls, and the whole restaurant has tiny little toys lining the windowsills. The only uncomfortable time we had was during the winter when the heat was out and they had a small heater in one of the two rooms and that was it. (Also small parking lot, we had to walk a block tonight actually) The small inconveniences don't overshadow the experience. We absolutely love coming here for date night. read more

I have been to many Asian restaurants around Memphis and though they are usually okay, they are nothing exceptional. Then I accidentally stumbled upon The Crazy Noodle. It is absolutely the best I've had in town! You could close your eyes and point to anything on the menu and not be disappointed. I am not usually a fan of beef, but the way they cut and season all of their meats is so delicious! There is something for every taste. Very fresh and well seasoned. If you like spicy, many of the dishes there will hit the spot. So good. I'm a huge fan of Korean food and I've had some great food when I was in Nashville and Atlanta. Everything on the menu were noodles (what else did you expect from the name?), but they cooked it very nicely and it was slightly different (but in a good way) from what I've been used to. I guess depending on when you go it can get busy and you can end up waiting for quite a while, but we weren't in a rush so it didn't bother us.
