My partner and I came to this cafe because we are visiting the area and daaaaaang I wish this place was near our home. This was the best service I've ever experienced. They even offered me a new coffee if I didn't like the one I tried. The size of the crepe is more than enough for one person, which is more than my experience at other creperies. Decor and service are great. I was disappointed with the crepes. I have made crepes and also eaten many different versions of crepes. Creperie version was burnt and tough. To be tough, they over worked or over stirred the batter. To be burnt they cooked on too high a heat . I had the egg scrambled on a crepe . My friend had a strawberries filled crepe. Crepe was burnt and strawberry filling was missing something . The whip cream topping disappeared as it was out of a can. Suggest they come with a more substantial cream and berry mixture. Came here on a rainy Saturday in appreciation. The Creperie Cafe recently provided Friday snacks for all of the teachers at the local Monterey County high school that I work at. A place that supports teachers...we're ALL in!!! I ordered the banana crepe and was expecting bananas and crepe. What I got was some type of beautifully caramelized banana and Nutella in a perfectly done crepe. The inside is smart, stylish and interesting. Its a place where it's kinda fun to sit and wait for your food. A huge group of friends took up most of the tables and seem to be enjoying their time with hot artsy drinks and gorgeous sweet and savory crapes. My daughter thought the whole outing was so cool. Went there today. We ordered the Mediterranean crepe and chicken panini and a coffee. The owner and staff were super welcoming and friendly. The food was delicious. The owner gave us a crepe for free!! And it was delicious!! When we were going to leave we asked for to -go boxes and the owner took our plates, plated it in a larger plate and covered it with foil because he didnt want our crepes to get mushed. I had the day off, and wife and I visited the Creperie Cafe on a Friday when the power was down for most of the Peninsula. The café was full and there was nowhere to sit when we arrived, as a lot of people had come in and camped out to work and/or power their devices. We waited a while and a spot eventually opened up. We ordered food and coffee, and it look about 50 minutes to get served. The staff seemed overwhelmed, and the process by which they were attempting to fill orders didn't seem to make sense. For example, I was hoping to get our coffee first, but they insisted on bringing everything together at once. When the food / coffee arrived it was really tasty. My veggie crepe was delicious and my coffee was good as well. My wife's coffee order was wrong (she ordered a latte and got a mocha) so I gave her my cappuccino and took the mocha rather than waiting again. Her crepe was also slightly burnt, but there was no chance we were sending it back, and in spite of it being a little burnt, it was also quite good. The venue is reasonably sized, with lots of seating, and has a modern, hip vibe. Like so many of the customers there that day, it seems like a good place to either bring your laptop or a book and hang out and enjoy the food and coffee while you work or read. The kitchen clearly only has capacity to address a certain number of orders, and the amount of customers that day broke the system. I'll probably go back to give it another try, although with so many other good breakfast / coffee spots on the Peninsula, that's a bit of a question mark. I think they just had a rough day because of the power being out elsewhere. Most of the people who had camped out were still there, working away, by the time we left. read more
