This restaurant is nestled in a shopping mall in Carmel. I came for lunch and there was ample seating. You place your order and pick out a spot. They do have a bar area with a small amount of beers on tap and other options in a fridge. They also have a small outdoor seating area. The reason it's not getting 5 stars is the restroom. Toilet did not work and there was no paper towels or a way to dry your hands. The food itself was spectacular. I had the Brisket & BBQ chicken combo with beans and potato salad. The brisket and the chicken was great. Both were juicy, smoky & full of flavor. The beans were a little too sweet but the potato salad was nice and creamy. The garlic bread was ok. My husband and I took a trip down to Carmel from Nevada for our first wedding anniversary. While looking for some good eats in the area we came across this BBQ joint. The food was so good we had to come back a second time. The portions are good enough for us to split a meal. On the first day we shared a 2 meat combo meal (tri-tip and brisket) and for our two sides we had the potato salad and mac n cheese. Loved it! The cornbread was lacking, and wasn't our fav. Day 2 we split a tri-tip sandwich and had to have the mac n cheese again I asked for extra of the pickled veg on the side. Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted so good! The service was great, I didn't guys name who helped us on the second day but he was very welcoming and kind and gave us some history on the nearby beach. The brisket was absolutely dry (see picture) and looked and tasted like leftover scraps - nothing like what you'd find if you googled "brisket". The 1/4-cup of Mac & Cheese was mushy, tasted old and was tasteless. The 1/4 cup of potato salad was good with fresh, crunchy celery. This was my second and certainly last visit.
