Medianoche Sandwich

This cute little shop is located right off St George street on one of the little side streets. They had empanadas and croquettas in a premade display, but our sandwiches were made fresh after we ordered! We were immediately greeted after walking in and the food was walked out to us after it was made. All the drinks were canned or bottled. I had a pineapple soda that was a little sweeter than what I wanted, but still delicious! My cousin ordered fries for the table and they were good. My medianoche was fresh and delicious!

We were walking around and wanted a lil snack, nothing crazy just a lil bite and this place perfectly fit the bill! In the hot case was empanadas, croquettas, churros, guava pastries, all kind of goodies! We tried the beef empanadas, churro, pressed ham and cheese.... yum! Every thing tasted good, it was just enough to get us to dinner time, daughter loved the churro. Ill have to try their cafe con leche next time :)

Brought home delicious beef empanadas, medianoche sandwich and churros!

I am not Cuban but lived in Tampa for 19 years and was spoiled with some of the best Cuban cuisine in FL! After moving to N FL , it was a struggle finding any authentic Spanish food! Thankfully a few years ago we came across The Cuban Cafe and Bakery in St. Augustine! As you walk through the quaint outdoor seating area, you are filled with the aroma of fresh Cuban coffee! Once inside the cozy cafe you are greeted with smiles and wonderful Spanish music. The sandwiches, bakery goods and empanadas are always wonderful!

We were in Florida and of course you want to get Cuban coffee. When we saw this place, we thought it was great. We went in for a Cuban coffee, and it truly was not the same. I haven't had enough Cuban coffee, but the ones that I had were very, very, very good and this one just taste like a normal latte. The store was nice. They had some tables outside the and inside and it's decorated all cute but just not enough for me to have another coffee here.

For your morning wake up @10am (open). I was going to have an empanada to compare it to the Columbia but after seeing cases of cheese empanadas sitting outside from a delivery that was left without anyone around @9am I decide on something that I can watch them make. I have had Cuban sandwiches in Miami and I have had Croquetas but I have never had the two put together. The Croqueta sandwich is just that and was delicious. Opens at 10am and the line out the door builds quickly.

Got the Iced caramel cafe con leche, it's the perfect mix of flavors! Delish! Also got the chicken empanada and croquette. Cute family place and would definitely be back!

We were here for a drink after walking on St George street. The latte is actually very good. No green tea only black tea. They also serve food, pretty neat place!

This was a great stop by for a late lunch. The place is fairly simple in decor, but it certainly got the job done. As it was well after lunch, we were the only ones there and service was quick and efficient. I had a Cuba sandwich and an El Presidente beer which went well with the sandwich. The sandwich was better than average, but nothing to write home about. I'd stop in again if in need for a quick and good bite.

I won't say it's the best most authentic Cuban restaurant out there but the food was pretty darn good.

Definitely NOT authentic. The coffee tastes American and I ordered a tostada and there was a piece of lechón in it. Very disappointed.

I guess that's why we sign the waivers! With that said, my kids loved this place. It was nice to hear their giggles and see my 5-year-old son basically get tackled by a caybara trying to get his lettuce. There are other animals in the experience, including a floppy ear bunny, a loud parrot (that bites so don't touch!) and a few other animals. They are great in keeping the kids distracted before the main capybara event. We had a really fun time.

My wife had the Signature flight - Lavender Latte, Rose-iatto, Cinnamon Mocha and Caramel Macchiato. All great choices! This place is truly something special. From the moment you walk in, the decor and atmosphere are absolutely charming--elegant, whimsical, and giving a fun Bridgerton vibe. The staff and owners were incredibly ,warm welcoming, and genuinely kind. You can tell they truly care about the experience they create for every guest. Between the two of us over two visits, we shared several menu items, and every single one was exceptional. Every coffee we tried was phenomenal--the Lavender Latte, Chaga-ccino, Cinnamon Mocha Latte, and Churro Cold Brew were all beautifully crafted and absolutely delicious. I truly can't pick a favorite because every single one was that good. The food was just as outstanding, with generous portions and incredible flavor. We highly recommend the B.E.C.ky, the Better Than..., the Venetian, and the Tulum Sammie. My personal favorites were the Venetian and the Tulum Sammie--both were absolute perfection. It is rare to find a place where the food, coffee, service, and atmosphere all exceed expectations, but The Modern Rose does exactly that. I only wish we had something even half this good back home. They have only been open a little over a year, and I have a feeling that as more people discover just how wonderful this place is, reservations will become a must. This will absolutely be a must-visit for us every time we return to St. Augustine.

I ordered the peanut butter cold foam coffee topped with freeze-dried strawberries, and it tasted exactly like a PB&J sandwich in the best possible way. It was absolutely incredible. The atmosphere was welcoming, the drinks were thoughtfully crafted, and you can tell a lot of creativity goes into everything they do. The flavor was really good and it paired nicely with the coffee. Overall, it's a lovely spot to sit and enjoy a drink, especially with all that natural light coming through the windows. I'd definitely come back again--hopefully next time when the oven is working so I can try that cheddar bagel toasted!

Daughter ordered a salted caramel latte but didn't like it. Said it was too bitter, not sweet enough & couldn't taste the salt or caramel.
