I am a student at CSUB and had seen that curbside was on campus for a few months. I didn't want to lose my parking spot and was super hungry so I decided to give them a try, considering I've heard really great things about them. I had the philly cheese steaks sandwhich with regular fries and am currently regretting it. The fries were JUST fries, nothing special . I was a little disappointed upon receiving my plate because I had seen other people leave with pretty good size portioning of fries on their plates. I received mine and I'm more than sure the cooks ran out and just wanted to hand my food out already so the portioning was ridiculously small. The cheesesteak sandwich did not have any delicious or distinguishable taste it was literally just steak and cheese. It was awfully greasy as well. My cashier seemed to be annoyed and only concerned with me cashing out. Save your money. read more

I guess when your hungry everything tastes good. I wanted panda but the panda bar wasn't setup and I didn't feel like going out to find food and wasn't in favor for a sub as well as lose parking at the university... && so... I ordered one of their special(s), which seems to stay consistent all week, bacon hamburger fries and a drink (horchata). I also ordered 2 of their carne Asada tacos and 1 quesadilla. The burger was okay, the tacos were just okay and the quesadilla was just okay; however the garlic fries were good -- which kind of taste like gilroy fries. The burger has no comparison to five guys, in n out, fat burger, farmer boys and dare I say it, McDonalds that leave you with a satisfying feeling. The price for a burger and combos are also quite expensive, same goes with the quesadilla and tacos respectively. Additionally, they charge a credit card fee regardless of price(s). I also found it odd that they also decide who pays taxes on their items. One person paid $10 for a special and another paid $10 + tax for the same item. I'm assuming they must be some sort of regular? Idk. But anyhow... The tacos tasted mostly like sauce and was really greasy. Quesadilla had plenty of cheese and a fair amount of meat but the quality wasn't as exciting. The drink was refreshing and good though. As for customer service the girl taking the order with the iPad kind of just brushes you off as soon as she takes money from you and the guy seems much friendlier. Aside, I wonder if they pay "rent" to have their establishment parked on campus. I saw staff gave them some flyers to pass out to students but as the staff left they just placed the flyers tucked away. I mean at least have some sort of business rapport, then again, it's a business... business first especially that of a small one ?!!? I never thought I'd review a chicken quesadilla, but wow! The tortilla is perfectly crispy, there is a mammoth amount of cheese, and a very healthy serving of grilled chicken inside. This is not your typical quesadilla, believe me. I wasn't too excited about the guac sauce, but I'm a spice girl. The red chile is outstanding! I need more of that in my life. I attended an event that the truck was at. The downside is that I don't think they were fully prepared for the amount of traffic at the event. My son and I had to wait a very long time to get our food that we weren't able to eat with the rest of our family that picked another vendor to eat from. The wait was literally over 20 minutes. The other issue is they only let us pick burgers and fries from the menu, when we really wanted pupusas. But once the food arrived, it was really good and fresh. Their buns are salted, and I love a good set of buns! Once we got our food we heard that they were fulfilling regular orders. I was kinda bummed because I really didn't want a burger and would have preferred to have a choice to pick from the menu. They are on the little pricey side especially if you're paying with a debit card. I always forget about the "swipe" fee. If you do come to eat here bring some cash. Stopped by for breakfast. Greeted by the owner, I presume, and we placed our order. Bacon/sausage breakfast burrito easy on the eggs, a cheese/pepper tamale, and their special "bomboso" (Im pretty sure this is not how to spell it). Burrito was fantastic with the addition of their perfectly chunky salsa verde. Though the masa on the tamale appeared to be crumbly/grainy, the taste of the tamale was great. I didn't try the "bomboso" because it had sour cream on it, but my girlfriend said it was good. It was a bread roll covered with a red sauce and then stuffed with egg/chorizo mixture and then topped with other stuff, I think it was potatoes and cheese. Found the truck with no problem. Plenty of parking near by. Had only one chair outside the truck and no tables? Truck looked clean and the owner was very nice and helpful. Okay. I really, really want to LOVE this place, im just not there ... YET. My only complaint is the organization. I know, i know, its a food truck. At, the same time though, I would not classify Curbside as your typical "Roach Coach." My food was delicious - so for that 5 STARS. I have been to Curbside twice now. There is no designated spot to "order" which creates confusion and a bit of chaos. One person jots down your order on a tablet or when busier writes it on an order ticket and hands it to the person ringing. She then has to ask who had blankey blank and that person then has to come up and pay. Also, they do not take names or assign numbers - so when your order is ready, it's like ... who had the blankety blank again. Also, on both occasions I ordered the special which included a drink. On my first visit, after I got my order I was confused as it had no drink, but assumed perhaps I had just mis-understood what the special included. Since the truck had no soda fountain I could see, I assumed this was the case and proceeded into the gas station to buy a drink. On my second visit I again ordered the special and took note it DID include a drink. So again when I was handed my order with no drink, I asked about it. The guy asked if he had given me a ticket to which I said "no" and he then gave me a ticket to take into the gas station and get my drink. So, I guess my point is that, some comunication and a bit of organization would really be great. Not only would it help any new comers, but It would also cut down on the total time it takes to get your order, which is huge when were talking about people on thier lunch hour. These guys pump out orders quite quickly, but it seems to take a damn act of congress to place it. I came over for lunch. Parking was relatively easy. The wait was about 10-15 minutes. They take cards. I had two sopes and a side of the garlic fries. Except this time they didn't have fries but potato patties. They were still pretty good but I would have preferred the French fries. The patties seem like a better breakfast option. My two friends and I wanted to try something different so we tried this place we all agree it was a good experience. The owner was cool he even explained how he prepared some of the meat dishes. They have tons of items coming out of a catering truck which is a good thing ,more items for me to try haha. So my first time experience eating there was a great one so people try this place out . This truck was on site at a 2 day event I attended. Day 1 I ordered a cheeseburger and wanted fries but they were out of fries which seemed weird because the truck was moderately busy but not mobbed or anything. It was a little pricey but the burger was a good size. However when something isn't good it doesn't matter if the portion is large. It was bland and so greasy it made me queasy after a few bites. There was a weird sweet flavor which may have been the mayo. The next day the truck was the only option but I thought I'd get something Mexican which might be better. I got an asada burrito which was again large but gross. Rice was terrible, mushy and bland. Beans were undercooked. Asada was more like barbacoa in terms of texture. Not much flavor. I don't recommend this food at all. 2 stars because it was very fast if not the friendliest service. read more

I met the owner and he was very nice. He spoke passionately about his business, made a few jokes, and made some recommendations for my first time. I tried the carne asada tacos (4) and I've gotta say, these were amazing. I will come back and I want to try their burgers and garlic fries. I'm giving a 5 star because if you get a chance to talk to the owner, you'll see he's totally personable and very passionate about his business. I've had food from this place three times. Once on Veteran's Day (at the previous location), the second time was at a private event and today on Good Friday. I've enjoyed the food more upon each visit. The quality of ingredients and craftsmanship is excellent. My party and I have had: garlic fries, pupusas, tacos (asada, chicken & chile verde), a quesadilla, the San Diegan sandwich and they're all great. My favorite is by far the garlic fries because they are thin, crisp, salty & full of garlic flavor. I'm not a fan of the salsa but that's just me. My dining companion loves cotija cheese and ordered a carne asada burrito with cotija cheese. He absolutely loved it!!! I can't wait to see how Curbside Kitchen flourishes when they have a permanent structure. My hope is that they will expand their menu to include craft cocktails, but if not, I will still patronize this yummy eatery. read more

I was finally able to catch this truck now that it's closer to my work. They are parked in the Downtown Deli parking lot across from The Padre. We ordered the garlic fries, asada tacos and a chicken tamale. First off, but the garlic fries were crispy and hot even after driving back to work. They weren't overwhelmingly garlicky either. Just perfect. The asada tacos were tasty, and the beef was well seasoned and didn't have that awful grey color as other taco places. The salsa had a nice kick to it as well. The chicken tamale was great as well. The masa had a good flavor and wasn't plain tasting. The chicken was shredded with a good green salsa. I would have taken pictures, and except that we inhaled everything. Check this place out soon! They have daily specials too! read more

This food truck is the real deal! I ordered 4 asda tacos with everything. I have had alot of tacos from many different places. None of them have matched up to a food truck in Turlock, CA. Until now! Curbside Kitchen has an amazing hot sauce for their tacos. The carne asada was cooked perfectly. I can't wait to try someone else from the menu.
