Came here for happy hour on Friday, and I have to say I really enjoyed my time. The happy hour menu had some great deals, especially the calamari and wings. I'm always a fan of paying a little more during happy hour for higher-quality food, and both dishes were well worth the price. The move here is definitely to order a few appetizers during happy hour and then grab one of their signature burgers. My goto spot when I want a quality restaurant level burger!! Excellent food and even better service! Nick was our server, and he was fantastic; friendly, professional, attentive, and helpful to everyone. The entire staff was welcoming and kind, which made the experience even more enjoyable. I ordered the Colombian burger, cooked perfectly medium with a beautifully pink center. The combination of chimichurri sauce and bananas was so creative and absolutely delicious. The garlic fries were excellent as well. My husband ordered the buffalo wings and really enjoyed them, and our beer and mule were both great. We appreciated the comfortable environment, the wide variety of food choices, and the consistently excellent service. Everyone around us seemed to be enjoying their meals too. The table next to us ordered the poutine and said they couldn't stop eating it, while another table was enjoying wings, a Caesar salad, and drinks. I forgot to take photos because we just dove into our food but I really enjoyed the burger. Other tables were having the hot chicken sandwich and the cheesesteak which both looked great too. I ordered the OG with fries, and after the first bite the burger turned into a sloppy mess. This place lives up to the hype. We started off with the shishito peppers and OHMYGAWDDD they are phenomenal. You have to get these if you go. The flavor, the spice, the tang -- all of it is delectable. I ordered the sweet and spicy burger with sweet potato fries and it was fantastic. Meat perfectly cooked, the potato bun is top notch, and the fries were perfectly crispy and flavorful. We ended up ordering the sticky date pudding for dessert and that was rich, moist, and with incredible texture and flavor. The only thing that wasn't amazing was the mocktail I ordered -- the guavanada (sp?). It wasn't bad, it just wasn't worth the $8 it costs. Delicious burgers, fries, and condiments! This burger joint first started as a food truck, and just 3 years later, opened up this first location in Irvine. They've gotten nominations, won an OC Register award, and now over 10 years later, are still rock'n it! Also serving beer, wine, Poutine, coconut shrimp, wings, bone marrow toast, and a new weekend brunch menu. They even have a grilled hanger steak, which I can't wait to try! That is actually what it's called, and it's sooooo fitting! This one comes with Swiss Cheese, 3,000 Island sauce, and bacon relish, which is the best condiment I've ever had! The buns were perfectly toasted with that slight crisp on the outside while staying soft inside, and the patty was incredibly juicy--flavorful with every bite. I hadn't had a burger in a while, and was ready to start my Fourth of July off with some delicious burgers from here, which was right down the street from my apartment! I split the savory burger, smashburger, and Nashville hot chicken sandwich. Ask for a side of honey to go with your hot chicken sandwich if you're someone like me, who likes sweet, savory, and spicy, because it was soooooo good! We also got a side of their onion rings, which was crispy, and no, the onion itself did not pull all the way out when we bit into it. If I could go back, I'd probably ask for two sides of the onion rings. The burgers itself were all so good, and my personal fav of the two had to be the savory burger. The bacon bits inside of it just went so well with the rest of the burger. If you come during midday, I believe there's a discount on the burgers! It looks like they also have other happy hour specials, a bar, and offers weekend brunch. The seating is very open and airy. Surprisingly, their to-go food is better than dining in. Seating along the wall feels like a seesaw -- when someone sits beside you, your drink might spill. Service was friendly but careless. They asked if the food was good before I even took a bite and ignored me. When I pointed out that the chicken was chewy and nearly broke my tooth with its hardened crumbs, they just said, "We'll let the kitchen know," then charged me full price and ignored the half-eaten plate right in front of them. The waitress chatting over my shoulder with another table was rude and uncomfortable. The Nashville chicken was the worst I've had here: burned crumbs like rocks, overcooked meat, and barely any sauce. The spicy aioli was almost nonexistent. The beet salad made my partner run to the restroom with nasty pickled apple and mushy beets. I won't be coming back to a place that charges full price for food that could damage your teeth and ignores complaints. Maybe that's why the restaurant was half-empty during dinner hours. read more

She order the Purple Drank, which comes with glitter. I found it refreshing. I had ordered from their rotating tab. A stout, which was way too strong for day time, 16.5% alcohol. Our go to place when we come to Irvine and in the mood for a good burger. It's in a shopping center. It's an airy place as it opens up to patio. We sat inside at comfortable bench and chair seating. It's not a big place but we never had to wait. Debated to having the double smash burger but decided on the OG burger, customize with no cheese, well done, raw onions add fresh jalepenos. I requested burger sauce on the side to avoid having a soggy burger. I selected onion rings as side for additional $6. It does not come with sides. The Cut is serving up some of the most gourmet burgers in Irvine and beyond! This spot is located in the same plaza as Hmart and Sprouts and there is a good amount of parking spots. Reservations are recommended but you can also take your chances with walking in as well. Wifey and I stopped by for dinner around 7pm and there was about a 10 minute wait. Inside, they have a nice modern interior with about 7-8 tables for seating. For their menu, they have a great selection of appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, and salads. We opted to try the Truffle and Brie Burger, The Cut Burger, Poutine, and a Lavender Lemonade. Everything that we had was delicious and we could definitely taste the quality of the elevated flavors. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our time dining here. All of the staff are very friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The burgers are delicious and cooked to perfection, and the happy hour pricing and deals are superb. However why I am giving 4* and not 5 - sometime recently they have changed the cut of fry that is used. They were thinner cut which meant the tallow fried flavor was not nearly as prominent, and the double fry thinner cut also made the fries a little tougher and more crunchy with less potato flavor. I think that a lot of people would like the food and the ambiance. I was a little confused because i thought it would be closer to fast casual dining but instead it is closer to a pub like Eureka. Service is very friendly and prompt. It isn't too loud and there is a lot of space for each party to kind of be on their own without overlapping with one another. Food is really good - I got the bleu cheese burger. I think they use a 90% lean / 10% fat ratio for their ground meat - not sure but the burger itself though really tasty was slightly dry, which was unexpected because everything else was done very well (flavor was on point). This might be a stylistic choice or matter of preference idk. I would grab an order of the tater tots or loaded tots - they were extra crispy and a good pairing to the burger. Slightly overpriced imo but still really good for a solo bite to eat or maybe a low effort date night. Honorable mention for their happy hour deals. read more

Ok...this one is rough. My first experience with the Cut was in 2020. It was amazing. Simple, yet flavorful. Over the years I'd go back and it was alway amazing, until...last year and this year, I've notice a shift in flavor. The burgers are still good don't get me wrong but, it's not what I'm use to be.
