The atmosphere was great too...We might have been able to get a table if we walked in, but the place was almost full (so lively vibe), and glad we had a reservation. The food was good. Overall, I thought almost everything we got was a bit oversalted, which distracted me from what might have been the unique flavors of the dishes. We shared Mushroom Fricassee - might as well get a restaurant name-sake dish. It looked beautiful, but the mushrooms were a bit too salty. The Ricotta Gnudi was gorgeous and tasted good, especially with the pea mint broth it rested on...but this also felt a little salt-heavy. We also shared bread service, which may have been my favorite part of what we got...several different house-made breads with, very salty butter. I love a good salted butter, but even this seemed like a little too much. I'm not against salt, but it just felt like it killed what could have been truly elevated flavors in these dishes. We closed with Almond Goat Cheese Cheesecake...I mean, how could we not...this was perfect. We appreciated a lot about Morel and are glad we went, but wish the dishes we got were a little less salt-heavy.

Mind you the whole first hour standing in a cramped- way too full bar - is not fun. So we were given 2 free apps for the "misunderstanding". Our waitress forgot my friends wine - not the biggest deal. Everyone but me ordered a prime rib and they were all mostly fat. The space is small but the tables weren't on top of each other. The menu has multiple parts to it similar to Italian style where there's a first, second and main course. The Virginia oysters were large and had a more briney taste than sweet taste. The sauce that came with was good and cut the briney essence. I really liked my steak and it was cooked perfectly medium rare. My husband got the chicken stuffed with sausage which was okay. All of the ingredients tasted fresh and the food was well made. Staff was very helpful and friendly. I would definitely go again to try another dish. The bill was pricey with two entrees, two drinks, a dozen raw oysters, appetizer and dessert which ran $218 without tip.

I said when she came by for a rare visit we are ready to order, she gets her pad and goes round the table. I have to give to menus to her. Apps were okay nothing special. Main course was fair, except the short ribs which had no flavor and were sent back when the rare occasion happened and we were seeing either of our waitresses. Dessert was wanted by only two people, even thou I paid for 3 on a special menu since it was all below par. The two did enjoy their lava cake.
