This place is fantastic. I have never been to the public market on a weekend. It was…read more.. overwhelming. I was staying nearby, an was planning a little picnic, I knew theif wine shop would be perfect. They have the bar setup in the middle, but I was feeling a bit crushed by all the people and just perused around the bottle area. Their selection is fantastic. They have it separated by location and cover all price points. Everyone can find something. I was given space to look around. Twice someone asked me if I needed help, but it was polite and not pushy. Once I found a Montepulciano I was interested in, someone came over from the bar to check me out. I asked him if it was possible to get one of the cheese trays to go, and was told it was no problem. He would ring it up for me and get right on it. He offered me a seat at the bar while I waited, but I was happy just looking at their other wine options. The cheese plate was super tasty, and a really good value at $15. There were four cheeses, grapes, almonds, crasins, and bread. We really liked the selection and were impressed with the size. Seriously nothing but good things to say. A wonderful reason to visit the market.

The bartenders are knowledgeable and can answer any questions you have and/or make recommendations based off your input. They are always very friendly. I enjoyed coming here with my partner to enjoy wine and people watch in the market. They have some tables to use or bar seating. They also have a full area where you can buy bottles from all over the world. Lastly they offer some snacks for purchase like charcuterie board, cheese, nuts, and other small plates.

Our tea package was a gift and as first timers we weren't sure what to expect. We had the option of a mimosa or prosecco to start. While sipping on our prosecco, our tea butler stopped by to present the teas. She did a great job describing everything, it was hard to pick! I went with a tangerine ginger, and my sister went with the vanilla. We both took her recommendations for infusions. You receive a generous amount of tea. The presentation of snacks and treats is beautiful. We had the luxe menu and enjoyed everything. An extra bottle of prosecco had been tacked on and when we were ready, staff popped it open and kept it chilled next to our table. The pianist was lovely. Played great music and also did a round of happy birthday. We were celebrating my birthday so I was gifted a slice of carrot cake which was delicious. While this isn't something you would do all the time, we are already looking forward to coming back for another birthday celebration.

Fantastic quaint, little Spanish restaurant in the Third Ward. It's only open a few days a week,…read moreand with only 5/6 tables, reservations are required. It was one of the most special dining experiences we've ever had in Milwaukee. From the moment we walked in, we felt like we entered the home of an Argentinian chef. In fact, you pretty much having Chef Ana as your own personal chef, with her husband Peter also providing some exceptional hospitality. She came up to our table multiple times during the evening to chat with us and ask us how our meal was. It's pretty amazing that she is the sole chef in the restaurant and is able to prepare all the meals while also checking in with patrons regularly. The food was really good. They have two prefix options, and we went with the paella, with an appetizer, dessert and bottle of rosé. Each course felt thoughtfully curated, beautifully presented, and bursting with authentic flavor. The warm staff and intimacy is something unique and different than anything else we've experienced. It's rare to find a place where you can experience both world-class cuisine and the personal touch of the people behind it. FYI, there is a price to be paid for such wonderful food and service. But for a special occasion, it's well worth the money spent and would be right up near the top of my list. Cavas is truly a hidden gem -- If you're looking for a unique dining experience, I recommend you check it out!
