I am a huge fan of Collins Quarter and The Fitzroy so I was super disappointed to find that the food here is not the same quality. PROS: There is a beautiful view of the beach. The food presentation is great. The fried food is good- French fries were the best part of the meal. CONS: The service is lacking, there appear to be a lot of untrained servers that don't know much about the menu, don't refill waters, etc. For some reason while we were there, several servers spilled drinks on tables and on the floor. The food was not great. My fish tacos were bland and my husband said the pork belly that we heard so many good things about was too fatty and oily to enjoy. The drinks were not great, especially for beach drinks. We both ordered Pina Coladas and they were not fully blended- there were large ice chunks and a clear separation between the rum and the rest of the ingredients. Even after giving it a good stir and trying to get the ice to melt a little- that tropical taste was just not there. There are so many other good places to grab food on Tybee. This really just seems to be a convenient spot if you're already out on the beach for the day. read more

We wanted to eat somewhere with a view of the water, and this place definitely delivered. There's also a path leading to the beach, so we enjoyed a quick swim after lunch. The beach was pretty clean, though nowhere near the most picturesque I've seen. The water was warm though which was awesome to me being from California. Deck Burger $13: Choices for me were limited as I don't eat seafood. The burger was edible enough, and definitely seemed to be from a frozen patty. The malt vinegar fries have that flavor from a powder, so it was pretty salty. If you like the malt vinegar taste, I think you're better off asking for regular fries and liquid malt vinegar. Triston was our wonderful waiter. We asked to be moved from his section in the cabanas because it was chilly in the shade, to the sunny tables closest to the beach. He was a great sport & help about that. The beach access is nice. We liked our shrimp tacos with surprisingly good rice, as well as the fish sandwich. We went to The Deck for dinner after trying in vain to find parking at a few other restaurants. Based on good reviews, we had The Deck on our plans for later in our vacation, but chose to go tonight anyway. We asked for outside seating and were given a high-top on the deck. We took the recommendation of Simone, our server, and ordered the Surf & Surf Special, a monster of a meal. Simone let us know that it was enough for two to share, and she was right! The special consisted of grilled shrimp, grilled grouper, grilled lobster, coconut rice, grilled veggies (zucchini, peppers, squash and others), micro-greens and fresh avocado. Everything was top-notch and we were so full that we couldn't fathom adding a dessert! We'll definitely visit The Deck again before our vacation is over and try something new from the menu. Blown away by this place. We were here on a very busy Saturday afternoon for a wedding rehearsal brunch, on a very big day for college football (I'm talking Georgia/Auburn, Bama/Texas A&M). The staff here took excellent care of us and the food was fabulous. We ordered an ahi poke bowl and deck burger, both of which were delicious. Their drinks are not to be missed either- big fan of the jalapeño margarita on a hot southern Saturday. The service was impeccable. They made sure our 2 year old daughter had her chicken fingers and virgin pina colada STAT, which kept her very happy while we sipped our drinks. Visited this spot on the last night of our quick getaway trip to Tybee. Reviews were positive and were staying on the same street so it was only a 2 minute drive from our inn. Location is within a hotel/condo right on beach, parking lot has designated spots for restaurant. We went at night so I can't speak on views. There was only one other couple there so plenty of seating options and staff were adhering to Covid safety. Everyone was really nice. Our server seemed young but was super sweet and attentive. My Husband wanted a burger and I wanted a seafood boil to end off our trip. Food was presented nicely and tastes good. Manager greeted & checked on us. Portions were great, especially for my boil. We had already got a boil elsewhere at the start of trip & portions were not as good as here (i.e. we got 2 corns and a pound of crab legs vs. 1 corn & maybe 2 crab legs at other spot). Boil was tasty but not very seasoned, there was seasoning put on top but items didn't have much flavor; however sausage was good and juicy. Sweet tea was great our server seemed proud of herself for making it and enjoyed my compliments. Took plenty of boil in carryout container and snacked on it later that night. Food was really very good. Friendly service and direct beach access are key factors. Parking nearby, set up your chairs and umbrella... Then walk up the ramp to eat lunch. Take a drink to go, and enjoy the waves. Best day we've had so far,and it makes the north Beach far superior to the South Beach when you have everything you need so close by. We had the best time at The Deck! We came 3 days in a row while visiting Tybee Island, and that was mainly because of the incredible service from Eli! We went there twice with our large family (party of 10) during the holidays and weren't expecting much other than this view based upon the low key vibe when you walk into the restaurant - but the food was a surprise hit! We had some of the best seafood here (we went to over 8 restaurants during our trip) - it was fresh (no fishy smell), delicately prepared (flaky, tender, not rough) not overly seasoned (a touch of salt or spice- nothing strong enough to obscure the flavor the fish)... soo good! We had the surf and surf (shrimp, grouper and sautéed veggies with rice), the salmon, the coconut shrimp, the chicken quesadillas (very good!) among other items. What a pleasant surprise. Pretty disappointing. It was very convenient to where we we're staying so we had planned to enjoy several meals there. The reception was pleasant but we ended up waiting 15 minutes without anyone coming to our table. I went back to the reception desk and she was very apologetic and said she would get our server over right away. Our server came over a few minutes later and was very apologetic and we did get some water. He then disappeared again, eventually coming back to take out order.
