I thoroughly enjoyed my brunch experience at The Deck. We requested outdoor seating with an ocean view: even though it was hot outside, most tables are covered by huge canvas umbrellas. Our table server was genuinely friendly, knowledgeable regarding drinks and food, and attentive. We ordered a mudslide and a rum punch. Both were good and provided nice respite from the heat. The Deck has a varied menu and serves brunch from 11-3. We ordered the Tybee Salad and Korean Fried Chicken and Waffles. Both were delicious. For desert we had the always popular Key Lime Pie ~ also delicious. I cannot imagine anyone having anything other than a pleasant experience at The Deck. Drove to Tybee Island for a look around and stopped for lunch. Food was good, service was excellent and it was on the beach The only thing I feel needed addressing was the very strong odor of fish. In my experience when you can smell it that strongly there's a freshness issue. Have been in many restaurants that do have freshly caught fish and you are not subjected to the smell. read more

Food was just okay. This is twice that I've ordered a chicken sandwich and was given a thigh. The flavor was fine, but I don't like thighs on a chicken sandwich--maybe chicken breasts sandwiches are a Texas thing? The menu definitely needs to indicate that. The bread/bun was thick and hard. The fries were thick cut and not bad, but nothing special. The water had a weird taste as well... Ultimately, people's idea of good food on this app is subjective. My palate in food is definitely used to a higher quality. Service was fine. The greeter was very friendly. Ambiance would be the best reason to visit this place. read more

We needed a place to park and eat lunch while we waited to check in to our vacation rental. This place met those needs perfectly. But the food was disappointing. Clams were almost unchewable, fish from the fish and chips was tasteless and greasy. The catch of the day (grouper) and steamed veggies were fine, but not for the $38 price tag. read more

Great service by Erika. She provided great recommendations. We had an awesome brunch! Great restaurant on the beach. The food and service was excellent! I ordered the corn beef hash and my husband ordered the bacon burger. We had a great table outside with a view of the beach but it was pretty hot outside. Plenty of seating outside and inside. I called and they do not take reservations. On the yelp application it says they take reservations but when I called on their recording it says they do not take reservations. They probably should update it on yelp and open table. On the menu I noticed that Gottlieb's Bakery supplies their baked goods. If you are a local you know that it is a good sign. The table near us ordered the waffle and it looked fantastic! The food and service was great. We will be back. read more

Very disappointed in the modified menu options, if we knew or they posted the modified menu online we would have never come. Out of the 3 things me and my significant other tried nothing was great it was all average food. The drinks were grossly strong. Two people in our group did say the tacos were good! The positive about this place is the views and on the beach location!!!! They also do have parking at the apartment complex but it's poorly signed and we couldn't find it from the street and finding how to snake back to the restaurant is hard. Wouldn't go again, but not the worst place. Ps. Watch when you pay the girls at the counter auto magically set the tip to 22%. I am more than willing to give them the extra money with the hard times everyone is going through, but I thought it was very slimy of them to do that. read more

I like places that are right on the beach because I can't stand packing food and having to eat it on the sand. This place is perfect because you can drive up, park underneath, have lunch and then walk onto the beach. Everyone working there was sweet and they carry the ice cream my kids love in individual cups. read more

i had great expectations about the deck due to the great reviews featured here. everything checked the boxes at first - amazing view and service - but the food was simply lacking. i ordered the fish and chips ($18) and i found this to be underwhelming. the flavor was okay but the fries were dry and weren't crispy at all. we also ordered the shrimp burger ($18)and it tasted overly salty and we had the same issue with the fries. this would not have been a massive problem if this place were more affordable, however, the quality of the food is not on par with the excellent location and service provided. we also ordered a virgin pina colada and the fritto misto and these were delicious!! i would overall still recommend this restaurant and perhaps order something different. read more

Everything was fantastic and came quickly! The pokè bowls were delicious and came just as described! The carne asada was excellent but I think the sauce it comes with could have a little more flavor. Overall though it was very good! The snappers gumbo sauce was incredible but the fish was a little undercooked. My friend still ate it but just a heads up for anyone trying it! The margarita was a little too sweet for my tast but not too bad. read more

The restaurant is very popular. Lovely location. Lots of customers. My wedge salad was swimming in ranch dressing. I added shrimp. They didn't have much flavor. Overcooked. My friends enjoyed their low country boil. My frozen margarita had no flavor at all. I don't live nearby. Doubt I will ever go again. read more

Finally ate here on our last night on Tybee; it was the best meal we had, and it wasn't close. The grouper was probably the best fish I've had in my life. It was prepared perfectly on a bed of coconut rice and fresh veggies. Others in my group had peel and eat shrimp that were the best we had here. Larger and meatier than other places on the island, and sitting in an excellent butter sauce. Don't sleep on this place! read more

Wow! One of the best grouper dishes I have ever had. We ordered the steamboat grouper and it was worth every penny! $25 but the grouper was blackened and grilled perfectly, the grilled veggies had a lot of flavor, the coconut rice was cooked perfectly and the reduction on the fish was delicious! Our waitress was wonderful and I highly recommend eating here! It was a fantastic end to an awesome day on the beach at Tybee Island! read more

Had the best dining experience at The Deck for lunch. We were a group of 8 and were seated very quickly at an indoor table with incredible views. The restaurant is very clean and cute. Location was the best part of this restaurant. The oysters were delicious but the rest of the fair was bland. The peel and eat shrimp should have been split open down the back and needed more seasoning and maybe some garlic butter for dipping. My Ahi poke salad also was just too bland and the wedge salad was a quarter of a wedge for $13.. Service was pretty fast and friendly and the restaurant was clean and modern beachy feel. read more

Whoever was working the hostess stand at 7:00pm on 06/08 was incredibly rude. We walked up to the hostess stand. I paused and waited because she appeared to be doing something with another worker and then she looked up and waited for me to say something. The pause made it seem like I was in the wrong and I noticed the restaurant inside was empty, so I was like, "Oh, is it open seating?" And she scoffed and said, "No," and I said okay, "Could we have a table for three?" And she said, "It's a thirty minute wait." I looked back behind me at my friends, to see if that would be alright, and they watched her roll her eyes at me. My girlfriend gave her name and as we were leaving, I asked if they needed our number and she rolled her eyes again and said, "No. You can wait here or come back." The entire inside was empty, and outside people were packed together. I get that we're in COVID times, but space people out if your entire inside is empty, or at least be consistent with your rule and not have people back to back outside. I used to work at a restaurant, and if someone walked up to the host stand, I'd greet them, not wait for them to speak. I also wouldn't give them blank stares or wait for them to assume the restaurant's protocol. Be polite, be direct. The three of us have all worked in the restaurant industry and we're good tippers cause we get what it's like. Disappointed. read more

I went with my wife and in-laws. It was a really hot day so we sat inside by the windows. We had a 2.5 hr drive home so I didn't want to have any left overs. My wife said she wanted the fish and chips and I saw an order come out earlier and it was massive. To avoid left overs, I ordered the shrimp tacos. I thought the tacos were pretty good. They were very light. Pretty much shrimp, lettuce and the avocado crema. Usually when I hear creama I think sour cream and I'm not a fan of sour cream. If there was any in the sauce it was minimal. The fish and chips was a large portion. She couldn't finish it so I had to help her. She thought it was pretty fishy for cod. I think she was right. I like seafood so it didn't bother me. Seafood is slowly growing on her so most of what she ended up eating was the fries. Her mom got the fish and chips and said the same thing about the fishy flavor. My father-in-law got the market catch. It was some Australian bass served over potatoes and butter. I usually go with with the market catch but not when it's some imported fish. If I'm within a stones throw of the ocean and I see Market Catch, it should be something local. Otherwise, you didn't get it at a market. For a day visit I'd say the Deck is a bit of a hike when there several options closer to Savannah. If your already on the beach I suppose this would be a good option. read more

Absolute embarrassing service. I ordered take out on 6/16 at 7:03 PM. Quoted at 30 minutes, which is perfectly reasonable at a busy time of night. Order was for an fritto misto, cod/shrimp, and lobster wrap. Walk into the bar and bartender gives me the oh no look, and initially says someone else took my order. I don't know if this means rang me in, or if another guest was accidentally given my order. Few minutes go by, and two other guys walk up and say they don't have that lobster wrap. Then says he tried to call me twice but got no answer. I say no you didn't because I don't have any missed calls. I receive phone calls countless times in the past 2+ years of having this phone and never once magically had a phone call not go through, but I'm supposed to believe this story. I show my phone screen of logs with no missed calls, and surprise surprise guess who doesn't show his phone log back. I say he's lying, and he should've just said "look, we messed up, how can we fix it," but instead he gets defensive about lying as if he's somehow incapable of ever having told a lie. There only solution was to just ask what I wanted in place of it. No remorse. No apology. No "my bad." No we just messed up. I left at that point rather than give this place a cent of my money. Go look at my history of reviews on Yelp. I've almost exclusively left glowing reviews throughout my entire life. But this was the single worst treatment I've ever had from restaurant staff. I worked at a restaurant once upon a time and I fully understand mistakes happen. But the employees immediate reaction to pass the buck to someone else or find something to blame rather than take ownership and try to fix it is just sad. Maybe it's just a small sample and a one time bad day for them. But sadly I doubt it and I wouldn't ever recommend paying a cent at a place like this when there are plenty of other options out there. read more

Nice beachfront view restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. We were told by the visitor's center rep that it's the only restaurant on the beach on Tybee Island. It's hard to find behind a hotel, but has free parking available on the bottom level of the hotel parking deck; look for the marked parking spots. Nice view, especially if you sit outside, but nothing I'd rush back to try again. They have minimal options on the menu. It was mostly empty at lunch on a weekend, which should've been a tip-off. The food was average. We asked a lady at a nearby table how she liked the shrimp tacos, to which she said they were "okay". Must not have been too good since she ate half of one and sent the others back. I had the fish (cod) and chips, which were fairly good, but a little too fishy tasting to me. I swapped my fries for sweet potato fries. They were kind of bland with just a mild sweetness. read more
