    My new best friend-- Chris.

Never, ever have we been disappointed. Just great food-- but more importantly-- the vibe of the place. If feels like you are walking into your own kitchen with all your family and friends there to eat with you. It is a well run place from the moment you walk in-- coffee/tea/ordering/eating-- but you do not feel rushed. Just at your own kitchen table --- just having another cup of coffee until you start the day-- and being ok with that pace. With indoor and outdoor seating--- you have an option depending on your mood. The kitchen is fast and the staff is the best around-- so welcoming and warm. It isn't unusual to chat with Chris/hostess over breakfast. It is that wonderful feeling you get when a friend stops by for some coffee/breakfast-- priceless. Please take a moment to stop by -- it will be so worth it.

Yet another great meal at The Dewey Post! We tried a few different items this time and more towards lunch than breakfast. I also stopped by and picked up a bunch of fresh pastries to bring as a hostess gift which included cinnamon buns with maple cream cheese, blueberry scone, blueberry corn muffin, blueberry muffin, crumb cake, etc. All were fabulous!

I really wanted to love this place more. Everything looked great but my food felt like it was lacking some flavor. I got the country fried streak and felt under seasoned. My wife and kids though loved their selections. My wife and daughter shared the waffle board and my son loved his chicken salad sandwich. The scrapple was nice and crispy. Overall, it was a fairly enjoyable breakfast.

I was at Lewes Beach for the weekend and we came here to Dewey Beach for Sunday brunch. I ordered the Monte Cristo Belgian Waffle sandwich that came with home fries and hot coffee. The Waffle sandwich was made to perfection with little crystals of sugar cooked into the waffles, warm syrup on the side with ham and cheese on the inside. Super indulgent. I had to take half to go and ate it later. Yummmy!Yummy!! They were attentive and I really felt taken care of. The atmosphere is cozy, well lit, very popular place! Highly recommend for brunch!

Beautiful Wednesday morning not too crowded, great service, delicious pastry and matcha latte. My favorite was to spend a day off after a walk on the beach

Dewey Post hits the spot. Full bar and espresso bar. Indoor and outdoor seating. We had the three egg breakfast with ham and sausage gravy on the side. Yum yum! Veggie grits with an amazing amount of bacon as a meat choice. Great mimosas, Americanos and expressos to finish up. Highly recommend, friendly staff. Excellent vibes.

It's really amazing that I never made it to this place in all the years I have visited. It was right there the whole time, like right next door to the hotel I was staying at. It was just there. Most likely the reason I never got here was the fact that they are open for only breakfast, brunch, and lunch. I'm not a big fan of being up and functioning at that time, let alone eating. However, my friends made sure to get me here on my last visit. The Dewey Post is quaint. It has so much charm to it. During the warmer months you have the opportunity to eat outside on either the deck or sidewalk. Or, if you wish, you can dine inside, if you do, it feels like you are in the dining room of a very welcoming home. To get to your seats you will have to pass by the display case where there are multiple pastries on display that will undoubtedly temp you to ruin your meal. Once I got to the table my friends were at I had a menu in hand and was looking it over. There were tons of recommendations from everyone at the table, especially since they have come before. I kept going back and forth on a few items, while I was still mulling it over I did place my drink order. I wanted sweet tea, when I had asked, they told me they don't have it on the menu, but they could put some simple syrup in their iced tea. That worked just fine for me, didn't taste too bad either. I also asked for some water. I finally decided on what to get and I went with the Sausage Gravy. This was so delicious that it had me nearly licking my plate. Not sure how they make their gravy, but it was very tasty and made me want more. But I don't think that this should be overshadowing the base of the plate. That buttermilk biscuit situated underneath it all. With each bite I took, I made sure that scooped up more and more of that gravy. making sure each bite almost was covered in it. What I liked most about it was the size of the chucks of sausage within the gravy. This is a comfort food and it definitely brought me comfort. It made me sleepy and that wasn't so bad since I just had to go back right next door.

Local hot sauce. Not too hot, great flavor.

Delicious & different. Friendly, hospitable staff. Very personable server. A must for breakfast or brunch.

Breakfast burrito with scrap & eggs - meh! Perhaps sausages would be better.

Very popular restaurant! We waited almost an hour for a table! My chicken salad with bacon on a croissant was delicious! Will definitely order again! My friend's breakfast burrito with scrap & eggs was unfortunately not so good. We both ordered cold brew coffee and liked it! There is a nice bayside beach and marina nearby. Lovely!

Great stop for morning coffee and a grab and go something for breakfast to take back to the beach house or sit outside and enjoy.

Adorable place and incredible food. It's very small so wait times can be a little long but it's absolutely worth it!

Food was awesome, great presentation. The place is always hopping, so it can be loud and the service is intermittent.

The service matched that energy perfectly: attentive without being intrusive, genuinely friendly,…read moreand clearly proud of what they were serving. And then there was the food. Every single dish we ordered was outstanding, no exceptions. Each plate showed real care in preparation, with flavors that were bold, balanced, and memorable. It's rare for an entire meal to hit without a single weak note, but that's exactly what happened here. Only recommendation? Add more N/A options (less juice forward). Maybe a Phony Negroni or something. What stood out most was how the whole experience came together--great food, great service, and great atmosphere rarely align this seamlessly. Shorebreak isn't just a solid meal out; it's the kind of place you start planning your next visit to before you've even left. Highly, highly recommend.

Our favorite meal of the trip…read more Decor/service: cute place with a little outdoor sitting area. The tables are a little close together for my liking. The staff was friendly and service was quick Food: their menu has gluten allergens clearly labeled. we tried numerous appetizers including the crab soup special, fancy fries, deviled eggs, and brussel sprouts. The sprouts were our least favorite of them as they were way to light on the sauce. The other 3 were all very good and I think my wife died over the soup's flavor. The chorizo meatloaf had each component good tasting but when combined was great. The short rib entree was both beautiful and tasty!
