This spot is ole reliable when it comes to wings. The only place I'll go in Hampton Roads for my wings fix! While they have a few locations, I wouldn't consider them a chain, as they're locally owned and have a huge community presence. The menu is pretty bar-food centric; lots of good apps, salads, and a killer Mac n cheese - but the real reason anyone eats at dirty Buffalo is for the wings. The best part is how customizable they are - not only does the menu boast a plethora of sauces, rubs, and heat levels, but you can mix and match to your liking! We stumbled upon The Dirty Buffalo after visiting my son that is in the Navy and his family. We were craving wings and of course my wife said Buffalo Wild Wings. After their app didn't work and they didn't answer the phone for a take out call I convinced her to try something new. She may now be a believer in supporting local businesses! The Dirty Buffalo was great! Not being familiar with the area I called to see how far we were staying from their location. The hostess helped out and gave options on their menu since I wasn't familiar with their sauces. The food was fresh, hot and delicious! I have been as far west as Denver and far North as New York and I have found nothing that compares to TDB!! Tonight I had the Nashville Spicy Mustard and Spicy garlic parm, and bc of my surgery I may have only been able to eat one of each, I could still tell they were amazing! I came here with my family on a Wednesday evening in August. The restaurant was almost empty maybe a few locals but that was it . I ordered Mac and cheese with Buffalo chicken tender on a bed of Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was bland and the chicken strip was okay but the buffalo sauce definitely lacked depth. 8/24/20: I heard nothing but good things about this place, so I decided to order online and pick up our food. We had a variety of things from a Mac bowl to cheeseburgers to wings. As soon as I ordered, I got a call from them saying they didn't have any pulled pork today, so my daughter couldn't get that Mac bowl. She settled for the chicken parm Mac bowl instead. I was told that it would take 30 mins, but I should've known better. I got inside and was escorted to the take out area. They said they were just packing up our food. I expected it to be piping hot. When I got outside and started opening the boxes, I found that the fries were cold, onion rings cold, chicken wings warm, etc, but NOTHING was hot except me. I wasted over $40 on food that wasn't fresh. Whyyyyyyyy, oh whyyyyyyy can't I just get good food quality? This was my first time here, and I'm already disappointed. Visited late evening on Saturday night with a party of 6. There is a private parking lot but it's kinda small. There is also street parking. Do not park across the street where it says no parking or you will get towed. We saw it happen to someone. It was pretty crowded but the wait was only about 20 minutes. The service was good. So I asked Yelp where to get a decent set of wings, and they led me to the Dirty Buffalo. I am absolutely NOT disappointed in this turn of events. If you want wings, this is totally the place to get them. They have a ridiculous number of sauces ranging from mild to insanely hot as well as a variety of rubs. A big perk -- they will let you taste test sample the sauces so you can decide whether or not to go in on an order with them. Obviously, wings are the star on the menu (though they do have other stuff). They do batches in fives -- so if you order 10-15, you can switch up the sauces by fives. I really wanted a decent garlic parmesan wing, and theirs do not disappoint. Very flavorful with the right balance between the garlic and cheese. The only critique is that compared to other sauces I've tried (the cheriyaki, sweet bbq and honey mustard), the garlic parm wings have SO little sauce! Sort of disappointing. If you are going in for sides, do yourself a favor and get the mac and cheese. It's delicious and will totally break whatever diet you're trying this week. Worth it though. In addition to all this -- they have a variety of beers on tap, a fairly attentive staff, some TVs for sports, and several arcade games for kids (or kid-like adults). Ample parking on-site as well, which is a big plus for this area of Norfolk. It doesn't knock it out of the park for me enough to get the 5 star rating, but It's a solid 4-4 1/2 that I will keep coming back to time and time again. read more

Busy lunch service on a Monday evidenced by pretty full parking lot. Seated right away but waited ~5 minutes before a stand-in server took our drink order. Philly steak sandwich was average; good sirloin but would have benefited from more green peppers. I'd give Philly's (on Tidewater drive) the win over this one, boasting a slightly larger size and composition. The Mac n cheese was very good; warm al dente cellentani noodles (aka cavatappi) covered with a creamy yellow orange'ish cheese sauce with a hint of garlic and Parm dust. I added it to my sandwich. Instant ELEVATED Philly! Co-worker raved over his 10 wings, sauces in level 3 "buffalo soldier" sauce. Looking around the busy place, it seems this is their holy grail. With 32 sauces and rubs that you can sample before ordering, I'd say it's a must try. We were seated very quickly and the TVs had 3 different football games, tennis match, and trivia on the screens. It was clean and not loud. The chili claimed to be spicy it was super mild...extremely kid friendly. The kids ordered wing plates w/fries. The BBQ sauce ones tasted better than the mild buffalo. Fries were crisp and seasoned right. the boneless wings were meaty and had a perfect amount of crisp breading. Husband and I shared the 20 wing 2 side combo. We got 1/2 Cajun buffalo and 1/2 spicy garlic ranch. We chose the cole slaw and Mac salad as our sides. I honestly didn't taste the Cajun nor the garlic ranch flavors...I wish those came through more. Folks this was our first time here and I'm confident to say we'll be back. Our meal we very good. I had the Dirty Chick - triple. It was a lot of food and filled me up for the rest of the day. Wifey had a Big Time Burger and she really enjoyed it as well. We also shared a Chic Parm MAC. That was very very good. We couldn't finish our meal is was a bunch of food. Food was okay- the wings were good but the dirty tots were soggy and mediocre at best. We were seated by 12:40 on a Thursday, ordered quickly, and didn't get our food until 1:40. There were maybe 15 customers in the restaurant (our group included), so the wait made no sense.
