    Why I love this place!
    Marianne W.

The District had my attention when it first opened 12 years ago. I've put off my review because I thought I would return. I have been pleased that they survived all these years. It appears if you're a fan it's all or nothing compared to the one star reviews! I'm sorry I missed a Yelp UYE years ago. I wanted to meet the other Yelpers but I'm just not a fan of this atmosphere. If you want to know the truth I would go across the street to Barking Dog in a heartbeat!! Check it out and write a review.

Stopped in for lunch with a couple of friends and was pleasantly surprised. Although modestly rated by other Yelp reviewers, we found much to like about our experience. To start, a generous happy hour from 12-8. Some decent beers on tap and the food was not too shabby. Service was very friendly. The bartender in particular. We'll be back!

Great tasting. Fresh fries It was really really quickly. Next time I will order the fries without salt.

It's a raw 3.5. It wins on decor and I just came back from London, so it was a pleasant surprise to see a real pub. Will come back to watch football but not eat again Food 3/5 The veggie burger was dry and I said a side of broccoli, which means I wanted the fries with the burger but ordered and extra side of broccoli They subbed the broccoli for the fries Burger was so dry I had to order a side of avocado Juniper breeze tasted like a jolly rancher and not cocktail, which can be good or bad depending on your agenda :) Shepherds pie-- WINNER of the night. So much potato AND meat Service 2.5/5 The staff is not busy nor is the restaurant but they are spacey and you gotta flag them down to get their attention Even a side of avocado took over 7 mins albeit nobody else was eating We had to get the bus boy and host because we could not flag down our server in a non busy restaurant Price 4/5 One drink 2 entrees Side of avocado $69 before tip Cleanliness 4/5 Bathroom is 3 stalls in basement Sinks are separate from toilet

Came to the district because I was looking for a casual brunch place (with walk-in availability) - the menu was pretty standard but the cocktail options were great. Our food came pretty quickly and my French toast was tasty. There's definitely a sports vibe which could be a pro or con, depending.

I stumbled upon this bar while on the upper Eastside. I just missed happy hour but the drinks were still very fairly priced. I was able to get a seat and watch the Knicks play. I ordered Manhattan clam chowder which was a special for that night. It was OK. My cocktail was delicious! The wings were good with the sauce on side. Price point was good and that needs to be acknowledged as sometimes New York's drink prices can be outrageous. Staff was friendly and accommodating. They have indoor and outdoor seating, and they even have a TV in their outdoor area. I Would definitely recommend this place and return again on a Friday night.

Cuban sandwich with sweet potato fries

First off, we are not experts of Irish food so my review is purely based on one trip to Ireland and experiences in NYC pubs. So the Irish breakfast is authentic with the black and white pudding, grilled tomatoes, and fries. Very tasty and hearty. Cuban sandwich might not be the most authentic but the ham and bacon show they care...coffee is fine. The highlight is the sweet potato fries - crispy and even a little burnt, but I just couldn't stopping eating them! Service overall was good. We got welcomed in with a big smile and got our order within a reasonable waiting time for a Sunday brunch. However, they didn't come back and check in with us later. At the end of the day it's a sports pub for people to gather and have a fun time, not a destination for fine dining.

The crispy shallots added just the right amount of texture against the velvety base, and each spoonful layered flavor in a way that felt both comforting and elevated. For my main, I had the kichuri, and Chef Alex Guzman absolutely shines here. He is a star--full stop. There's a clarity and confidence in his cooking that you can taste. It's a perfect date night spot to share deliciousness with a loved one. My friend and I shared three flavorful dishes-- a radicchio salad, the Confit Duck Leg and the Paccheri, a pasta with house- made pork sausage and broccoli rabe. The duck was so tender it fell off the bone. The pasta was intricate and tasted perfect when it was first served then veered a tad salty as it marinated (but still great). The salad was gorgeous on its own but even better accompanied by the mains. The duck was probably my favorite, but every bite complemented the next thing so well, that all of my senses were thoroughly engaged. I truly was having such a deep experience with the food that at one point I asked my friend to stop talking so that I could properly take in all the flavors. Oops. She loved the food too, so thankfully she understood. We topped off the meal with the buñuelos. We liked the sauce, but I'd say it's not memorable. The chocolate fondue was great and the poached pear was okay, we ended up sending it back because it wasn't what we expected, no biggie tho shit happens. Upon looking around that's when we noticed one of the chefs making a disgusting mistake. He was wearing the same gloves he used to wash dirty dishes to prepare foods we and the entire restaurant ate. Read on if you desire genuine knowledge and only dine out with intention. First, and most importantly, shouts to Myles and the team working this day. The salmon in my Jerk Salmon Bowl and my friend's Atlantic Salmon Bowl was flaky, tender, juicy, and perfect. The rices (white with Jerk, black forbidden with Atlantic) confirmed and celebrated what Chef JJ Johnson wrote in his must-have book The History of Rice. This is to say there is no rice like FIELDTRIP rice: soft, sturdy, sweet, savory, herby, attaches to sauce and protein and vegetables when you want it to, remains on its own when you simply want to enjoy it by itself. The plantains and greens that accompany are ridonkulous icing on the salmon sundae. If you aren't a fan of Brussels sprouts, you likely have good reasons. And, you owe it to yourself to order Crispy Brussels. Besides being cooked so they are toothsome, textured, and still sweet, they're quartered or sixthed, which makes them easier to enjoy and perfect carriers for the crispy bits that top them. I love oxtail. To enjoy this rarely served beef element in a perfectly wrapped and fried egg roll added to my adoration. After bite one, I literally unwrapped my half to see how the shredded meat was coexisting. No saucing was necessary, though the Avocado Cilantro and New Jack Sticky BBQ (both of which were enjoyed by me via spoon) would have enhanced the roll most righteously. Lastly, when you dine in or take away from FIELDTRIP, you need Nana's Bread. It is what you might enjoy if a freshly made flour tortilla, naan, pita, and focaccia met, joined, and were put through a presser. I would dip and dredge Nana's Bread in everything. Your next meal needs to come from FIELDTRIP. Period.
