It was pretty crowded and had a steady stream of people coming and going but we didn't have any issues getting a table. We didn't order any appetizers, but we each ordered beers. For our entrees, I had the Shrimp Po Boy as a wrap(I love that option) my fiancé ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken, our friends ordered the Steak Stir Fry and the Shrimp and Rice Bowl. Everything was well prepared and steaming hot when it arrived. I gave 4 stars because I felt that the Nashville Hot Chicken should've been an entire chicken breast , but the flavor was immaculate. It was a Sunday and we got seated around 1:35. The waitress was attentive at first getting our drinks and ordering our apps. After that, I had to ask around if anyone had seen our waitress. About 15-18 minutes passed. We ran out of drinks and finished our apps before she came back. We finally ordered our food after about 30 minutes of being seated. Finally our drinks were refilled. About 20 minutes later our food arrived. My boneless wings were luke warm as well as the fries. Another person in our party had to ask for more fries as his were cold. Our drinks ran dry multiple times, and at the end of this ordeal, I came close to walking back into the kitchen to demand my check. The Cherry Sutherlin Ale and Hazefest IPA are excellent beers if u r looking for recommendations for a good beer. The pizza and wings appear to be very good according to my friends. Some friends suggested this restaurant instead of going to our normal spot at Drakes. Sadly, I just don't get the hype. The place was packed and some low tables are positioned immediately behind high tops. So you couldn't seat both tables to capacity because there isn't enough room. The layout just isn't functional. We only ordered off the appetizer menu because we weren't feeling anything on the menu. We got the nachos and bang bang shrimp. The shrimp was super hard so over fried and the bang bang sauce just seemed to be a tame hot sauce. It lacked a lot of flavor and had 0 creamy flavor that makes bang bang sauce so good. The nachos were sooooooo dry. They used shredded cheese and barely any so several nachos were just chips. The chicken was extremely dry as well which didn't help at all. The live music, the music or even just being able to watch every single game that you want all while eating. This has become a spot that my fiance and I live to go a lot now. Away on a weekend getaway, with no responsibilities results in being awake much later than normal. It was 11 o'clock at night and we found ourselves hungry two hours from home and in need of something satisfyingly delicious. We entered and quickly sat at the bar so that we could finish watching the Astros play and we're probably greeted by the bartender and provided menus. As we had already been drinking wine, we settled with a glass of wine and water and ordered a few appetizers to eat. Our selections were the watermelon bruschetta, dirty style wings, and sweet potato fries. We figured we needed something cool to go with this possible spice of the wings. The wings were amazing! Perfectly seasoned and spiced. They were not a overly dry on the inside and crispy on the outside. Accompanied with the bruschetta, the spice was very well offset by the coolness of the watermelon and whipped feta. The bruschetta was delicious. We were pleasantly pleased not only at how it tasted but also it's presentation, it is a very visually appealing dish. My only suggestion would be for there not to be as much whipped feta on each piece of bread. Simply because by the time you get to the end of the appetizer plate, the feta seems to overpower the other tastes and textures. Overall, we had a great dining and drinking experience. I have been to this place on multiple occasions due to living in the apartments behind them. I no longer wish to return here and have conflicted feelings on the place. Since I've been here multiple times I can tell you all of the different dishes I've had and my experience with them. Firecracker Shrimp - This shrimp is absolutely delicious! I had this mostly because of their Devour Indy menu and if it wasn't so pricy, I would 100% reorder it every time! French Onion Soup - You can't go wrong with French Onion Soup, it's cheap and the soup had a lot of flavor. Cajun Mac and Cheese - If I wasn't trying to cut carbs, I would be eating this dish EVERY SINGLE TIME I CAME. I think they make some of the best Cajun Mac I've had in awhile! It includes sausage, shrimp, and plenty of spices to give you a kick! Cheeseburger Eggrolls - Honestly, they tasted okay and seemed way overpriced for what you get out of it. I only ordered it once and don't plan on it again. Steak - So I cannot locate this option due to it being a Devour Indy special. Honestly, it was the most awful steak I had in a long time. I literally took one bite and felt like not only was it obviously frozen, but it was VERY undercooked - it was requested as Medium rare - and when you bit into it the texture was beyond chewy and reminded me of a microwaveable steak. This was sent back immediately Chicken Madeira - Again, another dish which was sent back at the same time as the steak. This heavily reminded me of a TV dinner. Even the taste and texture were similar to the ones I had as a kid. I hate to send food back, but I didn't want to pay for something I didn't even want to eat. TDT Nachos - This the last item I ever ordered from this restaurant. I requested chips on the side - again, low to no carb - waited 20 minutes and got the chips with the toppings on it and they responded they would come back with chips on the side. We stopped them and stated we needed chips on the side and the toppings on a separate plate. Pictured below is how they served it...Honestly, I have worked in a back kitchen before and I cannot tell if this is the cooks being overly complimentary or if they were giving a mocking request. I'll assume it's the latter of being overly complimentary. If there was ever a complaint - the manage is quick to make up for any mistakes. I give the manager 5 stars in that regard. Whenever I did the Devour Indy and had a dessert included, he gave us the dessert for free and even gave us another one. The staff either need a new system or more help. The service here has always been waning as most of the time I am left waiting before I can at least order a drink or an appetizer. The last time i went was a last straw. I understand when a restaurant is busy you have to give the staff additional time for food and drinks. Not once did I have a refill on water abs the waiter and passed our table multiple times. We assumed it was because he was new. It took a long time to get my check so I could leave ASAP, it was the first time I was going to just go to the front and pay for the dinner but the waiter saw me putting on my mask and quickly grabbed the receipt. Perhaps he assumed I was about to dine and dash XD I give this place three stars because I will admit a lot of the food is really good and the atmosphere is nice, but the waiting service is not as good as it was before Covid and I'm not sure if it's because of a constant change in staff. Out of the many times I have been here I've only had to ask for the manager once - related to the steak and the chicken. I personally don't plan on coming back for awhile. We went on 12/14 at 1:30. Stood at the host stand for about 5-10 mins with no one helping and then noticed the sign said take a load off and seat yourself. We took a seat and waited another 15-20 mins until a waiter came over and rudely told us that if we want to be served we should probably wait till a host actually seats you and then rushed off without listening as we said oh it said seat yourself and where should we sit? We left and as we walked out the sign still said seat yourself. We mentioned to the host stand they should flip the sign and then looked dumbfounded as we explained and then didn't offer any help or a new seat. Building: We arrived to District Tap on. a Saturday around 430 PM. No heavy traffic. No long wait time. The building has a huge patio outside that is covered with lights above. The patio opens up to the restaurant on warmer days and sometimes they have live bands play. The host required for us to put our name down, provide our phone number, and wait in our car u til we are texted about our table. We received a text within 5 mins and was shown to our table. Atmosphere: Sports bar, cozy feel with dim lights and TVs surrounding everywhere, including the bathroom. Still kid friendly. The bar is a complete 360 and wraps around entirely in the middle of the restaurant. Food and drinks: You will scan the menu on your phone and order with your server. There is a huge selection of beers on tap and a full bar of alcohol. I had the chicken madeira. Overall it was pretty good and plentiful. A generous pour for my double shot of knob creek was appreciated. Covid related: All servers wear masks. You will need to wear one also until you are at your table. Service: our server was pretty great and my family had a good time. The booths are very spacious. Will recommend to come here again and hopefully enjoy a night where the live band is playing in the warmer months. read more
