Had dinner here on a busy Friday night. Our waitress was very sweet and they were very accommodating with our special orders (dietary needs). This place used to be owned by Woodloch. I used to work at Woodloch so we decided to go there. Woodloch is usually top notch hand it was sort of the same idea with this eatery. I got a Reuben with fries. The sandwich was skimpy on the meat but the fat was trimmed, it was pricey (typical Woodloch). It is very good for the area. I mean there is pretty much nothing in Hawley or Honesdale. The staff is attentive hand helpful. All things considered it is worth it. read more

Maybe I've seen Dirty Dancing too many times, but there is something about classy mountain resorts and restaurants that I really love. The Dock did not disappoint, and it was the best meal we had in the area, hands down. The ambiance and decor is fantastic, the service was quick and attentive, and the food was delicious. We arrived in a Friday evening around 5:30 and were seated immediately. The woman who greeted us at the front desk gave us the option of indoor or outdoor seating and we chose outdoor. My kids were excited to sit out by the lake, and were given glow sticks on long strings to take with them. As a mom of three, it thrills me when a restaurant goes out of its way for my kids instead of treating them like a burden. That continued at our table when they were given colored pencils to color cute little pictures of the lake on their menus. We had a nice shady spot with a good Our server came to us immediately and we put in a drink and appetizer order. We opted for the "Box of Donuts" - shrimp and lobster hush puppies. They came out quickly and were delicious. My only complaint is that the serving size (five small meatball sized puppies) was a bit on the small size. We ordered the special surf and turf burger (burger on brioche topped with a crab cake) and the shrimp and lobster roll. The burger was overdone, but the crab was on point. Very little filling and almost a crab imperial texture. It was perfect for the burger. The lobster roll was incredible. The seasoned fries were tasty and perfectly portioned. The kids both got chicken finger meals and they were pretty straightforward. They enjoyed them. I'd definitely recommend The Dock to anyone vacationing at Lake Wallenpaupack. It was probably the one restaurant we hit up this week that we will make a point to come back to. read more

We went to The Dock in the hopes for a delicious relaxing lunch time. We called several times early on to get reservations but we were told it's walk in. The reason why we called several times were to know if we need reservations and they weren't clear about it at first. So we are a big family of 8 and we all showed up. The front desk looked frazzled and the gentleman at the desk seemed frustrated. First he told us the wait is one hour then it was one hour and 45 minutes. We didn't want to wait that long so we left to explore then we realized that some people were doing take out and eating it by the docks so we decided to do the same. So I left the family members hanging around and went back up to the restaurant with my sister. Again front desk was very busy and frazzled. We were told to scan a code to access the menu so we did. We put in two separate orders. My order was taken by the gentleman at the front desk and in the middle of it he left me. I had my bank card in my hand for at least 15 minutes waiting around. I asked the girls at the front desk if I can pay for it they told me to wait for the gentleman. He was in no sight. I finally received my lemonades and went out to give it to my family members. Then came back and I was still waiting for my food finally in 30 minutes I got my food and I was asked if I paid for it. I said no I was waiting to pay for awhile and I was told I have to wait for the gentleman to take my payment. Finally he took my payment. I was taking back with the madness and they were not coordinated well. I went to give out the food then we were missing utensils then had to go back and get the utensils. My sister was still waiting for her food. Finally she got her food. We ordered surf and turf burgers and on the menu it said lobster salad I thought it was going to be on the side but it was just on top of the burger. It was a messy burger and no utensils or napkins packed until I had to go back to them. The lobster roll salad was super salty. So we spent over $200 for lunch for sketchy service. I understand it was the day before 4th of July places gets crazy but they need to have it together. Each time when someone walked in they gave different wait times. So beware and have patience if you want to eat here. read more

We went to the Dock for the Lobster Fest. We were seated outside on the deck which was lovely. It was heated by a beautiful fireplace and had a beautiful view of the lake. My friend and I both ordered the stuffed whole lobster for 42.99 each. More than I ever would spend on myself. My friend was starving and asked if dinner came with bread. The waitress said no but she would bring us a basket. Dinner arrived and was plated beautiful! Along with the stuffed lobster was potatoes that were yummy and cauliflower. Although the lobster was a little soggy. Everything was hot. I was really disappointed that we were not served a salad. For the price, I would not do this again. We had dinner here on a Wednesday evening; it was very busy and we did not have reservations, but they were able to seat our party of 7 in the bar area. Orders included crab cakes, steak and blue cheese salad, and kids' meals. Food was very good, easily one of the better meals we have had in the area in the past few years. The kids' menu was reasonable although my kids said the hot dogs were spicy. Chicken tenders were a hit. My husband and I had the cucumber cooler to drink and it was wonderful if you like gin and tonics. In the future, we would make a reservation. However, servers were very kind and accommodating to my 3 children. The wait for the food was longer than we expected but that was the only downside. My friends and I came for dinner this past Sunday hoping to get a table outside, but the wait was quite long. We ended up sitting in the dark bar area and had a nice time. One friend and I shared the peach, strawberry, avocado salad and the fettuccini vegetable scampi. Both meals were DELICIOUS. Came here on a Saturday night around 7 with a group of 6. We asked the hostess how long the wait would be and she said 2 1/2 hours. Although I thought that wait time was absurd with the amount of open tables I saw, me and my group decided to wait. The manager came over and told us we could wait and get some drinks at the pool bar next door (only good thing about the property). After waiting the full 2 1/2 hours, we went back up and saw another group of 6 that came after us be seated. When asked why they got seated before us, the hostess said I thought you only wanted to be seated inside (those words never came out of anyone's mouth). Finally, we were seated about 5 minutes later. They said the first round of drinks were on them for the long wait time, so I appreciate that. The food was absolutely disgusting!! We ordered the nachos and they couldn't even bother to melt real cheese on them. It was this weird cheese sauce with 4 jalapeños on it. I ordered the skirt steak and it was as rubbery as can be. For some reason, it had this mexican seasoning on it with red and green peppers, almost like it was like fajitas...which is not what I ordered at all. We were looking for Erhardt's, not knowing it was sold and now is The Dock. We were pleasantly surprised! Good ambience, wonderful service and delicious food. I had the lobster/shrimp roll with sweet potato wedges. Very good! And the sweet potato wedges are the BEST! A great new location for a good meal. While I didn't have a cocktail, the cocktail menu sounds interesting and is very appealing and tempting. Looking forward to our next visit. read more

We ate here a few times when it was Ehrhardt's and found it decent but nothing special. This is a step up. We came on a Monday after the usual lunch time. I really enjoyed my Ahi Niçoise salad but I don't understand entree size salads served without bread. The bread that came on request was a wonderful crusty whole grain. The seafood salad roll (shrimp and lobster) was good on a nice brioche roll, but very heavy on the mayonnaise. Opening with the chowder was a good idea. Good service, nice setting. Will be interested how they handle this if it gets busy. read more

Food was average at best for a premium price.. Then when we spoke to mgt about this poor service waitstaff complained to all who would listen about this "not being "their fault and nothing they could have done about it" We could all hear this! Wait time - this place is packed but it's well worth it. Call in advance or bring some sunglasses and sit down by the water while you wait. The view will make the time fly. Parking - across the street. Ambiance - very New England beach house inside. There's a comfortable area for waiting for your table (although you should really wait outside. Seriously. The view.) The inside dinning areas are lovely and spacious. But where you really want to sit is outside. There's a fireplace with a round table where you could seat a small party or there's three tables out on the edge of the deck that look out right over the lake. Sit there for dinner at sunset. You won't be sorry. Menu - Great choices for seafood lovers and some good options for those who prefer their meals a bit less ocean-y. I am a vegitarian and I loved their black bean burger. It had lots of flavor and was very filling. Bread is also a must have. If you order a non-sandwich entree they bring it to you automatically. If not, just ask for some. It's got honey in it and tastes AMAZING. Staff - I know it sounds crazy, but the real reason I'd come back here isn't even the food (although the food is great). It's the staff. Maybe half a dozen people interacted with me during my meal and every single one of them was attentive without being intrusive, polite, quick to respond, and brought a sunny disposition. Seriously. If I could give it zero stars I would. A friend told me that the food was better under the new owners, but it is terrible and WAY overpriced. That doesn't even begin to describe the awful service. We were the first ones seated outside for lunch. By the time we left an hour later, all the tables that were seated after us had received their appetizers and entrees. The server kept saying our food was coming up, but it never did. When my boyfriend decided to check to see where it was and the waiter said the same thing again, I just got tired of it and decided to leave. Then we had to wait another 10 minutes just to get the check because the waiter disappeared. He actually brought out our food to go, even though we no longer wanted it. There was no talking to the manager, no compensation, and the 4 female workers standing at the desk did noting to help. I will never come back here. read more

This place is indeed a gem. Their Italian specialties are wonderful! We had the French Onion soup to start and it was not too salty as many are. My hubby had the pork chop and I had the Chicken Parmesan. The pork chop was well seasoned and quite tender. Min had a chicken breast quarter that had been pounded flat, seasoned with delightful breadcrumbs and pan fried and topped with melted mozzarella and marinara and it tasted like the best East Coast Italian! Tender, juicy and delicious. Again, I was worried about excess salt, but it was seasoned perfectly. We finished with the Limoncello parfait which comes served in a champagne flute. It was light and not too sweet and you get to keep the glass! This is the best place to eat out in the Hawley, Tafton, Lake Wallenpaupak area and we will be back! read more

If i could give negative stars I would. I don't even know where to begin with how disappointed I was with this place. They market this restaurant to be a fancier lakeside dinning experience and it was nothing better than a dive bar. Actually it was worse than a dive bar. You can get better service and food for a MUCH better price at a local bar called The Old Ranger not far from here. The food is not good in any sense at all I quite literally would rather eat at McDonald's. The service wasn't bad but nothing special either. There is really only one table that has a good view of the lake from the deck which is odd because the lakeside view is kind of the whole point of dining here. The food and drinks are so ridiculously overpriced its not even funny. Me and my girlfriend barely ate 2 bites from our meals and they never even asked why we didn't finish, if we wanted something else, etc, NOTHING. The guac... BROWN and OLD.. The sauce on the braised short ribs was sour and the broccoli was brown. The pasta tasted like it was microwaved and the chicken tasted like rubber plastic. We paid for both meals that were not eaten and a couple of drinks for over $100. I would not recommend this place to anyone, ever. read more

I am typing this review while I am sitting in the restaurant still waiting to be seated at 8:40 for an 8:00pm reservation that I was told to be on time for under no uncertain terms (was told to definitely be here at least 10 mins early). "They have ruined Erhardts." This is what my dining companion said. The food is overpriced and terrible. Sweet potato fries had large chunks of salt on them, so salty they were nearly inedible. Our other meals were just not what you'd expect for the prices paid. We are locals who used to come here often. not sure we will be back. Decent family restaurants are scarce in Hawley. The food at the Settlers Inn is amazing, but it's more of a place for a special occasion, not a regular meal. Glass also caters to vacationers. We need a family restaurant with excellent food (Settlers quality), affordable prices and a family atmosphere, not another tourist trap. Create a place like that, and the place would be busy year-round and the owners wouldn't have to worry about business slowing down in the winter. read more

Once we heard The Dock was going by a different name, we decided to give it another try after bad experiences when it was Ehrhardt's. We were wrong! Our main complaint wasn't that the service was completely disorganized, which it was, but rather the rude attitude of the hostesses and staff. They ignored their guests and were completely ignorant and unprofessional when approached with usual questions, such as asking about wait time, when they should have told their guests that without any prompting. We left and went to another restaurant where we actually ran into another party that had been waiting at The Dock but had also left disappointed in The Dock's attitude as well.
