Unfortunately was unable to even eat here. I've eaten here years before and always had a pleasant experience. Wait times were longer as expected and was told a half hour wait. After waiting one hour I approached the counter to ask how much longer and was told I was put in for an hour and 15 minute wait. Tried explaining that we were told only half an hour and the hostess continued stating "we couldn't have told you half an hour". Felt the situation was handled unprofessionally and unfortunately chose to leave the restaurant and go elsewhere. Hopefully next experience will be better. read more

For such a great looking restaurant and a perfect location on Lake Wallenpaupack I wish I could give it more than 2 stars. I have been there four times over two years and never had a good meal there. The food is just bad, hard to describe, but it is never an experience where you say "that was good let's go back again". Each time we go we say "let's give it one more chance" and it always is a strike out. Wait staff is horrible, wait times when there are tables empty and the bar area and bartenders are terrible. I think people keep going back mainly because it's on the lake and they want that summer dining experience (whether being a resident, vacationer, or summer renter). This is a wonderful restsurant with warm and friendly staff and patrons. The pretzel was great, salad on a pizza? Really? Its amazing. The loaded mac is unlike anything Ive ever dreamed of! Even though we were snowed in abit over the weekend, I had an absolute blast learning about the area and couldn't dream of a better family of places to stay and enjoy. We stayed at Silver Birches resort and this restaurant is adjacent to it. We ate here for dinner and breakfast. The food for dinner was ok nothing to brag about. We had breakfast here the next morning and u have to order from a chalkboard sign on the wall which was weird. The breakfast food was very good and the price as well. read more

Not happy. Hostess seemed irritated and miserable. We had to tell somebody that we were in fact seated in the bar area and still had to wait for acknowledgement. Diet soda came out with no carbonation. Pretzel board was really good. All food was ok, not worth the price. The waitress was very nice although very forgetful. The bathrooms smelled very bad, had toilet paper all over the floor and the soap dispenser cover was on the counter. The dessert was good but took 15 min to come out. None of these things by themselves is a big deal but for all of them in one visit for an upper scale restaurant is very disappointing. Second time here, will not be back. read more

I'll start by saying that we were very excited about dining at The Dock after seeing the menu and looking at photos of the decor. However, the excitement didn't last very long. The first problem was they completely screwed up our reservation after we called and verified several times. We asked for a table outside and when we arrived they lost our reservation and said that they don't guarantee tables in a specific area. That made no sense because there were 2 tables available where we wanted to sit, but the hostess said they were reserved for another party coming in, which totally contradicted what they told us. The hostess did make good and seated us outside where we originally wanted to. The main dining area was freezing so we were happy to be outside. Service was spotty and it didn't seem like they had much experience working in a restaurant. The food was ok. Prices were high and i really expected a better meal based on what they charged. I ordered the grouper special that came with a pineapple rum sauce and i was smart to get that on the side. It tasted like they opened a can of crushed pineapple and added some rum to it.The grouper was ok but overcooked. The brown rice and 3 tiny pieces of broccoli that came with it were bland. My wife's filet was very tasty, but to me the mashed potatoes tasted like they came from a box, or some instant potatoes were added to fresh. The key lime pie was good, the chipwich was ok. Breakfast was included with our stay at the Silver Birches next door. The weird thing was we don't normally eat breakfast right away so when we asked if we could get some coffee the server said she had to charge us for it, so we decided to eat. Everyone got the same thing, a platter that had french toast, bacon, home fries, fresh fruit and scrambled eggs. The eggs were very dry and overcooked but the bacon was really good. everything was lukewarm, but the coffee was good and it was nice and hot. When we went to check out of our room, they charged us $27 for the included breakfast, but it was taken off our bill. Maybe it depends on who is cooking the food at any given time given so many mixed reviews, but i wouldn't recommend this restaurant. read more

Stopped in for lunch here. Cute place along the water. The service was friendly. We had a couple appetizers ...I had the lobster chowder ,then we split the Lobster Neapolitan , Lobster mac and cheese (it's lobster fest right now) then a brick oven pizza. First off the soup was amazing, second on the lobster dishes...they didn't skimp on the lobster at all. The pizza was good and perfect to split. Based on service, this place probably deserves a 3. But I'm giving it a 4 based entirely on the fact that I have been dreaming about their "pretzel board." Service was slow and we couldn't understand our 45 minute wait when there were ample tables available the entire time we waited. The hostess seemed annoyed by every person who came in. However, Our waitress was polite and nice. The chef was unwilling to put pepperoni on half of our 12 inch pizza- which seemed kind of lazy and made it difficult to appease both of my small kids. Don't really understand how this place only got 3 stars. The food was great, not the best I ever had but REALLY great. The service was phenomenal. The view over the lake was breath taking. Not the best visit. From the not so friendly hostess to the overcooked and over priced dinner entrees, the Dock fails to please. While the servers wear masks, there appears to be no sanitizing tables between uses. Nice tech touch is using menus linked to your cell phone (paper, single use menu on request). Very limited lake views from outside terrace. Booming wedding DJ voice and music at outside lower level venue could be heard at our table quite a distance away. Won't be back anytime soon. read more

The service was great, but everything else was a disappointment. Ordered the spinach and artichoke dip which tasted more like a Parmesan dip; the spinach was pretty much non existent and it had some chunks of, I think, cream cheese that weren't blended. I ordered a cheeseburger which was okay but nothing extraordinary. The seasoned fries were something you'd get out of a freezer bag. I used to love this place when it was ehrhardts a few years ago and I heard a lot of bad stories since the Genzlinger clowns took over and was against trying it after many sub-par (and ridiculously expensive) meals at their flagship settlers inn. Curiously unfortunately won over and I, along with my girlfriend, stopped in tonight. We had planned on a couple of drinks and an app or 2 at the bar. We were greeted at the door by a group of 4 obviously drunk patrons who were smoking and refused to move enough to let me open the door for my girlfriend to walk in. Once inside we went to the bar. They have a very poor and limited wine selection so we stuck with beer to start. Both my shocktop and my girlfriends Sam Summer were flat enough that there was zero head upon serving. I informed the bartender who said "wow, no one else complained" yet offered to comp us on another drink. We politely declined, tipped the bartender and fled to greener pastures. I will not be returning by boat or car. Too bad they ruined it because the location and view is beautiful. read more

Arrived at 8:15 hoping to eat dinner for 2 at the bar, a request that was immediately scoffed at, because the kitchen closed in 45 minutes, and there was a 45 minute wait for food.... not for a table... but for food. We were told we could sit at the bar.... but were not allowed to order food. How could I ever assume a kitchen would be open past 9pm? For DINNER? How foolish of me. I would have been fine with these hours if I hadn't been met by 3 members of the wait staff who were clearly waiting for night owl idiots like myself who were hoping to get food from a 1/4 full restaurant past 8pm. I strongly advise avoiding this restaurant. The reservations/seating is flatout weird (you have to call ahead to sit at the bar even if theres noone there). Finally got seated in the bar area and was sitting there 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. Then when we finally were, we were told he would be with us in a few minutes. A group came into the bar area to get drinks while they wait for a table (keep in mind we've been here for 7+ minutes at this point and dont have drinks) and the bartender (who is also the server who told us he would be with us in a few minutes) serves the whole party drinks AND refills drinks for another customer. So it took about 12 minutes of us sitting there before we finally got to put a drink order in. I wont put all the blame on the server/bartender as he had alot of responsibilities, but basic serving should say to serve on first come first serve basis. Restaurant is horrible staffed and cant even handle a moderately busy crowd. Manager is also a huge jerk and just very incompetent. read more

I've been coming here for two years . Yesterday was terrible. . The lobster bisque used to be a little chunky with small potatoes and actual lobster . Yesterday although tasty , it was a puree,which is cheaper to make Suggestions-( stick to what works) . I had the fish basket which was doughy and soft - ( less fish same price) It was oily,oily,oily. Someone (chef) tried to reconstruct tartar sauce . It was horrible and other diners said the same. Please just put out regular tartar sauce . If you improve something taste it first . The sauce had a curry like bad taste . The other diners had the same opinion . Look at how many sauces were not eaten. The crake cakes didn't have the same flavor as before and they were dry and burnt . You need a new recipe or go back to who ever cooked them in the past I understand that covid is effecting your bottom line , but never let it dictate your quality and consistency. This is our first time so perhaps it may be ok for others but our first impressions are such we will not be considering returning. The menu looked interesting. The atmosphere was clean and well kept. However, the food, this is probably better looked as bar food than dining. The first issue was when the salads came out the lettuce wilted, when we told the waitress all she said was 'I know'. Ordered a steak well done and it came out medium had to send back to cook further. Ordered sourdough, ham and swiss. The bread was very dry and hard to bite into, no butter as if the sandwich was made then put in the oven to toast. Also had pot roast which was dry and fatty with not much flavor. As I said I would think of this as more for bar food than dining as the pricier items were not done well. read more

This honestly wasn't that great. Food came out cold and wasn't even that good. We were told that there was a new bartender and I could tell, the drinks were pretty mediocre. SO sweet and SO off balance in terms of ratios. I ended up ordering the "pork nachos" and there was not a lick of pork on any of it. Chips were soggy by the time they got out and nothing was warm. Let me start by saying we were extremely excited that the same group that owns Settlers INN and Ledges was buying Ehrhardt's (Dock) and giving it the much needed overdue facelift. Especially since it has the best view on the lake. The new outside seating area and bar has been redone and is very nice. The main dining room has not changed much and was very disappointing and still has an old feel to it. The new menu was very uninspired and not well thought out with very little options. But the worst part was that the food and service were terrible and it looks like they kept a few of the old Ehrhardt's managers that are rude, burnt out and need to go. I have faith that the new owners will take all the negative feedback and make the appropriate changes needed because we all want them to be successful and succeed! read more

Went to the Dock for the first time this past weekend with my wife and family. When I walked in, everyone was nice and it looked like a nice establishment. Dining area and pub area were clean and the staff was very accommodating. However this is where the accolades stop. We sat outside on the deck and were greeted with an extremely loud A/C unit. Then we ordered dinner. A turkey sandwich with sweet potato fries (2 small pieces of turkey and what tasted like frozen French fries), crab cakes (80% filler) and scallops (just not that good). So all in all, if you want a place to hang out and knock a few back, the dock is it, but for good quality and not overpriced food, you better go somewhere else because you'll be very disappointed. read more
