My boyfriend and I recently had the pleasure of dining here for breakfast. Our server, Maria, was very sweet and attentive to our needs :) The breakfast selection was casual and easy to choose from. In addition, they had a variety of small plates and spreads offered continental style-- our favorite was the smoked salmon :3. The avocado toast was also amazing-- broke da mouth! As we were there, Marina, the manager of the establishment, checked in with us and was also hospitable and caring, her warm smile and friendly demeanor set the tone for a wonderful dining experience. The atmosphere was clean and modern, cannot complain! Overall, we highly recommend for breakfast. Everything about the food here is first class, including the service in ambience. I especially enjoyed the breakfast buffet.

Arguably one of the worst dining experiences in the decade we've been dining in Honolulu. I woke up the next day with food poisoning. The friendly bartender/ host took us to our table and it went downhill from there. We ordered the Kale Quinoa Salad to share as our first course but they ran out of kale so they substituted mixed greens. The restaurant was not busy but the server forgot to take our menus and give us plates for our salad after we asked and reminded them. The roasted chick peas were stale and inedible. We ate the greens and left all the garbanzo beans on the plate. We ordered the Szechuan noodles and steak frites medium rare. It was a huge red flag when our server questioned my choice of ordering steak medium rare. When the entree came, it all made sense. The steak came out blood rare/raw and the Szechuan noodles were so soggy and overly seasoned with spice we couldn't eat it despite having a high heat tolerance. The fries were the only thing edible. The meal was so bad we didn't bother ordering dessert and just wanted to leave. The only thing this place has going for it, is the one man live musician which added some ambiance to an otherwise disastrous meal. So disappointed considering how promising the menu was. Save your money and go somewhere else. There are way better options nearby. read more

Coming to ac hotel is a little bit difficult. Luckily I live in the area so I could just walk down but my friend parked at a municipal parking a few blocks away. This place looks nice from the outside but the food wasn't that great. We went for happy hour and it was pricey as if you went to a regular place in kakaako. The tacos were bland and the truffle fries weren't great. Maybe add Trader Joe's truffle seasoning... it was pricey but I can't imagine it at regular price. Service was good but it was pretty empty so not much people to attend to. read more

Ambiance is very nice, quiet and upscale. Service is mostly self-service but the staff is always on hand anyway to take your order for avocado toast and cazuelas, or coffee, etc. and they're super friendly to boot! Price is a bit of a stretch at $35/head but it's all you can eat so can't really complain. Honestly the avocado toast alone is worth a majority of that. It's really, REALLY good! I hadn't heard of most of the meats or cheeses too, so it was a pleasure to get the chance to try them. read more

I went for happy hour at Dotted Line Bar(3:00-6:00) Very nice, comfortable vibe. I had wine & shrimp ceviche with house made taro chips. Nice portion for $7.00 & was very tasty. They have excellent wine & draft beer selections. Marina(manager) gave a tour of the restaurant & downstairs lounge. The wasn't open the day I was there. Definitely will return to check it out. There's an old lady that I presume works there since she came from the kitchen with a to go container and started filling up with box with it and went back into the kitchen. The food and cocktails are good. The service could improve on checking up with customers more and it took 30 min to get our first round of drinks and an hour for food. I ordered truffle fries and they were not truffle fries just regular ones. That was annoying and I didn't want to send them back since it took over an hour to get them and I didn't want to wait any longer to eat. We ordered a second round and they forgot to put it in, we had to ask about it. The live music is waaaaaaay too loud, I was screaming at my friends the entire time so we could hear and my ears were ringing 30 minutes after we left. There's a lot of potential but please turn down the music, it's just too much. read more

I came here for lunch and there were definitely pros and cons to this restaurant. The restaurant is located right on Bishop Street in the AC Hotel so if you work or live in down town or are staying at the hotel, the location is prime. Otherwise, parking is a bit challenging. They have valet, which is what we did, but it's $15 which is pricey. The valet is located right under their hotel sign and there's a small valet sign on the side walk so be on the lookout for that. The restaurant is very nice with a new shiny feel. They have comfy chairs and lounge areas and a bar, but it's still quiet enough for you to hear your party's conversation. It's actually a great place to meet with business associates or to unwind by yourself. The service was good. Interestingly our server also appeared to be the bartender and the host. I didn't notice any other staff in the restaurant. But then again, it was pretty empty when we came in for lunch. However, considering our server's multitasking, he did a good job. He was attentive and timely throughout. The food was delicious and everyone on my table liked their food, but I have to address the elephant in the room. My salad was the most ridiculous meal I've seen in a while. As you can see in my picture, it was like I was missing a big part of my meal, but this was literally it. I ordered the beet salad and was expecting a normal size bowl of it. Instead it came out with the tiniest portion on a ridiculously large plate. Very strange presentation and definitely not worth $16. You can add protein as an option, which starts at an additional $12 - $16, but I just wanted the salad. You would think that they would provide you with an actual meal and not present it like it's a side of rice. I mean just add more micro greens or something. It was just weird. I regret not saying something, but the purpose of the lunch was to meet with a client. My company was also picking up the tab. But if it had been all about the food and it was on my dime...yeah this would've went back. The salad was delicious though. I just wish there was more of it. The other entrees looked normal size though, so maybe it's just this salad. Is the restaurant worth a shot? If the location is convenient for you and you don't like beet salad, then sure, give it a try. read more

Had high hopes for this place but the experience and most of all the food was substandard. Everyone in my group was disappointed in the food lacking taste and being overcooked. My lobster was like cardboard...... And the prices are ridiculously high. Add a protein to a salad and it becomes a steak and lobster price at other restaurants.....and the portions are so small too. In this age of Top Chef, Master Chef and the Bear.....restaurants really need to be aware that the expectations of customers are much more higher........and when somewhere like Zippys (no offense to Zippys, I eat their all the time) taste better than a high end restaurant like this.....not good.....hope it was just a bad day.....Howards around the corner is super good! read more

They should have a big cocktail called the Hole Punch, the Pan American (Paper) Clipper, the Fax Machine (a 20th century variation), a Cubicle-Libre, a Pen(-icillin) and a Nespresso Martini to say the least. Fill out your menu options on a portable whiteboard, or better yet, a clipboard with a form that looks like a W-9. Have the servers wear pocket protectors and green visors. Use chintzy paperweights and office mugs as table decor. Table snacks could be "Checks mix." Food is just OK. We had some snacks (fries, brussels sprouts, trio of dips, steak tartare) and they were decent. Had to skip the entrees as they were extremely pricey... $76 for an 8 oz. Steak Frites? Want to give 3.5 stars. Went there for lunch. Nice and new place. Like the decor. Service was nice but a bit odd at first. The food was pretty good. Those who ate the salmon enjoyed it with the ginger rice. We also shared the deviled eggs. I eat these at every restaurant that makes them. I didn't care for them that much. I think its the truffle flavor i didn't care for in it (Odd as i love truffles). I had the chicken salad which was well balanced dressed and had fresh orange segments and fresh shredded chicken, not the premade frozen stuff you get. There was cartilage in the salad but that was ok with me. I liked the berry tart. Strawberry shortacke was ok. Americano was kind of weak. If downtown it's a great place to eat. Right in front, separate entrance from hotel but a walkthrough inside. Service was great, pau hana menu is nice. Enjoyed it. All day menu seems pared down from earlier posts but still delicious although haven't tried all of it. A good selection for all palates. Prices reasonable. Relaxing. Another downtown restaurant has great food but noisy and slow service, way to sell more drinks. This is opposite so my new favorite place. The hotel has valet parking, no idea where. Wish they had a Sunday brunch but probably not enough foot traffic for that. read more

Came here for the prie fixe menu for restaurant week. Very good service and ambience, but the food was very poor. First up Caesar salad, very very salty. There was too much dressing. Second up was the entree (I got the pasta bolognese and friend got the Alfredo). Both pasta dishes, clumps on clumps of uncooked pasta stuck together. There were very distinct hard pieces of uncooked pasta. The bolognese sauce was average, 2.5/5. The Alfredo pasta/sauce... honestly reminded me of one the those frozen Alfredo pasta TV dinners where you microwave. Weird nostalgia, but overall poor taste. The only good thing was the dessert (panna cotta and the chocolate mousse) was fantastic. Overall, this place needs to work on improving their recipes. It's basically self service and the buffet didn't have very much to choose from. For eggs, they just had hard boiled eggs. They had croissants but they didn't have a toaster large enough to accommodate them. Coffee was in a jug that you poured on your own. If this breakfast is part of the room, it's sparse. You get a much better buffet breakfast in most other hotels and its part of the room charge. If they charge extra for it, anything more than $10 would be too much. The space was large enough with plenty of seats for even 100 customers. But there just wasn't enough to choose from. read more

First night opening for dinner and the service and the food is amazing. Chef Nick's menu is creative and surprising. The deviled eggs are to die for. OMG! Sooo good. The Squash Blossom Bao was delicious. We had the Roasted Cauliflower...I could not stop eating! Yum! We shared the filet and they served it exactly as we requested.
