Long time Morro Bay establishment with an amazing location. Diverse, seafood focused menu. Full bar available. Not busy during our lunch visit so service was nicely quick. Our service person was excellent. I came hungry today so an appetizer was in order. The Shrimp Croquettes, which if memory serves were a special, sounded great. Served with a Romesco sauce. Unfortunately, they were served lukewarm. And the flavor of the sauce was the overwhelming taste. If you ordered them without the sauce or on the side and they came warm I think these would be much better. My DW chose to order what was the seasonal salad-A Beet and Burrata Salad served with grilled bread. This came served on bibb lettuce with a miso style dressing. Prepared with red and gold beets, it looked gorgeous and the taste was pronounced as "delicious". My choice today was the 3 Piece Cod and Chips. I feel if you like cod and chips this should be your choice as well. Perfectly fried fresh flaky fish with a light tempura batter. I would bet big money this was never frozen fish battered at time of order. It most certainly tasted like it. The fries were hot and fresh. Omg! You can't go here and not get the sourdough bread bowl of clam chowder!! It was beyond incredible!! I also got a shrimp cocktail that was more than the norm: it not only had cocktail sauce but cucumber. My daughter got the steak and frites (minus the chimichurri sauce). It was cooked perfectly rare to her liking. The service was amazing and very attentive. We watched otters play right next to our table, boats passing by, and the rock. Culinary creative dishes with a view of Morro Rock. I had dinner here last night and ordered 1) Grassy Bay oysters 2) Clam chowder 3) Beets/Buffalo salad The fresh local oysters from our estuary in Morro Bay were medium-size and served on ice with a red vinegar mignonette with scallions and/or a red cocktail sauce with creamy horseradish. Very nice presentation with sprigs of fresh dill and sliced lemons. These weren't really briny, but has a mild saltiness. The clam chowder was also very good. Creamy white soup served with oyster crackers. I like to add a splash of hot sauce like Tabasco. The highlight for me was the beet and buffalo mozzarella (soft and round) salad which was beautiful. A slight hint of fennel added a nice subtle flavor. The chef has made a nice impression for me. I will definitely come again and try a few of the specials. read more

Another wonderful meal in Morro Bay. Didn't have a reservation, not sure if they take them. But walking in during the long weekend, it was about a 30/45 minute wait. They took our number down which gave us time to walk around the waterfront and catch the sunset. It was pretty busy but did noticed some empty tables that no one was sitting the whole time for our waiting time. From prior visit, had to get the onion rings again as they were great. As well as the mussels and fries. Entrees, the ciopinno is a much. Plenty of seafood and the broth was delicious. Served with garlic bread for dipping. We also went with halibut special which, wow. Perfect size and served over a bed of grilled asparagus and mashed potatoes. And top with shrimp, capers, tomatoes and a nice garlic sauce. Everything was amazing and very filling. Came here for the first time with all my employees for dinner. We more or less took over the entire dining area in front of the bar. The bar tender was very nice and attentive. I idmdt catch name but looked Hispanic with guages in his ear. For drinks i ordered a beer and the Passion Fruit Margarita. A beer is a beer but the margarita tasted like flavored water. It was strong at all, not even sure it had liquor in it, there was a lot of ice and it was in a standard glass and not a true margaritas glass. Instead of salt they put sugar around the rim of the glass. Either way it was a wasted $13. Appetizers I had were all good. This included the ahi poke chips, calamari and clam chowder. No complaints at all.on any of these. For my dinner I ordered the steak and lobster tail special. Issue here was the steak was very small, thin, and was well done after I asked for medium rare. But aside from that, it was as bland as can be. I did complain and I received a whole new steak. The New steak was much larger and probably the one given with the normal steak dinner vs the steak and lobster special. But even so, I could see the cook threw a bunch of butter and garlic on it. It still lacked salt and pepper. It was cooked closer to medium rare and was a way better piece but just lacked any flavor. We had a great experience here despite the long wait for our table. We were walking down embarcadero and saw this place and menu. We liked what was on the menu and put our name down. It was an hour wait so we walked around the shops until we were called. We were seated right by the window by the water and I was so happy with that location. We ordered the fresh oysters, the Steamers (forgot to taks a pic) and the Dutchmans Platter Loved the oysters that we ordered another plate. Very fresh and plump. The clams were just how we wanted it, steamed with white wine. It came with garlic bread! Perfect! The seafood combo plate though we were disappointed. The fish and shrimp although plump and meaty were very oily once we bit into it. The rest of the seafood was good! It came with a salad so it was just right! Price is more affordable that other restaurants in the area. Service is okay. read more

While neither dish was terrible, both were underwhelming compared to what we were hoping for. We always hit Dutchman's whenever we're on the Central Coast. We always get the fried shrimp and fish plate with a cup of chowder. It seems that the batter was not the same. (no flavor, not seasoned properly) The cod was also mushy and underwhelming. Cod should be flakey and firm. These items used to be great. Now it's over battered and just meh. Husband and I decided to try this restaurant while on vacation to the Morro Bay Area . First thing we noticed was a lot of flies all around our table. However the view from our table made up for the flies. Boats floating nearby was beautiful. I ordered 2 fish tacos with rock cod for 22 dollars. Basically I got a huge amount of cabbage and a tiny amount of fish which had no flavor or seasoning. The black beans tasted like they just came out of a can with some water added to them. Husband got fish and chips... mostly fries with two small pieces of fish. What a disappointment this meal was. If you are wondering if you should eat here... I would say no. read more

We decide to order the halibut fish and chips since it is not normally served at many of the fish places. To our surprise the halibut fish and chips was awesome. We come here every time we're in Morro Bay as it's part of the nostalgia for my husband. I have to say we were pleasantly surprised to come their first day open after the remodel. The place was desperately in need of an update and the new restaurant looks amazing! The menu also got an update and they had a cocktail menu that we didn't remember from before. We had the sole, steak frites, and kids cheeseburger. Along with an espresso martini and paper plane to drink. We enjoyed our food and the service was great. We of course love the views while we eat as well. 10/10 recommend especially with the new update. My only worry is they'll be even busier when we're visiting. read more

We come back here every time we are in Morro Bay. I love their fried Fish and Prawns & chips! Staff is nice, and a great view of the bay. On this last trip, we got the rockfish ceviche twice (make sure the chips are fresh-makes a huge difference). SO good. read more

On the brighter side, the Dutch 75 cocktail was fantastic--refreshing and well-balanced. However, the Mai Tai was strong but lacked the right flavor balance, which made it a little hard to enjoy. Dutchman's Seafood House is a great place that overlooks Morry Bay. It offers seafood , and sandwiches . They have very friendly staff with a good atmosphere and average prices. One complaint was that we ate here on a weekday at 11 am, so it was pretty quiet. But it took a while to get our meal. Also, the waitress brought the wrong food and she kept forgetting everything we asked for, so this was frustrating. We went on a rainy day so we couldn't see much from the window view. read more

This is a great place to watch a sunset! It only has a couple of tables outside, but a big deck to walk around in. We only came for a drink and the view, but when I asked about the oysters and found they come from this Bay, I ordered some. They were small to medium sized and pricey ($20 for 6) but delicious. A bonus was watching two adorable sea otters playing right off the deck- haven't seen any this close before. Highly recommend trying this place for a sunset dinner! read more

Everything here was very fresh! Especially the oysters we started off with, which were also a great size. I ordered the albacore tuna melt as my entree for dinner. It was pretty tasty! The bread was nicely toasted and the tuna inside was plentiful. Also very cheesy and creamy, but it wasn't as savory as I liked. Very good with some tobasco though! Also tried their snapper which I thought was nothing special. It was a bit overcooked and under seasoned. Their clam chowder was great though. We were seated quickly on a Thursday night around 7PM. On our first day at Morro Bay my friend and I came to eat here. I had the Sole Petrale w steamed veggies and pilaf rice. Before my dish we ordered a appetizer it was medley of mushrooms in their own buttered broth along w bread and goat cheese. Basically everything was delicious. Both were so delicious we had to get more! Our appetizer was the mushrooms with bread and cheese. Local mushrooms such as lions mane were featured and they were amazing too. I had the locally caught rock fish and it was delicious. My friend loved her fish too.! Tyler recommended the cheesecake with fruit dessert which was uniquely flavorful and moist. I really like that this is along the water with a view of Morro Rock, and they had a few tables outside...perfect for cooling down from a short drive from Paso. It's one of the better looking restaurants in Morro Bay, so we (gf; pooch) decided to give it try. Prices are very reasonable. Service was nice. View, great. We got a fish & chips ($19) and a shrimp & chips ($21) to share. But, sadly, they were just fair. Very greasy with too much breading. We both didn't feel so well after with the oil and all. We stopped in for the clam chowder. I wasn't too hungry so I ended up getting the kids fish and chips (which was plentiful for a kids meal). My friend got the clam chowder but added fresh crab on top. I am not a fan of clam chowder (chowder without clams isn't an option LOL), however I took a bit with the crab and it was absolutely delicious! Our waitress was super nice ... however we were being rushed as they were getting ready for the dinner shift. It's kind of annoying when the busboys are eyeballing you rushing you to finish. This is the reason I removed a star. I would go back. The fish and chips were a little greasy, but I would give it another try. But, definitely try the clam chowder with the crab on top. read more
