    Bistro fries

Ate here on a sunday early evening. The service was super good, every staff member is helping with every table. Got lots of free refills on a diet Pepsi. I ordered the half dozen oysters and these were great, especially with the horseradish sauce. Also the bistro fries were good, but very oily towards the end. I got the cioppino since it offered so many different seafoods. It was super light and needed a bit more salt. There was plenty of calamari in it, loved the lobster tail as well. I didnt eat the garlic toast that comes with it as I'm gluten free but my partner said the toast and the soup didn't complement each other. They were just both good on their own. We also ordered the local rock cod and this was good. The vegetables could use more seasoning though

One word. Yum, I wanted Steak and Lobster and I got it! We were seated immediately. I ordered a Long Island, my vacation drink, and the steak and lobster plate. It was ok. The steak was ok but the lobster made up for what the steak lacked. The lobster was juicy and a little sweet. The butter was the perfect amount of salty. The potatoes and asparagus were on par. The long island snuck up on me just the way I like it. I will be back! Our server as also the coolest. I think she was French (so fancy).

Stopped by the dutchie on Friday night for dinnner and everything was great. Our server was very attentive and nice. We ordered cocktails, appetizers and some entrees. Everything we ordered was amazing. The clam chowder was creamy and flavorful. The pasta was cooked al dente and the sauce was creamy and had great taste. The calamari and crab cakes were crispy and packed with flavor.

The food is absolutely delicious and large quantities. They don't skimp on anything here. I ordered a calamari appetizer and I'm telling you it was enough for four people. Really it was enough for a meal. But I also ordered a meal which also turned out to be absolutely delicious. I ordered the steak and lobster. The service is very elegant and the ambiance is classy and the restaurant overlooks the water. Everything about this restaurant is wonderful!

We had a fantastic dining experience at The Duchie! To begin the restaurant itself is in such a cool location being right on the bay the ambiance is incredible. Our server Tyler was attentive knowledgeable and extremely helpful, he was able to give me suggestions about both the Tomato Burrata salad and help me pick out the steak I wanted. I ended up ordering the Hanger steak with a side of lobster. The steak was perfectly cooked and the lobster was delicious and buttery. We finished off our meal with the Basque Cheese Cake which was the cherry on top of a fantastic meal!! Of course, our server Tyler was the one to suggest it for us. Tyler's service was second to none, he really made me feel like family. I'm super grateful for the wonderful meal, it made this vacation one I won't soon forget !!!

The restaurant offers great views and excellent service. I ordered a sandwich, but I also had the chance to try my husband's fish and shrimp with chips. I'm usually not a big seafood fan, but I have to admit that I really enjoyed the fish and chips at the Dutchie. My husband insisted it was because the seafood was so fresh, and after trying it, I believe him.

Dutchie was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The seafood is excellent, especially the specials of the day -- every recommendation was spot-on. I had the sea bass with a crab cake, mushrooms, and spinach, and it was absolutely delicious and perfectly prepared. The restaurant is very kid-friendly, which we truly appreciated, and the views right on the water made the entire meal even more enjoyable. A huge shout-out to Tyler, our waiter -- he was exceptional, attentive without hovering, and his recommendations did not disappoint. We had such a great experience and are already looking forward to coming back.

Clam chowder bread bowls, Local Rock Cod, and Fish, Prawns, & Chips
    Raymond Y.

Saw the other Yelp reviews and everyone was raving about clam chowder bread bowls. We ordered two of them, and the Local Rock Cod + the Fish, Prawns & Chips (subbed with onion rings). Definitely see the hype with the clam chowder bowls--it was absolutely stuffed and filled to the brim (and spilling over) with a healthy amount of clams, potatoes, and other goodies. I thought the cod was decent but lacked a bit of flavor. Fish and chips were good and I liked that there wasn't an excessive amount of batter. I liked the onion rings as well! I wish we came during the day so we could see the views of the ocean, but we'll have to visit again

You can't beat the view especially at sunset. Spectacular views. I had a wonderful Manhattan and the clam chowder in a bread bowl. Server was attentive and kind. Open seating in the bar. Great place by the ocean. If I'm ever driving through again I would definitely stop here again.

    Fish and chips!

Fish and chips were fresh and delicious. Service was good and a nice view of the rock!

We came in on our first night and sat at the bar. I wanted a non-alcoholic drink, and the bartender created a delicious lime-coconut cocktail for me--it was amazing! The service was so warm and attentive that we decided to come back the next night for dinner. I had the clam chowder in a bread bowl, which was absolutely to die for, along with the crudo and shrimp croquettes--everything was fresh and flavorful. We were lucky to have the same bartender again, and the service was just as fantastic as the first night. A+ all around--highly recommend!

Moriah, our server made us smile our entire dining experience.

She knows the menu well and spoiled us with her beautiful spirit, smile & impeccable customer service. 5 stars for this wonderful gem on the water. We had a prawn cocktail, dinner salad& clam chowder in a sourdough bowl topped with crab ! It was all so wonderful. We will be back the next time we visit Morro Bay .

It comes with two pieces of Texas toast. Nicely toasted with a buttery crunch on the outside, yet fluffy anf soft on the inside. Perfect for dipping. Now, about the chowder... The LOADED seafood chowder wasn't really good, it was DELICIOUS!! Our server said it's actually award winning! We will definitely return for their chowder. So flavorful and creamy! Perfect! Our server, Kaitlyn, she was super sweet and also the best. Very thoughtful in thinking of everything. Thank you, Kaitlyn! Morro Grill's reviews looked pretty good so we're looking forward to returning to try their other menu items. Especially their homemade carrot cake that Kaitlin recommended but we were too full. They're located upstairs but they have an elevator if you need it. They have indoor and outdoor seating (right on the water). The outside can get a little warm on sunny days but not as hot as the Central Valley! Morro Grill has only been here a year but we hope they'll last many more, for our return trips!

Mostly we were excited about the mid 90's, early 2000's music playlist that included Biggie; Bone, Thugs, & Harmony; Craig Mack; and some classic R&B joints I'm failing to remember right now. All this while we enjoyed two very cold beers - Michelob ultra for the babe and a Big Sur Double IPA on tap at 9.6 ABV for me. All this, paired with the wings, which were outstanding BTW, and it made for a great stop. Other things to know. -Order of 12 wings can be split into two flavors (choice of buffalo, bbq, or mild). We went with buffalo and bbq extra crispy. -The buffalo have an added pepper seasoning that we loved -Bathrooms are downstairs (there's also an elevator) -2 of the 3 TV's at the bar were not working (biggest critique) -There is outside seating with view of the rock and a beautiful sunset if you time it right (we did, but it was a bit hazy due to the fog or overcast or whatever you call it) -Also, we didn't try any other food so we can't vouch for much else but everything people had looked good and we didn't hear any complaints. TRY IT OR DIET FINAL WORD Definitely try it. Matter of fact, we're going to take our own advice and try it again later today!

We didn't have to wait very long for our table of 6 to be seated. We were promptly offered beverages and ordered an appetizer. Crab cakes to start were excellent! A perfect bite before our main entrees. My mom ordered their seafood steamer. Everything was cooked excellently, and was absolutely delicious. My 6 year old daughter got their black bean burrito. I didn't have any of this, but my 1 year old shared it with her and there were no complaints from either. My step father ordered the baja fih tacos. These were absolutely delicious as well! My boyfriend got their fish and chips, zero complaints. Also incredibly tasty. I ordered the clams and linguine noodles. I have to say... These were one of the most delicious preparations of clams I have EVER had. The most flavorful broth. Garlicky, tomato-y, phenomenal. We inhaled every bite and asked for some bread to soak up the goodness at the end. 10 outta 10, reccomend!! Finished dinner with their house made carrot cake, flourless chocolate torte, and their mud pie. Also reccomend all of these, but their flourless chocolate torte was one of the best I've ever had. I wish I could eat this every single day. Lol. Anyway... Do yourself a favor and come here to eat!!! Also, editing to add: our server Garrett was amazing!

Perfect way to end a kayaking excursion or a walk through nature... or just a nice place to dine any day for any reason. Very laid back atmosphere with delicious food and fantastic service! Even dog friendly, which makes me happy. :) One of my favorite dishes is actually one of their specialties! The California Chowder! So perfect! It is a combo of their fantastic clam chowder mixed with their delicious spicy green chili soup. The marriage of flavors is so delicious! I opt for this on just about every visit. The menu is pretty diverse (is that the word I'm looking for?) with friend green tomatoes, crab cakes, brie salad, fish and chips, pasta, Mexican dishes, and sammies and burgers too! Their onion rings are out of this world. Bayside Cafe is one of my favorite dining places while in Morro Bay. We don't head there often because it is not a casual walking distance from the house, but it is worth the little jaunt to get to it. Besides great food and views, they offer beer and wine plus some yum-o desserts! I suggest the Boysenberry Crisp or the Chocolate Oblivion (that berry sauce... mmmm) Prices are reasonable and run you mostly under $20 with a few pops of dishes that are slightly higher. Service is so friendly and attentive. Dishes have typically been served without much of a wait. The only real wait here is to get in.... if you time it just right, you will have a wait as this place is pretty popular. Parking is nearby and can get a bit full since it is right there by the marina. Definitely a place you do not want to skip! Thank you and CHEERS!!

On a quick day trip on a Friday afternoon, we decided to give this place a try. No reservation and were promptly greeted and seated. Although we did not have a full bay view, we had a partial bay view. Some hits and misses with food and service. 1. Bowl of Clam Chowder (no bread bowls available). Chowder was piping hot and had nice pieces of clams (dad got a bit of clam shell..so be careful), celery and potatoes. The chowder was very creamy and not grainy or watery like other locations. I would definitely order again 5/5 2. Fish & Chips: Fresh Pacific cod, lightly breaded, served with house-made tartar sauce. Fish was fried to perfection. 5/5 3. Seafood Pasta: Linguini with jumbo prawns, fresh catch, Cajun cream sauce, garlic bread. Everything tasted fresh and seasoned perfectly 5/5 4. Side of Garlic bread: extremely disappointing. We ordered garlic bread with our chowder, it never came. Waitress decided to serve it with the mains (fish and chips) and we ordered for the entire table and she only brought 2 pieces. 5. Insalata Molina: Mixed greens, arugula, pear, walnuts, crumbled blue cheese, mango vinaigrette. Couldn't tell you if this was any good bc the waitress NEVER brought but charged us for it. She then takes it off the bill and brings me the salad in a Styrofoam container. I told her I didn't want it and put it in my bag. Salad was so soggy (which means the kitchen prepared it and the waitress forgot to serve it) I would not order and do not recommend ordering it bc it was the size of a side salad definitely not worth the price point. 6. Mocktail Lavender lemonade: definitely not balanced, was pretty tart and again the price point was off. It was about 8oz lemonade for $12 They do offer a nice selection of wines. Restrooms are located outside the restaurant and are public restrooms, pretty dirty and out of stock. Although our service was a big miss, I do recommend the food items we ordered. I did take a star off due to the service.
