There was such an ambiance , beautiful scenery and legroom to enjoy your meal . The service is wonderful and inviting . There's even live music on the weekends. The food was great a little under seasoned and slightly overcooked but was hot and fresh , for such an establishment. I'd like to go back for an occasional dinner or two . Enjoy everyone ! read more

The calamari batter was too salty; the sauce kinda spicy. We asked for regular marinara & was told they didn't have any other type

Ordered the lake perch and fries. The worst perch I ever have had. The breading on the perch and seasoning on the fries had way too much salt and garlic on it where it ruined the taste of the food. Also the tartar sauce had too much lemon flavor. I don't think I will ever order any food from this place again. Teibel's is much better for perch. read more

On 2/28, my 3 guests and I visited for the first time to have an early dinner. I had been told prior that for oyr party reservations were not needed. Our server, Susie, required much more attention from us than she was willing to give. We repeated iur order several times and was approached by a "manager" when we asked for an order for ribs to be removed due more than a 30 minute wait time After other food had been served. Thi so called manager informed us that Susie would then have to pay fir the ribs. Not our problem! I sent an email through the website with no response. read more

LOVED IT! Had dinner here on a Friday night with two of my girlfriends. Exceptional food and even better views! Hidden gem overlooking the Lost Marsh Golf Course - perfect view of the sunset on their extended patio. Ideal setting to enjoy dinner and cocktails indoors/outdoors. Doesn't fall short to impress. We started off with the Calamari and a shared a Salad (Mediterranean Chicken & Artichoke Salad) both abundant in serving size - more than enough to share among the three of us and flavor was delicious. Our table enjoyed the following main entrees: Lobster Ravioli, Braised Beef Ravioli and Chicken Vesuvio Sandwhich. LOTS of food and it was all fresh and very flavorful. Last-minute plans to hang out with my sister so I found this place on Yelp the food and service was awesome we both had the chicken linguine in Alfredo sauce it was spectacular. We even had the opportunity to chat with the owner who was genuinely friendly and hospitable. I'd give the food 4 stars, but factoring in the views I'm giving it 5 stars. I was here on two different nights and had the pan seared whitefish and prime filet. The whitefish was excellent, the texture was flakey and the outside was nicely seared. The filet was solid, although I asked for medium and one of them was more like a medium well. The food here tends to be on the salty side, especially the potatoes and chicken soup, but that's how I like my food so it didn't bother me. The view is great, you can see Chicago in the distance. Note that there is a 3.25% charge for payment using cards, and there is a sign saying that you need golf or "proper attire" to eat here. I don't know what they mean by that, but I was dressed casually in floral shorts and a white t-shirt on Sunday and Monday night and had no issues. read more

It's a hidden gem. I always pass the golf course and see the sign . I called so me and my wife could have a late dinner. They were very nice on the phone and in person. The dinner was excellent I i had the blackened chicken gnocchi with garlic bread very tasty. And could leave with out a piece of tiramisu. Today was my first time actually visiting this place. It's a hidden gem, and it easy to pass through because you think it's a golfing resort....but it's more than that! The inside is so clean and nice with waterfalls, and the restaurant is actually upstairs. My brother and I went to go eat outside on the patio. Bonus: it's dog friendly!! We were able to bring our pups and they enjoy the fresh air. It got a little to chilly, so we ended up ordering our food to go. Our waitress was great, and super nice to our dogs. We ordered the wings, crab cakes, and bruschetta. Next time, I'm def trying the lobster ravioli. read more

My friend Cary and I popped in on 12/3/18 for dinner. Cary ordered the Emerald Burger - Two slabs of fresh mozzarella and fresh basil with a Balsamic Glaze which, upon arriving at the table made Cary say, "This burger's too big for my mouth, but oh-so-amazingly delicious!" Adding that fries were also delicious, she noted, "They're so good, I don't even need ketchup!" My lobster Ravioli were gi-normously big. Double the size of normal ravioli easily, and came with fresh crisp French bread that was garlicy- buttery- toasted-good! The ravioli was so lobster forward that there didn't appear to be any other ingredient in the ravioli - other than lobster - how wonderful! The pasta was super-fresh too, but seriously when eating it I felt like I was eating lobster, not ravioli- what a wonderful treat! Dessert was over-the-top delicious, too. Made us both feel like we died and went to heaven. Super good service - Super excellent food - Super beautiful surroundings (very clean and stylish). I wanted to have my rehearsal dinner here for my wedding, it was close to the venue and someone suggested it. We had 11 people and were told we had to deposit $100 for anything over 10 people. I found that odd but paid it and was told it would be applied to the bill. I mentioned it to my MIL since she was paying the bill. She must have forgot because the restaurant never applied the $100. Not too mention, it was dead there. We were practically the only people there so I don't know why it was such a big deal for the deposit. Now I have to get this straightened out, they can only mail the $100 or I have to drive 40 min to go get it. I told them to mail it. They were unable to send it electronically... anyways still waiting on that.. its been over a month. Such a hassle and inconvenience and also if we did not remember... we would have been out $100 more after paying hundreds already. Pretty shady business practices in my opinion. We'll see if this check ever shows up or Ill be calling again.... a serious waste of my time. A nice dinner is turning into me having to shake these people down for my money. The food was average, the service was slow. The only thing that was good was the mushroom soup. Views were nice. Highly doubt I'll be back here. read more

Absolutely love this place! Just beautiful! Nicest restaurant in town. Has everything you could wish. The intimate dinning room has two sections. First, the main section has a warm fire place the most spectacular views. You can even go out on to the balcony and dine (weather permitting). On the other side they have the bar. This bar is fully loaded and it has 3Tv's for all you game day needs. Just the best place on session or off season. Honestly, the food is better than Purple Steer cost about the same if not less. The place is hands down way nicer. I have been to every restaurant in this area and Emerald Green is by far the best. Why go to the Olive Garden and Apple Bee's when the Emerald Green makes every order fresh. I've gotten bad food at the nicest spots but not here. I have never been unhappy with my plate. read more

Service was slow food was sub par. I ordered the lemon butter Farfalle with Shrimp. I had to send it back as the meat was undercooked.

Our first experience here was really nice. The view was excellent and the staff was courteous. The salmon special got rave reviews from my wife, and the cocktails were pretty tasty. I liked the pork chops okay, though they were on the dry side, but the awesome potatoes made up for it. Tiramisu was excellent. We're definitely coming back. read more

I attended a wedding at the banquet center. The venue was very pretty but the wedding coordinator was nowhere to be found for the ceremony. The bride was very upset and nobody that worked there seemed to care about her wedding. I would reconsider if you were planning on hosting anything there. Extremely poor service. read more

I attended an event this past weekend. It was really pretty. The hostess decorated the hall very nice and the meal was filet mignon and chicken breast. It was tasty but cold. The hostess was missing most of the evening and it turned out the owner of the venue was continually harassing her about securing his venue from the underage guests. There was supposed to be security but I never saw them. The owner was heard outside arguing with one of the guests and then the owner came inside the hall and abruptly ended the event. It was unprofessional and horrific. I felt so bad for the hostess that obviously put a lot of time, effort and money into this day to be treated that way. I would not recommend this venue to anyone. read more

Beautiful place but staff were rude when a party of 14 came in for lunch. Rudely treated and told we couldn't be served. There was no one in the entire restaurant. Said they only had 1 cook. Very clean and comfortable settings. Tried it for the first time over lunch today. Had the crab cakes appetizer which consisted of two nicely prepared and tasty crab filled cakes. They are not deep fried like some but appeared to be done in a skillet. My wife enjoyed the lobster filled ravioli with a sage butter sauce which she really enjoyed. I had the Emerald chicken sandwich on a large artisan roll which was seasoned nicely along with tomato and greens. It came with a large and hot order of tasty fries. Kyle was point on making sure our drinks kept filled and had a friendly personility. Can't wait to return and try dinner there. Reasonable priced for the quality of food served here. read more

I am writing this post unbelievably disappointed and angry with the experience that I had at the Emerald Green Restaurant at the Lost Marsh Golf Course today. A coworker and I went for lunch and after our meal our server came to collect our cards and did not return for 20 minutes. Our lunch break had expired so we went inside to see what was going on, pay our bill and get back to work. When we got back inside, our server apologized and said he had misplaced our cards. He was frantically searching the restaurant (even checking security cameras) while his manager, Monica, "attempted" to help. Her attitude from the beginning of our lunch was more than unwelcoming, but as we waited for our cards to turn up, she became more and more unpleasant. After 50 mins of standing and waiting for them to find our cards, they found them mixed in some menus on a table. The server apologized and Monica took the cards from him to run our bill. We explained that we did not feel it was fair that we should pay for the bill after waiting almost an extra hour (after having been there an hour already for our meal) and asked that our cards be returned to us. Monica began screaming about how we were just there for a free meal and that we came into her restaurant and ate and are going to pay. After realizing that this woman was not going to calm down, we told her to run the cards. My coworker left to find an owner (of which none of three were on site) so that we could have a rational conversation about what was happening. When my coworker left the restaurant, Monica began yelling from across the restaurant that I was a "fucking bitch" and when I was reviewing the receipts that she had given back to me she told me, "There's two there you fucking idiot." I collected our cards and receipts and proceeded out of the restaurant while she screamed behind me that we were never welcome back. Other customers had left and said to me that they have never seen an employee act so publicly embarrassing and disrespectful and would never come back to this establishment. My coworker and I will also never come back to this establishment; however, the results of today's lunch made such a distasteful impression on our company that our owners and other coworkers will also never come back. read more

We went on a weeknight, there was a small group of men at the bar and only one other table of 2 eating. We were seated right away and placed drink orders. They were good. We ordered our meals and waited nearly an hour. We thought since it was nearly empty that was excessive. I had asked for vegetables instead of fries. I was informed it was a small up-charge. The food was just ok, and I received three broccoli florets as my veggie. I was charged $4.00 for the broccoli and I feel that was a not small up-charge! Overall I don't feel the need to eat there again. It is a beautiful place, a shame they can't get a decent restaurant there. read more

I had my wedding & reception at The Lost Marsh Friday Sept.20th. The venue is beautiful and clean. The staff specifically laly,Horacio,Sarah and Natalie were awesome during my reception! They helped me out when the person I was coordinating with for MONTHS was nowhere to be found. You anticipate things going wrong at weddings however most things can be avoided with attention to detail,my ceremony and the moments leading up to it were unorganized but the reception was great. We just hosted a shower on September 22 at the Emerald Green, everything was great, from the venue to the food to the wait staff.They were very attentive and made sure all of our guests had what they needed. We had a few guests come late and the staff brought out their salads, and plated entree right away. Our friends and family couldn't say enough positive things about the venue. Many were talking about hosting events here after they had such a positive experience. Sandra was wonderful, emailing me and calling me answering all my questions.I will definitely host more special events here. read more

The food was very good,but the service Friday night was just awful! We had a large table(reservation was made) food was slowly brought out. Hamburgers were COLD before the condiments were served! The first people served were done before the last people were served! This was a rehearsal dinner. The next day was a wedding reception. Sandra was in charge of the room. 1st she said the tables could not be set the way it was requested and approved. The seating chart had to be changed. So that night it was worked again. On Saturday morning the tables were changed again! NIGHTMARE. Snotty attitude from her. The table cloths and napkins were wrinkled. For service we were left with 3 servers. Food was slow but to clean off the tables was the worst. Have you ever seen dirty plates piled on the gift table. That door I will never be darkened by me. This is a nice resort for golfing and affordable drinks and could be a 4-5 star place like other golf resorts but the food, is unfortunately just bad. I am hoping they will hire a chef or kitchen people who really know and understand their menu but also their customer. We think with new cooks, but also using local and fresh food (not frozen) this could be a go to place. We definitely support a new grand opening with a better fresher menu, additionally trained staff...... they seem to never know anything about the menu they are serving and other questions customers have about the golf course. They certainly would be a more profitable restaurant and may see more of the golfers and other customers who visit enjoy eating at their restaurant. read more

Stay away from this restaurant & venue. This is a belated review of the incredibly bad service & unprofessional temperamental bad behavior from the owner/chef we received from this restaurant. It was our first time socially visiting this place & is our last. We came to the restaurant for their July 4th event they advertised on Facebook, (which they used the invite forum to promote their event). Upon entering the venue, we noted the small size of the venue which meant that service might be timely & quick, plus saw how crowded it was with other Facebook customers who saw the same invite. Unfortunately, none of the staff members could acknowledge the invite, nor honored the invite. Needless to say, many people left in frustration, due to the disorganization of the invite problem. Long story short, we waited 25 minutes for the waitress to seat us. After finally seating us, we waited another 25 minutes for the waitress to serve us drinks & food: she took our order. After we waited an additional 20 minutes, we still did not receive our drinks, much less water. When we confronted the waitress where our drinks were at, she snipped at us & said choice words & walked away. We, then spoke to the female manager on duty & explained to her about our frustration of waiting 50 minutes of not being served anything when the bar is less than 5 feet away. She promptly gave us water & we continued to explain to her about our dilemma when an employee dressed in dirty clothes came over & rudely interrupted our conversation w/o properly introducing himself. After we tried to explain to him about the problem of our drinks & food order not being served, 10 seconds after speaking with us, he unprofessionally yelled at us & argued with my husband. Since we did not know who he was, we were caught off guard by his temper & his surprised reaction. He falsely accused us of lying about the service & continued to yell at us, thus attempting to embarrass us. At that point, I stated to my husband for us to leave, as this man & the restaurant is not worth our time & energy. The next day, I called to ask who the owner was & was invited to come in to talk. Upon meeting with the manager, it was the same man who yelled at us the day before. I gave him a 2nd chance to fix the problem he created. He refused to listen & take no responsibility for his staff and most of all, nor his unprofessional outburst he presented the day before. I was given the impression he refused to care & I simply just left the venue vowing to never come back. read more

first of all i would rate 0 stars. this place was so unprofessional. the waitress i had named renee was so very rude and couldnt get our order right after 2 times ordering, when there was only 2 other tables in the whole place. And the bartender gabby was on her phone as i was sitting at the bar trying to order a drink, because our waitress renee didnt come back after our food. so overall dont waste your time!!!! read more
