Great poke and value! We were visiting for a few days and went to try quite a bit of poke spots (8+ places), this one ended up being our favorite. We liked the fish variety with salmon and hamachi poke being offered. The fish is fresh and the 3 scoop poke bowl has a good amount of fish and rice. You order the type of rice you want, then choose between 2 or 3 scoops of poke, and end with toppings. They charge $.75 per something for the toppings. I highly recommend getting different types of ahi tuna. The fish is very fresh and locally caught. I didn't try the salmon or squid. For the toppings, I really like the imitation abalone. I never had them before and it tastes so good. I wished I added more of that. After we got our orders, we went outside and sat on the curb while eating our poke bowls. It was so good! So, if you want the freshest of fish and some ono poke, then this is your place to go. Yes, another local, small business that is rockiń what they do. The waiting area inside is tight, but the service is fast. The Mac nut crushed fish with lilikoi sauce is like something you'd get in a fine dining restaurant and at an amazing price. Can not recommend this dish enough. If we had come here sooner, I think we would have been daily for this dish alone. The catch was ono for us and boy was it onolicious! My advice is order this here and put it on a real plate and call it fine dining instead of paying $40 at a restaurant for the same dish only less reliably tasty. The spaghetti Mac salad was unusual but we are converts. Well done! Anther beware...the condiment bar, which I grinded on while waiting for our poke, the Daikon to be specific, is not only yummy and contains a lot of my favorites, but it's NOT free. There is no seating inside because it's impossible to fit anything else in here it's so small.Ordered one plate lunch with chicken, Mac salad and rice (of course) and one salmon poke plate. You should try this place if you want a real island meal "to go" because this is where the locals grab and go, too. The best part is that they have pre-packaged items they make just before the lunch rush. So you can stop in, check out the lunch boxes to go on the left, grab a beverage from the cooler, check out and go. When I have a layover flight and there's enough time to take an Uber/Lyft (they can wait while I run in to pick up the to go order) & get back through TSA to get back to the gate (50 minutes or an hour to be safe). I did this with my sister and we were delighted. Folks on the plane were surprised and wished they had done the same. Here's what we did: 1. When the plane landed and we were out of airplane mode, we called Fish Express to place our "Take out" order. 2. Then I used the Uber app to request a ride that had two stops; Fish Express and then LIH airport. 3. We deplaned, headed to the rideshare area and caught our ride. 4. We were so excited and explained to our driver our plan. Fish Express is 2 miles / 6 minute drive from the airport. 5. When we arrived at Fish Express, our Uber ride waited while we ran inside to get our order. 6. We picked up a traditional Hawaiian ahí poke bowl and Korean beef ribs with rice. Fish Express has so many types of poke, fish is always fresh, salads, Korean beef ribs, chicken, even hamburgers. 7. We paid, got back in our ride and we were back at the airport in a just a few minutes. 8. Sure we waited in the TSA line like everyone else and it was worth it. 9. We walked to our gate with time to spare. 10. About 10 minutes into the flight we opened our lunches and folks were asking where we got our food. Best decision and I would do it again. read more

Ok...literally about the best poke i've ever had...on any of the islands or in California. Fish is incredibly fresh, tasty and melt in your mouth. Great flavor that doesn't overwhelm the fish in soy or spiciness. Hamachi and tako is wonderful. It's all great and the best is the self-serve fixin's bar you can add what you like (you pay by the ounce additional) to your bowl. It's so good, we went back right before our flight out. This was our first stop upon arriving Kauai. There's less than 10 parking spaces. I felt rushed when ordering. It was my first time so I wasn't really sure what to order. I was trying to check out all my options. I ended up getting two orders of the 2 scoops poke meal for $11.99 each which somehow ended up totaling up to $30.70. Once they give you your bowl you add the toppings you want then they weight it. So really the price you see on the board behind the counter is not the actual price you pay. I thought it was pretty pricey for the portion that I got. The poke was basic. With all the other poke places on the island I guess it's good to try at least once. read more

Everything was so yummy! My boyfriend and I were super pleased! The portions are big and amazing the price was decent but most importantly the food was bomb and the service was good. I went to Kauai yesterday for work and only had an hour and half to spare after I finished work and had to leave back to Oahu. I was looking through yelp and found this gem! I am so glad I did! I'm not super familiar with the island but this place is not hard to find. Their parking is good. It's small but people are in and out so if Parkin is full one usually quickly comes available. All their food looked super good. They have plate lunches, many poke options, salad, sandwiches, poke bowls, fish fillets, drinks, individual candy/ li hing Mui seeds, and so much more! I asked what was the most popular mahi plate, mahi Katsu. Comes with white or brown rice and toss greens or potato salad. Decided to be health and got the toss greens, but I wish I got the potato salad because it was the sting kind not the copper cube one. As I was waiting for my food, I also got salmon poke and paid for it. As I was waiting I was looking at everyone else's orders and sides of poke, seaweed salad, potato salad and it looked so great! All the workers were very friendly and nice! I really liked the vibe of this place! Next time I am in Kauai, I'll definitely stop by again. Oh and it's super close to the Lihue Airport. read more
