Tried the pot roast, not so good. It's more like a stew with potatos in it and gravy. Not what I expected. Usually you get thinly sliced beef from the roast with a brown gravy with your veggies. Won't get it again. Speedy's Diner pot roast is much much better. Back to them. Sirloin house has a nice breakfast, so we'll stick to that. Service was fine at the pick up desk. Wanted a gd breakfast spot and this place was recommended to me. The outdoor and indoor decor is nothing fancy whatsoever. Upon entering, I realized how tiny the breakfast "buffet" was, but decided to step out on faith LOL and try it anyway. Mainly retirees and elderly people seem to frequent this establishment. Items on the buffet: a very small fruit bar on one side with cottage cheese, melon, pineapple and grapes I believe. A very small hot food bar on the left with ham, bacon, hot dogs, bologna, grits, eggs, cheese sauce for the eggs, sausage, French toast sticks, mini pancakes, fried potatoes, sausage/peppers/onions. Pros You do get a little variety of everything I suppose Excellent wait staff - very friendly and sweet Easy to get to Ample parking Cons Buffet was too small despite having so many items Price of $15 ....not worth it. Staff was phenomenal especially for a holiday (Thanksgiving Day). They were right on top of things- drinks refreshed and refilled, food was served fast (we ordered from the menu) although they had an excellent buffet bar. We hit it at the perfect time about 1:30 PM, there was basically no wait although they had a constant stream of people coming in and out. Food was good, but mediocre. I ordered Chicken Tips with peppers and onions, Fried Okra, Macaroni & Cheese with Texas Toast. Toast was very hard and I barely touched it. My sons ordered Spaghetti and Grilled Chicken with loaded Cheese Fries. Heads up- the cheese is nacho sauce, which we didn't realize until it arrived. Not the waiter's fault but ours for not paying attention. We also got a Sampler Appetizer. It was great. All three of us ate for less than $60. I was impressed. read more

Friday date night, in the mood for a good steakhouse experience. I've been following Kimber's in Gibsonville lately, but gf didn't want to travel that far. Neighbor suggested Sirloin House; he and his late partner used to frequent there. Easy to find, right on Hwy. 14. Place was almost full, but no wait for a booth for two. Seated immediately, presented with menus and asked for our drink order. As it was our first time, we took our time perusing the menu (waitress revisited several times). Strike one, for a 'steakhouse', there were only about three steak choices. I opted for a seafood combo of deviled crab and fried flounder. Barb ordered ribs, but was told they were out. A few more minutes while I was eating my Caesar salad she decided on a ribeye steak. Strike two, no wine or beer. Both dinners came out fairly quickly. Mine with a baked potato and hushpuppies, hers with a baked sweet potato and Texas toast. I wasn't exactly sure how to go about eating my deviled crab cake, as it appeared to be a stuffed crab shell on a stick. I tried just taking a bite, but got a mouth full of shell. I ended up finishing with a fork. Really didn't have much crab, or flavor. The flounder was breaded, and cooked fine, but also not a lot of flavor. I probably should have asked for a couple lemon wedges or some tartar sauce. The baked potato was loaded with butter, and sour cream on the side. Hushpuppies were piped, like a funnel cake or churros. Decent flavor. Barb's ribeye was probably the thinnest I've ever seen; barely a 1/2" thick after cooking. I guess it was medium, as ordered, but hard to tell. It was a bit chewy. Her sweet potato with cinnamon/sugar was pleasing, and the homemade ranch dressing on her salad was plentiful and tasty. Though fairly full, we both opted for a dessert. Her, the peach cobbler, me, the lemon meringue pie. Her cobbler did have decent peach flavor, but was more cobbler than fruit. My pie could have used less sugar and more lemon flavor. All in all, the service was good, but it seemed more like an overpriced cafe than a steakhouse. I would return, if only to try their sirloin tips ("famous for", on their t-shirts) or breakfast buffet. read more

Living in the small areas we go drive the 20 minutes to eat different places and at the sirloin house, the service and the sirloin were the only things worth having. Chassidy was awesome, she took great care of us. The host, and another lovely server were very welcoming and attentive as well. Now as for the food... The cooked rice definitely didn't seem to be cooked, the Mac and cheese was watery and bland, the fried potatoes well, also weren't very appetizing. The blooming onion was pretty good! The filet mignon was tasty, and the sirloin tips with peppers and onions was delightful. The fried okra and sweet tea were my favorites. read more

We dined at Sirloin House with a large party for a surprise birthday celebration. While everyone seemed pleased with their food, one of the waitresses definitely did not have the skill set to be serving for large parties. She seemed rather flustered from the moment the first few guests arrived. Her frustration seemed to increase exponentially throughout dinner. The night culminated with the server in question slamming down a stack of checks and bad mouthing our party, not realizing that she was in the presence of some of the party members. While I understand that it isn't easy to attend to a large party, we were well behaved, polite, and we weren't needy or complaining. It just boils down to the fact that she doesn't have what it takes to be a great server. All in all, the food was good, one waitress was great, and the other waitress should consider switching careers. read more

A local place that was recommended to us to try but having been there twice, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The food was ok, nothing great and on both trips, the bacon on the buffet was incinerated beyond being edible. It and the gravy were super salty - like crazy salty. (Fail) Sirloin tips were OK, requested medium rare and they were more on the medium well side. Collared Greens were OK as was the broccoli/cauliflower salad. Lots of sugar in both. I had the hamburger steak with grilled onions with fried okra as a side. My friend had the country style steak with gravy and fried okra and mashed potatoes. Her steak came out cold but they were nice about correcting that. My steak was fine temperature wise but not the most flavorful hamburger steak with gravy I've ever had. Tables and seats could have been a bit cleaner but it wasn't horrible by any means. The waitress was really nice. The bathrooms were decently tidy. read more

The Sirloin House is close to the Hampton inn and opens at 6:00 AM. The prefict time for me. Their staff is friendly and accommodating. The Western omelet was perfect and well presented. I am in Eden every 3 months or so and will be enjoying breakfast here. read more

I tried the breakfast buffet recently and I thought it was a great deal, even with somewhat limited selections. It was only $7 for AYCE bacon, sausage, sausage links, white sausage gravy, biscuits, grits, hashbrowns, fruit and made to order eggs. I think a drink is included since I had tea with my meal for that same price. I really liked that they took your order for eggs cooked any way you wanted them, versus a pan full of that awful scrambled egg product. All the meats were fine, but I didn't care for the sausage patties which an off taste even though it looked like hand-pattied fresh sausage instead of frozen product. The grits were nice and thick the way I like, but really needed seasoning. The white gravy was a mix, but a very a good one with plenty of chunks of sausage floating around to give it some flavor. The real winner was the hashbrowns, which seemed to be leftover baked potatoes grilled up with onions, the best I've had in quite a while. One of the fruit dishes was canned cocktail mix, while the other one was bananas floating in what appeared to be Chinese sweet and sour sauce. I have no idea what it actually was, maybe strawberry or cherry flavor sauce? I have been a couple times for dinner. They offer meat and 2 veg Southern style fare at a very reasonable price. It's fine for what it is, but it certainly won't leave you anything but full. They also have several steak selections but I've never tried them. Service is pretty casual, they seem to chat with regulars or friends instead of watching the whole section, but it's not the worst service by any means. I would really go 3.5 half stars here if we could. It could do 4 with better service I think. read more

Not a lot available in Eden but stopped in for a steak. We started with a mushroom appetizer which had like a light tempura batter and was delicious. My wife ordered a filet and I ordered a ribeye and they both had great flavor. Seasoning was on point. My steak was ordered medium and was a little past that but it was a very good steak. Walked into the restaurant with several people waiting to check out/pick up. We waited patiently for the young lady to acknowledge us to get our order. She did everything she could not to acknowledge us, then i went to the counter and she finished doodling on the paper and walk away. I said " she must don't see us". She turned around and said excuse me. she tried to start something and I ignored her. i told my kids to order what they wanted. The rest of the visit she kept staring at me like she was intimidating me. She went into the restroom with her cell phone, so I know she call/texted a friend in the kitchen. She kept making smart comments to customers and the cusyo ers where clueless. One guy said " you know my dad" after he expressed the good was hood given his dad had been sick. She tried to get the custoMets to engage in her nonsense. , " I guess I have been hood enough and I guess I am allowed to go to the bathroom". She told everyone on call in orders to hurry up the phone was about to go dead. The phone gave no indication of dying and ..... it was on the receiver. Please think about it. Our food was piping "cold". We sat In The restaurant for over 45 minutes and the restaurant was not crowded. A worker asked Whose food is this " over in the corner". She proceeds to walk to use hand us the bags and apologize for the wait. and said whose food is this in the corner. I had we even asked for our food when we saw packed. Don't expect fast service here, even when it's not a busy night. Last time we visited this place on a Thursday, we waited 45 minutes for our food. The waitress said it was because we ordered such a meaty meal... If "meaty meal" means 2 orders of sirloin tips and 1 flounder... its a STEAKhouse! And this was not the first time we've had to wait that long for our food. The food is typical for a steakhouse, it's nothing to write home about, but it's by no means "horrible food," you just have to wait forever to get it. There's not much character to this restaurant, lack of pictures and decorations on the walls makes the place feel cold and un-inviting. read more

My friend and I had lunch at the Sirloin House today after church. It was busy but we arrived around 1230 and there wasn't a wait. She had the buffet (roast beef, fried chicken, fried fish, spaghetti, green beans, potato salad, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, greens, salad, etc) and I had a ribeye meal. The ribeye was sliced thin but was tasty nonetheless. On a whim I asked for a sweet potato and they had it. My squash and onions was great too as a side. I tried the lemonade and it was delicious! Probably fresh squeezed-i highly recommend it. Our server, Summer, was patient and attentive to our needs. All the staff were friendly and helpful to me, a visitor to Eden. The main concern in this place is the slippery floor. There are signs everywhere reminding you to be careful but sometimes the hunger takes over and you may walk faster than needed and bust your butt so watch out! The food is average but the service is horrible. They have an army of waitresses but only one seems to be able to seat people. At least four are standing around talking to each other rather than serving the customers. Sad thing is Eden does not have much to choose from for restaurants.
