We started a little renovation in our home.. and if you have done this before you know that the little things add up. We have a galley style kitchen and we thought that we wouldn't have to spend so much on tile materials because let's face it we don't need much. 30sf here 30sf there... I like many renovating homeowners watch HGTV like it's going out of style and well I saw a kitchen that I could just die for and it had the most beautiful tile backsplash. So I was on a mission I can have the same look, until I went to Lowes and saw that each PIECE was $20.00 ++a square foot. Um $600.00++ for a back splash I think not!!! I knew I could find this tile somewhere else so I did some research and happened to stumble upon an online wholesaler who happened to be in Southern California, (so I called) who happened to be in San Diego, who happened to be right around the corner from where I work. As I walked in to this office space I was greatly surprised by the sheer beauty of what they had to offer.. All the new and up and coming tile materials you could think of all in this showroom. The Five Elements is by far the nicest place I have been to here in San Diego I thought for sure this was going to be a spendy trip. I was WRONG they had exactly what I wanted for a phenomenal price. I ended up doing my kitchen and bathroom and now we are thinking about doing 1 more bathroom. If you are looking for innovative tile from the floor to the walls you should check this place out! My husband and I recently decided to remodel our master bathroom. We've always admired the young and modern designs in Dwell magazine and hotels such as the W and Hard Rock. The first step for us was to pick out the perfect tile and stone, but we were disappointed at what we were finding until we walked into The Five Elements. What an incredible find!!!! If you're looking to update your kitchen, bath, bedroom, living room, etc., this place has an amazing assortment of reasonably priced tiles and stone! I spent an hour just browsing and sorting through their samples and display units. I have literally been to over 20 showrooms in San Diego and I can confidently say this place tops them all. We recently bought a home with 7 bathrooms, all in great need of significant remodel. Then we decided to update the kitchen. Before we knew it, we were remodeling the entire house. Thank goodness for the Five Elements. Without their stylistic expertise and reasonable prices, our home remodel never would have gotten off the ground. I never write reviews (there have been a few times that i have really wanted to write one but my best intentions were never realized--sorry Amazon Sellers.) But I digress... There is this great, local flooring store that might help any of you out there looking for a different tile buying experience. The Five Elements, in Carlsbad, is owned by Christa and Tad. Christa was friendly, knowledgeable and interested in finding the perfect laundry room tile that I would love (but who really cares about, let alone loves, their laundry room tile, right?). She picked out a tile that I wasn't even going to bring home, but it had a shell-like color and texture that fit exactly with the Beach Modern theme of our remodel. It turns out, once I got the sample home, I loved it!! Go figure. Anyway, I bought tile for the entire remodel from The Five Elements because all the tile I bought was so unique and cool. I also like supporting local business and the tile looks like I had an unlimited budget (I definitely didn't). I would recommend The Five Elements to anyone who has a surface to tile! read more
