I love Flame Broiler, and eat at many of their franchises, but stay away from this one! Literally, the worst one out there. Waited 30 minutes to have my order made completely wrong. After another 15 minutes....that's right, still wrong. Asked for a refund and then went to the Cypress one where the had my order done and correct in 5 minutes. The owner of this places has new, inexperienced cooks and counter workers at all times. He is never there and is obviously and very poor business manager. I normally go here at least once or twice a week but after today I can't go back. Service is great but I thought this was a healthy place to eat. But as I'm waiting for my food a woman walks in with her dog and nobody says a thing. I ask the lady at the counter if it's ok to bring dogs in the restaurant she tells me "I don't know I have to ask my boss" well I'm curious Boss are dogs welcomed in your healthy restaurant where people were sitting down trying to eat there food?? Allyson (according to receipt) was running that place with a smile on her face the whole time. I've been in the service industry for over ten years and I can vouch that she was "slammed." Non-stop crowd through the door and a full seating area. She handled her work like a professional and was very courteous to each guest. Never looked phased. Don't let her down again like that, Flame B. You're overworking an underpaid employee. Perhaps you need one more employee on during the rush hour. You're lucky this young lady handled everything with such grace, but I can guarantee you that not every employee acts/treats guests this way. I don't usually review American fast food chains, but there's a guy here who is incredibly enthusiastic. He chats with the customers and comes off as someone who enjoys his job--or at least wants to provide the best service he can. Seems like a cool guy; he even gave me a free drink once. read more

I just went there today to pick up some lunch. I had gotten a 2 for 1 coupon on my car windshield at work, they just opened up. So I get myself the Flame Broiled Chicken Bowl w/Half Veggies and Half Brown Rice. The BEST part is that they let you substitute Brown Rice at no extra charge! BONUS!!! Thats a definite plus!!! It made the me give it one extra star because of this! The Veggies was mostly Cabbage, which lucky for them I really enjoy. Along with some broccoli and carrots. The Chicken itself was very juicy and with just the right amount of Teriaki sauce, it made for one delicious lunch. I saved the other bowl for tomorrow... I think I'll be a regular, to bad it's a small parking lot in the front, but there is also parking in the back. (It's next to the Rite Aid) read more

I really enjoy this restaurant chain. The food is always fresh and delicious. I visited this particular location today and the cashier, Jimmy, displayed some outstanding customer service. He was friendly and helpful. As I ate my lunch, I noticed Jimmy checking to make sure napkins, utensils and condiments were stocked. I told Jimmy and his manager what an outstanding job Jimmy was doing. I will go back again. It is clean and I hope all the service is as good as what I received today! read more

Love that this is so close to my house. Portions are big and I usually get two meals out of one bowl. Food is fresh and yummy. Reason for the three stars: The past two times we have been the cashier is very unfriendly and has an attitude. The first time we gave her our two for one coupon. She took it but didn't apply the discount. We didn't realize this until we were waiting for our food. When we went back and showed her our receipt she seemed very inconvenienced and annoyed. The second time was no different. Asked her if we could do half and half meat and she very rudely said, "that would be called the works bowl" and pointed to the sign on the wall. She seems to have a chip on her shoulders every time we go. As we were turning to leave her manager walked out and that's when she changed her tune. As said, "Thanks for coming! have a good day"! Chicken, veggies, and brown rice for $8 is a good deal. Quick and healthy (assuming you lay off the sauce). The sauces are mild, even the spicy ones, so go bold. The place isn't much to look at. I actually thought it was closed/out of business until I got to the door. Worth a quick bite. read more

This place just opened up recently and there was a coupon in the mail saying "buy one bowl, get one free" so I decided to get some food there. I got the chicken and it was pretty good. The sauce they give you is on the salty side so it is important to do a taste test before dumping it on your meal. It was good and healthy but compared to all the other places around the area it is hard to say if that will be my first choice the next time I am craving some chicken and rice. It is inexpensive which definitely helps it. It is right next to Rite Aid and Great Dane bakery so the parking lot is nice, and hopefully it will do well there. read more

The food is consistent. Good veggies, brown rice, and meat. Beef and chicken are always a little fatty and a little too charred, but that's what you get here. Like I said, consistent. Good flavor. I LOVE their red sauce (it's like a mild sriacha) mixed with the teriyaki. read more

We walk to this location a lot. Each time there seems to be new people working there, any they are always nice. The food is served quick, and everything has always been great. The rice has always been cooked perfect, no hard pieces in it, and that seems to be a rare thing. Keep up the good work, we will be back. read more

'Tis restaurant is awesome!! Their bowls are filling even the mini bowl. I love to have a steak and veggie bowl. The location is on the main blvd. but away from the traffic of other centers....love it!! The lady was friendly when I asked about how long they've been there, and was positive and smiling. My friend and I drive from seal beach last Sunday to this flame broiler location in Los Alamitos. I ordered the Works Bowl and my friend mini rice chicken bowl, to go. My bowl was not full, maybe a tablespoon of white rice (I ordered brown rice) and very few veggies. My friends mini bowl was HALF full. LAST TUME WE FOR THIS PLACE. Eat here if you want your order made wrong, to be called names, be harassed and not get your food or money back. I asked politely to have it fixed to the way I had ordered it when the meat and veggies were completely wrong. After treating me really badly, she verbally confirmed what I wanted and proceeded to make the bowls the same wrong way she did the first time. I asked why she would make it the same way and she said that's how I ordered it. I asked her again to make what I wanted or give me my money back. She called me a liar, and a few other names and told me I ordered it how she made it and refused to make it the right way or refund me. She then proceeded to scream at me and throw an entire bowl on the floor. She repeatedly gave me problems saying things like "do you know how much this costs?" As she threw away four bowls. I said that wasn't my fault and that she should make my food how I ordered it. I am extremely disturbed by this behavior. Her name is Loretta and she says she's the manager. She refused to get anyone else to speak to and refused to give me the contact information of the owner. I hope if you're considering dining here you find somewhere else. No one deserves to be treated like I was especially as a paying customer. I am nice, respectful and polite and this "woman" was an absolute monster. read more

This is the worst Flame Broiler we have been to. Completely burnt chicken; the kind that leaves that charcoal taste in your mouth (only needed one bite). Also bit down on a chicken bone. Second time the meal has not been worth the money. All other FB's I have been to have been excellent. When I called, the kid answering blamed it on the 'machine.' read more

Over the past 2 to 3 years, this place must have sold over 10,000+ vouchers from Groupon, Livingsocial, Amazonlocal, EAT24, etc... There's a reason why they have to do this as they probably wouldn't get much business otherwise. Notice how some Flame Broiler locations never participate in these offers while this place always has one or two running? Their food wasn't that great to begin with as I've visited this place for 2+ years now. Within the past couple of months, they RAISED prices on all their food, especially the beef bowls and they give LESS food than before. The amount of meat you will get is quite sparse compared to the other Flame Broilers. To make matters worse, you will commonly find blackened and burnt meat pieces throughout! I've been a long time yelp user but was so frustrated with this place that I had to leave my very first review. There are plenty of other choices so avoid this place even if you're getting a supposedly good deal through those aforementioned sources. read more

It has been some time since I went to this chain fast food, but last night I was tired of the same old Chinese places so we wanted something different. Flame Broiler is BBQ, ala Islander style. I have been to this location in the past and it was good, but last night I noticed a few convenient things...for instance, the catering table is right next to the door, with plenty of brochures and what the plates look like that you are getting for your party needs. Also, at the checkstand there were several bags already opened and flattened, read to go for orders that were either being called in or presented right there in the store--that's pretty good convenience for a Friday night. I also saw the soda machine to the right of the counter--on the same side about 5-10 feet from the restrooms--a good choice considering this is a small place and you need to keep it real. As for the place itself it was really clean. I noticed an all female crew, including the grill which was great-go girl power! As for the food itself, it was excellent and lived up to its name--flame broiled meats. We had both the chicken and the beef over white rice and also the salad and fresh orange cut is added to the side--nice touch and refreshing, especially on a hot DAY! As for the service--it was good. I have to commend the one attendant they have up front--she did good considering she was running the show! Oh and another addition to the food were the condiments. There was dressing for the salad (seasoned vinegar/oil combo) and also a hot sauce that is reminiscent of the hot wing sauce but better. Last but not least was the light teriyaki sauce for either dipping or pouring. LOVED IT and the price didn't kick me out of my seat. McDonalds or Inn and Out Burger? Nah, this was BETTER and more nutritious that I could see. They even offer you a choice of brown or white rice. Cool! read more

I have been going to this flame broiler for 3 years and would have given it 5 stars!! The customer service was awesome and the food was great. But now they have switched ownership. In just a couple of weeks the whole place has changed. The chicken is different and hard and rubbery. The forks are a down grade and with the tough chicken the forks almost break. They used to have pre made "to-go" sauces and now you have to make them yourself at the dinning room sauce station (which is a total mess and congested). We ordered without onions and instead of making a new bowl they picked off the 80% of the onions the other 20% I found while I was eating the bowl. The employees are great and happy to be there but you can tell that the owners are trying to skimp on everything to save money and in the end will lose them money by losing faithful customers because the quality has gone down. Sad because I would eat there about 4 times a week. I bummed. read more

I love this restaurant! I use to come here all the time but I got tired of the female cashier being so rude. So I stopped coming for a little while. Then 3 weeks and go I came back and they have this new male cashier. This guy is friendly, helpful, and pleasant. He seemed to be doing the work of 3 people while the other guy was talking on the company phone the whole time. The place is always clean and stocked with everything you need. Food is hot and Delicious. The restroom is clean and the television is usually showing something interesting. Over all a nice experience. If you have ever been there when the old cashier was working, and had an unpleasant experience, I recommend you come back. Its a very nice place to eat . Dine in or take out. Customer service is horrible, i went in to get a bowl and the cashier was beyond rude, i proceeded to order and from there it just got worse when i asked if she could refill the sauce pump she rolled her eyes and huffed proceeding to go into the back, she came back out and basically made a show of changing the dispenser, i got my food and told her to have a good rest of the night to which she mumbled whatever. I will not be comming back to this establishment sorry but you just lost buisness if i could give this no stars i would the only thing that got you a star is the food was alright read more
