Yesterday I went in at 848pm and the cashier named AILEEN has the worst customer service ever. I understand that I came in right before closing but your business says it closes at 9pm so you should expect to see customers walk-in till 859pm. As I approached the register she didn't greet me or asked me if I wanted to order. After I grabbed my food I said thank you and she did not acknowledge me. As I walked out she came around the counter and locked the door behind me. I looked at my phone and it was 852pm. She definitely wanted to be out of there. This location so far is one of the best. Never had to wait to long for my order (even during the lunch/dinner rush), place is squeaky clean,service is friendly. Parking is pretty easy they share the parking lot with Rite Aid,Love Child (woo hoo) and a couple of others. If you cant find parking in the main lot, then street parking is available or park behind the center is another option too. Getting back to the food... Flame Broiler is fresh and healthy! I decided to get the Works Bowl with brown rice and no green onions. Im pretty much impressed with their quality of veggies and meats, nothing tastes like its been sitting around all day. Veggies are crisp, the chicken and beef are tasty(not stringy or fatty at all). The brown rice is soft and fluffy(glad someone knows how to cook brown rice, dont you hate it when its semi cooked.. blah!!). I always forget about The Flame Broiler, but I am so thankful when I do remember them. I usually order the mini bowl with the works (chicken, beef, rice and veggies), I also sub with brown rice and get sauce on the side. The bowl looks super small, but it is exactly the right amount. I love Flame Broiler but its gotten hard to find a great one. This one is meh... I ordered the Chicken & Veggies bowl, all white meat and broccoli only ($7.77) should've been Lucky 7's but it was just so-so. They hide the sauce behind the counter and give you less than you ask for, but they do it with a smile. This place has good food but this location is alright. I have been wanting to try this place since I moved to California and one day I finally had the guts to go and try it. This location is right across from my apartment complex so it is definitely a great location. I received one of those coupons in the mail where I can buy two bowls and get a third one for free. So that's exactly what i did. I walked in and immediately they greeted me so that was quite inviting! I have been looking and studying their menu for a long time that's why I knew exactly what I wanted to get. I got two chicken bowls; one with white rice and the other with brown both with veggies, and a mix bowl without the veggies. It wasn't that bad of a wait really. I had enough time to actually browse around their condiments area and I got the MAGIC SAUCE and all three of their hot sauces. Went home and had the very first chicken bowl! I love veggies so I actually enjoyed the steamed veggies it came with. I also love the chicken and the flavor it carried so that's good. Just that the ratio between the chicken and the rice is a little off. The combo one was a little bit better because there was much more meat on that one. So i guess my tip is that if you want a lot of meat without getting the extra meat, you just have to order it without the veggies so you can have more space for the meat to fill. I don't know if that is how it is with different locations but I will try another location once I have the free time to do so. I opted for the ribs and chicken combo, which was tasty, but you need to be aware of bone fragments in the meat. Place had the A/C pumping (always nice on a hot day) and restaurant was clean. Heck, it better since they recently opened. Counter-girl was courteous when we tried to use the 2-1 coupon deal when we ordered plates; she just deducted the bowl cost from the plate my friend wanted. At first i did not really like this place...but this was about 5 years ago. Now i think it's pretty good and when you have a coupon, it's a good deal. The only time i really go is when i have a coupon. I use the one where if you buy 3 bowls, one of them is free. One bowl can fill me up pretty well, especially with all that rice. This one is a pretty small one. I would say about 5-6 tables. The employees were nice and for some reason, it always takes about 10 minutes to get my food. I am not saying it's slow, but i wish i could get it a little sooner. So when i get my 3 bowls, most of the time all 3 off them will be the mixed bowls (chicken and beef) all of them with white rice. I would like to eat more healthy and get brown rice, but to me the brown rice does not taste as good with the teriyaki sauce. The best "bowl" I have ever had. This place had just opened up, and I am usually skeptical of trying things in new places because usually the food taste bad when places first open up. Right when I walked through the door the chef and cashier both greeted me and said "Welcome to Flame broiler!", witch was really nice. So I asked them what they recommended, the lady at the register recommended the half-half bowl, so I got it. At the time the place was empty and the food took longer than I thought it would to be finished. Not really a con though. I got my food and the first thing that came to my mind was how appetizing it looked. At the table they have two choices of sauces to put on your bowl. I tried them both and they both taste really good. Unfortunately it isn't really easy to describe how something taste by writing about it, you'd have to try it yourself. I must be missing something here! This restaurant has been recommended to me by several people, so I decided to try it for a healthy meal after my workout today. I ordered a chicken and veggie bowl (and paid extra for all white meat chicken - they tell me this is the secret), and a drink. More than $9? Ok. I'm cool with that for a healthy meal. The cashier was very friendly and ran the entire place confidently. The place was crowded and she was taking orders and doing a great job of getting orders out. Very friendly and helpful. When I got back to my office and opened my bowl, it smelled like it was on fire. You know that "burnt" smell that you know is going to lead to a burnt taste? Uggh. I was immediately disappointed. I dug in anyway only to be more disappointed. I got 3 carrots and 2 pieces of broccoli. The cabbage is filler and there was plenty of that. I tried to hide the overpowering "burnt" taste with hot sauce to no avail. I tried to hide it with teryaki and hot sauce - still no go. It tasted like I was eating leftover charcoal. I guess maybe it was a bad day and I'll give it a go one more time, but maybe next time I'll order the beef and chicken combo and hope for the best. Certainly a wasted $9! read more

I've ordered from here a few times and they've always gotten my order correct. Today, however, they managed to mess it up not once, or twice, or even three times but 5 times... I originally put in an order through yelp (EAT24) for 3 bowls. 1 chicken veggie, 1 beef, 1 beef veggie with NO OTHER VEGGIES except cabbage. I get there to find the place packed. Somehow they thought I wanted all rice & veggies... no meat. I told them the correct order, confirmed it with the cashier and waited. I rushed back to the office to find that the beef veggie bowl with cabbage was actually just Beef & broccoli. There was no rice... just beef and broccoli. I gave them a call and told them to make a new order. I confirmed the order with them and my boss went to pick it up. He got there, gave them the order they messed up on and guess what? They gave him back the exact same thing. Beef & broccoli. He told them what he wanted and they gave him a beef veggie bowl with ALL the veggies. Finally, 40 minutes later he's back at work and now he's no longer hungry... So... lesson learned. 1) Never put in an order through yelp. I have to give Flame Broiler credit for moving into a location that has housed many unsuccesful food ventures. I had not stopped by because I thought that a chain store would not match the chicken and beef from Island grill down the street. Well, I finally tried it and regretted the fact that I had not stopped in sooner. Their chicken is very good and not overly dry, I love the fact that they have both brown and white rice and lastly I really liked their steamed vegetables. They're have this frequent customer card. When you buy 10 bowls/plates you get the 11th one for free. This keeps me coming to this specific location all the time. I LOVE that incentive!! The thing I especially like about this location is that they are very conscientious about conforming to the Covid guidelines of wearing a mask and social distancing. The FB by my house in Tustin is a bigger portion. There is more veggies and meat. Overall, I will not return to this location. The portion was on the smaller size and the beef was overcooked. Try Flame Broiler when you're looking for a healthier alternative then the typical fast food. It never seems to disappoint me. Basic skinless chicken or beef bowl with vegetables and a tasty sauce. Even better when you add some of the provided sriracha sauce. It's simple but good. Go before or after the noon lunch hour as this location and parking lot get's packed. Four stars because it's a little expensive at just over 5 bucks for a mini bowl but that includes a drink. It would be great if they'd knock a dollar off the price. Wishful thinking! read more
