    Side of Sausage links

Of the many locations I have been a DoorDash delivery driver for, this has been one I have been looking forward to actually coming as a customer to enjoy the food and location for myself. They did not disappoint. I went on a Wednesday morning after a doctor's appointment, which I had to fast for so I was really hungry and thirsty. The outstanding servers at Flipside quickly remedied both of those! Being that it was late morning in the middle of the week seating was quick and easy. I've been there on the weekends though picking up for DoorDash when the line has been out the door so please plan accordingly. But if the rest of their items are as good as what I had I now know why there is a line. My server was quickly to my table moments after I sat and was ready to get me a drink. I choose a simple soda but as they have a full bar there are so many choices! But even the simple soda delighted me as it was brought in a cute glass shaped like a soda can with the restaurant's name on it. I'm not sure if they sell them but I would have been a buyer today. Having delivered this dish to many times to count I knew what I was getting before I entered. The chicken and waffles will always be my go to order at any place that offers it so it was a no brainer. I added a side of sausage links, I like sausage with my breakfast and I wanted something else to rate. :) As I was thirsty I sucked down that first drink very fast and was happy when a server swooped by and filled it up for me and took the paper wrapper from the straw with her to clear the table. In hardly no time at all my order was delivered to my table. I was also asked if i wanted butter for my waffle, um yes please! My dish - the waffle was quite large and thick. It had a great crust to the outside but the inside was warm and fluffy. After the butter I poured the syrup over the waffle. It held up in the little waffle cups never really absorbed by the waffle and therefore it never got soggy. I got four decent sized chicken tenders, one for each quadrant of the waffle. At least, that's how my brain sized it up. The tenders were seasoned and coated well and would be a tasty snack on their own. Cut and stacked with bits of waffle made the ultimate bite! The sausage links were just as delicious! They were hot and the outer casing had a nice snap to them when you bit into them. It was the perfect compliment to the chicken and waffles. Overall my meal was amazing. The service was exemplary. The place is very cheerful and friendly. Just typing up this review made me crave another order of chicken and waffles. If you haven't yet been there then I highly suggest you get over there soon! I know I will be back soon!

Went this morning for Sunday brunch and I enjoyed my meal very much. The server was too-notch, very attentive and exuding great energy. I had the Flipside Biscuit Bake (two biscuits, sausage gravy, grits and two eggs over easy) and black coffee. A little pricey hit you feel like you are getting your money's worth. It's a nice-looking place, and I look forward to going back again soon.

Haven't been to the Flipside for breakfast in quite a while and had to drop my son off near by for a team breakfast with his soccer team. I sat at the corner of the bar so I can watch the PL Liverpool match while I eat my breakfast. Jerry was the server/bar tender and was hopping the entire I was seated take care of everyone at a busy bar. I settled on the pulled pork hash with eggs OE and a biscuit with gravy on the side. Jerry provided me BBQ sauce for an enhanced to the meal also. The potatoes were cooked through seasoned and crispy on the outside. At 9:30 when I sat down the alcohol serving countdown started complete with a mimosa prep station ready to go at 10am. Great breakfast to start my day in a welcoming and friend atmosphere. Cheers!

I came here based on reviews and I'm happy I did! I was greeted warmly, it was clean, and seated right away. The server was kind, food was delicious, and I'd definitely come back again!

Great experience here! Been wanting to check it out for a while and it did not disappoint. Sat at the bar and Jerri took care of us. The food came out fast and was delicious. She checked on us often and kept our drinks full! The place was busy and the dining room needed a reservation so get here early! Don't miss this spot :)

I haven't experienced this before, but for the first time I won't be coming back to a resturant because I felt so uncomfortable... When we first entered, the staff was SO nice. The waitress at the front was so nice and helpful, and although the place was packed and we had to wait 40 minutes, she kept checking if there were avaible places for us. I wished I remembered her name cause she was amazing. We sat at the bar, and the person attending to people said hi to EVERYONE and welcomed everyone except for my friend and I. After a while of no one attending to us, cause it was our first time going to this place, I asked for a menu and I was met with a rude response. We were shocked, and I honestly felt so uncomfortable even asking for water, we ordered our food, and the person was once again so rude to us. They were nice towards the end cause I think they felt obligated and could tell we were uncomfy and not happy with the service we were receiving, but not acceptable. Sucks cause the food was amazing. I think it was some of the best chicken and waffles I had. Ambiance was nice too, gave a good southern charm. But nope, won't be coming back

OMG - The "Food Scene" in Charlotte has "Cardiac Arrested" - Turns out, I think I may have found it - "The Food Scene" - Alive & Well - Across the Border in Fort Mill, South Carolina. Wake Up - Fellow Yelpers and Foodies - Oh L-rd! - I think I may have found the best Breakfast/Brunch Spot in the Carolinas. Sunday - 5 October 2025; - Searching & Desperate for a "Proper Meal" - which simply does not exist in Charlotte - I stumbled upon the The Flipside Café. The Flipside Café is located in an undiscerning shopping center in Fort Mill, North Carolina. Minutes from the North Carolina border. Good L-rd! - Service is a stand out; - Everyone is welcome with "Warm Southern Hospitality" - My waitress "Ashley F." was amazing and treated me like a family member; - I loved the "Southern Affection, Charm & Warmth" - I had to have the Chicken & Waffles; Thank you for respecting my religious beliefs and not making it a big deal that I don't eat Pork. Greatly appreciate. A picture speaks a thousand words; - Chicken and Waffles was amazing. Thank you for serving copious amounts of Fresh Butter in Small Metal Cups - Bonus! Scrambled Eggs arrived "Soft & Fluffy" & the English Muffin was Homemade and "Sourced" from some local Fort Mill Establishment. Coffee was kept flowing! Seating was extremely comfortable with a very chill and calm vibe. I could hear myself think! Definitely an A+ and I plan to return with some friends. I understand they have an amazing Lunch & Dinner Menu - which I plan to eventually check out. The Hamburger looks and sounds terrific. Parking was a Breeze - What a delight! - Thank you for a wonderful brunch and wonderful service!

We went to flipside cafe after church today around 12 and upon coming inside, it was a 30 minute wait for 4 of us. We sat in the car while waiting. The time passed by quick and they gave us a call that our table was ready ! After looking over the menu, we end up choosing chicken and waffles, the lobster omelette, and for the kids a breakfast plate and the other was pancakes and fruit. As you can see from the photos, the kids portion size was actually really big in my opinion. I love that their menu had a variety of items and not as traditional as every other breakfast place. There's a few other items I want to try in the future. I liked this spot and there was a bar on one side and there other area was more causal. It's small and intimate cafe vibes. The bar side lighting has cozier and more dim lighting. Our service person was very attentive and the food came out super fast. I don't even think we were waiting no more than 10 minutes !

OMGawsh!!! So we started a weekly couples brunch tour series, and this location was our first pick. It was great! The food, service, accommodations (18 people) and overall everything was amazing. Next week we will be at Stacks Diner in Matthews, NC. I will not be there, but our host is ready and willing. Invite coming to you shortly. Thank you Flipside for making this first meeting of the brunch tour series is the BEST!

Any other cheese besides pimento for burgers? American, cheddar, etc?

Yes you can ask for different cheeses for burgers. I know they have at least cheddar.

What would be appropriate attire and is there outdoor seating?

No outdoor seating. Nothing fancy but I always go put together a little. Jeans, shirt and flip flops are cool.

It can get quite busy and loud, so it's not the best place for an intimate conversation, and reservations can sometimes be difficult to get. That said, it's absolutely worth it. The menu changes regularly, so I try to visit whenever they announce a new one. Yesterday, we shared several small plates. The bacon-wrapped dates were phenomenal. I almost ordered a second serving before realizing we still had four other dishes coming! The chicken and waffles definitely satisfied my craving--crispy, savory, and full of flavor. The mushroom ravioli was also outstanding. We finished with the stuffed calamari, which reminded me of something my mom used to make when I was younger. It wasn't Asian-inspired like hers, but the concept brought back some wonderful memories. To top it all off, I enjoyed a delicious dessert while feeling pleasantly tipsy from the evening. I'd call that a win!

Everything about our experience at The Improper Pig was absolutely perfect! From the moment we walked in, the decor and atmosphere stood out and hit all the marks, a few dust places but I'm assuming this place has been here awhile so let's call it that...but the attention to detail made the restaurant feel unique, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed in a warm way. The service was top-notch, with a friendly and attentive waitress she was more eager to fill our drinks than I was to drink lol but honestly she single handily was a beautiful train of productivity, the entire staff was, very impressed, that's a rare find these days and especially for the South. The manager, I imagine runs a tight ship...that helped make the experience even better. The biggest surprise was when my fried rice arrived at the table. The portion size was incredible for the price, mostly because and the quality of the food exceeded my expectations. It was flavorful, satisfying, and clearly made with technique. I will say the brisket on the barbecue plate my husband ordered was incredibly dry, the plethora of flavors of barbecue sauce on the table couldn't help it either...I'm thinking they reheat the meat for the bbq plates throughout the day (which makes sense) but they maybe need to consider another reheating method or I'm curious when the bbq is freshly made...I'd love to come in that day. Either way I truly left almost completely speechless...what a gem. We will be back to ensure it wasn't a one off type of day. It's not often that you find a place where the atmosphere, service, value, and food all come together so well...with techniques going in the kitchen. Whew! There were downsides though too. I'm a burger guy. Asked for medium-well, based off menu chart and discussion with the server. It was to have had a fair amount of of pink and had none. Grade of meat was not great either. Not pleased that I was up-charged for cheddar cheese. My sandwich said American cheese came with it and the menu price to add any cheese was the same on the add-on list, so charging to sub out is a total scam. Was pleased to see they had hand-cut fries, but they came out quite dark and lacked French fry flavor, leading me to believe their fryer oil is probably overdue for a change. Bathroom was a big yuck. It needs a really thorough deep clean. Crusty stuff growing inside fixtures and wet floor surrounding them doesn't inspire confidence in what the kitchen may look like where your food is being prepared. Lastly, they have an effing up-charge for using credit cards. That's a great way to send customers like me elsewhere, if the other concerns weren't enough.
