I had them install my entire house many.many months ago. I reported then that they lost parts of the bunk beds that I had dissembled. So the bed were rendered useless and had to be replaced. I also mention the prominence or the seams. Was told that would go.away over time. Well NOPE. Now there are threads coming up. Understand this is a. Vacation home and does not get much traffic. Rarely vacuumed. But the installation was terrible. The customer service even worse. Larry, the owner, not helpful at all. Seriously why would anyone use The Floor Store? Buyer beware. read more

I've needed to do business with The Floor Store twice now over the last 6 months and have had awesome customer service. Tim McGlade was more than helpful in locating and ordering replacement vinyl planking that was needed after our refrigerator leaked, damaging the existing flooring. The special order arrived when he said it would and I was able to return the unopened boxes for a full refund when the project was completed. Yesterday he helped me with the selection of transition molding needed for a doorway between a tiled bathroom floor and carpeted bedroom. We ordered flooring for our entire house. The tile for the bathroom came in 2 different colors. Which then we had to pay our contractor at over $100/ hour to go back and forth from Petaluma. They finally got that right and then our carpet was damaged by a forklift and they were initially only going to order us a 12x17 for a 12x25 that was damaged. Again, now a different Dylot in rooms that meet up to each other. Brian our sales person, did all he could, however we spent over $400 in our contractor running back and forth due to their wrong orders. The manager was extremely UNWILLING to compensate us and only offered $200, when in fact we have a completely different Dylot in carpets and were originally given 2 different colors of tile. They said they would credit a future purchase. Who would EVER WORK WITH THEM AGAIN AFTER THIS EXPERIENCE??? NOT ME!! If the manager would have been willing to work with us maybe, not ever again will I work with them. I asked, specifically, to have the manager call me and he wouldn't!!! We have several residential and Commercial properties, including many people we know that equally have both residential and Commercial properties and they just lost all of our business because the manager chooses not to face the issues. Santa Rosa floor store just lost thousands of dollars in sales. All I requested was a call from the manager and ample compensation for incorrect and damaged flooring. We recently decided to install a new bamboo floor in our family room - about 400 square feet - to match the flooring in an adjacent room. I hunted around the area for different options, and found a variety of different grades of materials and installation quotes. I got a quote from Bryan Powell at the Floor Store for a high quality engineered bamboo product that included installation. He was helpful, patient, and knowledgeable, and provided me with a sample to take home to compare with the flooring I was trying to match. I thought the quote was high at the time. I wound up purchasing a less expensive product of lesser quality from a big box store, and installing it myself. Well, its four weeks later and I am still not quite finished. It looks OK, but some of the finishing installation details look problematic. I now understand the difference between various grades of engineered flooring, and the level of difficulty in a quality installation. I am very tired and sore from all the hands and knees work, but I have to finish because my wife wants our family room back. In retrospect, the Floor Store quote was realistic and competitive. My new floor would have been in by now, would have been of better quality, and I wouldn't be hurting. I am not likely to make the same mistake again. read more

We wanted to share our extreme frustration and disappointment with our order (dated October 9th, 2021) from the Floor Store (Almaden Expressway in San Jose, CA). We ordered laminate floors for our kitchen remodeling and to replace the second-floor carpet that we currently have. We were given the assurance by the Sales Rep, Rudy, that the flooring was going to be available by October 23rd so we went ahead with the remodeling of our kitchen. The following week, Rudy called us to let us know that the production date for the laminate floor was just scheduled on October 24th and that we should expect delivery by November 3rd. I called on October 29thto follow up and was informed that the expected delivery date has now been moved to November 30th. I asked if there was a chance to have it delivered at an earlier date since the work on our kitchen was almost complete and the flooring needed to be installed. I talked to Steve since Rudy was not there, and he told me to just check on the status from time to time. I called again yesterday, November 19th, asking for an update and now we were informed that the delivery date has been moved to 1st week of December. I told Steve that this is not acceptable and that our kitchen renovation is hanging because the flooring is not there. (Please refer to the picture attached). Steve said that he would call Mohawk on Monday and update me. This has been a truly frustrating experience. We were given the assurance that the flooring will be delivered in time for our kitchen remodeling. If Rudy and the Floor Store did not guarantee the delivery by the first week of November, then we would have replaced the entire laminate flooring in our first floor with one that is available. This delay has left the construction hanging, and it is really annoying to see our beautiful kitchen looking ugly because we are missing the part of the flooring that The Floor Store guaranteed will be delivered. In addition, this has also caused a delay in the replacement of our carpet in the second floor. We already have our contractor scheduled to continue work with our second floor and he has other work lined up, too. Who knows if he would available to work on our second floor by the time The Floor Store delivers the laminate floor that we ordered specially since The Floor Store keeps on delaying the delivery? We had very high expectations with the Floor Store after seeing your advertisements on the TV. Whatever happened to your guarantee that stocks are available and that customers will not wait for weeks or months for the installation of the floors. Your TV ad also guaranteed installation before the holidays. It is not Thanksgiving and our floor has not arrived. Counting from the date of the order, it has been already almost two months. What is also frustrating is that we will not know about these delays if we were not calling The Floor Store for updates. Whatever happened to the courtesy of calling customers and informing them of any delays in their orders. This is VERY POOR customer service! We are still awaiting on what Steve will tell us on Monday BUT we definitely cannot accept the fact that we will need to wait for a longer time for the flooring to arrive. If you cannot guarantee delivery, then you should have told us in the first place so we would have looked at other alternatives. This experience has truly put your company in a bad light and we are thinking of telling our friends about this and posting this on our social media account, complete with pictures. This is TRULY UNACCEPTABLE and we hope to hear from you to appropriately address this issue. read more

My wife and I went into the local floor store in search of the perfect floor (Upstairs) to match our existing hardwood floors (Downstairs). Of course, it was a BUSY day inside the store and all the sales associates were busy helping other customers. Within minutes, ALAN apologized for the wait and said he would be right with us. ALAN then asked us what exactly we were looking for and pointed us in the right direction so we didn't waste time looking at things we didn't need. The sales rep Alan really came through for us. We had a difficult basement unit with cement slab leveling. They took the job very seriously even though it was not that large of a job coming to measure twice, helping us to use all the materials with minimal waste and helped us to choose the best product for our needs. I first hired The Floor Store to install vinyl flooring in my home in Oakland, CA. I like to have my vinyl floors coved, so there can be a wait in order to secure an installer who knows how to do this work. These were two jobs done at separate times: bathroom and kitchen. Each time I was amazed at what a terrific job the installers did, and I did not hesitate to contact The Floor Store to install new vinyl flooring in my home in Santa Rosa, CA. Unfortunately, I was extremely unhappy with the job that was done in my bathroom. The flooring was poorly done, and the entire room was filthy. Since the installer seemed to be spending a lot of time on his phone using the walkie-talkie function, I have to doubt that he knows how to install vinyl with coving. I followed up with Robert and Hank back at the store. Hank came out to look at the job and did agree with me that the job was poorly done and that the job would have to be redone. However, he did begin to defend the installer, finding excuses for the poor installation, which did not make me happy. I also received a routine E-mail from Ricca Noyola, the Customer Experience Manager & Claims Specialist, following up on the job and hoping that I was happy with the results. I didn't hesitate to vent my frustration. Why am I awarding five stars? Ricca was epic. I felt heard, and she followed up on my complaint. Hank also followed up with procuring the vinyl again (there was a supply system problem due to COVID, unfortunately) and arranging for a new installer to come out to redo the job. The new installers were wonderful to work with. They did a top-notch installation and kept me involved through the process. They went the extra mile, which surprised me considering my previous experience. When the job was completed, and they called me in to review their work, I saw exactly what I had expected in the first place, a beautiful floor and a clean room. One piece of advice: considering I missed this, I am appreciative that The Floor Store responded to my complaint. The boilerplate language used in the contract specifies that the new floor would be installed on top of the old one. I believe that this might be a safety issue regarding asbestos, but since I had assured Robert that the floor had been replaced three or four times and the subfloor replaced once, I thought that the old floor WOULD be removed before the new vinyl was put in. It was not, and this was one of the problems with the first job. Read the contract. When I was adamant that the old floor be taken up when the job was redone, they came through, and I am grateful for that. The Floor Store stands behind its work. We had our plank flooring installed by the Floor Store installers Dennis and Jeff from Santa Rosa. They did an excellent job. They were both very professional and experienced in installing plank flooring. They gave great detail to fitting the base boards and quarter rounds to fit the existing conditions. They were also very good at laying the planks out in a pattern that looked very pleasing, not all the light planks close together. read more

This is a further excellent experience with the Floor Store. The flooring we put in our kitchen in 2019 was connected to our living room carpet by a strip of flooring about and inch and two-thirds wide, and similar strip along the narrow gap in the floor along our sliding glass patio doors. The flooring under each of these strips is poor and the strips had begun to come loose. I did not consider that this problem lay with the original installation. The under-flooring is very rough. So I made that clear when I asked for the strips to be re-sealed. Two men came and spent a couple hours gluing the strips back in place, which required going to buy a small block of wood to replace a gap in the under-flooring. I've waited two months for a bill. None has come. This store is incredible. read more

If I could give this place negative stars I would. They install with very cheap quality. They leave trash all over including my front yard in the him and in my garage. Sawdust all over my garage nails all over my driveway. Did not finish when they said they would. Store manager does nothing about it. Give a small credit and allows it to keep continuing even after the credit was given. Then they have to come out several time to measure things they forgot to measure they screw you on the pricing it's different every time you go in. Then they have the nerve to charge me for a delivery fee after all of this and I'm sure I left a lot of other things out they screwed up. This place in the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with from the store manage to the sales staff to the installer complete shit show. NOT TO MENTION LEAVING MY KITCHEN SINK RUNNING ALL NIGHT and AFTER I POSTED THIS REVIEW THE MANAGE LEFT ME A VOICEMAIL TALKING CRAP AND COME TO FIND OUT THE BASE BORDS THEY DID INSTALL WERE INSTALLED WRONG UNBELIEVABLE read more

Mark made my experience amazing! I had a quote for new bathroom flooring from "The Big Guys" that was going to take 3 weeks to get done. Mark was able to do it that week, with a MUCH higher quality product and for substantially less - like 2/3 the price! I can't say enough about his outstanding customer service and the workmanship of the installers. I was so pleased with the speed and cost of that project that I ended up having them replace my living room carpet as well. All in all, great customer service, speed and price. I have to say that I had a completely different experience than the negative reviews. In fact, I would say it almost the opposite. Henry never slammed me with a hard sale pitch. I felt like I was talking to a man who wanted me to buy a floor but, that's what he does. He waited 2 years for me to come back. About two years ago I saw a floor sample outside the store that I really loved so we went into ask about it. We met Henry and he told us about the flooring and showed us other samples of some woods and tile, as we planned to use tile in the kitchen. He gave us samples to take home. He came over to the house and measured everything. He then nicely endured my changes of mind on what was what. And finally my pull out of the purchase. Jumping forward I called him up about 3 weeks ago and told him of my plans to redo the floors. He had my file in his computer and went right to it finding all the previous plans and measurements. (I think its great that even after declining the service 2 years ago he still had my info.) We made an appointment for him to come measure the additional areas I decided and in less than a week he had is team over here pulling up the hideous 30 year old turquoise carpet. Sergio and Thomas were just great. They were mindful of my cats in the mornings as they were always hiding trying to avoid lockdown in the bedroom for the day...as was I... They were so professional and so nice. They paid great attention to detail and my floor is AMAZING. Sergio hand stained the wooden vents I wanted to match and cut all the trim in the kitchen by hand. These guys were just great. If I ever need anything more done with my floors I wouldn't call anyone else. read more
