every 2 weeks the flavor change and recently there were Indian inspired doughnuts - Kheer, chocolate tahini, mango lassi, and carrot halwa all of them were chefs kiss! Our group could not stop talking about it! Really hope these flavors come back, or stay for longer!!

We love flourbox donuts and have come to get them many times by now. Every time there's around a 1.5hr wait. Today, pregnant mama was craving cinnamon rolls so we planned all week to come and get them. Here's how the cinnamon rolls were: Fluffy and soft, inside and out. Tasteful amount of frosting. Light cinnamon sugar nestled between layers. Personally, I like my cinnamon rolls slightly undercooked and doughy in the middle. I also like have more cinnamon sugar, so that it kind of oozes. These are not that. They are cooked perfectly the whole way, no doughy center, but also no hard/dry exterior. The cinnamon sugar is light, not syrupy or drippy. The entire thing was sweet, but not too sweet. Were they good? Yes. Would I wait 1.5hrs next time? Probably not. The macrina cinnamon rolls are just fine without the wait in my opinion. The matcha latte paired well with the cinnamon roll, and the two complimented each other. Will come back for more donuts next time though!

I've heard so much buzz about this place, but I'm wondering if my hour-long wait is really worth it. I STAND CORRECTED! It is definitely worth the wait! I've bought two of each kind of donuts. The maximum purchase is eight donuts per person. Flavor for the month were: HOKEY POKEY CARROT CHEESECAKE MATCHA CREAM YUZU CURD Even after three days in the fridge, they were still amazing! The specialty item that day was the STICKY TOFFEE CAKE. Again maximum was 2 per person. Now I totally why it's so popular! It's my absolute favorite! You can now add me to your fan base list!

The Flour Box is a delightfully cute bakery, but you should definitely be prepared for a bit of a wait. The lines here are notoriously long, and I genuinely wish they offered an option for pick-up orders to help bypass the crowd outside. That being said, once you finally get inside, the service is impressively quick. The ambiance is very charming and welcoming. I picked up a latte alongside a sea salt brownie and three donuts: honeycomb, yuzu, and matcha. The honeycomb donut was easily my favorite of the bunch. The absolute best part of the entire experience, though, is the actual dough of the donuts. The texture and flavor of the bread itself are phenomenal and truly set their pastries apart from other spots in Seattle. Overall, the baked goods are fantastic and well worth trying. If the ordering process was just a little more convenient, it would easily be five stars!

The Flour Box is very well known, rightfully so. Lines always form before they open, but it's much better than waiting in line while they're open. Show up earlier and spend less of your day waiting. Seating is available, but expect it to be cold (outdoors with a cover). A bit overhyped (most things are) but delicious and worth a visit. High quality, rotating flavors, consistency, and limited stock draw the crowd. Gen-Matcha Latte - honestly pretty basic, very similar to coffee shop matcha. The overall drink was milkier than desired and the matcha isn't too potent, but it can satisfy the craving if there's no better options or there's a time crunch. With the rise of matcha specialty places, I'd consider matcha elsewhere. Roasted Banana - at $5.50 a donut, it's pricey, but worth trying at least once, maybe twice, three times, or more. Banana is a fairly powerful flavor and here it's also creamy, smooth, and not too sweet. I can imagine ripe bananas are used here meaning minimal added sugar, because the filling isn't that sweet. The brioche itself is a wonderful fluff and I feel like the sprinkled sugar on top is sweeter than the filling. Okinawa Sweet Potato - at $5.75 a donut, the 25 cent increase could be attributed with the tasty mochi sealing the filling. Joking, I'm sure the ingredients for this filling can be pricier plus the labor is a bit more effort. Sweet potato is a classic taste that ube and taro lovers will enjoy. The nutty potato flavors are roasted with a coconut flavor, there's a faint smokiness while not being overwhelmingly sweet.

The Flour Box needs no introduction, and frankly probably doesn't even need this review. But the photos I took during my most recent visit are so pretty I figured I may as well put them up here! This round of flavors was their best one yet, the Yuzu was so fresh and sour while the Kimchi one was original and satisfying. My favorite was the Jasmine milk tea one, the tea accent in the cream was so beautiful. I waited 1 hour 45 minutes total this time, I usually come once every 2 or 3 months when I see a round of flavors i feel especially passionate about. I hope to see them continue to lean into making more original flavors, especially asian ones :)

There's a line. The wait is worth it. We got a variety of flavors but The Winter Cold Brew was my fave- the filling was light - but rich with coffee flavor rounded off with a a smooth orange flavor. The quality of the donuts is fantastic and soft and PACKED with the quality fillings. Can't go here every day but if you've got the time you should make it.

My friend follows The Flour Box on Instagram and saw their special donut offerings: Jasmine Milk Tea, Red Bean Cream, Yuzu Curd and Kimchi Everything! We went on a Friday morning and when we arrived there was already a line out the door. I've been here before when the line snaked around the block, so seeing the line only at the corner of the street made us feel lucky. When we got inside we saw the display of donuts. They looked amazing! I love their attention to detail to create a wonderful sight of each donut. My friend ordered one of each flavor and specific ones for her two friends. I ordered the Yuzu Curd and Jasmine Milk Tea donuts. We also ordered their special drinks; banana milk and orange vanilla latte. The Jasmine Milk Tea donut had a nice flavor. It didn't overwhelm me, but then I took a bite of the Yuzu Curd donut. I could taste the sweetness of the donut and the tangy tartness of the lemon curd! It tasted great! My friend ate her Kimchi Everything donut and loved it. She saved the other donuts for later. I saved the other halves of my donuts for my partner, but I wished I had gotten another Yuzu Curd donut for myself! If you like creative, beautiful donuts with interesting flavors, you must go to The Flour Box. They do an amazing job with the donuts, plus the presentation is top notch.

I love these donuts and every time I go back I'm always wow-ed by the different flavors. I love that they rotate the flavors every few weeks. I like the more savory donuts better but they're all so tasty and consistent. Service is friendly and quick. There's plenty of space to sit and enjoy the donuts and drinks after purchasing, they have some merchandise and other items for purchase by the front. Worth the wait in line every time, get there a half hour to an hour before opening to secure the goods.

Sour Cream and Onion Savory Donut

I've been here a couple of times and the experience has mostly been the same every time. It's a super cute place with plenty of seating, and they turn on the heat when it's cold out which is nice. The donuts are definitely really good, but in my opinion it's only worth a long wait if they have a savory donut. I really wish they would have more of those! Their sweet donuts are still good, I just don't think it's anything special to be waiting so long for. The place is pretty out of my way, so the drive and the wait really deter me from going more often. It's also really expensive for donuts. I know everything is housemade, so I know you're paying for good quality, but it averages $20+ for four donuts. I like that they change up the flavors every two weeks, so it still gives you time if you can't go one week. However, I really wish that they would ask for more customer input. They have such a huge fan base already I think it would just be a really nice touch if they did instagram polling or even just ask for customer ideas every once in a while to make it more interactive and exciting. My favorite flavors so far have been their Salmon Everything & their Sour Cream and Onion!

    Dajone Z.

I absolutely LOVE coming to Flour Box and trying their new biweekly flavors of brioche donuts. Although the line does get extremely long (and I do recommend coming at least 30 mins before opening to hop in line) they're worth the wait. It's also very cute inside the cafe area in and outside so I'd recommend stopping for a bit to enjoy your order.

The best donuts I have had yet! This place is a very popular one! I tend to steer clear of places with long lines because hype usually dies down but this is not the case for the flour box. They have a consistent line and wait every day that they are open but it is completely understandable why. Their rotating flavors make visiting this place fun and they usually space out repeating flavors. They also have great matching flavors for holiday occasions. My biggest piece of advise is to keep up with their line and their flavors on their social media. They will usually update their estimated wait time on their instagram story! I have visited this place close to 10 times and each time the wait has been longer than 25 minutes but I have never waited more than 1 hour. It is honestly a great weekend activity with company! Some of my favorite flavors include their caramel biscoff, cold brew, brownie, and so many more! The cream filling flavors are always spot on and just right. The donut itself also takes the cake when it comes to this style of donut! I recommend getting there early so flavors that you want don't run out and finding street parking in the nearby neighborhood. Do bring patience and good company and your morning will be set!

Food and drink: both the Evergreen State and the Gingerbread cream were delicious. Also, my boyfriend won't stop raving about the coffee, and I thought the hot chocolate was perfect. Everything was just sweet enough. Service: fast and friendly Ambiance: clean and cozy We arrived at 9:40am and the line was already nearing the corner. It was worth the wait. It's rare to get a five star review from me. The Flour Box earned it.

Ask the Community - The Flour Box

    What's the parking situation like?

Very small parking lot. Fills up very fast. One handicap spot. Most likely you'll have to park on the street but typically plenty of parking easily within a block or two.

Does this place still have the very long lines or has it died down as of 10/20/24?

Apparently every day can be different. The best way to find out is to follow their IG. They just had a short hiatus, and the line seems to be longer than before since they reopened this Saturday.

Do they have cinnamon rolls every day?

No, but they have different treats daily.

What's the reason behind their current "wait in line until we sell out" model? I have been wanting to try them for a long time but I live a 30 min drive away and think it's a little wonky to drive there with no guarantee of getting an order filled.

They're very transparent about doughnuts possibly selling out while you're in line before it gets to your turn. Taking that risk is entirely up to you. There's never a 100% guarantee you'll go home with doughnuts, but I used to I lived 20 minutes… Read more

    Are they open on Easter?

    Yes they are

Is this place open on Thanksgiving Day?

    They are not

What time does the line start forming?

I arrived on a beautiful sunny day in the summer around 9:15am and the line was halfway down the block. We got our donuts a little bit after 10:30am (they opened a bit early that day as well).

Is there a limit to the number of donuts we can buy per person? I'm seeing photos of the chalkboard showing that there is a 3 donut per person limit and another showing that you can buy a dozen donuts at a time.

They currently do not have any limits! They used to have limits a while back but those aren't in effect at this time.

Are they open at 10AM or 11AM? Yelp says 11 but their website says 10. 🤷🏻‍♀️

    10am!

Why are the hours so limited 3 hours 4 days a week?

Because that's all they can handle at this time. Having a business is not easy 🤦🏻‍♀️

When will it open in hillman city?

Hoping for a May 2020 opening! :) Likely late May. Stay updated on Instagram at @theflourboxseattle!

We decided to drop by after eating lunch in the area for a sweet treat afterwards, then ended up picking up a whole dozen... Some notes for a couple that I tried: Maple Bar ($4.99) - Hmm.. Not that fluffy or light. Instead or being airy, it's more dense and has a kind of springy chew. The glaze is sweet and gives off a heavy maple fragrance, an indication they use real maple syrup in the glaze. Maple bars from other places are usually disgustingly sweet with basically no maple flavor - this one is sweet but more well balanced. I think the texture is definitely different from a typical yeast donut. I wonder if it's just because it more difficult to make vegan yeast donuts vs cake donuts? It's a different type of yeast donut, but still very good. (4/5) Chocolate Peanut Butter ($4.45) - Good peanut butter flavor in both the topping and glaze. I think the donut base is also peanut butter but it could be contamination from the glaze. The base isn't very sweet and is kind of almost savory in flavor. The donut is dense but not crumbly and instead very moist. Not really crusty, so not too much textural difference. I think it's baked rather than fried. Still very sweet. (4/5) Devils Playground ($4.45) - The donut base is dense with rich chocolate flavor, and coated with a chocolate ganache of just the right thickness. I hate it when donuts just have a smear of topping to make the donut look attractive, but does barely anything flavor wise. This one, on the other hand, is richly flavored. (4/5) Chocolate Raspberry ($3.65) - This is my favorite, same chocolate cake donut base as above but with bright berry notes and specks of seeds. The tangy berries do wonders to temper down some of the sweetness. (5/5) French Toast ($3.65) - My least favorite by far. Covered with peanuts (which is fine), but the cake donut base or perhaps the glaze tastes heavily earthy, like an overload of cinnamon and nutmeg. (2/5) People who expect the exact same texture as a non-vegan donut, both the cake and yeast types, will probably be disappointed. If I just think of these donuts as their own thing, they're actually quite good. There's another donut shop that I prefer down the street, but Mighty-O Donuts certainly isn't a bad choice for a sweet treat.

With the variety of cupcakes in Seattle, and so much to choose from... even though your cupcakes were more, I was willing to pay. Fact is, $5.50+ tip(!) for cupcake is quite a bit. Still I thought they were worth it. I loved how if I was downtown late for an evening out, I would make it so I would go to Cupcake Royale within 10-25 minutes prior to closing. Not eating dessert at a fancy restaurant, but my favorite cupcakes- and they made it by 3 get 3 free at closing! OoI could share my delicious bounty with family and friends. In turn, they had done the same when they were downtown. No more. Last few times it was " maybe 5 minutes before we close", or recently " I have not heard of that. But I have only worked here three days." Please, for the sake of other patrons, get your sh*t together. Your " staff" appears ambivalent, tired, and although on their phones, not wanting to be there. Staff may have been your saving grace, but no. Not no, hell no. Get it together Cupcake Royale- do you, or don't you cater to the people who have kept you afloat? I purchased cupcakes a couple of times anyway, just to support your business as I always have, and to pass into others, hoping to keep you in business. Tough times for so many. At 6:50 pm, I bought full priced crunchy , sitting there all day cup cakes, full price. Had I known they would be bird food, I would not have. Yes. I tossed them to the birds. Expensive treat. You have taken my money, and given me an inferior product once again. Should have known from before. My bad. I don't know why I expected it to be any different from last experience. I guess it was my utmost faith in you, and your product. The thing was, at almost closing there were over 20 cupcakes. No more. You lost me. You lost my business. Sad. Trophy, here I come!
