I dropped my car off on a Monday morning and didn't have it back until Friday afternoon of that week. I needed to have a rear parking aid speaker replaced that had a part cost of $35. The labor including the diagnostic cost over $800! Though their website touts having shuttle service when I asked about that upon dropping my car off they told me they no longer had it. That is not acceptable for a dealership! If there are major repairs to my vehicle I need to look into other options, and would not recommend this dealership. read more

I lost my key ring. My remote and ignition keys were on it. Ford Store reported they are open Mon-Sat. I purchased 2 ignition keys and a remote. Need to program all of them in service department. However, Brit said they did not have enough techs to do it on Saturday and to come back early Monday morning and they open at 7 am. Yelp says 9 am. Also, my driver side mirror had popped out on my way to Ford Store as I got bumped by another car en route. And again, no one to reinsert it. A refreshing update. I had my truck in for two service items this month, and my service both times was not only fantastic compared to my last experience - it surpassed my expectations. My service coordinator, Randall, was professional, helpful and accommodating of some special requests to make is easier for me to get the truck back in the evening. Keeping one star back due to their practice of assessing "market adjustment" fees on popular cars. If you shop around and are willing to venture farther away, and do your research - you'll find hot cars without that market adjustment gouging by the dealer. I've done it. Cheers!! read more

I needed a vehicle and I needed it before the weekend was over. I had just left my job the day before and was worried about financing and things like that. I have excellent credit and I also had a down payment. I spent Friday night into Saturday morning scouring the internet for available vehicles. This is what I needed, obviously in my price range, used and can fit 4 kids and two adults with room for stuff. They had a deal on a used Ford Expedition. I emailed them from their site and received a call Saturday morning. I confirmed the size and the milage and told them I would be down there on Sunday to look at it and probably buy it. They called me twice to confirm. The photos on their site were excellent. Who ever they have taking the photos does a great job capturing the vehicle. You get what you see, there is no smoke and mirrors. Here is where they have 5 stars from me. They gave me great financing options even in my current employment state. It was also the fastest finance process Ive been through at a dealership. I was incredibly impressed. They must be listening to the customer because the guys were great. Im a master car buyer and they really knew how to work with me. There was no BS from them. There were few mechanical issues with one of the windows and they took care of that for me for free along with the air conditioning that needed to be charged. They still call me every few months. Its the same sales guy and we talk and are friendly. Rest assured that when Im looking to get another vehicle Im coming here. One of the few sales calls I like getting. They were great. read more

Beware - Service center is easily triggered and confrontational. The ford service department has limited technical knowledge, doesn't advocate for customer, and can't trust services/recalls have been completed. I've taken my car in for recall #16S30 twice (June, 2016 and October, 2017) and it's still showing not complete on vehicle health report and receiving urgent notices from Ford to complete. I purchased a ford from another location in 2015. Since then, I've had my car serviced 4 times, 3 by san leandro service center. First experience was in October, 2015. I worked with Jose. He charged me $170 to do the works, and review a broken lever on the back seat. To repair, it would be about $300 to replace the whole seat and another $200 for labor. I passed on the repairs - seemed egregious for a broken cable. Second Experience - June, 2016. I worked with Jose again. This time needed a plastic piece from the bumper removed and Recall #16S30. He told me the whole bumper would need to be replaced, again - $300+labor. I passed. So now I have a car with a hanging plastic piece on the bumper and broken latch and unable to use cargo. In Feb, 2017 had my tires replaced and car serviced elsewhere. I also set up Ford Sync, and recall still showing as not completed. Third Experience - October, 2017. Jose no longer at Ford, worked with Bianca. This time I did my research on parts for the bumper and showed her how the plastic piece could be removed without replacing the entire bumper. Needed recall completed. And paperwork from previous service was in the glove box. They soon call me to report there were problems. Instead of stopping to call me or review paperwork, they pushed forward and broke the housing for the oil cap. Instead of accepting their mistake, they blamed the previous mechanic. Told me to mediate payment with them - without any advocacy or assistance to explain the technical aspect. Not only was I without a car for 4 days for the part to arrive - they didn't tell me I was being charged with the cost until I picked up the car. I contested and asked to talk to a manager. When I challenged him for not accepting responsibility he changed the story from "we broke it" to "it was already broken." I called him out on it and he got upset and threatened to charge me labor. It was a horrific confrontation and I felt attacked. He kept pounding the counter at the cashiers desk yelling at them to cash me out. He had the nerve to tell me he was being respectful to me and I was being condescending because I was advocating for myself. The part was $100. It was worth more to them than their relationship with me. I got home and called to speak to a higher manager, Ivan. Ivan was great and listened. But he also pressed it was the previous mechanics fault. I researched the part and remedied the situation on my own. The previous mechanic reimbursed me and I think it was more out of empathy for my experience with ford. I also saw the recall hadn't been done on my vehicle health report - and Ivan relayed it would take a few weeks for paperwork to go through. The recall is still showing as incomplete on my car and I continue to get notices to take it in for repair. I can't trust that its been done and I will take my ford to another service center in the future. Even though this dealership is closer to my house, I cant trust them and I won't be back. read more

Horrible service in overall. First of all I would never buy a Ford car again! My car broke down just one year after purchasing it and the warranty denied the claim bc the foolish mechanics couldn't even find what's wrong with the car so they said it was an oil smudge. Even though we have receipts and prove we did every single oil change on time and took very good care of the car. I found the mechanics sitting down just talking while I was paying $2500 just for a simple diagnosis . It took them way less time of course.They overcharged me The guy in the office never responded back and was rude. Don't take your car here, I overheard the mechanics talking about how they couldn't find the problem for another car so they needed to charge another 10hrs of work.There's mechanics that are new and don't even know what they are doing. Horrible! My car was losing about two quarts of water about every 15 mi which to me Matt broken hose but I couldn't bend down to look at it. I took it in and they claimed that I had a leaky radiator that needed replacing. However in the 4 hours it took them to look at the car and do a pressure test their service rep tried to sell me a new radiator {period} apparently the service guy was working on it reconnected the hose I took it home and the car has been fine ever since {period} so they wanted to charge me $500 for a new radiator I didn't need {period} this just goes to prove that car dealerships are off to rip you off {period} read more

First off, let me say that my past experience with car dealers has been horrific; they have left me sitting at the dealership for hours and hours on end, as if I have no life or nothing better to do. This experience was completely different! I perused the autos online and sent an inquiry; I immediately received an internet sales quote on an Escape from Faisal Aziz, and a follow-up email to make sure it was received and not sorted to my SPAM folder. They were not pushy, which I completely appreciate. Give me time to mull it over and let me get back to you, don't breathe down my neck! I continued to ask questions via email, and Karen Ruvalcaba stepped in. She was very helpful in answering all of my questions - can we do as much prequalifying as possible before I come in there (given my past experience, this was very important to me.) When she had answered all of my initial questions, we made an appointment for me to come in for a test drive. I visited the dealership Monday evening, arriving about 6:30 PM. I was greeted by Ignacio Toscano, who led me to Karen. She introduced Ignacio and asked him to show me some vehicle options. He was most helpful and friendly. Even though I looked at a couple of Escapes, they didn't have very many bells and whistles. He took the time to find out what it was I wanted and needed in a vehicle, and then showed me a Ford Edge, which is an upgrade from the Escape. It was a Special Edition Limited with many, many amenities. I test drove the Edge and it was great! I have a friend who has one so I was already familiar with the vehicle. Once I decided that was the vehicle I wanted, we went inside and although he was technically "off the clock" and supposed to leave at 5:00 PM, Ignacio waited with me and we chit-chatted about many different things while we waited for finance. There were several other folks there looking to buy, so I knew I'd have to wait my turn. The Finance Team was great - they worked quickly and within my budget to get me what I wanted. They were friendly, respectful, and professional. When I met with Tom to complete paperwork, he explained everything I was signing and even noted once I added the extended warranty (5 yrs/100,000 mi), it dropped my monthly car payment by $42! I was there for a total of 90 minutes...when I came out to the washed, full tank vehicle, Ignacio was already there and took the time to show me some preliminary steps to programming and using the navigation, satellite radio, voice commands, SYNC features, and reviewed other buttons and instruments. Overall, it was a - dare I say - "pleasant" experience! In fact, I have already referred one of my coworkers who is looking for a new car to the folks at San Leandro Ford. Based on less-than-stellar reviews of the service department, I am hopeful that whomever was the problem employee has since been let go; I plan to at least try them out initially as I would prefer to have a Ford dealer service my Ford vehicle and would like to stay in my home town if at all possible. I may write another review after that initial visit so stay tuned! For now, I highly recommend San Leandro Ford/Lincoln to anyone looking for a new or used vehicle. I found them to be quick, professional, respectful, and most helpful. Be upfront - tell them what you want and they won't waste time showing you cars that you're really not interested in. Negligence and Ethical Complaint to the Owner to the Ford Store SL. i am copying this headline from another review, as it sums it up exactly [unfortunately]. i brought my car in for a standard 6 months tune up this week. oil + filter change, tire rotation etc. as i was leaving ford and getting on the freeway ramp to go home, something felt very, very wrong. i pulled over immediately [on the busy ramp no less] to check it out. there was no flat tire, nothing strange, so i continued on my way. still something was very, very wrong. car wobbly, rattling, and strange noises. very scary, and it felt dangerous. i had to drive 5MPH to get off the freeway to next exit and again pull over. again, saw nothing unusual. drove 5MPH all the way back to ford, 1111 marina blvd. san leandro. i told them something was wrong, and without even asking me a single question about it, he opens the hood to check there. i explained, that the car actually needed to be driven so he could see what the issue was. he pulls the car forward and then i see the right, front wheel wobbling like crazy. another service rep sees this too and pokes his head into the car, so i can't hear him and tells billy what the issue is. clearly he did not want me to hear this. i find this odd, so i go find the service manager, ray mattley, who has always been very helpful and listens to the customer. he tells me he needs to immediately go see for himself, or the guys will try to hide that kind of stuff from him. [WHAT???] YEP. turns out the lug nut was not tightened. how many? this is extremely dangerous, and why it felt like the car was so f'd up. this will be my first and last ford car. i like the car, i fit in it [i'm 6 ft. tall] and that is hard to find. the service however, is however,THE WORST EVER and for that reason ONLY i will never have another one. i see in the reviews how bad service is universally. billy clearly did not like me asking him any questions whatsoever, was curt with me, and gave the impression i was bothering him. i like to know details. i like to know exactly what is being done to my car. gee, maybe i'll learn something! the last rep who serviced my car the previous years was always giving me attitude. he notably, is no longer working there. aside from that, all they did was say sorry. so sorry. [altho' ray did say the tech who did the work was pulled off the line and would be questioned.] i still was charged for their very dangerous negligence. i am very lucky nothing happened to me or the car. but thinking about it, if there was actually any damage, maybe they would just cover that up too? read more

We've been coming here for ten years now. We've purchased two cars here and depend on them for excellent service to keep our car in great operating condition. The people who work at this dealership are knowledgeable and helpful. I'd also add that they are very kind and caring about helping people. If I had to say anything that could be improved, it would be fixing the process of making an appointment. It's hard to call in for an appointment. Trying to make an appointment online is also time consuming. I have started making my appointments at the time I'm there for my current service. My company issued car is a Ford Focus - the check engine light came on - since I do not own the car, I called the owner and asked him how he would like me to proceed. The owner of the car has purchased 5 Ford's from Advantage Ford in Duarte, CA in the past 5 years and routinely has his cars serviced at the dealership at a fair price because of his established relationships there. I think naturally, he assumed that we might get the same courtesy at the Ford Store in San Leandro - WRONG!! After having the car for one day, I sent a text to my assigned service advisor, Billy, for an update on the Focus. He advised me that the check engine light was diagnosed as a misfire. I am very mechanically inclined - so naturally I thought the repair would be cheap and easy, spark plugs and coil packs - I was WRONG again! Billy advised me that I needed to replace my spark plugs and that further testing would reveal if I needed to also replace my coil packs. I asked Billy how much it would be to replace and install the new spark plugs and this is what he quoted me: $23.92 per spark plug x 4 = $95.68 $285 for installation $240 for diagnosis Grand total of $620.68. I told them to hold off on all the repairs and that I would pick up my car first thing in the morning and paid the $240 ransom note. After picking up my car and on my way home, I pulled into the local mechanic shop down the street from my house. He used a scan tool to read the engine code for free! I stopped by the auto parts store and picked up four spark plugs at Orielly's for $12. It took me 15 minutes to install them. I had the mechanic read the code again and the check engine light went off - no more misfire and the car is running smooth! The only reason I took the car into the Ford Store is because I was honoring the request of the owner of the car. Recap and Lessons to be learned: *Find a mechanic who will scan your code for free! Hi Wahid, my name is Ben and I had brought my 2014 Focus ST in on Feb 26th for the fuel tank recall, my service advisor was Paul. When my vehicle was finished I was advised that there was a system software up available however they could not update at this time due to their device being down at the time to do so with, Paul explained to me that I would receive a phone call within 2 days to schedule an appointment. Needless to say 1 week had passed with no call, On Monday March 4th I placed a call and left a message with the service center for Paul to call me back. Another week passes, Monday March 11th I had placed another call to the service center and left a message for Paul to return my call. So here we are now on the 13th, I placed a call and left a message early this morning with the service manager, and so far nothing yet. I feel that this is extremely poor customer service and has now negatively affected my decision to purchase a 2019 5.0 from your store. I will now take my business to All Star Ford in Pittsburg. I will also be writing a very negative review on yelp about my experience at your store. And needless to say the manager hasn't even answered my email nor did I receive a call back from the service manager.... Once again. 5 stars for San Leandro Ford. I had an engine problem in my truck and Kevin in service got me right in. They fixed it right the first time with great communication all the way through. The truck was in service for about a week although they diagnosed it on the first day. Ford Motor Company expedited all of the parts because I use this truck for work. 2 days later, a car that we had ordered finally arrived. Fresh off the assembly line. Danny Gol in sales is the absolute best. He is the antithesis of the stereotypical salesman. Honest, smart, accessible and soft spoken. The pricing and interest rate were so good right off the bat that I didn't need to haggle. Ron in the finance department has the same professional qualities as Danny. You really notice a difference when you shop at a family owned car dealership like this. Do yourself a favor and ask for Danny in sales or Kevin in service. No need to thank me. read more

Had my airbags fixed under warranty on my old 2007 Mustang. Made appointment and there was no mixup they were expecting me and were on it. I hope I never need to find out whether that works but it was free, no weird games or up-selling. Just fast, professional service, and a free lift back to my house. Why not 5 stars? Decided to fix my key fob and they quoted me at $120 and said they would call if it was more. I paid $140 because of tax... minor but given an old POS key fob costs that much and they can't just quote the price accurately is annoying. Also, while the shuttle ride was free, it was me and one other guy in a Ford C-Max or something and the driver was absolutely, positively insane, and took back roads all the way, never dodged a pothole and drove like he didn't care at all about he condition of the car or passengers. And I'm a fast driver myself, so I know the difference between fast and careless & marginally unsafe. So do yourself a favor and get uber or a friend to take you back home LOL! read more

Oil leaking all over the place and these guys at the service department were extremely helpful. The manager was firm in his policy, an understandable position, until the series of events was mapped out for him and the confusion/heartbreak of parting with $260 was written all over my face. We (the service department and I) assumed it was a larger problem that would've been covered under warranty... Turns out the last folks to service The car did a rotten job. Why five stars? Because rightly I owe them for their labor and diagnostic skills... some bozos messed up an oil change and they corrected the problem, free of charge, to secure our future business. Guess what? It worked. I thank them for recognizing the difficult situation in the end, eating the cost on their end. That's what it takes to get a lifelong customer from me and my family. I brought my 2012 Ford Explorer XLT into the Ford Service Department at San Leandro Ford on Friday October 30th 2020 around 3:30pm. I was helped by service advisor Matthew. My car needed the positive battery connection replaced and I had already called for an estimate on the price of the part and the price of the labor. When Matthew was intaking my vehicle he told me that my car had a recall on the toe link and that he could replace it for free and that I would get a free wheel alignment along with it. I agreed to the work stated above. I left my car and was called to pick it up on Saturday October 31st. When I got to the Ford Service Department a little after 1:00pm I was greeted by Paul Galvao the service manager who went to get my keys and my car to pull it up. When he pulled it up he said that he was going to have a service technician take a look at something but when he pulled the car back to the service department he took a look around himself, pulled the car back up to me and released it to me stating everything was fine. I drove out of the lot, took a U-turn in the intersection and heard a crashing noise. I believed the noise to be a ball or items in my car moving around and kept driving. One block away, as I approached the intersection at Marina/Wayne Ave. my rear driver side tire came flying off. I felt a big jolt/pull to my left side. At this point my car frame was screeching on the concrete until I came to a complete stop. I got out of my vehicle, saw my tire rolling in the middle of the intersection and could not believe my eyes. I suffer from anxiety and panic attacks and this incident struck my nerves bad. There was no trace of any lug nuts on this tire, on the stud or on the floor. A kind pedestrian brought me my tire before it could be hit or cause any other accidents and a short time later a police officer came to the scene. The police officer told me he was called to the scene by an emergency call that stated they seen my tire "fly off" in the intersection. I contacted Ford Service at this point and Paul sent over a technician to put my tire back on in the intersection so I could drive the car back to the store. The technician had to take a lug nut off of each of my other tires to put this tire back on. I drove back to the service department where Paul took my car back in for service and assured me the damages would be fixed free of charge because they were totally liable for what happened. He provided me with a loaner vehicle and told me he would tell the service director and store manager about what had happened and see what they would say to "make this right" for me. About a couple hours after the adrenaline, panic and anxiety from the accident subsided I could tell my back was hurt. I contacted an advise nurse who made an appointment for me that day at 5:30pm to see a doctor in Urgent Care. I was treated for back/muscle strain. Paul contacted me later that day to tell me what was damaged and needed to be replaced and told me the work would most likely be done Monday but Tuesday at the latest. I was contacted again by Paul on Monday November 2nd telling me that the work was complete but that he wanted to give me a full detail and also have his guys drive my car around and make sure everything felt right. He also asked me if I missed any work at this point and I let him know that I missed half a day on Saturday the 31st as well as a whole day Monday the 2nd due to the back injury I suffered from caused by the accident. Paul left me a message on Tuesday morning around 7:50am telling me my car was ready to be picked up. He called me again around 12pm to let me know my car was ready. I came into the service department where I had a conversation with Paul about what they replaced on my car which was a piece of trim and that's about all. At this time he made no mention about any conversations had with his managers about compensating me for, at the very least, my lost wages as well as medical expenses. He said he didn't know I was injured, even though I told him on the phone previously, and that he would have to talk to his manager again. At this point I went to the front desk to ask for the store manager but was greeted by the service director Rich Deeds. Rich apologized for the incident and told me that he would be contacting their insurance to open a claim for this incident. I was never contacted by their insurance. They barely did any repair to my truck and was never compensated for my wages or injury. They did little to nothing to make this right and I highly recommend you stay away from here!!! read more

We were about ready to get the contract going and the payments did not make any sense to me and here is why: they did increase the price by $2,000.00 this is want I get as a repeat customer!!! right ? I asked you (Mark) before coming in if the car will be sold to me at the msrp price and you told me 'yes' and now what is going on ? well someone from San Jose is going to pay the $2,000.00 above the msrp so that's why we increased the price and course some additional horse shit. So this is very clear how much they care about repeat business to keep you as a happy customer, all they care about is how to get the most money out of you. I brought my husbands car in over the weekend. I was greeted by a new face which seems to be happening there lately. Christina walked up and introduced herself with a smile(which is new). I have been coming here for a couple years bringing both mine and my husband's cars. Poor thing had lost her voice but it didn't stop her customer service and from keeping a smile on her face. She was great, I was pleasantly surprised by her customer service. The last couple times we've come it's been a little rough. When I arrived to pick up the vehicle was in the drive and she had my keys ready to go. I mentioned it wasn't washed, with no hesitation she took it and ran it through the wash. UPDATED REVIEW: All my car needed was a starter. I took my car to Clean Air in Castro Valley and got an honest opinion and quick turn around within 48hrs. Please go there instead of Ford. They clearly do not respect their customers. Previous review: I got my car towed in monday to get it serviced. Mat Rout was the person I got in contact with. I informed him it wouldnt start. He told me by noon of tuesday they'll have an answer. I called him at 12:30 since he didn't call and he said they'll need to charge me some more money since it's taking longer to find the problem, but by 4:30 they'll have an answer. I initially was at $230., now by Tuesday I'm at $460. I had a feeling I was being lied to, so I drove by in another car to see if my car was being attended to. Nope. Car was sitting by itself. So, I went there by 4:30. Mat said the mechanic is very busy, sorry for the delay, but by Wednesday before noon, they'll have an answer. Again, I felt like I was being like to, so Wednesday around 11"45 I drove up to see my car still in the same place. I went to his office to get an answer. He saw me and deliberately avoided me until there was no other option but to confront me. I asked why is my car still in the same place since yesterday? His response was they're busy. I got my car towed and sent to another place a mechanic that I trust. Why did I go to Ford? I live pretty close and figured since I drive a Ford, and that I had a fairly decent experience before, that it shouldn't be a problem. I was wrong. I'm in business myself and understand how things get. However, that does not exclude the fact Mat lied for no reason. It was an issue of time sensitivity that he purposely neglected. I went there 2 different days and saw several cars that were not being service the day prior, which means they could of attended to my car, but did not. Maybe there's someone else there who wouldn't waste your time, but for me, I will never go there again, and for whoever will read this, I recommend you not talk to Mat. read more

Best experience ever buying a car from these professionals. I recommend this store at the highest level. Everyone was outstanding from start to finish! Sam the Sales Professional was Great Ravi the Finance Professional was Great Everyone was great. Great atmosphere, great location, great amenities. I am happy that I will be getting my new car serviced there at the maintenance intervals, so I will get to continue a great friendly business relationship with each of them. Diane duke. Very rude finance manager. I have called the dealer several times looking for help on my vehicle. Never once got a call back after 3 messages! Finally get ahold of someone and she's very rude. Instead of arguing with customer put yourself in the shoes of a single mother working full time that is stuck with a vehicle that will prevent her from making money and taking her daughter to school that is now in a horrible because of false information given and no solutions given to help the situation. read more

Worst service I've experienced from a dealer: We left messages on at least five occasions with humans or on their VM requiring s service appt. not one call back. We finally went in person to make appointment. Was for 90k service. Tech Omar said we may need to leave overnight, he'd call to let us know. Crickets. Call next day to find out what's up. Cashier says Omar at lunch (11:30) but car has been ready for pickup for some time. Never again will we use them. read more

Okay... I felt like I needed to do a review & when it didn't pop up on my Google Yelp is the next best. My Ford is old, but I felt like it was disrespected. I feel like they needed to make money so everything they suggested was at least $450. When I opted to just do the basics they "looked" at the driver window & said it needed to be glued. They couldn't fix it.... $200. They "looked" at my locking system (alarm goes off when you lock the car) They disabled the trunk & I guess I misunderstood & though it was fixed. $200 & they didn't fix anything! So $400 for looking & not fixing anything plus the $90 for the tune up service. It's a 1998 Ford Mustang for crying out loud!!!! I was taken, but never again. I'd suggest you find another repair shop who CAN do repairs & not just look & change you an arm and a leg for things they KNOW they can't fix. read more

I GIVE UP.. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.. I am SWITCHING TO FORD SUNNYVALE... The service at this company is pathetic. In fact it starts by trying to call their service department to get "any tech or any manager" to talk with you. Worse, the lady on the phone will promise that someone will call you back. They do not. Even after I complained to he General Manager, who admitted they were understaffed (for over two years) but since I have seen no improvement. In fact it has gotten worse.. Much worse. Do not bring your car here. I was able to take my car to an independent auto body shop and they fixed it for half the price. HALF. I have had consistently poor experiences here and not only will not be coming back, but opting for a different brand car altogether just so I'll never have to return to a ford dealership. read more
