I'm going to try and keep this as respectful and honest as I possibly can. Since we walked in the door, the waitresses were on their phones, and one of them eating behind the bar... I understand phone usage at work, and I don't think it's a huge issue, but these waitresses could've cared less about their customers. They were openly on their phone, leaning over the counter with it in their hands, rather than using their phone discreetly and infrequently. I was craving mac & cheese, and I read online that Fork N Cork had one of the best mac & cheese dishes in Wilmington. The mac & cheese was fairly decent--but not worth the trip. The Ruben was very dry and weirdly stringy, and I definitely would not order that again. We also ordered a Caesar salad with chicken and the lettuce was on the way out near expiry and not really washed... The last time I went to Fork n' Cork was about eight years ago and now I kind of remember why I have avoided the place. Sorry restaurant owners. Fork and Cork is a tiny spot with all the big flavors. Whether you are looking for a drink or a hearty bite, they have you covered. The selection of bourbon alone is enough for a visit! But if you need more convincing, check out the pics! I tried a bit of everything; scotch egg, poutine, rattlesnake bites, and beef wellington bites. The poutine was literally the best I've ever had, very savory gravy and a generous pile of cheese curds melted on top. The rattlesnake bites were also satisfying and unique. The sauce that accompanied them was a highlight. You get 1 scotch egg per order, but it's a good size and is cut in half. The wellington bites are such a cool way to enjoy something that is normally only for special occasions. Go early or you may need to wait to be seated as this is an intimate location. It's totally worth it though! The bartender and all of the staff are awesome and I will definitely not wait too long to visit again. read more

The Fork n Cork is right in downtown Wilmington near the riverwalk. The restaurant is only available for dine-in and takeout, but the restaurant itself isn't that large and it gets packed really quickly. Every time I've been here I've had to wait for a table. Guy Fieri featured the Fork n Cork on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and that's a huge part of its appeal and why it's really popular. When Guy came, he raved about the duck wings. I've tried the Duck Wings ($14) and the best sauces are the honey orange marmalade and hot honey garlic. I didn't find them mind-blowing though. One order only comes with six duck wings, it's not cheap, and I barely got any meat on mine. I'd still try them just to say you've had them, but I think the burgers are why I'd come here. Disappointed. Drove 30 minutes to try this place. We are from out of town and this restaurant was on our list of musts. We arrived at 8:50pm, closing time is 10pm. I was excited to try this place based on reviews. I ordered the Lamb Burger and asked for medium rare. The burger came well done, under-seasoned, and lacked structural integrity. The burger fell apart while I was eating it! I usually finish my burgers and this was the first time that I didn't finish a burger. It tasted bland and overdone! Needless to say, I was quite disappointed. Rate 2/5 The onion rings had a nice kick to it and I liked that it was crunchy. Slightly too much batter for my taste. Rate 3.5/5 The pontine was cheesy and delicious. Well seasoned and would recommend trying. Rate 4/5. Portions were huge. Service was good. Place was small and had limited seating. It was 3 pm...our eating schedule was all messed up so we were also grateful to find great food at that hour. Although FnC is known for giant sandwiches and burgers and just generally awesome well-crafted casual fare, we needed something healthy and raw. We ordered a burger made with a vegan patty, a side of amazing Brussels sprouts cooked in duck fat ands giant garden salad. Everything was fresh and the recipes were fantastic with all sauces and dressings made in-house. General servings of everything. My husband had a beer, and we noticed a good selection of beer and a full bar. Didn't ask about wines. If I'm in Wilmington again, this is definitely in my go-to list. read more

This is a very comfortable little (yeah, it's small so think about that in your planning) bar that feels like a tavern. All the folks were very friendly, so no chain-level service here. On to the food: I had a mushroom Swiss burger which was very well dressed, cooked correctly, with a weird local touch where the mayo was on the BOTTOM of the bun. Or was that just a mistake? Anyway, impossible to pick up that mess with your hands, which really doesn't detract from the taste of the burger. I didn't think the beef itself was five stars so hence the ranking. Onion rings were five stars, however. My wife had the beet salad which honestly could have fed three people. I'd suggest to Fork/Cork that they offer a 1/2 portion. Raining off and On, on the 4th of July, exploring our new City and we came across this place. Looked cool, so we put our name on the list, and not sure how it works but in the 40 mins we were on it people got sat ahead of us that just arrived? (Call Ahead List, Maybe?) Not a big deal we had a covered area to sit under, and waited patiently till they called us and we asked for the bar, which we prefer, I would think most YELPERS do, I can watch my server/Bartender and stare at them when it has been too long...lol When you sit at the bar for us 99% of the time it is great service. Amy was the bartender and started off friendly and personable, but as it got busier less friendly and less interaction, it can be tough for some to multitask, more of a heads up than a criticism. The wife had Fish as she always does, I had the chicken sandwich a Margarita, and the wife had a a Mojito, both of which were very very good. Amy can sling some liquor. Decided to give this restaurant another try . Arrived early on a Sunday , it's a very small place and it was packed. We waited a few minutes for them to clear a table and sat down with menus . Then menu has plenty to choose from and a few specials. I decided on a patty melt ; 8 oz burger patty , swiss, caramelized onions &mayo on toasted rye , ( hold on the mayo) cooked well done. With a side of sweet potato fries. And crispy chicken n biscuits ; two sliders with crispy chicken on buttermilk biscuits topped with cayenne maple-honey butter served with home fries. We waited for a while , since the place was quite busy , people even sitting outside on the walk way . Our lunches arrive warm and looking great . The sweet potato fries were well cooked , nicely seasoned with cinnamon sugar on top, didn't need ketchup. The burger was well cooked, had great flavor and not dry . The burger to bread ratio was a little off - a little too much bread , but it was good. The chicken was crispy , they fry was nice - not overbearing and had great flavor. The biscuits were fluffy and flavorful. The cayenne maple honey butter was a nice touch - a little spice but not too much . The home fries were good , large pieces of onion mixed among the potatoes. First time to Wilmington and we decided to eat at the Fork & Cork. The restaurant has a nice bar and seven to eight inside tables. In addition, they had two outside tables. The placed was full to capacity on a Wednesday evening. We had to wait a 25 minutes for a table to open up. We sat outside and ordered a goat cheese beet salad for an app. The salad was delicious. I had the Hot Mess Chicken sandwich for dinner. The sandwich was delicious. The roll was perfect. The best part of the dining experience were their Old Fashion's. Such a great place to stop and eat! We drive to North Carolina for a day trip and thought, "Why not check another Triple D off the list!?!" I tried the Kyle's Way burger, my husband had the Hot Mess, and my teenage daughter had the Texas poutine...and let me tell you, it was all delicious! The burgers are thick and JUICY! Cooked to our liking (MR) and sooo full of flavor! They are a little messy, so be prepared! My daughter started eating her fries when we did, and after we finished our burgers, it didn't even look like she'd been eating! There were big chunks of brisket and plenty of cheese and BBQ sauce so that each bite you take has all of the goodness of poutine! :0) I also really love thin, hand cut fries! Wow! What an amazing place! My husband, daughter, and I were in town from NY to visit UNCW and had been wandering around downtown Wilmington before dinner. We spoke to several locals who all raved about Fork and Cork, and figured we'd give it a try. We're so glad we did! Every table was full except one, which a server cheerfully led us to. My husband and I savored every delicious bite of our "Big Lew" and "Shwiss" burgers, and our daughter loved the "Music City Hot Chicken" sandwich, too. We were all obsessed with the fries! This has been one of our favorite spots in town since the day it opened. Our food was still out of this world. (Biscuits and gravy and the special apple bacon Brie burger. We arrived at an odd time and were seated immediately at the bar. My only complaint is that no one seemed to be given cutlery. I saw several people go grab it themselves. Was recommended to me by several others. Right in the historic district of downtown Wilmington. The inside is super small, maybe 6 or 7 hightop tables and then bar seatings, which made sense we had a 15-20 minute wait for a spot. Ended up at the bar with an attentive server who lets us taste some of the local drafts. My mom and I ended up going with the Salmon Sandwich which had HUGE piece of salmon on it. Very delicious with the other sandwich toppings and very filling. Only ate half along with my fries and took the rest home as leftovers. Fries were toasty and just right. Food came out fast. Bathrooms were kept clean. No parking lot, but plenty of local lots of street parking right nearby. Some outdoor seating, but it was cold so no one was being seated outside it seemed. read more

Sad experience. came here for a casual date night. Ordered the Fonduta cheese app to start. It was okay, very heavy. Loaded with oil and honey. We then split the lamb burger. it came out slopped over a mushy bun you couldn't even pick up. Tiziki splattered on side. We told our server and he said he would tell the kitchen to re-make.
