An amazing restaurant in the center of Boston! The facility was vibrant and seemed very busy for a Friday morning. The main dinning room as full so I opted to sit in the outdoor dinning area. The service was exceptional for such a busy day. The hostess was warm and welcoming, and we were seated within 5 minutes of arrival. Our waitress was outgoing and well spoken. She was on point with her service and follow up. The outside dinning area was well kept and clean. For breakfast my date and I had the monster breakfast, Cinnamon Toast Crunch French-toast, and a game and cheddar cheese omelette. A wonderful classic American breakfast spot. We went on a Tuesday morning around 8am and were seated immediately--it was basically empty. There were quite a number of employees and we thought that was odd - right up until the restaurant really started filling up shortly after and it made much more sense. We were surprised how busy it was for a weekday morning. All of the staff were friendly and very helpful. We had Kendall (spelling?) and thought our service was exemplary! I had the monster breakfast and my beau had sam's garden omelet. Both dishes were empty plates in the end. YUM! I asked for scrambled eggs - most restaurants over cook eggs to when they are browned from being cooked on one side for too long...but not here! Perfectly fluffy eggs with the right level of moisture. I chose french toast - it was light and airy, not eggy or overly dense. Absolutely delicious and the little syrup bottles are so cute. Home fries are actually just little seasoned potato cubes - had no clue they weren't actually fries but I was glad for that (thinking fries would be weird for breakfast) We both had coffee - diner coffee is never out of this world but it did the trick. We had the eggs Benedict, the garden omelette with shaved steak, and the classic breakfast with 2 eggs, local organic sourdough bread, home fries that were perfectly cooked (not too greasy), and turkey sausage which had good flavor. A very rad brunch spot in Boston. Pretty busy on a Saturday morning, but you can join the waitlist on Yelp which is handy. We were able to walk over from our place to the restaurant by the time they were ready to seat us. Quirky decor and fun food combinations. Nice staff. This place gives off edgy, cool vibes while still maintain friendly staff and service. There is a lot going on in this vibrant place. The menu is fun. I went with the monte madam, a cross between a monte cristo and croque madam, it was flavorful and delicious. My boyfriend got the classic breakfast and said it was good. This place is efficient and we were in out in under 45 minutes which was great for us since we had a big day of sightseeing ahead of us. No idea what took me so long to try Friendly Toast. Very friendly service , we got two bar seats. I definitely recommend joining the waitlist on yelp on the weekend especially ! We showed up on a Friday morning and there was an hour wait. So we decided to show up early on Saturday instead and got a great table facing the street. A few minutes later and it was packed. Our server was outstanding considering the place was a madhouse and she was the only server I could see. The classic: fried eggs, bacon, toast, roasted potatoes. It was your typical egg breakfast. Sadly, they no longer serve grits. Everything Sando: huge sandwich with eggs, meats, veggies, etc. can def be shared, it is huge. And very very good. My banana pancakes where perfectly cooked the banana had a nice char on them you could eat the pancakes without the maple syrup that's how good they were! Eggs cooked ordered over med sausage was well done as ordered. Nate was very attentive but not overly he was truly a great server! My mom loved her Berries & Cream waffle cooked perfectly and the berries fresh and waffle very tasty her sausage was cook as she ordered it well done.
