This is our favorite restaurant for pizza and a good selection of craft beers. The Irish Idahoan pizza is our favorite, by far. We are vegetarians so we substitute red onion and bell pepper for steak and bacon. The crust is perfect as is the combination of veggies and cheese on top. We were headed to the restaurant upstairs for lunch but the sign said they were closed, so we hung a left and discovered one of Boise's gems. Diego was at the bar and welcomed us in. We told him it was our first time, so he took the time to tell us about all the food and drink options. We found a cozy spot near a window and enjoyed an N/A beer while we waited for our sandwiches and soup (It was a tough choice! The menu has lots of delicious-sounding items.) The food arrived and did not disappoint. Five stars for the food, availability of non-alcohol beer, and excellent service, and an extra star for Diego's choice in music. This is a new favorite. The food was outstanding. Chance (the chef) is a true artist! Not only did he make it absolutely delicious, but he made the presentation stunning. One of the best places in Boise to get a crisp, thin crust pizza that really pleases. I decided to make my own with black olives on tomato sauce with mozz and basil. It's my favorite pizza. But their Don Kahuna is a tasty twist on a Hawaiian and The Boss is a great pepperoni option! Lots of delicious brews on tap here. I'm not much of a beer drinker, but my friends that are adore coming here. Many selections from the Pacific Northwest. The best night to venture in is Tuesday. That's when they make calzones to order. Served with a salad, you get a filling and great meal for around ten bucks or less. Service is friendly. We have been going to the Front Door for as long as I can remember and we have never been dissappointed. The tap list is second to none (unless you want a a Coors or Bud Light) and the food is awesome. Our server Makenzie was a delight, very attentative and offered suggestions to make our meal great. I've eaten at Front Door many times and have always loved our meal there. But tonight they were understaffed, there was only one server for both the inside and outside dining areas, our food took forever, the salad portion was tiny, AND our Thai Express pizza came out without cilantro. When we asked about it, the server went to get some, but it took 15 min! By then we had eaten most of our pizza. I've had this restaurant on my restaurants to try collection for a while and finally me and my boyfriend tried it. It has a great social environment and the staff was very friendly. We both ordered personal pizzas, my partner ordered the wise guy and I ordered a create your own. I asked our waiter if we were able to choose as many veggies as we wanted and he said yes. Little did I know that meant for every veggie it was a dollar extra. I'm pretty sure he understood when I asked that I meant are we able to choose as many veggies for free and in the end we got charged and extra $4 for toppings on a create your own. Upon sitting down at The Front Door, we were informed they had the BEST pizza in Boise, so of course we had to put their claim to the test. I've been to The Front Door for drinks before, but had never eaten, so I was excited to try something new! Food: We started with a la carte wings. They offer several different flavors of wings, and we tried the Thai Peanut and Buffalo versions. They are saucy and amazing, costing around $1.65/wing... super reasonable. I also had a side organic greens salad, which was a big stack of greens, topped with croutons, a tomato and cucumber. It was very good with their balsamic. Finally, we tried a personal Boss pizza (basically, it's a pepperoni pizza). It was absolutely delicious. The crust was puffy & crunchy, the pepperoni was thick and salty, and the cheese--OH THE CHEESE~it was like a cheesy pizza commercial... absolutely amazing. Now, I don't know if they have the BEST pizza in Boise (we love Lulu's!), but it's definitely worth a return trip. Drinks: n/a Atmosphere: Upbeat and fun. They have tall tables & booths, TV's, and an open view of the kitchen. It's not a huge space and can really fill up, but we like it a lot! It feels warm and cozy.
