They really encourage you to make it your day, and it's a truly customizable experience. There is no fixed menu, or seating arrangement, or timeline. They work with you throughout the planning process to make everything your own. Mark and Leigh were incredible every step, not only were they able to comfortably answer all of our questions but everything went smoothly on the day. And Chris in the kitchen is something else, hands down one of the best chefs I have had the pleasure of chatting with, and if he offered, I'd be at his table every night for dinner. Another saving grace is that the venue itself doubles as an airbnb for you and your loved ones. You rent the house for the weekend, and it has 8 bedrooms to divide amongst your bridal party. It really helped me to let loose on my day knowing that my bed was right upstairs and that the Spillian staff would handle the cleanup. They also hosted our rehearsal dinner and morning after brunch, and it lessened the load to not have to plan two separate events with different vendors. Now let's talk about the day itself! I didn't have to lift a finger. My husband and I brought along decorations and signage, and expected to have to do some organizing ourselves. But the Spillian staff were there Friday night when we were unpacking asking what everything was and where we wanted it, and it was packed back up for us by Sunday morning. On Saturday, they went to work putting everything together for us. It was beautifully orchestrated by Spillian's coordinator, Sam. We can't thank her enough for making sure that our rainy day wedding went so smoothly, we barely even noticed that we had to shift our plans within 30 minutes! Originally, the whole affair was meant to be hosted outside, but persistent rain (it is the Catskills after all) had us moving the reception indoors. They had the whole event setup outside and moved it all inside in record time. By the time photos were done everything was set for dinner. They even offer a late night bonfire if that's your thing, and thankfully we were still able to light it in the rain. Overall 35/10 Have your wedding here, stop questioning it.

Now, you may think that it would be insanely difficult to plan a wedding from the opposite side of the country, but Casper is so organized it was stress-free. He is very quick to respond to e-mail correspondence and very thorough on phone conversations. There is so much that goes into these days, but the barn truly has it down to a science. With easy to follow brochures and forms, the planning went so very smoothly. We wanted a very intimate celebration, so we chose a weekday package. It was so affordable and very inclusive, we basically had to sign and choose food and a few decor options. It may sound like we had a simple day, but it was truly anything but. Kim and Kelly designed the most beautiful floral arrangements for the day - I am still shocked at how perfect they were. The entire staff at the barn moved like a well-oiled machine. The Captains House, The Hilltop Pavilion, The Pine Grove, and The Barn are out of a fairy tale. I can't even begin to describe how perfect and beautiful our day was. When I relive the day in my head, I wouldn't/couldn't ask for anything more from The Roxbury Barn and Estate. What a wonderful venue with the greatest staff. I'd choose this venue 1,000x over.

She wanted a very small immediate family and close friends only wedding and we could not be any happier with her choice for the venue. The Roxbury Barn setting, staff, and food were exceptional! We only had a total of 15 attendees, including the bride and groom. The mountain and luxurious green setting, clear crisp air and forest was a perfect setting for the wedding ceremony. The barn and outdoor area was extremely comfortable for the reception. Every staff member was attentive and very friendly. The food was delicious. Casper (the owner) and Kim (wedding coordinator) made sure that each guest was well taken care of. Our daughter raved about her experience planning the wedding and said that everything exceeded her expectations! We have never seen our daughter happier and so stress free. Thank you to all at Roxbury Barn & Estate that made this a very memorable occasion.

The property is decorated with twinkling fairy lights, an old truck, and a rustic barn that are good backdrops for a picture or two. The staff was incredibly nice and knows their products really well. They brought our group bottles of all the ciders and took the time to explain each one to us. The honey cider was the group favorite, but I personally preferred the one with beet in it. They told us it was a controversial flavor that people love or hate, and I understand why. It has such a unique, earthy flavor. Outside, there's some fun activities , including ping pong, a fire pit, and Cornhole. It's a great spot to relax with your friends, sip some refreshing local cider, and enjoy the outdoor view.

Situated on the outer edge of the Catskills, it feels like Andes is just being discovered by visitors. To wit, at the cidery, I heard a Brit (conversing in English) with two Slavic speakers, one of whom was responding solely in his native language. Over there, two youngish guys were discussing bodybuilding form, which led to one of them dropping to the gravel to demonstrate his one armed pushups. And that was just the crowd... I sampled two ciders; everything is available on tap, plus guest taps of craft beer. The first (Catskill, I think?) was semi-dry. I usually lean towards drier varietals, but this really hit the spot after a long tour through the Southern Tier. "Wild" is just what the name says: foraged apples, never twice the same flavor profile year to year. Absolutely outstanding, so a bottle came home with me. A local in line ahead of me said their kitchen was slow, so I didn't attempt food. Really nice location, old coal yard or some such, very vibey, and pleasantly situated in a cute little town. The servers were super nice and engaged, which is always a treat.

No responses until I finally called at the moment some woman named yaako or something like that answered. She was absolutely nasty AF and completely unhelpful. I was trying to plan an event for 30 to 60 people well over 3 months in advance for a Thursday evening. She made it very clear by her s***** customer service that they are not interested in your business. This is a real shame as the place looks really nice and seems to have a great setting, but if this is the customer service I'm going to get from some quote unquote manager- forget it. There are many far better places with far better customer service within 20 minutes of this place.. Oh, and I just checked my notes, her name was Masako (?sp)... And yes she was part of the problem, but no she was not the entire problem. The entire place seems to be a problem. We went to visit a few locations, and searched many more online for days on weeks. It was when we stumbled upon this venue that we knew our search was over. Owls Hoot Barn checked off every box we wanted in a wedding venue. There were even factors we had not necessarily considered in a venue that OHB was and to deliver without fail. The grounds of venue - gorgeous, the owner and her entire family/team - most amazing people you can find, decor and supplies - everything we wanted and needed, overall experience - exactly what you would expect when you think of a small piece of paradise/heaven! And this also includes the fact that our beloved pups were allowed to be on the grounds and partake in our special day! The owner of the venue, who was also our wedding coordinator, went above and beyond to help us arrange everything we needed to make it wedding perfect. Even going as far to come back on site for our rehearsal dinner during her own wedding anniversary! How many people would be willing to do that? Her passion for ensuring every couple out there sees their vision fulfilled is truly one that is undeniable and unique. We could not have pulled this off, let alone reduce our wedding planning stress significantly, without her help. My now wife, our current (and future pups) and myself now have found a place we don't just refer to as a hidden gem, but a small place we can call another home. For any future couples out there, whether you are considered local or coming from another state of the U.S. entirely, you will fall in love with OHB. My wife probably would think I shouldn't leave too long of a review as some people might think "that one is too long to read" but I can't help express how much we truly were blessed with this place...so much that even to this day we joke about doing it all over again just to relive our wedding weekend back in October 2025. For any current/future couples out there searching for a wedding venue in Hudson Valley, NY...this place should absolutely be #1 on your list!
