This was my first visit to this popular spot inside Valley Fair Mall. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decoration is incredibly eye-catching and creates a great vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have a many selection to choose from, including ice cream, gelato, and sorbet. You can customize your order by choosing a cup or a cone (plain or dipped in chocolate and nuts). We tried a couple of options and they were all yummy! The line moves pretty slowly. When I visited, there was only one person handling both orders and payments, which created a bit of a bottleneck. It's definitely not cheap, so expect to pay a premium for the mall location and the quality. Overall, it's a great place for a high-quality treat if you aren't in a huge rush!
Came here on a Friday night for gelato. Line was about five minutes, not bad at all. You pay before you try samples here, which makes sense but takes a second to adjust to. Staff was friendly, but ordering felt like running a gauntlet of upsells. Bigger cup size, nuts on the inside, add-ons across the board, all at steep markups. I declined everything and just ordered what I came for. Got the smallest size with two flavors: matcha and double fudge. The matcha was earthy and sweet, tasted like actual matcha. The double fudge was intense, almost like nutella. Both were genuinely high quality.
I saw a huge line for this place which peaked my interest. I've actually heard of this place before. Well known for their chocolate, so I wanted to try something. Honestly, I was pretty underwhelmed when I tried the gelato. We were also offered a piece of chocolate while we waited in line. That wasn't amazing either. I actually prefer Laderach's chocolate more if I were honest. Probably won't be back.
We got in line at Venchi on a Saturday evening. We waited for 25 minutes, which wasn't bad compared to how long the line was during its inception. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The line was crowded but not too loud.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The workers were calm and friendly, letting us sample several flavors before ordering. We ordered a waffle cone with three scoops: stracciatella (chocolate chip), hazelnut, and bueno & brutto. These are all chocolatey and sweet flavors, so I would recommend them together. The gelato tasted sweet and fresh, perfect for a treat on a hot day. Although I had a great gelato experience, I would not want to wait in that line again.
Chocoviar is absolute favorite for anyone with nut allergies. Though it's dark chocolate, it is not bitter or overpowering. Texture is smooth as any other flavor in Venchi. For my toddler, who has nut allergy, they made sure to grab her scoop of Chocoviar from their back store reserve just because a container of another flavor that had nuts in it, was placed next to the Chocoviar container. Definitely loved this kind of service
This was my first time ever going to this particular ice cream parlor and interestingly enough everything closed early on this particular Valentine's Day Saturday weekend!!! The gentleman got a bit confused that our order and we ended up getting three scoops instead of two, but that was fine. We got Matcha, mango, use lemon! Each flavor had a very unique, strong taste! I really like the combo of the Yuzu lemon and Matcha together!! The chocolate medallion wasn't to our liking, but we're picky when it comes to chocolate. Overall, the set up was a little time-consuming also, but there was one person scooping, one person at the register and another person. Very busy working to clean up everything in the back. The gentleman three people ahead less literally wanted to try every single flavor so the other people between him and us working a little frustrated. I figured since our dinner reservations weren't until 11 PM at Joey's it didn't really matter since we would be waiting regardless! Lol. Overall, I will definitely go back and try other ice cream or sorbets from this particular company since the flavors were so delicious and refreshing! I was also very happy that this particular ice cream parlor was open so late!!
There was no line at all on Sunday around 1pm, so I got served right away. I ordered the hazelnut chocolate gelato (not sure of the exact Italian name, but it was the rich hazelnut-chocolate combo). The small cup was more than enough -- creamy with bits of hazelnuts and the Venchi dark chocolate piece. Shoutout to Cash, who was incredibly friendly and generous. He hooked me up with a really big scoop and even let me try a sample. His great service made the whole visit even better.

This place gets very busy on the weekends. Loved their hand dipped chocolate cones covered in hazelnuts. Their cones are the best I've ever had and tastes so natural. I learned that Venchi prioritize the natural essence of their chocolates and gelato, steering clear of preservatives, artificial flavorings, and colorings. They have an ongoing effort to gradually reduce sugar content each year, ensuring nothing is excessively sweet. I was most impressed with Venchi's commitment to environmental consciousness, maintaining low emissions for their ingredients. Fun Fact: Their pistachios are cultivated on a volcano in Italy! Favorite gelato flavors: -Strawberry with chocolate (berries in love) -hazelnut without chocolate (I forgot the actual name it was in Italian)
Venchi gelato and chocolates are top quality. Yes it is a bit pricey, but they give you a generous amount for it. My personal favorite was chocoviar flavor (75% dark with chocolate bits texture). Shout out to David, our server who skillfully scooped our gelatos! Don't forget to try the chocoviar chocolates. Defo one of a kind!

We came on a Saturday around 8:40 pm, and there was still a long line, which was a good sign. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Venchi is located inside Valley Fair Mall, and the storefront is very eye-catching with its bright colors and elegant displays.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There are two separate lines (one for chocolate and one for gelato) but the line moves fairly quickly. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, and they let us sample up to three flavors before deciding. I highly recommend asking for their favorite flavor combinations because we absolutely loved their recommendation. We ordered a regular cup with nougatine and dark chocolate interior, topped with a scoop of cappuccino and a scoop of hazelnut. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. It was rich, chocolaty, nutty, and had great texture from the nougatine. Easily a 5/5 and something I would order again. Each gelato order also comes with a piece of chocolate on top, which was a nice touch, though just okay in taste. Overall, this is a great spot for gelato, and I'd definitely recommend stopping by if you're at Valley Fair Mall.
Love love their gelato ice-cream that comes with the pistachio and cappuccino flavors. The waffle cone was thin and made on the spot, fresh to order too! My hubby loves their handmade Italian chocolates while I like the uniqueness of their rose almond pistachio chocolate. Again creamy, not too sweet with a hint of rose too.
Finally checked this place out several months ago when the line happened to be really short. My boyfriend and I each got the regular size, and we tried mango sorbet, coconut sorbet, and pistachio gelato, all of which were flavorful. The sorbet textures were a bit off to me, borderline gummy but the gelato was creamy. Given the prices and already having favorite spots elsewhere, I wouldn't care to return unless someone else expressed interest.
I came for the gelato and I got the large cone which i regret because i ended up getting full so quickly but i got stracciatella which i loved, i forgot what the other chocolate flavors i got were called but they were also good, just a bit much for me personally and i didnt end up finishing them. My sister got the strawberry and it was absolutely delicious and so refreshing i regretted not getting that instead of one of the chocolate ones i got.

Went here on a Wednesday afternoon and there was no line. Service is indeed on the slower side but the worker is attentive and allows you to try as many flavors as you'd like. MATCHA GELATO (5/5) - Creamy and earthy, and tastes like a very high quality matcha. It's rich and not overly sweet. VANILLA GELATO (4.5/5) - Super creamy and on the sweeter side but it's vanilla so.. I found that it paired well with the matcha gelato. It's my second time here and first time was 2 years ago. Came here on a Thursday night and the line didn't look long at all so we decided to get some gelato. Even though the line wasn't long, it did take awhile to order. The service here is a bit slow since there are less workers compared to other gelato spots. I got to sample a few different flavors and it was hard to choose just one. I ordered the small cup with chocolate inside w/piedmont hazelnut. It was so yummy. The texture of this gelato is more thick and it wasn't too sweet. The hazelnut flavor paired well with the chocolate inside. I would definitely come back again! read more
So expensive... but so good. This is the place to go when you're craving full-bodied flavors of gelato. You have plenty of options at VF, but Venchi holds a special place in my heart as it's not too heavy, not too sweet, and really has a flavor for everyone. My previous go-to was a certain store located outside known for unique flavors that rotate every month. Unfortunately, their flavors have gotten a bit too crazy for me, and are oftentimes so sweet that it's hard to finish a single portion without sharing. At Venchi, I can easily eat a regular size by myself and feel so satisfied after. One thing to know before you go is that you pay first before you sample, so you'll need to commit to how many flavors and what size you want before sampling. I highly recommend upgrading to the freshly made waffle cone. There's a lot of other options like adding chocolate and other toppings to your cone, but that's completely up to you. As for the sampling, the people working there are very patient and generous, and will let you sample to your heart's content! If you have specific preferences (like you prefer less sweet or maybe even more sweet), they're happy to share their recommendations as well. My go to is pistachio and cremino, which is like a more hazelnutty version of nutella (and also less sweet than nutella). PS - make sure to sign up for their rewards program! They're running a promotion where you get a free mini bar of chocolate with a purchase of $20. After spending $40, you'll start getting 5% off future purchases. read more

I cannot get enough of their strawberry stracciatella. Think strawberry chocolate chip! Honestly if it weren't for this flavor, Venchi's wouldn't be as distinguished to me. You also get your choosing of either a small dark or milk chocolate to be placed on top of your gelato. Yes the line can be pretty long, but it doesn't move too slowly. They also have a chocolate selection to the left of the store. I've purchased a pistachio flavored chocolate bar before which was pretty good, as well as a box of chocolates. I appreciated how they let me sample the chocolate beforehand. read more

Stopped by on Sunday, 09/31/25 for the first time! I honestly have never heard of this boujee chocolate and gelato place before! I am from SoCal and a peer mentioned about this place to me (looks like there's only 2 locations in SoCal - 1 in Glendale and 1 in San Diego). I really wanted to try out their gelatos! Venchi is known for their Artisanal Gelatos and chocolates. They are known for their quality, creaminess and gelatos that are made free of artificial colorings & flavorings. There's always a line that moves relatively slowly, but it's forgivable because the staff is really focused on providing quality service to their customers. This place follows a reverse workflow. You pay first for what you want before "trying the ice cream and selecting the flavor you want." This really threw me off because without "trying" the flavors first, it was hard to make a decision blindly on how many flavors I wanted to get, let alone if I should get it in the cup vs. cone with additional chocolate dip with hazelnut or pistachio shavings on the cone rim, which doesn't go well with certain flavors. 1. Extra Virgin Olive oil Gelato (4/5) A seasonal flavor that combines Extra virgin olive oil with the classic Italian gelato fiordilatte (creamy milk flavor) base. It's creamy from the base, but you definitely get that subtle spice kick and herbal notes from the olive oil. Quite interesting! On its own, it is a bit bland. I think it pairs well with their waffle cone that's dipped in chocolate with the pistachio rim to give it extra flavor. 2. Parmigiano Reggiano Gelato (5/5) Say what?!? It sounds gross to have a cheese-flavored ice cream, but don't let the name deceive you. This has got to be one of my most favorite gelato/ice creams that I've had yet. This gelato also uses the fiordilatte (creamy milk flavor) base but infused with at savory notes of the Parmigiana reggiano cheese. There's literally shredded flakes of cheese intermixed within the gelato. Must try if it's available. I don't recommend adding more chocolate or toppings to it as it will detract from the flavor. Next to the gelato station, there's a whole section of chocolates that they sell. A variety of unique flavors ranging from white chocolate bars, milk chocolate, dark chocolate, hazelnut, Gianduja, and pistachio bars. They also have other types of chocolate forms ranging from -Chocoviar, cremino, gianduiotto, pearl, and Ingot. 1. Pistachio Cremino (4.5/5) Cremino is basically a 3-layered chocolate; pistachio white chocolate past in between 2 layers of milk chocolate. It's on the sweeter side, but the bits of pistachio inside balances it out while giving it additional pistachio richness. 2. Pistachio Gianduiotto (4.5/5) Gianduiotto means the chocolate is shaped resembling a small overturned boat. It's super creamy, sweet, yet slightly salted. It's more of a pasty white chocolate texture with the richness of pistachio flavoring. 3. Chocoviar Pistachio (5/5) If you are a Ferrero Rocher/hazelnut fan, you will like this one a lot. It's essentially a dark chocolate microsphere shell dipped in toffee crumbs and cocoa nibs. The inside is filled and contrasted with pistachio paste and whole pieces of pistachio. Given this has a dark chocolate base, it's not overwhelmingly sweet, which is spot on for me. It's pricey, but worth the venture and treat one in a while!!! Gotta enjoy life a bit right?! read more
Yummm you can really taste how high quality the gelato is at Venchi. I got pistachio and baciodidama (hazelnut crunchy biscuit). Both flavors were super nutty, which I really enjoyed. I've never had pistachio this authentic tasting before! Definitely recommend. There was a bit of a line, but I don't think we waited more than 10 minutes. Treat yoself! read more
As someone who has only had this in Europe, it's good to know American didn't ruin it by bringing it to the states. The flavors were incredibly fresh and sweet yet not too over powering. While at the Westfield Valley Fair mall, I decided to try a small scoop of gelato! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love the modern, chic decor of gelato on cones that surrounded the shop.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There was a line, but it moved relatively quickly even with people sampling. I tried a few others before making my final decision on Caramel Pannacotta. It was surprisingly not too sweet. Actually, vanilla gelato was even sweeter. Nice treat after having dinner and walking around the mall. They even give you a piece of dark chocolate to balance the sweetness. Loved it! Hope to come back to try other flavors. read more

Not just because my wallet hurts when I get my sweet tooth fix here, but also because the lines are mad long!! And understandable so! Wow, they've gotten really creative with their gelato offers. I saw a Parmesan cheese flavor offer and an olive oil one! My partner and I actually came by because he was rewarded two free scoops for being a loyal member (heh, it's worth signing up y'all!). We had to have olive oil as one of our scoops and then another scoop of our choice. Man, I am experiencing huge regret for not asking for a second scoop of olive oil! That gelato was SMOOTH. Super good! I don't know how they got their gelato to be so silky, but the olive oil was dang good. It had a nice sweet taste that didn't make me feel so guilty I was having ice cream before boba, lol. The staff were all pretty friendly. Super crafty with how they scoop their gelato! I think it's an art in some way~ Also, don't be shy! Ask for samples if you're curious. Parmesan cheese is interesting, lol. Try it if you can. I'm a big fan of their chocolates! This time I tried the gelato. Regular size has two flavors so I tried pistachio which tastes like pistachio nut butter and parmesan which was sweet cheese cream with cheese bits: both tasty and different from anywhere I've tried. The staff are nice with chocolate samples offers and an extra chocolate coin on the gelato. The place itself is very cute with a chocolate fountain wall. Came here after lunch on a Saturday to get a sweet treat. The line was long but was surprised to see it went by pretty quickly! You pay upfront first then provide your receipt to the staff to pick your flavors. I was pleasantly surprised at their plant based flavor options! The staff at Venchi were great at their recommendations and let me try up to 3 flavors. I ended up going with the dark chocolate and wow!! I 10/10 highly recommend this flavor. The mango passionfruit came at a close second but that chocolate flavor?? Wheeeew do not skip it! I didn't get the staff member's name but thank you for introducing me to this flavor I never knew I needed!! It was the perfect dessert after a heavy lunch and satisfied my sweet tooth. Also they have a chocolate shop to the left of their gelato area, so many different options from chocolate bars to small assorted boxes. Definitely plan to come again! read more

We ordered a large cup to share between the two of us, which lets you pick up to three flavors. I went with Stracciatella (Milk & Chocolate chips), Tiramisu (Mascarpone, coffee & cocoa), and Cremino (Cocoa & Hazelnut). And, I also requested for the dark hazelnut chocolate spread lined inside the cup. The mix of sweet and bitter was so good! The best part was reaching the bottom and scraping that rich hazelnut spread with the last of the gelato-it paired all the flavors together perfectly. Came here on a Saturday evening and tried the Parmigiano Reggiano and what I think was Brutto & Buono (I forgot but definitely something with chocolate and hazelnuts). We decided on doing a pound because why not? A group of 3 of us wanted the same flavors. Flavors were good! The Parmigiano Reggiano was surprisingly pleasant, and as a nutella lover, the Brutto & Buono was a hit. I'm no gelato connoisseur, so I cannot account for the actual gelato itself, but I did enjoy the flavors! Just a heads up, we got in line around 8:30-8:45ish and the line was still LONG (probably because it was a Saturday). We waited about 15-30 mins in line. The service is where I found Venchi to be kind of subpar. In their defense, the line was long, and it was about maybe 30-45 mins until closing. This spot is so good! There was a line when we arrived, but it moved quickly--only waited about 10 minutes. I tried the Parmigiano Reggiano and Caramel & Rosemary flavors, and both were incredible. Super smooth texture, and I loved the crunch and little flakes mixed in. I'm giving it 4 stars--not because of the gelato (which was amazing), but because the seating situation could definitely be better managed. There were people hanging out at the tables who didn't seem to have ordered anything, and others were saving seats while their friends were still in line. I ended up waiting quite a while for a table. To their credit, the manager checked in when we raised it, and it turns out those people were ordering--but still, it would be great if they enforced a "no saving seats" and "customers only" policy for that area. read more
Venchi has been commercialized since arriving in the US. Still a good ice cream / dessert stop for a shopping mall, especially when they don't run out of your favorite flavor. Venchi is a gelato shop inside Westfield Mall on the second floor. They operate both as a chocolate shop as well as a gelato stand. They get real busy here. In a mall filled with boba shops, this gelato experience stands out so people are here to wait. Ours was about 15 minutes so not too bad. They had a vegan chocolate flavor along with three fruit sorbet flavors. I loved having a regular scoop split with the chocolate and passion fruit flavors, the latter being an incredible pallet cleanser. We came by on Sunday and there was a long line so we started to skip it and wait until we came back today during the week in the morning. There was literally nobody else other than me. I tried a single cup of milk chocolate with hazelnut with no gourmet coating inside the cup. It wasn't bad but it certainly not among the best I've had (in Rome, Florence and even Vancouver). The texture of the gelato was smooth enough but it did distinguish itself from just good ice cream. There wasn't any distinctive milk chocolate flavour either. For the price it charges, the somewhat flashy decor, and its circa 1878 history, I was expecting something better. Would I have it again? Probably not. read more
Absolutely delicious Gelato! Definitely a must try treat in Valley Fair Mall. I love that their flavors are different from Eataly. I actually prefer the Gelato flavors and texture at Venchi. Customer service was outstanding. The staff patiently let us try several samples before we made our final selection. The chocolates are delicious too. They're so generous with their portions and samples. My son dropped his Gelato accidentally and they gave him a replacement for free! After seeing huge lines for Venchi every time I go to the mall on the weekends, I finally stopped to try it after seeing no line on a weekday. And honestly.. I don't get the hype. It's good gelato.. but not THAT good. I personally like Eataly's gelato better! The texture of Venchi's gelato is good, but I think the flavors just weren't hitting the spot for me. Since there was no line, I didn't feel bad sampling, and tried maybe 6-7 different flavors (including what the server said were their top hits). They were all just.. ok? The chocolate gelatos were a bit better relative to the other flavors, but still wasn't amazing. Venchi has definitely got a wow factor with their decor though, and it's nice to have that seating area right in front. I can see it being a nice place to sit and enjoy a gelato with your friends, especially under a the huge skylight. I personally likely wouldn't come back here, but wouldn't say it's bad! Standing on its own, I have a neutral view towards Venchi, but with Eataly and Salt & Straw right next door.. I'd probably go there instead. read more

We finally got to try their gelato and it is extremely creamy. The line had about ten people ahead of us and the wait is much longer than most ice cream places as they only had one person serving gelato and one person at the register. They have a few options of cones to select from as well as olive oil and hazelnut drip. We opted for the cone and tried the pistachio, mango, hazelnut, cheese and more! The mango and hazelnut were the best flavors so we got a two flavor scoop of them topped off with a dark chocolate coin. Absolutely delicious~ read more
