It truly is the GOOD salad with all of their fresh ingredients and dressing. I always get the custom mix with a bed of romaine, chicken ( they have their new Cajun chicken which is delicious), feta, corn, and some toasted almonds and onions for texture with the sweet sesame dressing. I'd wish they offer the macros for the dressing (someone DM me if they do!) so I can track it on my app. I love ordering from here when I can go grocery shopping. Overall: 10/10 recommend. Nice salads, you can tell they're actually using high quality fresh ingredients. I'm not usually a big fan of salad but I really enjoyed my lunch from here. They have plenty of toppings to choose from, and allergens are labelled on the website. I got mine with the black seed lemon vinaigrette which was really really good. One note- their signature good glaze contains honey so it is not vegan. Not sure if other dressings also contain honey. The box the salads come in is really cute. I am particularly biased towards the Blazing Bird, Mediterranean Medley, Samurai Steak, and create your own but I just appreciate the variety and customization of the entire menu. I order from DoorDash often, and the pricing and ingredient additions/removals are transparent. I would totally order from the Good Salad when looking for takeout for a group or solo meals. Their toppings and dressing are flavorful and the number of ingredients in each salad are so nourishing and colorful. This location is very clean, cool, and aesthetically pleasing. Come here at minimum weekly bc the Cesar salad is so good! I'm not much of a salad person but I could eat one every day! I love coming here! There are super nice and professional employees at this location. I've picked up salads from here about five times and the ingredients are always fresh and flavorful. I recommend ordering the chicken. It's well seasoned and juicy. I also love that the salad dressing comes on the side! Just picked up my 3rd salad in a week from the Palo Alto location. I guess I'm in a serious relationship now. Saba is very nice and prepares a great salad. Ive evolved from their tasty set salads to designing my own. The online ordering is clear and easy. I'm really into trying different combinations and dressings. I do wish the avocados weren't mashed in advance with lemon juice as that changes their taste. I know it keeps them green, but it degrades the flavor. Thats my only suggestion for improvement as The Good Salad is really The Great Salad. If you like Sweetgreen, I think you'll like The Good Salad even more. read more

OMG my co worker put me on the good salad and it's a literal hidden gem in Palo Alto! Because it's a small place they encourage pick ups only but if you happen to walk by and decided you wanted to give it a try you can come in and order a salad. I love a salad so for lunch we tried this place. It is a tiny shop with some street parking. There are a few seats outside if you wanted to eat there. I created my own salad with spring mix, sweet sesame, steak, avocado and carrots. You can pick 5 toppings and they allowed us to do multiple scoops of avocado. The salad was good but the steak was pretty sad. I don't know what we were expecting but it was just cold pieces of meat. Nothing too bad but a bit funny. They do fresh baked focaccia bread and I asked for a sample and the person working actually gave me a whole piece. It was good! I didn't catch their name but thank you! The salad itself was definitely a 3/5 but the service was great so that gives it another star. They do get pretty busy with pick up orders so it might take a while for your order if it is during lunch rush. read more

I love The Good Salad! Now, let me paddle back a bit! I normally do not like salads. When I used to think of salads, I am always afraid of getting hungry right away. Second, normally, I don't like salad dressing because I feel it is full of unhealthy stuff for you and most places douse your salad in dressing. Now, The Good Salad have hearty salads that are good for you and filling. They have enough protein that you will not have to be hunting for them buried in a pile of lettuce. These salads were exceptional excellent. The dressings were different but so tasty. Unfortunately they were sold out of the focaccia bread but I will definitely be returning when I'm in the neck of the woods. The chicken was very tasty as well. They put a scoop of guacamole which was good. You can't eat inside but outside there is some sitting. Very clean and nice. The worker helped with questions and was kind. Go check them out! Salad spot is definitely worth the visit! 5 stars!! Quick, convenient, delicious! Location: Right off el camino (which is the MAIN road), so parking may be tough. Might be easiest to park on a side street. Location is super close to Stanford, so grabbing a salad and finding a nice spot to sit outside and eat will be easy! Note: there is not seating inside, just a walk-up counter. Advise to take home or find a local bench. Food: There are a handful of pre-designed salads you can choose from or you can customize and create your own. They build the salad right in front of you; think a deli counter or chipotle. Avocado is pretty standard in at least half of their salads which is a huge W. The ingredients are fresh and your options are flexible! The amount of toppings you can choose from is AMAZING (over 30 options!!), more than i have seen at most salad places and AVO and cheese is considered a premium. Love! -Blazing Bird was amazing if you are going for the southwest, tex-mex, kind of feel. -Samurai steak had that asian inspiration with a spicy twist. Critique: Couple critiques: I wish they had kale... (as of the time of writing it is not a base option) and more dressing options. Overall: Great salads with a different twist. The samurai steak is similar to an asian sesame salad with tri tip steak added, and the blazing bird is a Chipotle chicken salad. Both were very fresh and tasted great! I wish they came with a bit more meat though, the small cubes of chicken and tri tip didn't really make a difference.. you would definitely need to pay for the "more protein" to make it worth it. read more

What a lucky find through yelp! I was nearby and something canceled at noon. Now with free time and needing lunch, I turned to yelp. I was barely 2 miles from the Good Salad and I headed over. Even though they are having a soft opening, they seemed ready to handle anything. I ordered a Samurai Salad to go (all orders are to go) and loved it. I was so excited for The Good Salad's opening! This location is just off Cal Ave on El Camino nestled between other shops. Let's get to the food! I was really excited about all the menu options. You can order a salad that has ingredients already chosen or custom make it. I'm a custom girl! Portion: The portion was really good sized where it could be split into two meals. They also give you a generous amount of each of the 5 toppings plus protein. Tasty toppings: The Brioche croutons are chef's kiss! They seem to excel here at crunchy toppings. And they picked the most perfectly ripe avocado. I don't know how it was that perfect. A few points of improvement: 1. I was SO excited about the interesting dressing options, especially the low calorie herb dressing. Unfortunately, both the sesame and herb dressings were too tangy and acidic for me. 2. Also, to the point of dressing. You get one cup of dressing and one glaze included. An additional dressing is something like $1.25-1.50! Not cheap, although the dressing cups are about double the size of Sweetgreen. 3. I wish they had more cooked toppings - something like sweet potatoes, Brussel sprouts, etc. I also wish they had tofu instead of edamame for vegetarians. Hopefully, they expand their hours. This salad shop is amazing, and their salads pack a lot of flavors. Usually, I'm not a big salad person because it's either lacking in flavors or is too heavy on the greens than anything else. When I tried the salad from The Good Salad shop, I was blown away by the flavors and the variety of the ingredients. I got their blazing bird signature salad with a few add ons, and I also tried their fresh watermelon juice. You also have the option to make your own salad bowl. From what I remember, the restaurant doesn't have a seating space, so their salads are packed in to-go boxes but they make sure that your ingredients are separated nicely and your sauces are packed separately so nothing gets soggy by the time you get back home. Their chipotle ranch and pesto cezer dressings were amazing. The salad had a good balance of greens and other veggies/ingredients. It was a delicious and filling meal, and I'm glad I gave it a try. Their watermelon juice was also unique. It was mixed with pomegranate and a few other ingredients, which gave it a kick. Wasn't expecting to fall in love with a salad but here we are. I've ordered from The Good Salad three times this month and every time it hits just right. I usually go for the Blazin Bird (that chipotle ranch is no joke), but I recently started building my own and it's kind of addicting. The online system is super user-friendly and they're always ready right on time. Shoutout to Marcus who always greets with a smile and even remembered my name on my second visit, small things like that go a long way. Only minor critique is I wish they had more crunchy toppings, something like crispy chickpeas or fried onions would take it up another notch. But that's just me being picky. Absolutely loved the samurai steak salad. The steak was flavorful and tender, not overcooked at all or dry!! The salad has generous portions of toppings and the perfect peanut sesame dressing. I had the Caesar salad, the chicken was cooked well and the flavors and textures really tasty. I also gave the steak a second chance and it was completely different from my first experience, juicy, tender and flavorful. So I'll just chalk up my first visit as an off day for the steak salad. The "create your own salad" option basically makes it impossible to create any classic salad. For example, you're limited to exactly 1 protein, so you want to create a classic Caesar salad with egg and bacon? You're out of luck. (Also there's no anchovies here, so you're double out of luck.) Cobb salad? Well, you're getting either only bacon, or only chicken, or only eggs. Don't even think of eating a Niçoise salad with tuna, because there ain't tuna. I don't understand why they're so stingy with the number of things you can add, but the net result is a food establishment that will likely appeal mostly to people who don't like food all that much. read more
