There was a long line to order but it moved fairly quickly. They have a great looking selection of donuts and I would like to go back to try them. I ordered a mocha (iced). Service was very friendly. Small wait for the drink to be ready. They have indoor and outdoor seating.

Everytime I go to the farmers market in Carlsbad I have to stop by The Goods for my donuts and coffee. They are excellent and great quality, flavor and freshness. It is very pleasant to be there with the flowers and nice people who are not attached to the phones but just enjoying good conversations. You can also get some nice cards and merch for last minute gifts. I likw the color palette of the coffee shop and the comfortable green seating area as well as the tables. All is clean and I like the bathroom floor, check it out, made with coins!

Definitely deserving of the name! This place has The Goods!!! The donuts were delicious and still warm. Tried the seasonal lemon berry. The inside lemon filling was tart and sweet. And the berry topping was divine! The apple fritter was perfectly cooked with sweet chunky apple filling. Only warning is it's very sweet - as a donut should be. Almost ordered another but glad we didn't as 1.5 sweet treats was perfect - filling and sugary. The staff was friendly and helpful. Was pleasant to sit inside and enjoy the sweet treats. Was a nice flow of customers, never busy or noisy. Highly recommend for those with a sweet tooth!

North County Donut Tour - Stop 1: As someone who lives in SD proper, I almost never have a reason to go far, far away up to N County. But I've had my eye on some donut shops up there for a while so decided "will travel for donuts," and visited the farthest one away first. The Goods has a unique selection of flavors and many overall options. The key lime pie filled donut caught my eye since I rarely see this flavor, and am a sucker for a meringue topping. Got the passionfruit guava per employee recommendation and the brown butter sea salt. The toasted meringue on the key lime pie donut was scrumptious and I enjoyed the tartness of the curd filling. However it definitely tasted like quality lemon curd, not key lime. The guava passionfruit was a miss because there was so little filling and I didn't taste any assertive passionfruit note. I did like the cream cheese fruity frosting on top but there was just too much plain doughnut left over so this one didn't deliver for me. But the overall winner was definitely the much humbler looking brown butter sea salt. The crumb was extra moist, and the flavor notes were harmonious.

The farmer's market is just outside the entrance but the noise is not obtrusive.

Whenever we travel to Carlsbad, we spend Wednesday afternoon at the Farmers' Market in Carlsbad Village. On our second lap of the booths, we visit The Goods for coffee and a doughnut and a short rest at one of their tables. The waitstaff is helpful, pleasant, and attentive even though they are very busy with customers and restocking doughnuts. One goes to the counter for order, payment, and pickup as in many coffee shops. It just feels local and we enjoyed the nostalgia and the respite. It is easy to find but on Wednesdays you will likely have to park two blocks away.

Such a fun addition to Carlsbad Village! The shop is adorable, the donuts are creative and beautifully made, and everything felt fresh. Cute atmosphere, staff was fine, they remade my coffee for me which was nice. It's a tiny bit precious but I've had wayyyyy worse. I recommend as a perfect place to grab a treat for a gift. We will definitely be back to try more flavors!

Nice people, very clean, good donuts. We selected 6 donuts and 3 out of the six were bangers. For the most part the donuts were light and airy. The bangers were the chocolate eclair type one, the Nutella foam filled and maple bacon donuts. $32 for 6 donuts makes a me a bit picky, but I probably wouldn't get the French cruller or seasonal berry donuts again. I definitely wouldn't get the apple fritter a second time.

GLAZE AND GRIND (some words of wisdom on their wall) The Goods was very cutesy and vibrant, the type of coffee shop/donut place that fits in with the carlsbad boutiques! they had a variety of donuts (even gluten free, vegan ones!). I went in to get a fun drink. I ordered an oat milk matcha latte with vanilla, and when i asked for it to be a little sweeter, the staff accommodated. there are tables inside and outside, making it a fun place to lounge. i will def being coming back!

I am a die hard SideCar fan, so I had high expectations coming in...especially with the reviews. The Goods is waking distance from the massage spa we come down to Carlsbad for. I dropped my wife off and decided to take a quick 5 minute stroll with my toddler to donut shop. I was impressed with the variety of donuts and type of donuts they offered. We decided to go with what seemed to be their largest donut (at least from my POV), a good ol Apple Fritter ($6). It was nice and warm when they handed us the fritter. I was again impressed by the size of it. It was well worth the price. Plenty of seating both inside and outside. I kept seeing people constantly coming in and out, and not only for their donuts but for some coffee as well. I plan on venturing out next time and trying one of their other flavorful donuts.

Delicious. Kind service. Fun Art Deco kind of vibe. A must try at least once. Highly recommend the jalapeño croissant and anything seasonal. Not cheap, but a fun one time experience or treat.

This is probably my favorite bakery!! I would give a 4.5 only because sometimes they are not prepared first thing in the morning or run out quickly of what I want. However I LOVE that they have vegan and gluten free options. The donuts look very gourmet and there are so many flavors to try. I get something different almost every time. The vegan ones are thicker than the typical donut but I don't mind it. Everyone has always been friendly. Leisurely pace but worth the wait. read more

We made the trip because it was a good looking donut shop that my wife follows on Instagram. We were headed to legoland for the day and decided we should see if their doughnuts were worthy of the hype. Not only did every single doughnut we got taste amazing, their service was fantastic. Very clean place, aesthetically decorated as well. The donut selection is is good. They don't sell donuts by the dozen but can fit six to a box, all individually priced at around $3. Tahitian vanilla was my favorite. read more

It's an excellent donut/pastry store. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. We've had many items and all have been excellent. We were visiting for the first time and saw online that The Goods has gluten free donuts. Normally when a place has GF.. you have one or two choices.. this place has many! I had the Boston cream GF donut and it was amazing! The best gf donut I've ever had!! My girls enjoyed all of the different flavors (they r not gf) and the presentation was amazing. Decent customer service but the coffee was just ok, I ordered an iced mocha and an iced latte. They used stump town roasters beans, which are pretty good otherwise, I wonder why it didn't taste the same as other places that use the same beans. read more

Totally worth a visit! Was visiting from out of town and managed to get back here twice. There is a wide selection of unique donut to try - each one is so worth the calories. They even offer vegan and gluten free options. Great service - great donut - great shop read more

I was so excited to come here and have been waiting for about 2 months! Finally got the chance this morning and was very disappointed. The doughnuts were good but not amazing. The service was horrible. The cashiers were irritated and honestly rude. This is my favorite morning spot to go and get coffee. Not only do they sell and make stumptown coffee but they have the best donuts and customer serves. Also the interior of this place is so cute and modern. I would say this is a higher end donut shop and the prices aren't even bad! They even have VEGAN DONUTS on specific days!!!!! They are really good for vegan donuts so it's defiantly worth trying and just going for the over all experience read more

I agree with what some of the other Yelpers have said...this place is probably going to be a hit with tourists, despite the fact that its lacking something. It's a little too minimalist and could really use some warmth or charm. It was also absurdly loud and we literally had to shout our order to the woman behind the counter in order for her to hear us. We had been warned that the donuts are $3 each and that was just for a chocolate glazed. Sadly, it just wasn't very good. I didn't know that donuts could be bland, but this one was. It didn't really have a true donut consistency. It almost tasted low-fat, which I'm sure it wasn't, but there was a richness that was missing. read more

I had such high expectations but it really fell flat. The cost per donut is pretty pricey. They do have a great selection of very pretty looking donuts. The cinnamon roll I got was extremely dry with what felt like a pound of cream cheese icing, you can definitely share with several other people. Also tried a cake donut it was good but nothing to call home about. read more

This review is specifically for the vegan donuts. I've been vegan for many years and I always get excited when I find places that offer vegan treats. I've had only a few good vegan donuts in my life, since sadly they are still not very common. I was stoked to find a place in North County offering vegan donuts so we stopped by here recently to get my daughter a little birthday treat. Most other reviews raved about the vegan donuts, but unfortunately my experience wasn't the same. I've had vegan yeast donuts and vegan cake donuts (fried of course!), but these ones seemed like they were just baked in a donut cake mold or something. Because of this, they were kind of doughy and dense. The flavors were nice (we had chocolate ganache and mixed berry), although next to all of the gourmet yeasted donuts, they did look a bit plain. I'm really glad the vegan trend is growing since it means more options for people like me, but unless there's a product that rivals it's non vegan counterpart, people won't be as open to the idea. I hope one day The Goods will be interested in finding that recipe (it does exist... I've had it!). read more

So. Good. They were all very good but here's our order starting with our favorites: #1 Brown Butter Seasonal doughnut my husband and I loved the brown butter. Soft, but also a crisp to the edge or bottom of the doughnut and lightly sweetened ... mmm soo good! #2 Boston Creme. Best Boston cream we've ever had. The chocolate isn't some crappy Hershey's chocolate oh no... this is the real product! On top of a soft yeast doughnut filled with the most beautiful and creamy vanilla custard. #3 Churro Cruller. I wish it had more of the cinnamon sugar on it but man-- was it the most satisfying soft layered doughnut. I really did like it! #4 Cracker Jacks-- this was my kids favorite doughnut. It was good but a little too sweet for husband and I. We'll be back tomorrow for more before we leave Carlsbad. This is a must visit if you're near the area. You won't be disappointed! read more

Loved the brown butter cake donut. It was delicious! The peanut butter cup donut didn't impress, however I'll be back for that cake donut. I'm not the best person to review raised donuts because they're not my favorite, however they are my 8yr old son's favorite and he did not like the Reese's donut so maybe try a different one or the fabulous cake one! read more

PARKING: Difficult to find parking. My husband dropped me off front of the store while he looped around to find parking. SERVICE: Depends on the person. Some are great others blahhhh. DONUTS: yum yum yum. Even the vegan ones were amazing. We tried: brown butter, passion fruit, and chocolate caramel cookie. All delicious and texture was great too. I would definitely go back for more. read more

That kind of dedication tells you everything you need to know about these donuts. Decades later, our cousins drive them 3 hours to Los Angeles like precious cargo for the family to enjoy when they come to visit. A donut. 3 hours in a car. Still incredible. Some things are just built different. Our cousins are hero's! Only one complaint, they are not open late, which is truly a crime against everyone with late night munchies and poor decision making skills. The world needs VG Donuts at midnight. I'm not sure why they don't have it more visible for guests, but I was able to try their blueberry donut, which I thought was really good. The texture was amazing and the donut itself was super soft, but I did feel like it was a little too sweet with the amount of sugar and icing. Overall, I think the donuts are good, but I'm not sure I would come back. At around $5 to $6 per donut, it's definitely on the pricier side. It's a nice treat if you're already in the area and want to stop by, but I would hope that my next experience would be better with the staff and that the layout of the shop would feel a little more organized.

The incredibly sweet woman behind the counter who helped us with a dessert order for a family dinner for twelve, the sheer beauty and variety of the baked goods in her store, or the 20 amazing cookies we ended up buying. The Carlsbad Bakery has been around for 40+ years specializing in Danish and French pastries, quiche, cupcakes, cakes, and too many eye-popping things to list. We walked over on a Friday and after talking to the proprietor decided that a variety of cookies would be the way to go. What wasn't easy was deciding what type of cookie, because their big chocolate chip, pistachio, almond, cherry, and peanut butter cookies all looked beyond amazing. We decided on a box of 20 mixed cookies ($52.90) and returned the next day to pick them up. My Sweet Lord, the box was as heavy as a bowling ball and was warm with freshly baked cookies. The intoxicating aroma penetrated the carton and filled our hotel room. When they were served at dinner, people's eyes popped out of their heads because they were so gorgeous. I managed to restrain myself and limited my dessert to one pistachio cookie that was fantastic. Of course, all of my cousins wanted to know where we found these amazing cookies. Thank you, Carlsbad Bakery, for such a fantastic customer experience. Your store is beautiful, and your product is extraordinary.

Last time I came here the service was wonderful and the donuts were even better. This time around the service was horrible no one greeted us it was more like we were an inconvenience.. There was a African American man in the area where they decorate the donuts just on his phone not even paying attention to what was happening outside even though there were people in line waiting to get their donuts. Literally felt like my family and we're just an inconvenience to him and to the girl at the register. No clue what all the bad reviews are about. I read through most of them and I can't believe people are raggin on the taste and consistency of these donuts! Maybe they've gotten better since they opened but I just went for the first time last weekend and I'll definitely be going back. I don't see why people are complaining about the price either. Love the donuts here! They don't taste oily and they're not too sugary. I think it's more of a gourmet flavor which I love! The service is great too and you don't have to wait forever in line. There isn't alot of seating, but it's ok because we usually take the donuts to go. read more
