So this little cute shop is located in Carlsbad Village. We came on a Saturday morning at around 11am and it was pretty easy to find parking . There was a large lot maybe 1 block away that we parked at and then walked in from there. Inside, there was a line but it moved pretty fast. The donuts on display look so gooddd, we had to try one even though I was originally there for coffee. Person behind the donut area was really nice with great customer service! Cashier was the same! They have a little water stand you can get some water from too which was nice after chowing down on the donut. The donut itself was so good. Right amount of fluffiness and taste and crispiness. I'm still thinking about the donut and how good it was. I will come again one day.

Long line but moves quickly, they have indoor seating and coffee and matcha options. The shop is cute and there are gluten free options too. Located in downtown Carlsbad with street parking.

There was a long line to order but it moved fairly quickly. They have a great looking selection of donuts and I would like to go back to try them. I ordered a mocha (iced). Service was very friendly. Small wait for the drink to be ready. They have indoor and outdoor seating.

Everytime I go to the farmers market in Carlsbad I have to stop by The Goods for my donuts and coffee. They are excellent and great quality, flavor and freshness. It is very pleasant to be there with the flowers and nice people who are not attached to the phones but just enjoying good conversations. You can also get some nice cards and merch for last minute gifts. I likw the color palette of the coffee shop and the comfortable green seating area as well as the tables. All is clean and I like the bathroom floor, check it out, made with coins!

Definitely deserving of the name! This place has The Goods!!! The donuts were delicious and still warm. Tried the seasonal lemon berry. The inside lemon filling was tart and sweet. And the berry topping was divine! The apple fritter was perfectly cooked with sweet chunky apple filling. Only warning is it's very sweet - as a donut should be. Almost ordered another but glad we didn't as 1.5 sweet treats was perfect - filling and sugary. The staff was friendly and helpful. Was pleasant to sit inside and enjoy the sweet treats. Was a nice flow of customers, never busy or noisy. Highly recommend for those with a sweet tooth!

North County Donut Tour - Stop 1: As someone who lives in SD proper, I almost never have a reason to go far, far away up to N County. But I've had my eye on some donut shops up there for a while so decided "will travel for donuts," and visited the farthest one away first. The Goods has a unique selection of flavors and many overall options. The key lime pie filled donut caught my eye since I rarely see this flavor, and am a sucker for a meringue topping. Got the passionfruit guava per employee recommendation and the brown butter sea salt. The toasted meringue on the key lime pie donut was scrumptious and I enjoyed the tartness of the curd filling. However it definitely tasted like quality lemon curd, not key lime. The guava passionfruit was a miss because there was so little filling and I didn't taste any assertive passionfruit note. I did like the cream cheese fruity frosting on top but there was just too much plain doughnut left over so this one didn't deliver for me. But the overall winner was definitely the much humbler looking brown butter sea salt. The crumb was extra moist, and the flavor notes were harmonious.

The farmer's market is just outside the entrance but the noise is not obtrusive.

Whenever we travel to Carlsbad, we spend Wednesday afternoon at the Farmers' Market in Carlsbad Village. On our second lap of the booths, we visit The Goods for coffee and a doughnut and a short rest at one of their tables. The waitstaff is helpful, pleasant, and attentive even though they are very busy with customers and restocking doughnuts. One goes to the counter for order, payment, and pickup as in many coffee shops. It just feels local and we enjoyed the nostalgia and the respite. It is easy to find but on Wednesdays you will likely have to park two blocks away.

Bottom left clockwise: apple fritter, cruller, chocolate eclair thingy , berry, maple bacon and the one filled with a Nutella foam/creme.

Nice people, very clean, good donuts. We selected 6 donuts and 3 out of the six were bangers. For the most part the donuts were light and airy. The bangers were the chocolate eclair type one, the Nutella foam filled and maple bacon donuts. $32 for 6 donuts makes a me a bit picky, but I probably wouldn't get the French cruller or seasonal berry donuts again. I definitely wouldn't get the apple fritter a second time.

Such a fun addition to Carlsbad Village! The shop is adorable, the donuts are creative and beautifully made, and everything felt fresh. Cute atmosphere, staff was fine, they remade my coffee for me which was nice. It's a tiny bit precious but I've had wayyyyy worse. I recommend as a perfect place to grab a treat for a gift. We will definitely be back to try more flavors!

GLAZE AND GRIND (some words of wisdom on their wall) The Goods was very cutesy and vibrant, the type of coffee shop/donut place that fits in with the carlsbad boutiques! they had a variety of donuts (even gluten free, vegan ones!). I went in to get a fun drink. I ordered an oat milk matcha latte with vanilla, and when i asked for it to be a little sweeter, the staff accommodated. there are tables inside and outside, making it a fun place to lounge. i will def being coming back!

I am a die hard SideCar fan, so I had high expectations coming in...especially with the reviews. The Goods is waking distance from the massage spa we come down to Carlsbad for. I dropped my wife off and decided to take a quick 5 minute stroll with my toddler to donut shop. I was impressed with the variety of donuts and type of donuts they offered. We decided to go with what seemed to be their largest donut (at least from my POV), a good ol Apple Fritter ($6). It was nice and warm when they handed us the fritter. I was again impressed by the size of it. It was well worth the price. Plenty of seating both inside and outside. I kept seeing people constantly coming in and out, and not only for their donuts but for some coffee as well. I plan on venturing out next time and trying one of their other flavorful donuts.

I am sold! I like donuts, but they are usually too sweet and I don't feel very good afterwards. These, however, are amazing! I can't explain how delicious these were. I felt like I was cuddled under a blanket, next to a warm fire, happy, content and relaxed. The flavor is amazing. Not only are the donuts amazing, the people working there are so friendly and positive that you feel, just, at home. Definetely a must check out place. (Better that donut bar, sorry guys.) read more

Totally worth checking out! The inside is trendy and the donuts are top of the line. They serve Stumptown coffee! Which by the way rocks if you haven't had it before. Everyone is friendly each time I have come in. My go-to is a cup of black coffee and the s'mores donut! read more

I take my kids to get donuts every Saturday. It's a tradition we started a couple years ago and now my kids look forward to the one day a week they get this special treat. I live in Encinitas and go to VG's and Leucadia donut shop, but last weekend we visited The Goods. Holy!!! That is a great "doughnut" and the shop itself is so charming. I have found our new spot for our weekly tradition and look forward to trying all of The Goods amazing creations. read more

As soon as I walked in I smell delicious things, I couldn't wait to try.it was clean and bright. I felt super welcomed when I came in. Employees actually looked happy to be working there. As I walked up to the counter to select my doughnut, they were bringing fresh ones out. The employee told me they make the doughnuts fresh every hour. I enjoyed seeing my doughnut getting dressed with the glaze in front of me, in what they call the fish tank. Couldn't help but notice that the guy making the glazes looked like a hot ninja. I ordered the THITIAN vanilla doughnut , simple flavorful, not too sweet, even though I like sweet. I couldn't finish the whole doughnut but my taste buds agree it was worth the $3. Oh, and FYI the seats are more comfortable than the clubs. Its VIP doughnut shop! I will be back:0 I want Bananas on my doughnuts next time!!! read more

This was the best donut shop I have ever been to, no joke. The service was excellent! The husband and wife ownership was amazing , and they were so kind to us. I know I will stop here every time I am in Carlsbad. The Prosecco donut is to die for!!! The aesthetic on the inside of the shop is incredible as well! Getting a box of these donuts and eating them on the beach has been the best part of my trip here to far, 10/10!! read more

The place was completely dead when we went there this morning, a Saturday. The staff was unfriendly, made sure to point out where to leave a tip (I'm normally a large tipper but no smile & tell me to tip is a huge turn off) and the prices high for what you are getting. We got a Nutella & a Vermont maple glaze. The Nutella had barely any filling and was very one note and lacked flavor. The maple glaze had crystallized giving it an odd texture. The maple flavor was also not very pronounced. I gave two stars because the donuts were fresh and they accept card. read more

Yes! It is that good! The doughnut was super fresh and not super sweet, which I prefer. They come out fresh every couple hours so you can't go wrong. Very friendly staff and great to see owner taking his time to talk customers and get feedback. Oh and you have to check out the restroom they put in a pretty cool floor. read more

I went to The Goods to get a gift card for my friends birthday. Everyone was super sweet and the donuts are amazing. I got a flat white and it was good coffee and was actually comparable to flat whites from Australia and Nee Zealand which is something u can't get in the States. I would totally recommend the Smore's donut. It's delicious! Love the location and the shop is cute and elegant too. read more

I wish there was more stars then 5! The decor is amazing but the donuts surpass that. I bought a couple for my coworkers and we split them up. The brown sugar was superb, probably my favorite. Definitely check out The Goods! My favorite was the Nutella-filled doughnut -- what a yummy twist on the classic filled doughnut! I also tried a couple other flavors, and I really liked the base dough b/c it's not oily or too sweet. Actually, I preferred the unglazed donuts b/c that way you can taste the dough more. Also, the workers are incredibly nice! My friends came down from NorCal to visit me as part of their road trip. Since one of my friends is allergic to dairy and eggs, I was excited to have her try The Goods' vegan doughnuts. Unfortunately, we arrived a few minutes after the store closed... but Jareth saw us looking through the window and invited us to come in! He even rearranged the chairs that he had put away so that we could take pictures of the cute decor haha. I'll be back with more friends! read more

Gave it another go only be disappointed again! Stopped in this morning at 10:30am and found extremely slim pickings (just gluten-free) on display. My husband asked a staff member about the browned butter donut and was told they weren't making anymore today. Really? It's a Saturday morning?! Wouldn't this be when you have the most donuts available, especially one of your most popular flavors?! Confused. Ugh. We proceeded to walk over to the small family-owned shop "Super Donut" one street over. We were greeted with friendly service, a huge selection of donuts, and they were $1 per!! That's more like it. read more

The Goods is in a great little spot in Carlsbad with some great looking donuts - I was especially excited about the vegan donuts! While they didn't have the best texture of the vegan donuts I've had (a little cakey for my taste), the flavors were delicious. I would recommend the toasted coconut donut. It helped that the girl behind the counter was super nice and tossed in an extra donut on the house cause some of the icing was smashed up! read more

Went 1/4/19 in the Afternoon. Although pricey, the best maple bacon donut I've ever had. Vanilla, berry filled, and, lemon poppy cake were all good too. Really good service. Will run you around $3 per donut. Worth going again. read more

Worst apple fritter ever. Too cakey, dry, and thick. Definitely not enough apple or glaze. However, the strawberry cheesecake was awesome. It was softer with a lot more flavor. I like how it was a filled round donut. Don't know if that was enough to want me to come back and try other flavors. Probably not. read more

Decades later, our cousins drive them 3 hours to Los Angeles like precious cargo for the family to enjoy when they come to visit. A donut. 3 hours in a car. Still incredible. Some things are just built different. Our cousins are hero's! The incredibly sweet woman behind the counter who helped us with a dessert order for a family dinner for twelve, the sheer beauty and variety of the baked goods in her store, or the 20 amazing cookies we ended up buying. The Carlsbad Bakery has been around for 40+ years specializing in Danish and French pastries, quiche, cupcakes, cakes, and too many eye-popping things to list. We walked over on a Friday and after talking to the proprietor decided that a variety of cookies would be the way to go. What wasn't easy was deciding what type of cookie, because their big chocolate chip, pistachio, almond, cherry, and peanut butter cookies all looked beyond amazing. We decided on a box of 20 mixed cookies ($52.90) and returned the next day to pick them up. My Sweet Lord, the box was as heavy as a bowling ball and was warm with freshly baked cookies. The intoxicating aroma penetrated the carton and filled our hotel room. When they were served at dinner, people's eyes popped out of their heads because they were so gorgeous. I managed to restrain myself and limited my dessert to one pistachio cookie that was fantastic. Of course, all of my cousins wanted to know where we found these amazing cookies. Thank you, Carlsbad Bakery, for such a fantastic customer experience. Your store is beautiful, and your product is extraordinary.

A few minutes later, she finally brought them out. After that, no one checked on our table again. We had to track someone down just to get our bill, and we never saw our original waitress for the rest of our meal. Overall, this was some of the worst service we've experienced. Last time I came here the service was wonderful and the donuts were even better. This time around the service was horrible no one greeted us it was more like we were an inconvenience.. There was a African American man in the area where they decorate the donuts just on his phone not even paying attention to what was happening outside even though there were people in line waiting to get their donuts. Literally felt like my family and we're just an inconvenience to him and to the girl at the register. Love the donuts here! They don't taste oily and they're not too sugary. I think it's more of a gourmet flavor which I love! The service is great too and you don't have to wait forever in line. There isn't alot of seating, but it's ok because we usually take the donuts to go. read more

With only one doorway to enter/exit, it was cramped when people left after paying for their dessert. If someone was in a wheelchair, a lot of movement of the people in line would've had to happen for them to use the ramp walkway and get through the door. Street parking was easy!
