Very nice, I had a lobster bisque to start. They then brought out sorbet, but I did not get a picture of that. After that they brought out my filet mignon which tasted amazing! My baked potato was perfect and my mom had beef tornadoes with roasted baby red potatoes, while my grandfather had a roasted swordfish with langostine thermador sauce . They also brought out an assorted bread basket and to top it off we finished with chocolate lava cake and cheesecake, which I loved. We celebrated our anniversary at the Gourmet Room this year. We had never been & didn't know what to expect. Also, had made reservations for a window table for the river view. I can say after going, there's not a bad seat in the entire restaurant. The ambiance & service is excellent along with the food. We tried the escargot as an appetizer, which is amazing. Our salads, steaks were cooked perfectly & the palate cleanser (sorbet) was yummy. Our servers were fantastic providing any answers & just great personalities making the evening more enjoyable. read more

Visited on 10/06/2022 and had a great waiter possible name of Jorje and we sat in a booth. Service was good.We ordered the seafood carousel for an app. Lobster nuggets and shrimp were great however, there were other items we didn't care for and were misses like seaweed and the oysters....I'm not sure we would order it again. We ordered Ribeye Steaks cooked perfect....Wine list had decent choices...No more happy hour in the bar but still enjoyed our visit there.... read more

Great ambiance. Very classy. Servers dressed up, no tank tops allowed. This is for a nice dinner, no screaming kids in the booth next to you. They brought out a bread bowl with five different kinds and a plate with melted butter patties. We had a grilled chicken and penne dish that came with a side salad. A serving of frozen sherbet to prepare for the main course which came with broccoli and asparagus. It was a classy meal for a special occasion. We'll be returning in the future. read more

Dining here was truly the most magical experience I've ever had at a restaurant. The service was beyond spectacular from the moment we walked in. I called weeks in advance to make a reservation and inquired about getting a window table. He said if there was one available at the time we could get the window table. I was shocked that when we checked in for our reservation, the maitre d not only remembered my request but made it happen. He even carried my drink to the table from the bar, pulled out our chairs, it was fabulous. The food: Shrimp cocktail- AMAZING. So fresh and giant. Frog legs- fantastic! Juicy and a great choice to try for the first time Surf and turf- flawless! Melted in your mouth and the butter for the lobster came with a candle underneath it to keep it hot, amazing. All I have to say is WOW!!!! I have luved here for years and never been there. Went to Rod Stewart concert and dinner at Gourmet Room after. Had the Oysters Rockefeller then the Bleu Cheese crusted Flat Iron steak. Amazing!!! Service was impeccable. The restaurant is so beautiful and reminds me of old Vegas. The river view is so amazing too! Had a nice table right next to window. The place is a little pricey, but not as much as I thought. We had a bottle of wine and their prices are pretty good. So disappointing! Went with friends who have been raving about the restaurant as they have been there often, so we were looking forward to a great dining experience. Ordered the Escargot, our friends said they're delicious...were tasteless and basically tasted like drowned in plain butter and no garlic was detected, tTwo full plates of escargot were returned. Dinner salad was un inspired, just lettuce, sliced onions, couple cherry tomatoes. I ordered Bleu Cheese Flat Iron steak. Was cooked correct (medium) however gristly which seriously detracted from the dish, sauce was very good as was melted Bleu cheese but on a bad cut of steak that didn't really matter. Steak came with strangely seasoned large cauliflower and small scoop of potatoes au gratin. We did enjoy the Chocolate Lava cake and creme Brule and service was excellent. But to pay $150 for a meal for 2 that we only enjoyed wine and dessert is not appropriate. We'll be afraid to try this restaurant again due to the three main parts of the meal that weren't enjoyable. read more

1st time dining here; celebrating 36th yr anniversary. We usually travel with a large crowd, this time it was just us and I remembered to make a reservation in advance; highly recommended. Tom the maitre'd seems a lil short when you call but in person, he is very nice; he's multi-tasking checking people in, getting them seated and making sure others are ok, and making reservations. First impression when you walk in, very intimate, romantic, dim lights, chandeliers, piano music; not a bad seat at any table, all face the river. Next, decisions, decisions on what to eat. I decided to try one of their classics Le Coquilles saint jacque (scallop, shrimp and lobster) w/garden salad and a bowl of lobster bisque. I didn't even ask how they prepared the entree, I let myself be surprised. My husband decided on the ribeye. The garden were a nice portion, house dressing was yummy. The lobster bisque w/Hennessy was rich, creamy, and tasty with big chunks of , not skimpy; it stayed hot 1st to last bite/sipping slurp. I think we were supposed to get bread but weren't brought any; it was ok, didn't want to get full on that any way. After the salad and soup, we were served a small scoop of lemon sorbet with a sprig of mint to cleanse our palates, very refreshing. When my entree came, it actually looked like 2 pot pies; no crust; the seafood was in a white cream sauce served on mashed potatoes shaped like a crust, the scalloped edges were roasted and crunchy. Tasty, rich and the seafood chunks were big! Very filling, I was full after the 1st, struggled with the 2nd one, but ate the most important parts the seafood chunks . My husband's ribeye covered 3/4 of his plate, had a nice smoky flavor, was very good (but said he's had better and more tender; maybe it was their cut?). We were absolutely so full though, no room for dessert; maybe next time. Our server John and Mario were very attentive. Service is top notch. Will definitely return to try other entrees. This is a happy hour review. First, I want say...the service was outstanding. The food and drinks were really good and a great value. This is where the restaurant failed on such a miserable level. A woman brought in a dog...yes a dog into the bar. Service dog? If I had to guess I would say not, just by appearance. Sanitary? NO! The dog was being fed chex mix that was on the table, for humans by the way, while a very high class customer base had to look on. The dog was allowed to lap water out of a glass...on the table.....health standards Gourmet Room! My husband and I were mortified and continue to watch animals at an alarming rate to be in places they do not belong. Even if this was a service dog...it should NOT be allowed to eat in a restaurant. It is a shame the clientele had to observe this in supposedly the best and classiest place in town. Please control your guests so no one will ever have to deal with this again. The Riverside Resort is indeed a 3 star resort/hotel at best, but the Gourmet Room is worth all 5 stars and more! I have been a returning hotel guest for over a decade, visiting a few times a year for different vacations. Only in the last 3 years, have I had the extreme pleasure of patronizing this superb establishment during my visits. I really had been missing out all those previous years! I don't think I can do a better job in writing an eloquent, well thought review as Dennis did, in November 2011. Please, read his review for the most accurate account of this fine dining restaurant. As for my own dining experiences, the restaurant is in a class of it's own. A rare find in the town of Laughlin, commonly known as "the poor man's Vegas". The Gourmet Room whisks you away from the gambling town's inundation of casino noise, heavy smoke and crowds. The restaurant takes you back to an earlier era of exquisitely dressed staff in black tie wear, a live piano player, ornate damask wallpaper, intricate crown moldings, dimly lit glass chandeliers over elegant place settings, on crisp white linen and candlelit tables, all while enjoying an uninhibited view of the Colorado river and impeccable 5 star dining. It is a pleasurable overload for all human senses. I should preface that I am a vegetarian, and the Gourmet Room is a french cuisine restaurant. This translates to a very meat based menu, with few options on paper for my diet. However, with the chef's willingness to create a customized entree, I enjoy a fantastic dinner without feeling at all deprived. On my last April 2012 visit, I began my evening with an order of the cheese plate appetizer. It was a welcomed introduction, which I thoroughly enjoyed with a glass of fine chardonnay. The perfect accompaniment to the scrumptious variety of fresh bread choices brought to the table. The chefs are skilled in producing delicious meals for those of us that do not eat meat. I believe I am a small percentage of diners with a vegetarian diet at this establishment. The standardized menu reflects as such. However, my attentive waiter (whom I am embarrassed I can not recall his name), reassured me that the chef could create a wonderful meal for my dietary restrictions. I had an incredible linguine dish in a flavorful but light cream sauce tossed with fresh and delicious petite veggies. It was unlike anything I had experienced, a perfect balance of taste and flavor. The Bananas Foster dessert cooked table-side is a sight to relish, and can't describe how phenomenon this dish tastes. I highly recommend you try it for yourself, it won't disappoint! But, do not take my word for it, please go experience the Gourmet Room to appreciate all this restaurant has to offer! As a footnote, If you are visiting Laughlin and did not pack "dressy" clothing, do not be overly concerned. I enjoy dressing to the "nines", as appropriate for this fine dining occasion. But, you may choose a more casual dress if desired or lacking more formal clothes. You will not be the only party dressed as such ;-) read more

We enjoyed our food and the service was the best. This place is super elegant, seating with a beautiful view of the Colorado river, and the ambiance was absolutely unforgettable. Gonna be honest here. I'm from LA and the food in Arizona is actual garbage compared to stuff here but we're in town visiting my grandma and this place had the best reviews around. Food was mediocre at best. The locals we were with thought it was good so they have that going for them at least. That's about it though... Soggy as hell caesar salad that they wanted to charge me 10 dollars for as an "ala carte" without saying anything when it was ordered and then was UNBELIEVABLY rude when we asked about it and acted like we were uncultured because we were unaware of this. One thing to note homies you are NOT a 5 star gourmet restaurant no matter how much you think you are. If you were you would be able to train your servers to treat their guests with respect unlike our server John who additionally left a cart of dirty dishes near our table the entire night, messed up a coffee & dessert order, and you guys would know the correct way to set a table. We arrived in town for me to meet the girlfriend's parents for the first time, but traffic was lousy on the 15 North so we postponed the meeting to the next day. She brought me here for dinner citing the view of the Colorado River as the compelling reason. I was pretty famished so I was prepared to eat anywhere. We end up liking the food and the service. I had the shrimp linguine and she had the steaks. And she was right, the view of the river was pleasant. The immediate negative is that even though this restaurant is nice, it is located in a crappy old casino. It presents as more rundown than the ones in DT Las Vegas. read more
