Dined here for brunch with some friends on a Sunday. The restaurant itself is very pretty and spacious. They have a bottomless deal for an additional $25 with the purchase of a brunch entree and drinks include mimosas, Bellini, sangria frose and pina coladas. We decided to get a fruit platter to share and unfortunately the platter they handed us had mold on the blueberries. We told our waitress and she took it back and brought a new one. For entree we ended up waiting a while to place our order and I had to flag our waitress down so we can order. We decided on the eggs Benedict a halloumi sandwich with fries and the shrimp Caesar salad. The entrees were delicious and well portioned. For drinks we got Bellini and when I wanted to switch to a frose or pina colada they were unfortunately out. I did end up trying the white sangria and it was light crisp and refreshing definitely my favorite. Since I had Yelp I saw that if you check in you are able to enjoy a free dessert so we opted for a Nutella crepe which was delicious and full of strawberries. Great restaurant and great food! The restaurant offers both inside and outside seating with the hostess being located outside. The inside was decorated nicely in theme with the season. The service was quick and the server waiting on my table checked in constantly. The food was greatly seasoned and came with the accommodations asked for. read more

Personally I thought the food was okay but nothing that great. I love brunch, it's my favorite meal of the day but I felt that even though the actual restaurant was super aesthetic and cute, the food didn't meet my expectations. The potatoes seems under seasons and I normally like my potatoes crispier but these were not even close. I also was not a huge fan of the eggs Benedict. Do not sleep on The Grand! I cannot believe I've lived here this long and haven't been here. The food is so good and Greek--where could you go wrong? Instead of toast, they serve pita which is such an underrated change of typical American breakfast. I had the Mediterranean omelette with dill and do not forget to get their iced whipped coffee from the coffee bar. Service was great and the atmosphere was perfect for a weekend breakfast hangout. The Grand Mistake. Bad service- don't expect waiters/staff to check in on you/ask if you another drink. Waited 30 mins after finishing a beer to finally just ask for the check. Mediocre at best food- they don't mix their salad dressing. Got a salad that tasted like straight vinegar. I only ate the protein off the top. When I finally flagged down our waitress, she told me it was MY fault the food was bad "you should have called me over before"...where were you then? The feeling of sitting outside in the dazzling lights and gentle breeze is other worldly. Thats exactly what it feels like to dine out here. Pair that with their delicious food and great looking drinks, you got yourself a solid date night. Which is exactly what my girlfriend and I did to celebrate my new job. Started with the mac and cheese balls which weren't too bad. I didn't realize there were truffles as i'm not exactly a fan. My girlfriend gobbled it right up. I then got the stir fry chicken and she got the pesto chicken. Quite fulfilling, don't let the average portion sizes trick you. Only "downside" was that it was quite busy and we only saw our waiter once to order and then once again essentially to get our check. Sweet, corner spot full of people with their own little scene. Ages varied in this bar on a sultry Saturday evening but the energy was high and fun. The music was top 40 with some hip hop/pop that kept the energy moving. Most people were chair dancing with an occasional two stepper so dont expect a club dance scene. Drinks are delicious and well crafted. We were not there for food but plenty of folks were enjoying their dining experience. The Grand is great for a group or a fun date. Plenty of patrons looked like they were regulars and the bar and wait staff made us feel welcome. I'd definitely give this place another whirl. Outside seating was well put together, but we opted for seating indoors. The decor was nice, the place is clean and well spaced out. Prices were decent and service was attentive. The grand is always a go-to, especially their brunch. Came here a couple Sunday's ago. I'm more or less a regular. Service was slow this day, nothing too outstanding. We had to wait on our waitress to pass in order to get her attention. The food was good, as always and the unlimited mimosas always are a hit for me. Music was good and the environment was balanced; I like that during the warmer months they open their dividers to the outside area. Items ordered were delivered to the table in reasonable time. Went in for brunch. Closer to noon. Place wasn't too busy, but you can feel the hustle and bustle of this very busy section of town. A bit noisy for my liking. At this time, said our waitress, they do NOT serve coffee with refills (like any diner would all day). Also, all our meals were served with pita bread... we were not given choice of toast, etc. Being that it was a pretty warm day, the glass doors were removed allowing full access into 30th ave. A star for the service. The food was bad. Not only cold but dry. For what it is worth very much disappointed. The homemade potatoes very cold and not well made. The pancakes and waffles were dry. My mother ordered steak and eggs medium rare it was well done, dry and overcooked. The chicken from the chciken and waffles was dry. The Crestk sandwich was alrught the french toast was just too sweet. And the carnitas from the breakfast tostadas the seasoning was just not appealing. the bill came out too 284 almost 300 for seven people which isnt as bad but its disappointing since the food wasnt good. Usually one is happy even if the price is up because as long as the food is good it doesnt matter but this was not the case. and reading most reviews that are good its suprising maybe because they were so busy for Easter it wasnt a good day for them. Too many great memories at Grand. Their coffees are great and so are their food menu items. But, I honestly can't remember having drinks here because it most likely ended up too great to remember. For basic brunch, this is a fun spot! I came on a Saturday with my girlfriends and without reservations, at 1:30PM, we only waited like 5-10 minutes. Once we were seated, because it was peak brunch time, it took a while for our orders to be taken--which was totally fine! We ended up ordering: - The Grand BEC ($15): two eggs, bacon, cheddar, chipotle aioli, Kaiser roll, and fries -- This dish was okay, tbh, filling, but nothing special - Chicken and waffles ($21) -- My friend said the chicken was fine, but unseasoned - Two Eggs any style + Turkey sausage ($18) -- This is a staple at a diner (because we all their generous portions), not a brunch spot, so this was my mistake -- not worth the $18 Two of us also partook in the $25 unlimited brunch which really meant 1 entree and unlimited drinks: - Mimosa - Bellini - Bloody Mary - Sangria - Frosé (not available when we went) - Piña Colada (not available when we went) To make your $25 worth it, you need at least 3 drinks, as each drink is ~$12. I got 2 white sangrias and 1 mimosa! The glasses are pretty big and the mimosas weren't in a flute, so I was very happy. Overall, if I had to do basic brunch again, I'd come back here! The Grand is a staple in Astoria and rightfully so. I had gone to Maiella for dinner prior and was left dissatisfied and hungry so my friend recommended The Grand. Luckily it was much better. It seemed pretty crowded on the inside as it was chilly outside. The indoor seating looked cute, and once it's more COVID safe to eat inside, I may try brunch once more seating indoors. I must say that I was surprised by the overall rating as we truly enjoyed everything about our brunch experience here. Pros: - Great outdoor seating area with an automatic shade for when the sun gets a bit too intense. - Good music. Since we sat outside the food wasn't blasting and it was exactly what I'd expect from and Astoria brunch spot. - Food was excellent. The food came out relatively quick, and was very filling -- both my friend and I only finished up half of our portions and had to pack the rest to go. I had no idea Astoria had some cute brunch spots! I came here on a Saturday and it was a vibe. The music, the food, the quick service was great. I used to frequent this place a lot, that's until today. Always went there, always left big tips to the servers but I am tired of some of the waitresses asking me if I want any change back, I pay for a coffee and whether I pay with a $20 or a $100 they still ask me if I want any change back, that's very low class. Today I went there, ordered a coffee and waited for 15 minutes, meanwhile the waitress that took my order was standing by the next table talking and gossiping with a person that was sitting there and when I asked her: Is my coffee ready? Her response to me was: I DON'T LIKE THIS ATTITUDE !!! I told her what attitude? I just want my coffee so I can drink it and go about my business, and instead of apologizing and bringing my coffee she insisted that I have an attitude problem, then I asked her to send the manager over but instead she sent the guy that makes the coffee behind the counter who came over and lied to me that the owner wasn't there and he was there instead. Meanwhile the owner was there and he himself came to apologize as I was leaving. There are hundreds of cafe restaurants everywhere, I don't have to go to a place that I am not appreciated and the waitress is telling me that I have an attitude problem when I ask for my coffee after 15 minutes in a slow afternoon but she never fails to ask me if I want change back from $100 for a coffee. The owners should really take another look at who they are hiring. I would give this place half a star if I could, this used to be a good place with good food, I don't know what happened and why the owners would hire such incapable personnel. This place was one of the best places in Astoria with good food but if you are looking for a place to enjoy your drink and food and be appreciated as a customer look elsewhere, this is not the place. I even feel bad for writing this review because the owner is a very nice man and a gentleman but he should really take another look at what's happening in his business. Back in town for a wedding and came here this morning with my family for bring. We were able to get a table outside right away and it was gorgeous out. We ordered some mocktails and spanakopita to start. I got the mango peach mocktail and it was crisp and refreshing. Our table preferred it to the ginger lemonade. The spanakopita was a massive slice but it was mostly dough on the one side that was tough to chew. The main part of it with the spinach and cheese was good. I ordered the 2 eggs breakfast with home fries. I asked for the eggs to be over medium and they came out completely cooked through and more like hard boiled egg consistency. The 4 pieces of toast were cold and hard. The only saving grace of the dish was the potatoes. Well seasoned and crisp outside with a soft center. Cousin got the salmon Benedict. Beware. They charge 7 extra bucks to add it to the already pricy dish. The eggs were poached well and the hollandaise sauce was amazing according to her. My other cousin got the breakfast burrito. It was massive and packed full with eggs and peppers and onions. It was a hefty portion and he couldn't finish it but it makes for great leftovers. For the prices, it was just ok for me. My cousins enjoyed their meals well enough but I was pretty disappointed with how mine came out. Brunch on a Monday seems right. It was an MLK Monday and was granted an extra day for a weekend redo. Getting out of Manhattan to enjoy a Queens day brunch always excites me because it's more reasonably priced and there's more unique food and drinks options than the usual items. Waffles were my main target because I don't have access to a waffle maker and needed to have that fluffy square shaped crispiness hit my taste buds. So golden and delectable that I kept cutting and munching in a repetitive routine. Plus the side of Nutella chocolate sauce and syrup was a nice touch - even fruits in chocolate sauce was a wonderful touch. My Greek sausages on the side were very savory with a kick of peppercorn and their unique marinade flavor is spot on. This is why I come to Astoria for any food experience. Even my grapefruit cocktail was refreshing and simple for a one drink brunch buzz. The only deduction comes from the table size for a party of two. We did get the lounge couches for brunch but the size of the table is as small as a side table piece you would use in a living room. The giant plates made it hard to fit everything on the table, luckily we ate quickly so they can remove the plates in a steady fashion. Bottomless brunch would work for me but this was a casual catch up and I didn't feel like having a chug contest that peaceful afternoon. This place is a classic Italian / American brunch place but it is a very cute and decorative type of place you can bring guys and girls to. My friends & I stopped by on a Saturday night after looking for a place to eat in Astoria. The service was amazing! The hostess seated us right away and the waitress was very attentive. To start off I had a Don Julio Margarita, it was delicious! I could definitely taste the tequila and fresh lime. My friends had a Paloma and espresso martini which they both enjoyed. For my entree I choose the crispy chicken sandwich with no cheese and bacon. They accommodated my requests with no issues. My friends got the lemon pepper wings & the steak sandwich. They both raved about their food. The portions are definitely good for the price. They also come around and do pictures. I think it's so nice that they give you a free post card. The music was also very good! The DJ played all types of music ranging from Taylor Swift to Burna Boy and everything in between. I would definitely recommend for a place to grab food and drinks! Hosted my mom's 50th birthday brunch this month at The Grand. We had such a great experience! Thanasi was so helpful and communicative from the moment I reached out to inquire about having the event here until the day of! The entire staff was so attentive and went above and beyond to make my mom's birthday celebration a success! Our servers were absolutely amazing and so accommodating. They even saved us the top of my mom's cake for us, which was so thoughtful. We had a pretty large group and I know things can get crazy but everything went so smoothly!
