We've eaten here a couple times since it reopened with a new theme. The food and drinks have been very good, except for today. We had a table of 10 this morning, and our waitress was nowhere to be seen numerous times throughout the meal. We had to flag her down. Several dishes came out less than warm, and had to be returned. My wife ordered the avocado toast grilled cheese, and there was barely any cheese on it. At the end of the meal, I ordered coffee, and it came out lukewarm at best. I had to have a busman take it back, and even the second time it was not very hot. Before the change into its current iteration, the things that put us off were terrible service and lack of consistency in food. Hopefully this isn't a return to the "old days". read more

I've been to the Granola Bar a couple of times -- once on my way to work and the other with family. The time I went myself I got the avocado grilled cheese which I thought was very tasty and tasted fresh. The second time I went, I got the Avocado Toast which was disappointing. 1 piece of toast for $8 is a bit crazy (when this avocado toast was purely avocado mashed up without any seasoning). I found that both times either it took awhile to be seated or take the food to go (for different reasons) but still....we ended up waiting awhile for food that should be ready in 5-10 minutes. The one thing that kind of bugged me the second time I was there was how gross the bathrooms were. They were really dirty and not kept up at all. I would highly advise management to clean their bathrooms especially during crowded times. I may or may not come back. If I do, I definitely would do take-out like my first visit and would come very early in the AM like I initially did. read more

Well I came in a bit before noon on a Friday alone. I sat at the bar and waited a good 10 minutes before a waitress came with water and a menu. Okay. My husband and I have been coming here since they open and it took me this long to write a review because we wanted to give it a chance since they are nearby and the food is good. No complaints about the food but the staff just doesn't care about its customers. Today is the last time we will be going in. We sat at the counter as we always do them waited 8 mins for menus, when it wasn't crowded. No one even acknowledged that we were sitting there. When the menus finally came, we told him we already knew what we wanted to order. He then got his iPad like he was gonna take our order but instead answered the phone then helped a customer who came to the register, made a coffee then walked away from behind the counter. Usually every time i eat here it is good. this time my friends and i were not happy. after an hour of waiting, we were seated at the bar when there were clearly tables open. we were also told that the table for four(we were three) was supposed to only seat four. after another 30 mins of waiting for our food, three adults (we are young teens) came in and were seated at the table we were told not to go to. this same thing happened another time over the course of our meal. then i was told the frozen yogurt machine was not working as my friend's food was coming out. then i had to wait another 15 minutes for my food to come. we were not given napkins or silverware and were not checked on once. The only good thing about the experience was the food. this restaurant can be kind of hit or miss especially if it is busy ( it usually is). read more

If you're looking for a new brunch spot, look no further. The coffee and smoothies are fantastic along with their variety of healthy and/or sweet breakfast and lunch options. I loved their breakfast burrito, everything was so fresh and delicious. The service was fantastic, everything arrived timely and their table setting was great. I love when a restaurant puts a napkin UNDER your napkin wrapped silverware and they served waters to the table without asking for them which doesn't always happen. 10/10 brunch spot and great for children too! read more

I frequently go to the Rye location so this feedback is specifically for Rye. Please, when a customer orders food/drinks through the app for pick up, the order should be put out on the designated take out shelves!!! Today I had to wait in line just to get my order which I could see in plain view that it was ready! By having to wait in line it takes the convinance of ordering online. Parking is really tough in that area so I usually have to double park and I'm in a rush because I do not want a ticket. read more

Second time at this place. First time was for breakfast & I got an egg white/spinach wrap to go. It was okay. Very watery. The spinach was watery so the wrap was very soggy. Just ordered the Bubby ... your typical salmon on a bagel. Very, very little cream cheese & very little salmon. The salmon was brown on the edges. I should have taken a photo before posting but I asked to have it taken away. A young guy came to my table after I pointed out how fresh salmon isn't supposed to have parts of it that are brown & he just stares at me. I had to explain that salmon is not supposed to be brown. It's supposed to be all orange etc. What fresh salmon looks like. He still just stared so I had to make the point that had I eaten that salmon I would have had food poisoning. Common sense from the kitchen would dictate that you don't serve salmon that is partially brown. The manager (not even sure who he was because he didn't introduce himself) tried to tell me it was the skin but it wasn't the skin it was individual pieces of salmon with the ends being brown (meaning it was going bad). This place is nice & the menu looks good but I posted this because the guy who came to my table just stared with a blank expression rather than saying 'you're right. Our apologies. Fresh salmon isn't supposed to be partially brown.' Even as I explained that if I had eaten it I could have potentially had food poisoning, the guy just stared. This place is AWESOME! My boyfriend and I were craving some breakfast but nothing too heavy before golf in the early afternoon. We ordered online ahead of time and it was very easy! My order was ready for me right when I walked in. Unfortunately due to my clumsy nature, as I was leaving, I dropped my "the Shrek" smoothie and made a gigantic mess in their restaurant. I felt terribly and was insistent that I help clean it up, but the workers there were insistent that they had it handled and not to worry. I felt/feel terrible that I was so clumsy and dumped an entire smoothie, but the girls there immediately asked me what my order was and remade my smoothie to perfection along with making me feel less bad about it! They were so kind, understanding, and helpful! I have worked in a restaurant and I know how frustrating a gigantic spill like that can be, so I appreciate their amazing customer service so deeply. Stopped here after a long flight back to the US. We were in need of good coffee as we made the 3 hour drive back home. I found The Granola Bar on Yelp and since it was not far off the highway we decided to try it. The coffee was excellent. The breakfast was delicious. Read your receipts before paying!! The menu doesn't offer different sizes for teas and lattes. However, when I received the bill, I was charged an extra $0.50 for a "large". I looked around the place and didn't see any other sizes so I asked the waiter about the charge and he said something to effect of charging extra for large drinks. I pointed out to him that there was no other option on the menu so why then would I be charged extra for something that was decided for me. He graciously took it off my bill but I found that to be quite shady. The food was good but it was served on a wet plate. I needed an extra small plate for something ... again the plate was wet... like the entire plate. I had to ask that it be dried before it came back to the table. Something else that I didn't like (and this might be a pet peeve of mine) is when waiters assume you're done and just drop the check. The waiter did that and I had to inform him that I wasn't done. So then he had to take it back and add items after I was eventually done. The food is good but overall it's not enough for me to ever go back or recommend this place. Came here in a whim because I was early for a session. I always heard about the hype so I figure I would give it a try. I wanted something basic and simple because I wasn't starving so, I went over to check out the yogurt parfaits. I picked up one (I believe it was the Crunchy Elvis) and double checked the expiration date which showed it had expired the day before. This happens so I would have just let that slide but I picked up about 5-6 more and they were all expired! Some even two days old. Dairy is something that should be constantly restocked. I said to myself let me just order upfront then. I ordered a Crunchy Elvis and avocado toast to stay because I had 40 minutes to kill. Very pricey for something that should not cost more than $15. It had been 30 minutes and my order still did not arrive. I couldn't believe something so simple could take so long especially since it was not crazy packed. I asked one of the girls up front, it appeared to a hostess, and one of them pointed to the register and said "you should talk to them" (lol). Very unnecessarily rude. I have worked in a very upscale restaurant and everyone worked as a team so I found that odd when I had asked something so customary and minimal. I would absolutely not point in a direction to ask for help. I was very annoyed and taken back to say the least. I literally laughed after she said that. I have been 3 times - 2 times dining in and 1 time picking up coffee. Unfortunately, all 3 experiences were not great, which is a huge disappointment since an establishment like this is much needed. The first time with 4 ladies for breakfast -- it took 15+ minutes to receive coffee in a not crowded place, and 45+ minutes for our food to arrive. I chalk that up as working out the kinks. The 2nd time my husband and I stopped in for 2 turkish coffees to go and it took 16 minute to get them. The third time my husband had the avocado toast (zero flavor and the toast was cold) and I ordered a granola parfait with honey -- the honey was literally exploding out of the top all over the table. I asked for a bowl and the waitress was super annoyed. Much of the staff acts like they really would rather be someplace else. On my way out we saw 2 friends that arrived prior to us, and their food had not even arrived and their 1st sentence to us was "isn't this place a dissapointment." I plan to return in hopes the kinks are worked out and I think the place has huge potential with proper training, but I do know lots of people have already written it off. Bummer.
