Another great experience with The Green Plumber. We just moved in to a new house and are quickly discovering all the quirks of the house, which was built in 1939. My problem this time was relatively minor, my dishwasher wasn't draining properly and an old water filtration system was leaking just a little. Paul called me when he was on his way, showed up right on time and assessed the problems. He quickly fixed the problem with the dishwasher, but the issue with the filtration system was a little more complex. If the Greeks had plumbing, Timothy would have been their God. While our plumbing issue wasn't major in terms of the causation, it was major due to the impact on our lives. Timothy went out of his way to come help us, literally. He was super nice, he didn't mind the young kids and dogs running around, and was amazingly and reasonably priced. I have seriously told everyone in Long Beach that I know, that owns their own place, to call him should they have any plumbing issues. Paul was awesome and this company is great! They are kind, considerate, reasonably priced, and they are both good guys. Paul brought booties to wear over his shoes, and did a great job! He explained to me what the deal was with our funky Island sink (we've always had drainage issues), and showed me the totally rusted interior of my old garbage disposal. The new one is a professional grade one and is stainless steel, so less likely to rust. He was very careful when he worked, and left my kitchen spotless. :) I noticed that he worked meticulously and centered the wording on the bit that sits in the sink. Talk about persistent. Timothy, The Green Plumber, will stick with you until your plumbing situation is better than before you even had a problem! Not only that, he's extremely respectful of your time and property. I've dealt with a handful of plumbers in Long Beach and none of them compare. I called Timothy about a pesky water heater and not only did he respond quickly, but he also convinced the manufacturer to send a new control panel - overnight - at no cost to me, even though the unit was out of warranty. It's no surprise that the crappy Home Depot fixtures installed by the previous home owner are in need of fixes or replacement. GREAT SERVICE! Unlike many of the plumbers who I have dealt with in the past (rude and impatient), Timothy was very friendly and took care of my long beach rental condo problem in a timely matter. What impressed me more was that Tim was also very helpful several months after the job when I decided to re-gather all the works that had been done to the condo in the past year for my taxes, and Joe was patient enough to look up all the information for me and sent them to me ... also in a timely matter. So we woke up with the kitchen sink clogged with grease and dirt coming up from the pipe :-( I tried to plunge it but that was just making it worse. Our property manager refuses to handle plumbing issues so after multiple episodes of Drain-O and a frustrating 24 hours of our bathtub being clogged, we called The Green Plumber on a Friday morning, he called back and arrived at our apartment within the hour. Not only did he promptly handle the clog but he fixed the waste and overflow drain (which was apparently upside down), gave us a screen that actually fit ($6) and threw in another screen for our sink. He also wrote a detailed invoice with recommendations for us to provide to our property manager (CYA for us). Nice guy, obvious hard worker, attention to detail (like putting on booties over his shoes before entering our apartment), and great professionalism. Awesome!!! read more

Timothy called me on 9/26/16 to apologize and explain that there was a serious illness in his family, so I understand the non-response (see my earlier post below). Thanks for calling me. If you haven't already done so, I recommend that you forward your calls & emails to Paul if you are not available. Timothy and Paul have done several jobs at my home during the last 5 years or more and have been excellent. However, I need a new kitchen sink, faucet, and water filter installed, and I have left several messages and sent emails over the last 3 weeks and nobody has returned my calls/emails. Timothy - I see that you replied to someone else's Yelp review during that time, so I decided to try this review to see if you would respond to me. If you are ill, I understand. Great experience! The best communication I have ever had with a service issue! They called or sent a text with ETA and were on time! I had opportunity to meet three members of their team (Timothy, Norm and Paul) and they were all friendly, courteous and respectful (even applying booties before coming into the house). Initially I called on Thursday morning for an issue with our tankless water heater. Timothy was able to come that afternoon to assess the situation and provide a manual override so that we would have hot water consistently while awaiting tech support from the manufacturer. He returned the following morning (no extra charge) with Norm and they were able to get the problem diagnosed and ordered parts from the manufacturer (which was a miracle in my opinion since the unit was 9 years old). The costs and the work involved were made clearly presented. I truly felt that I was getting the service that was needed as well as some suggestions for the future to improve this interesting previous DIY installation to prevent additional problems. The part arrived the following day (Saturday delivery) and Paul was here to complete the repair Monday morning. Even though it took 3 visits (due to the brand of my water heater and manufacturer tech support hours), I was never out of hot water. A situation much appreciated my the household. All is functioning as it should be and I am very pleased not only with the repair, but The Green Plumber in general. I highly recommend them for your plumbing needs. read more

Broken shower head..yep....that means baths until this is fixed. I dont like baths.....I digress....I tried fixing it myself but the pipe wouldnt budge and I thought "if this pipe breaks in the wall, Im screwed"...off to YELP I went looking for a good plumber, local, and a great rate. This guy shows up on time, as promised, wears booties to protect my floors (not sure what he was standing in but it couldnt have been good) and finished the job is about 15 seconds. Having the right tools makes a difference. He then went the extra step and got my broken sink stop repaired under warranty from Kohler....and showed me how to replace the part that he ordered, free, when it shows up! He gets 5 stars only cause 6 arent available. A reliable contractor/plumber with a great attitude. read more

I am an office and facilities manager for a medium sized company. We recently had an issue with a drinking fountain on one of our floors, where the unit was dispensing cloudy water. When searching for a plumber to use, I noticed his outstanding reviews here and decided to give him a shot. Of course, like trying to show your auto mechanic the odd noise your car has been making, the water was coming out clear when Timothy arrived to work on it. He preformed some basic inspections of both the water and the drinking fountain, and shared with me some possible causes for the cloudy water we had been experiencing. One of them was a hit (our building had recently shut off the water pumps for some work, which is known to occasionally cause debris to dislodge in the pipes), and it was nice to have an idea of what had caused it and what to check for if it happens again. He took note of the make and model of the drinking fountain, and contacted the company to acquire a list of all possible causes for the unit dispensing cloudy water - which he then emailed to me for future reference. He treated the whole thing like a courtesy call, and didn't bill me for any of it. I was really impressed by the extra work he put in by contacting the company to collect information for me - all on a courtesy call. I am glad I decided to give Timothy a shot, and would defiantly recommend his service to anyone looking for a plumber. He was prompt, personable, and thorough. 5 stars, all the way. read more

Timothy is very professional and will go out of his way to fix your problem currently and make sure that you are happy client. Last week, I woke up at about 5 a.m. to begin my day. I went downstairs, fed the dogs and washed my hands in the bathroom sink downstairs. Ok a little too much information but I am trying to set the scene. About five minutes later, I hear a noise which sounds like a generator running. Because I do not have generator, I immediately know there is a problem. The noise is loudest in the bathroom and it sounds like the pipes are about to come out of the wall. it is so loud it woke my wife from her peaceful slumber. We called Timothy at The Green Plumber. He explained that he was really booked up today but was very accommodating and personally came out to our house. He figured out the problem (a valve) and came back out later and made the repair. I know it was not convenient for him to work us into his day. I am very grateful that he not only made the time for us but did not try to charge us a bazillion dollars for the repair. Like a lot of people, I don't know anything about plumbing. It would have been an opportune time for someone to take advantage of a situation and charge me a fortune. I am so pleased with Tim the Green Plumber! I can not recommend him highly enough. I bought a 1926 home with a heater in it from the 1940's that had ceased to work. Three differrent people came out and looked at it, and could not repair it. One informed me that it could not possibly be repaired and tried to talk me into a 6 thousand dollar upgrade to central heat. Thank God a friend called her handyman, who came out and looked at it, could not fix it, and referred me to The Green Plumber. It was a big job and we had to schedule the work in advance due to the time involved. The poor heater needed fixing at several points, it was covered with dog hair from the messy previous owner, and the wiring was crossed with wiring from a sound system (which also doesn't work.) The job took all day and into the evening, and he had to acquire the help of his colleague, Tom, who was also brilliant. My heater is now purring like a kitten. I was so happy to get heat in this old house that I gave him a hug. It was 37 degrees at night for two nights in a row in the LBC and my night water almost froze! I highly recommend Tim for anyone who has a historic house with antiquated appliances. Don't upgrade! Repair your original pieces and keep your home in its special vintage state. In addition, the job came in two hundred dollars under the estimation. I'm a fan. read more

AVOID THIS PLUMBER IF YOU CAN! I received a notice from the water company that stated a large leak was coming from my rental property. So I called around based on the reviews on yelp and one of them was "The Green Plumber". I spoke to Timothy and he informed me that he was able to come out the same day to hopefully locate the leak. When he arrived he stated that the main valve was not working properly and the sprinkler did not have a shutoff valve. He advised me to replace the valve and install another one for the sprinkler, which will help him locate the leak. He also stated that the price included a leak detection, which I thought was a great deal. I agreed with the job and Timothy came out the next day. Upon completing the repairs he only could guess where the leak was and also suggested that a 4 foot section of a drain pipe will have to be replaced due to a rusted pipe. Timothy stated that the leak will be located once he comes back to fix the rusted pipe. I said ok but please provide me a quote. He agreed to go over the numbers and get back to me the next day. I waited until mid day to call him and he never called me back or texted me back. Unless you want a flaky plumber with empty promises go with The Green Plumber. Additionally, he said he left a receipt with the tenant, which he never did. He just charged me and went on his way. Will be looking to file a complaint to BBB. Note that the repair was scheduled around 11-2 pm and he didn't show up until close to 5pm. I tried calling him but his excuse was that his phone had a virus...really? If the company is reading this I have the text messages to prove it and the tenant to back this claim. read more

We have used Timothy twice and could not be more pleased. He has done fantastic work. Both jobs dealt with roof drainage. Our first job was time sensitive. We were having our roof replaced and needed a larger drain installed. Timothy came out very quickly, assessed our problem and gave us a written estimate. He found the appropriate part on short notice and stayed until 10:00pm to ensure that the drain was in place before the roofers arrived. He really went above and beyond our expectations. Our second job dealt with the drain running from the house to the street. When asked, Timothy offered us numerous environmentally friendly solutions to our problem and completed a job that required excavating the old pipe from under our house in one day. These guys saved me! My regular plumber was too busy to assist so I was a bit stressed. My rental had a leak in the ceiling so I checked for highly rated plumbers in Long Beach. After not being able to reach a company that was able to get out quickly, Timothy Answered the phone and said he could be to the property within one hour. He talked my tenant into getting the water shut off over the phone to avoid more damage. The ceiling was opened; repairs were recommended over the phone and after approval, he got started. After a new section of pipe was installed and the drywall was patched, all is well. Not inexpensive, but it was a very fair price for such quick service and quality work. I was really impressed with Tim's communication. After he inspected the problem, he texted me pictures. During the repair he sent progress shots and of course completed pix! Since I don't live next to my rental, this extra step really helped me feel secure with the entire process. Timothy even provided a 2 year warranty on the work he performed!! I looked up plumber in my area, TGP showed up with high ranks - I gave them a call Friday evening. My most recent situation involved a broken sewage pipe under my house. It was a disgusting mess but Timothy handled everything like a champ and a true professional. I had additional work done on the house and used Timothy's services again. He is busy these days (probably due to his good reviews) and between his schedule and mine not working out things drug out a bit. While we were going back and forth on a date that worked for both of us, my water heater finally gave up. When I called Timothy he somehow re-arranged his schedule and had a crew out right away for an all day job. There were a few things that were not as great as they could have been, but he sent his tech Paul out a few days later to clean them up (and to be fair not all the issues were their fault). Paul even helped with an issue completely unrelated to the water heater, and charged nothing for the half-day's work. I called Timothy regarding sink that was draining very slowly. Tim answered the phone and was very accessible as opposed to getting an answering machine, and waiting a few hours to get a call back. He also scheduled the appointment quickly, and was early! That is rare these days! I was not able to be there when the work was done, but I was told that he was early, courteous, worked quickly to solve the problem, and was conscientious about wearing shoe booties and left the bathroom clean.
