I went in for an interview today and decided to reward myself with pizza I'm still trying out all the top pizza spots in AZ and everything has been so good, it's been a tough choice! I found this place as a backup because one of the recommended places to me didn't serve pizza (yet) This place was a little pricey but it definitely wasn't a disappointment especially during Happy Hour! We enjoyed a delicious assortment of their menu last evening. We were fortunate to get a charming young man as our waiter once again. I think his name is Wes. Skilled, attentive and top of his game! We were planning on patio seating, but it was just too warm to fully enjoy a meal, so we opted for indoor seating. Really, the only negative comment I have is the noise level of the interior of the restaurant. To be quite honest, it was deafening. Wes said the owners have tried noise abatement, but I think they need to review this problem again - head on, with professionals who are skilled in this realm. read more

We made a reservation for a Saturday dinner. The restaurant is decorated nicely with a good size bar. We were sat immediately in a booth in the back which was nice as you have a good view of the entire restaurant. Our sever greeted us and brought us water, menus and took our drink orders. Drinks came out quickly. Dirty martinis on point, made correctly. The server was nice but was obviously overwhelmed with tables. I would call it a little dismissive. I'm not sure if they were short staffed for the night but the restaurant was crowded and clearly not enough staff to handle the crowd. Our table ordered two of the short rib lasagnas which were hot and flavorful. Very good. I enjoyed it snd would order again. One person ordered the shrimp risotto which unfortunately was dry instead of creamy, no flavor or seasoning. Shrimp was nice and large. The other person ordered chicken Parmesan which they liked. All the food came out quickly. We ordered desert but after it hadn't arrived for some time, we asked the server and as it turns out, they gave the dessert to another table as they had somehow made a mistake with their meal. However, they forgot about our table. Very strange. They finally brought out the dessert and our friends said it was good. I think they do have some kinks to work out with the orders and staffing. I wouldn't go back after experiencing Angel's attitude. I'm not used to having the utensils SLAMMED onto the table. He needs to find another job. The table next to us arrived 10 minutes after us and received their orders before we even got our salad. When asked nicely what was wrong (I think he forgot to put our order in) Angel got an attitude. Brought the salad to the table and slammed the dish and the utensils on the table. We left. We won't be coming back. He really needs to go. read more

Stopped into Pubblico based on reviews and unfortunately reviews let us down this time. We ordered a Caesar salad, watermelon salad, bruschetta, ravioli, and chicken parm. The salads were decent for the price and the bruschetta was quite good. The meals however were disappointing. The spinach and ricotta ravioli was mediocore and a super small portion (4 pieces for $20, seriously?) with Alfredo sauce. The Alfredo was sweet and not super flavorful, was not your standard Alfredo. I was quite underwhelmed. The chicken parm was a solid portion, but the marinara sauce was just ok. Overall the food was ok but just not worth the price, esp the ravioli. Service was decent but we noticed our waiter never offered us a bread basket with dipping oil, which we saw many other tables munching on. We also got shoved into a corner table right next to the kitchen even though there were many available tables. Pasta dishes were dry. The Ziti has little sauce and hard to find cheese. Overly sweet. Appetizers were overly sweet. Had Brussel sprouts, burrata which had beets that were still raw. Couldn't chew them. Holiday lights and drinks advertised felt uninspired like they did it to advertised to get people in the door but were low effort to put it mildly. Servers brought dinner and never saw her again. Would have ordered another drink if they ever came back. We paid and left. Very disappointing unfortunately. read more

We had been to the Phoenix location of Pubblico, which has since closed. That location had a great, more stylish, upscale ambiance with dim lighting, lovely wallpaper, and a great bar, so this location's decor was a bit of a let down. The hostess was friendly and seated us right away. The bar stools were completely full, and I got the feeling that this is a neighborhood hangout. we ordered: *Limonata cocktail *An old fashioned *Basil smash cocktail *Meatballs *Fried calamari *Pepperoni pizza *Brussel sprouts Everything tasted fine, not fantastic, but pretty good. I really liked the pepperoni on the pizza--there is some pepperoni which I don't care for. The cocktails were delicious and fairly strong. The prices are not bad here and there is plenty of parking. We requested a booth per usual and indeed got a booth! Very nice. The restaurant as busier when we got there at 7pm but then it quickly died down. It's a cute smaller place with an outside covered patio. I got the gluten free mushroom and roasted shallot pizza and I was impressed. Chewy but not too chewy. Had some nice crunch to the outer edges of the crust. Great amounts of the mushroom and roasted onion, which had a nice umami sweet contrast. The truffle cream sauce is to die for, not too heavy but rich tasting. Loved it, had leftovers. My boyfriend got the chicken Parmesan and loved it. He thought it was a pretty decent portion size. Nothing to complain about here! They also put more Parmesan on your meals if you like - can never have enough parm! read more

Came for their holiday pop up, stayed for everything else. Our waiter, Wes I believe, was super friendly and attentive. Decor was so fun for the season. Beyond just the seasonal things, cocktails and food were great. We accidentally got served the wrong pizza, but it was good looking enough to not mention anything since all the pizzas on the menu seemed like a good choice, and the flavor and crisp of the crust was perfect. I ordered pick up. The restaurant is in a center so lots of parking. It was somewhat busy for a Wednesday evening when I arrived but very cute place. It was lively with lots of people sitting on the patio area or even at the bar. I ordered the carbonara pasta and the clams/mussels appetizer. The appetizer - you can choose to do all clams or all mussels or a mix. It came with a couple pieces of garlic bread. Very delicious. Reminded me a little of cioppino which I couldn't tell what the market price was on their website so I did not order. The carbonara was DELICIOUS! The first time I had this type of pasta was in Italy and it came with the same type of pasta (gemelli) that was fresh rolled and this was almost just as good!!! She loves this place! She said that everything she has had is great here. And the service is incredible. Tonight: my friend got the full size salad. I got the prosciutto and arugula brick oven pizza and my boyfriend got the chicken parm. My friend enjoyed her old fashion and full size salad. My boyfriend enjoyed the chicken parm and potatoes. Had a lovely lunch with an equally lovely friend here at Pubblico. We opted to sit on the spacious shaded patio but the indoor seating looked pleasant as well. Since the pasta is house-made I opted to get the rigatoni since it came with bolognese sauce and it was heated in a wood fired oven. When it came out it looked fantastic. It was a generous portion with perfectly al dente pasta, large chunks of sausage, just the right amount of full flavored sauce, plenty of ooey gooey cheese on top. Oh Yelp how you have failed me!! First, this is a total local joint. Expect to be joined by a bar full of regulars and a nice enough bar tender. We should have noted that regulars were drinking but eating mostly pizza. Also be prepared to look at a half empty room only to be told that the lady in front of you with yoga pants and a baseball hat will get the last table where she explicitly asks management to take it - in spite of the fact we came with a reservation. We were told we 'could' sit outside. No thanks, so we sat at the bar. Finished our meal and the room was still half empty. Loud as heck. Limited wait staff as well. Food was just meh. A restaurant week Cesar salad was fine but mains were meh at best. The lobster ravioli with brandy cream sauce - laughable. There was not even a breath of brandy in the sauce and instead it was an over-salted tomato cream sauce. Pasta was okay but no substantial lobster. Husband's cioppino was very mediocre. Watery broth, mostly calamari rings, two clams, two mussels, one shrimp - no scallops no lobster as advertised but a pasta filler instead. Soooo delicious! I had the clam linguine, and it truly was freshly made! How do I know? I've been making homemade noodles for family get-togethers for years! This was an excellent dish! I also shared the calamari appetizer (which was very tender not chewy at all), and the meatball appetizer. Was I too full for dessert? Unfortunately, yes. Maybe next time. Arrived and was seated at 6:10pm on a Saturday ... even though we had a reservation, I was surprised to see how many empty tables there were. There were four of us. Our server came by pretty quickly and took our drink orders, then returned shortly after to take our appetizer order. He then asked if we wanted to order dinner as well, we said sure but asked that the dinners not be served until well after the appetizers were finished. He acknowledged this and assured us no problem. Our appetizers were brought to our table by expo staff at 6:55pm, nearly 30 minutes after we had ordered them. Then less than 10 minutes later, while we were still eating the appetizers, our dinners were served. We had to consolidate both appetizers onto one plate to make room for the dinner plates. We inhaled the rest of our appetizers so we could get to the dinners before they got cold. Refills on drinks? Forget it. We sat forever multiple times trying to find our server to get refills. At one point, I took my empty glass to the bar to get a refill of Diet Coke. Now the food ... I had the Carbonara with chicken. It was good but nothing to write home about. My son-in-law had a pizza ... same. My daughter had the ravioli and thought it was good. Finally, my wife had the shrimp risotto and said it was fine. The appetizers ... the mozzarella sticks were okay ... I thought the batter was heavily seasoned and left no room to taste the cheese ... the calamari was actually very good, being tender and flavorful. Overall, the poor service dominated the evening and the food being fine, but nothing amazing, would be the reason why we probably wouldn't return. read more

Pubblico is in a shopping center of sorts and is tucked away in a corner with very dark windows. Based on the location and initial appearance, my partner was skeptical of my dining choice for the evening. But then we entered and were pleasantly surprised. The decor is modern with metallic wallpaper in a damask-like pattern. The benches and booths are red, with a wood floor and tables. This isn't an old-school Italian restaurant. Our server was especially genial and complimented our choices when we selected our drinks and our dinner entrees. I'm certainly not immune to someone complimenting my taste, and this server's strategy was quite effective on me. It made me not only like him more but it made me more excited to receive the food and drinks we selected. I ordered the Sangria (I seem to be on a Sangria kick this trip to Arizona) and my partner had the mojito. Both were great after a long day of dropping the kiddo off at college in the most oppressive heat I've ever experienced in my life-115 degree temperatures today. The food was very good. I had the salmon with roasted potatoes and broccolini. The salmon was perfectly cooked and well seasoned, both of which can be hit or miss when dining out. My partner had the pizza (as he often does) and he reports that it was good, but not as good as the pizza he makes at home. To be fair, he has never had a pizza that is as good as the pizza he makes at home and he did finish the entire pizza at Pubblico, so do what you will with that bit of information. Great ambiance and a very nice vibe Italian restaurant in the Scottsdale area. I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of the food coupled with the expert cocktail making ability of the bartender. My party and I ordered a variety of dishes with some of the highlights including the rigatoni, carbonara and the arugula salad. My 2 complaints of this place were the waiter and the AC. Our waiter unfortunately made a few mistakes along the way despite taking our orders down on paper. Not sure if this was the kitchen or his own memory, but it was a let down. The other negative was the non-functioning AC. Our whole party was sweating for most of the night and this was not fun. I reserved a space on the patio so I coud bring my dog. When I arrived, to check in, the host was rude, nearly pushing me out the door because I had my dog in my arms. I know dogs are only allowed on the patio, how am I to let the host know I am there if I just go sit down? My waiter was quite nice and efficient. I ordered the salmon and watermelon salad and an aperol spritz. The salmon was so dry, it was like fish jerky. The salad was very pretty, yet hardly dressed. I requested extra dressing and salt. This is a favorite hang out of my friends and I'm glad I met them here for dinner. First, the bartender (Alyssa?) was outstanding in helping me find a great gin for the drink she ended up mixing for me. For dinner, I went with the strawberry salad and added salmon for the protein. The combination of the salmon was great with the strawberry vinaigrette, strawberries, candied walnuts and goat cheese. The portion of both the salmon and salad was very filling and I had plenty of salad left over that I couldn't finish. So far everything we have ordered was very good from the pizza to the seafood risotto. But the chicken fettuccine with a hint of lemon is amazing. I frequent this place a LOT, and I can say tonight I was extremely let down. This is about half the food I usually get when I order this same dish, and it cost more money this time around. I was shocked to open my dinner and see that it was no more than 5 bites. I usually share this dish with a second person but it was not enough tonight. I've always wanted to try this place and I'm glad I did! Friendly staffs, great atmosphere, and good happy hour selections! We got the shrimp scampi and margherita pizza from the happy hour menu and the rigatoni pasta from their regular menu. The rigatoni pasta was the best out of the three. Pubblico eatery is a great place for lunch! My fiancé and I had the day off and decided to try it out. They have a small lunch menu of salads, sandwiches, pizzas, and pastas. I decided to get the chicken Parm sandwich and my fiancé ordered the pepperoni wood fired pizza. Both were delicious! The chicken Parm was a breaded chicken filet with some cheese, arugula, onion, and some Mayo. It was a tad bit on the oily side - as I was eating, oil was dripping off the filet but otherwise it had good flavor. The pizza was also really good. The crust was nice and chewy and they didn't skimp on the cheese and pepperoni. I would definitely recommend this place for a bite to eat. read more
