Been meaning to post a review about this place for awhile. I purchased a Recteq X-fire 825 pellet grill from the Grill Center this last summer. I could not be happier with my new grill. Long time Traeger owner and I have always liked them, but have seen a decline in their construction. Also not being able to get a real sear on steaks forced me to have to grill steaks on my gas grill. This grill does it all. Very solid construction. Also love the technology of completely managing my cook from my phone. Love it. Also cannot say enough about the folks at the Grill Center. I was their first Recteq grill sale. So they had to order it. These guys assembled it for me. Delivered it my house. Made some great recommendations on some amazing BBQ sauces and spices that I am now hooked on. Friendly is an understatement. Strongly recommend this grill and this business. Strong 5 star review from me. read more

The Grill Center is in a postage stamp sized building right off of Tualatin-Sherwood road in... Sherwood! They specialize in Traeger grills, which can be seen at www.traegergrills.com. If you aren't familiar with Traeger grills, well, you should be. Once you familiarize yourself with them, and end up purchasing one, you can thank me later! You're welcome in advance. The Grill Center had a "Friends and Family" sale on all things Traeger today. 20 lb. bags of pellets (ordinarily $20+ per bag) were $10 each! To say that my friends and I loaded up a few bags would be an understatement. Everything from accessories to the grills themselves were on sale today. Even though it was pouring-ass rain today, the event was totally worth it. Traeger representatives were on hand cooking food for people who showed up. How nice is it to be handed a hot bowl of biscuits and gravy, fresh off the grill, FREE, when the weather is miserable? It's REAL nice, lemme tell you what. The free grub was being handed out in a demo area of this covered outdoor patio, complete with built-in Traeger grills, flat screen TVs, and a fireplace. It was enough to make me consider a second mortgage in order to replicate the setup in my backyard. Stop by the Grill Center if you're even remotely in the neighborhood and learn what a Traeger is all about. You might even get lucky enough to be there when a demo is happening, and hey, FREE FOOD. read more

My Traeger was in need of refurbishing, so I took it to the Grill Center. If you're partial to your specific grill, be prepared to only get some of it back. Upon retrieving my grill, Greg began by pointing out that the magnets on the frame needed to be unscrewed. Funny, my grill never had any magnets on the frame. It also appears to have been re-assembled by a nine year old. None of the parts seem to be aligned correctly. The lid is mid-aligned and won't seat properly. There was still sand-blast residue in the bottom of the grill. The appearance is satisfactory, but only time will tell if it was worth $350. Take it somewhere else if possible. read more

We were on our way back to SoCal from visiting friends in Portland. They had just got a Traeger smoker from this place. They took us there to see what they had and 15 minutes later we had bought one. The gentleman who runs the place was very knowlegable and helpful. So far, I've made cornish game hens, Santa Maria tri tip barbecue, salmon and shrimp on the Traeger. I love it! read more

Just buy online! I wanted to upgrade to a new Traeger and decided to buy through a local shop thinking that I might build a nice relationship for future consumables (pellets, etc) or service and product support if needed. When I unpacked the box I noticed that the assembly instructions were missing along with the owners manual, meat probe, etc. and remembered that the shop had a few of those packets lying around. I called to let them know and to give them an opportunity to support a local customer and follow through on the sale by offering to help ... maybe by calling Traeger to arrange a replacement or even by offering one of those packets. Nope! First I was told to expect a call back in a few minutes and when that didn't happen, I called again and was told that I needed to call Traeger myself to arrange replacement. Well then, I should have just ordered it from Traeger in the first place and saved myself the drive to their shop. Seriously, all they carry is Traeger and they won't offer any sales support except to direct their customer to call Traeger themselves. Fine, so buying local from THIS shop turned out to be a wasted effort. Traeger offers all of their products online for direct shipment to your house and I'd highly recommend just buying online. read more

Worst possible customer services ever! Epic fail! I called Treager ( a great local company!) and explained I need a part that was covered under my warranty. Treager said no problem! Our service center isn't open today but The grill center will gladly help you out since your leaving town for three weeks. Treager called ahead to the owner while I waited on the phone to confirm they had the part and would be there when I arrived. When I arrived at the grill center they had the part. They would SELL it to me at a hefty price and they had a strict no return policy even if it was a new part from Treager. Some clothing stores return snow tires they have such great customer service. The grill center hasn't figured out how to take care of Treager customers at all. They just want your cash. read more

Today I had an experience when shopping for a Traeger that far exceeded my expectations. Greg & Kim who own The Grill Center in Sherwood, OR., exemplified what I could only hope for when making any purchase of value and that is complete and thorough information of what I was purchasing and how to get the best use out of it. I have owned a Traeger prior but really did not know the basics or how to get the best use of a Traeger Grill. I left not only knowing the basics of which I lacked prior to my last Traeger I owned but now with confidence on the basics that I will enjoy being able to use this Trager to grill for family and friends and get the best use out of a Trager. I do not need to sell my opinion on why I think Trager is the way to grill & BBQ as it does that on its own. My whole point of this review is to encourage you to visit The Grill Center as you will find the same pricing online or at a big box store such as Costco but what you will not get as the for mentioned is a basic education for beginners who never advanced to take advantage of this purchase with some simple basic knowledge that Greg was more than happy to teach me today. I have posted seldom of a review of business's I have purchased from but was so impressed of my experience today. Finding a business that sells that sells a product you are seeking and you walk away with confidence you purchased at a great price and the added education you get in person instead of on the internet. read more
