I had a really good salad. Iced tea to drink. I didn't know that the Buffalo chicken on my salad meant that it would be pretty spicy. If not, you might want to start there, and the first thing you'll notice is that I did not order food with health in mind, and you'll be tempted to do the same. I even asked my wife, when I go to get my haircut today should I tell them to give me some distance as I had the garlic parmesan fries last night as part of my dinner. She thought I was okay.... Now you need to know that nobody twisted my arm, as there are salads on the menu, and they look darn good, but for dinner the other night, nothing was going to get between me a cheeseburger (mine customized to include jalapenos), french fries, and onion rings. Nuts and bolts? New location, now in the former home of Philadelphia, more indoor seating, several outdoor tables (in the era of Covid this is a must and appreciated), friendly help (I was greeted warmly), and they handled my take out order professionally (it was wrapped up nicely, ready to go when they told me it would be, and the paying process went quickly). My original review was when Grill Next Door was in the Ranchos, and it was as covid was starting to permit us going out a little more. I wasn't impressed. But now, in this new location, fantastic. They took over a space formerly inhabited by a horrible place that was dark, dusty, with musty carpeting and horrible decor. It looks like the owners ripped it down to the studs and started over. It's beautiful! It's light, airy, the people are friendly, and the food is great. We will definitely be back! read more

I REALLY want to love this place. the times I've eaten here it's been great. I realize they've had staffing issues but this last incident ruined it for us. Last Saturday I called in an order & they said 30 minutes. I got there & was told it wasn't ready so we waited. And waited. And waited. After over an hour they said our ticket didn't print and we would have to wait all over again. I've worked in food service & know how it works. They should have explained the situation to the kitchen staff asking to fix the problem in a hurry, putting my newly printed ticket at the head of the line instead of last. They recently moved to this location. It's great! Clean, roomy and a nice bar area. There's a game room with pool tables and a few video games. I highly recommend ordering off the chalkboard menu! We had the pork chops which were so tender. I could eat the sweet potato hash by the bowlful! Apple blue cheese salad was yummy. Portions are large enough to share. We had gone for a car club gathering & decided to eat here. Hubby suggested just sharing some Fish & chips. I have such tummy problems of late & hubby suggested sharing this I reluctantly agreed. It came light colored and beautifully crispy. I asked for another piece of fish because it was so good and not from a bag! Another thing is because we were eating light when Carly asked if we wanted dessert, I asked what do you have & she offered quite a list of choices from cheesecake to hot fudge Sundaes. This place was recommended by a nearby auto shop so my wife and I had lunch while we waited for our car to be ready. My husband and I went to The Grill Next Door for a casual date night. It appeared that they were much busier than expected (for a Tuesday night) and not staffed accordingly. Sutter was our server and he really is the main reason we loved our experience so much. We had a party of 5 everyone's food was terrible greasy and under done onion rings, greasy French dip, the croutons in the salad were way past stale just a bad experience and more than likely will not go back. We like EVERYTHING about The Grill! We haven't eaten inside for quite a while, but we take full advantage of the curbside pickup and delivery services. We haven't had a bad meal, ever! Here's what puts them a notch above: 1) high quality ingredients - all your favs plus original fare means we get to try new dishes with confidence 2) they don't cheap-out on sauces or dressings for their offsite eaters 3) though technically, this should be in the 1) position, THE STAFF - a stellar group of people that are either the nicest most competent ever or...can fake it well enuf for an Oscar nom 4) as stated, I don't go in often, but when I do, it's always spotless 5) they are good listeners - though few actually note this in a restaurant review, we have a few dietary challenges at times - they are superb at the art of flexibility I may not be their #1 Fan in the "money spent category" but I'm #1 in the Trust/Value/Yummy Line. read more

Disappointed! After reading the reviews to discover the food and service lacking. Place a take out order on Tuesday, August 10,2021 for two cheeseburger cooked well done and fries. It's very hard to find a menu online to be able to call in a order. The menu, I did find wasn't accurate. We wanted to order item that was no longer on the menu nor did the girl taking the order ever hear of the item. Go pick up our order to find out if you use a card there is a service fee for using a credit card. Plus on top of it was charged $1 for a large take out order. I guess two cheeseburgers is a big/large take out order for them. We get back with our cheeseburgers. We sit down to eat them to find one cheeseburger partially raw. The 2nd cheeseburger completely raw. Could even eat the cheeseburger it was so raw. I called the restaurant to notify them one cheeseburger was partial raw and 2nd was completely raw. The same girl said I am sorry. I will let the guys now. Never offer to refund or remake our order. Complete waste of money and time! Ended up throwing it away the raw cheeseburger. So we stopped by here last weekend before heading over to a tour of the Bentley Heritage Estate Distillery. It is what I would describe as a "hole in the wall" restaurant that turned out to be pretty good. It's described as a family-owned restaurant...the one server is probably somebody's teenager and she did a pretty good job of making sure we were served and taken care of. My wife and I both had burgers and they are definitely handmade patties and quality sandwiches. The only negative is that it's a rather small space and you tend to hear everyone else's conversations...especially if they aren't thinking the same and talking with a louder voice. All in all, a good experience. We don't live close by, so won't probably go back too often, but we decided on our trips up and back to SoCal that we sometimes take, this would be a good "planned stop" for dinner. read more

Found this place on Yelp, this is the only restaurant in this area that has better than 4 stars. We were in the mood for some protein salads, so we ordered a chicken cobb and a steak salad. The romaine lettuce was very fresh and crispy. The cobb had lots of toppings and the steak had carmelized onions and bleu crumbles.
