Visited the Grill Next Door this past weekend, the staff were extremely welcoming and the space is wonderful as well. The restaurant offers a very large area for families and friends to gather as well as an equally large bar area to enjoy drinks or a meal with anyone. We found the plethora of games available for use to be an awesome additive as well. The food was great! Very interesting take on American classics and came hot from the kitchen quickly. We will be back!

This place rocks! We came after a softball game and they had enough room for the whole team, parents and siblings. We sat and played games while we drank some local brews and waited for our food. The staff was very kind and patient, I can only imagine the stress that comes from all of us being there, hungry, thirsty and loud. The food was great and plenty, I couldnt finish my dinner and I'm not a small man. I love that I have left overs. If you're in the neighborhood, this is the place to be. I hope I'm back during the summer bc they have a backyard with outdoor games and a brick built bbq.

Pulled pork was delicious!! I love the onion rings they were very crunchy and savory. Quick service we were seated immediately. This is a bar but also has arcade games for the kids. My partner loved the tomato soup! Love the vibes.

I came here midday just before they were moving from breakfast to lunch. I quickly scanned the breakfast menu but actually had a hankering for a Cheesesteak sandwich. I paired that with a cup of their delicious tomato basil soup. I'd come back just for more of that...! Maybe pair it with a grilled cheese next time. The Cheesesteak was okay. Lots of gristle and tough fat that I had to pull from my mouth, but the overall flavor was decent. The service was steady and the inside looks just about the same as it did when it was still the Hamdog's restaurant. Long bar, gambling machines and about 15 or more tables.

We went there tonight and there was barely anyone there which was nice. We ordered, onion rings and fried pickles for appetizers. Its 30 minutes for those to come out. 3 other families were sat after us. My husband ordered fish and chips and I ordered the BBQ bacon wrap. An hour after sitting down all the families were given their food before us. We asked how much longer and they told us that they just got a big online order and they were doing that first then they would start on ours. I told them to cancel it. Everyone was served before us that were sat after us and we didn't want our food any longer. I thought this place was great before. The service is horrible now. The waitress had a major attitude from the get go. I just checked my bank account and turns out the waitress gave herself a $20 tip. Our bill was 31.60 and we were charged 51.60. She stole from us. I will be reaching out to them as soon as they open today.UPDATE: I talked to the manager ans she says everything went through as the original amount. I have included pic of the receipt and the pending charge. UPDATE: I talked to the manager ans she says everything went through as the original amount. It definitely was tricky to find once the sun went down but the parking lot was full of cars which helped give clues to the location. It was pretty full which was a good sign upon arriving. Turns out they were having DJ Trivia that same night on the other side of the restaurant so little by little people appeared to trickle over. The staff were attentive and friendly. I went the "healthier" route and ordered a chicken cesar wrap and a while after learned that they ran out of tortillas so I had to go with a salad. Which was fine, I just found it interesting that it took 15 minutes to learn this. The waitress comped my soda so that was nice. The menu is abundant with lots of options. I now know that if there is not a sign and it look like the place is out of business that's usually a winner. I did enjoy the large flavorful salad and my friend enjoyed her burger. Nice to be able to explore the Gardnerville area at the same time.

What a wonderful hole in the wall kind of spot for great service and affordable yummy food! The biscuits were toasted and scrumptious as was the gravy. My omelette was so fluffy and filled with veggies. We'll be back!

The Grill Next Door is a Gardnerville staple. The staff are always nice and attentive and the owners are also awesome. I love that it has an arcade/game area and a full bar. It's a great place for family and a great place to hangout and enjoy some delicious food. Most recently I tried the cheese steak and it was delicious! We haven't tried breakfast yet but hopefully soon, the menu looks amazing.

I wanted some breakfast without having to go to an IHOP or Denny's. The place is TINY. Mostly 2-top tables and a handful of booths and bar seating. If you are seated at a regular table, expect to be friendly with the guests next to you. It's such tight quarters that you can't help but start having conversations with the people next to you. I got the pork chops with eggs and hash browns. You get 2 decent sized bone-in pork chops. They were well seasoned and juicy. Really good. My son got a pancake from the kid's menu that was shaped like a Mickey Mouse head. It was huge. I got a sausage patty to go with it. This was the only sub-par item as it was dry and lifeless. I feel like it was sitting on the flat top or under a heat lamp for hours. It wasn't worth eating. Other than that, the food we had over all was good. The service was OK. The morning we went, it seemed like there was only 1 server for the entire restaurant. She was taking orders, serving, AND bussing tables. So, the quality of service wasn't the best. She was rushed. Glad I was able to try a local spot.

Waitress were super helpful, kind and friendly. They were joking back and forth with us and in good spirits. Moe was very hospitable and joked right along with us. Another girl and I ordered a cold brew coffee, a couple other girls added that to their breakfast because it was so delicious and MASSIVE. All the portion sizes were also MASSIVE. I had the Traditional Eggs benedict. I have no complaints about the flavor, presentation or accompanying fruit cup. The sauce was the perfect portion for the meal and my food wasn't swimming in sauce. My one critique is that my eggs were a little too well done. I don't like my yolks completely runny, but these had absolutely no run to them. (see accompanying picture). If/when I go back, I'll definitely ask if that is standard and if so, to undercook them a bit so there's a little run to the yolk. Other than that minor detail this plaice is still 10/10. It's worth the drive out of Reno for this little gem tucked right off the main highway/street in Minden/Gardnerville.

Although the bakery and deli are connected to the casino next door, you don't hear casino noise inside the restaurant. However, when the casino door opens, cigarette smoke can drift into the dining area. Also, the restrooms are located through the casino. The food was delicious, the portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable. They also offer specialty coffees, Italian sodas, and an impressive selection of desserts, making it hard to leave without a treat! The restaurant is charmingly decorated and has a cozy feel. During our visit, the waitstaff was a bit short-handed, so a few tables hadn't been cleared right away. Recommend the BLT; thickness and flavor bacon was perfect! Cold pastrami was a good quality meat. Note: only the fries come standard sandwiches. The other sides (onion rings, cup soup) are $2.00 upgrade. We tried the apricot coffee cake ($12.45). It was good (fresh and moist) but couldn't find anything special. But instead, I asked for bacon on the side to give to my meat eating hubby. The server said it was already diced up- we said that was fine in a ramekin so he could put it on his bacon waffle. This is not what happened- it came out a fat drippy bacon strip stuck into my cheese of my omelette... hubby grabbed it off quickly. I was so grossed out by this- normally I would want to send it back- but got the vibe if I had the kitchen might have done something undesirable to my meal... and it wasn't worth the hassle Hubby ordered the chicken fried steak and a side bacon waffle- he made his own chicken and waffles. Before you get there, decide how many tacos you want to eat. There will be temptation, stick to your guns. The quick and efficient service may tempt you into an extra taco, resist. Develop the plan, work the plan, stay on the plan. The same goes for weenie Wednesday. The waitress explained it to us once. The owner secures Casper brand hot dogs, bring them over the hill weekly, and the hot dog is designed to snap when you bite into it. I'm convinced this is a covert plan to get you to change your plan. I wish you the best of luck here. The weenie Wednesday menu reflects a variety of flavors that will tempt you into deviating from the plan. I've never heard of a Reuben dog, or a Caesar dog. When I grew up, I had mustard dogs. These dogs are way beyond that and the venue tempts you to try new versions of different hot dogs. One of my excuses the last time I had weenie Wednesday was that " sauerkraut is good for my gut biome." So on taco Tuesday and weenie Wednesday, you could be tempted into a second round. That's not a good thing. The service has been fun, the environment, friendly, and welcoming, people laughing throughout the room, enjoying their food. Makes it a great experience. Oh heck, you're in the building you're hungry, change the plan, enjoy.

A roadside burger, fresh and hot fries, and a rich creamy milkshake are a necessary part of every trip through the area, and whenever we're between here and Mammoth, Walker Burger is THE STOP. For starters, the vibes are just perfect. The wait in line is where it starts, as the sun is typically beating down as you wait to order in the dirt parking lot, making the shade from the narrow porch and the friendly hello from the order taker your first reward for being here. Usually I'm hungry from a busy morning of breaking down camp, and a 1/4lb Walker Burger with American cheese, fresh veggies and secret sauce on a fluffy fresh seeded soft bun always hits. Summer time usually has me ordering a fresh seasonal fruit shake (peach) but honestly every shake is fantastic and I also LOVE the coffee shakes, which are made with real coffee and coffee beans for extra punch. Fries are always hot and fresh, and best of all they come out crispy without asking for it! Service is always friendly and fun too. What makes this spot special is the garden dining. Picnic tables are scattered throughout a well shaded area offering travelers a cool and relaxing area to enjoy their food. We've definitely done this a few times, but typically take it to go and enjoy it (and the glorious mess) on the way home. Walker Burger is a MUST! Have you been?
