If you're really hungry, order the bowl. Found out that they cook beef brisket slow for like 16 hours... and it tasted amazing with the pickled red cabbage on top. This is our 2nd time to come, and we were really looking forward to eating here again. Our fave part is the design/style/location/atmosphere. The food is pretty good too for this area. However, we arrived about 6 pm and there are at least 30 people in line waiting to order food on a Wednesday night. It would probably take an hour just to order, then wait even longer for the food to be made and served. This is a terrible design to have people come to this nice place to relax on the beach, and then have to stand in line a ridiculous amount of time. They need to hire servers to take orders. We are obviously leaving. Big disappointment. read more

The lines were crazy even at 6:30 but it was Spring Break for some surrounding states. Great atmosphere and nice for the kids to be able to play/run around. Peel and eat shrimp go for the full pound! Mahi mahi tacos and calamari were both super yummy! Fries are a great portion. The tuna poke bowl was great quality tuna and a big portion but the rice was very over cooked and mushy. Call me cheap but my husband and I paid over $40 for two hamburgers, a salad and hummus dip, and two bottled waters. They were out of fries so those two sides were our only option. When I asked for just water (typically free) I was told the only option was bottled water. Prices don't usually bother me but to pay that much for some burgers and sides just threw me. I've lived in Orange Beach and waitressed there and know you can get delicious seafood for that price at other, lesser known places. Besides the price the food was good and if you have kids I can see the allure in having all that room for them to play while you sit, eat, and enjoy an adult beverage. read more

My husband was hesitant to try this place because he thought it was going to be another tourist trap with mediocre food. I am happy to say he was wrong! We ordered grouper sandwiches and cobia tacos. They were both amazing! The fries and grouper were cooked and seasoned perfectly and were not greasy at all. The cobia tacos were so light and fresh. The bloody mary was a perfect addition to the meal. The view was great and even though it was a hot day in September, there was a breeze that made it pleasant. Finally got to eat here on our last trip. The view is amazing, and that's all you get. We went for dinner on our last night in Orange Beach since we missed it last time because of rain. After waiting 30 minutes in line I ordered the Gulf burger as did my wife, my daughter got the BBQ chicken sandwich, my son had the Grouper sandwich, and my grand-daughter the grilled cheese. We split 2 orders of fries because nothing but the kids meals come with sides and 2 teas ($2.75 for a 16oz cup). Altogether it was around $70 and we left hungry. For $4 the order of fries was small. The burger didn't fill the oversized brioche bun and didn't appear to even be seasoned. I've had much better and waaaay cheaper. I understand prices are going to be higher in a resort town and a place on the water even more so, but you should leave feeling good about your meal at least. Their location system to bring you your food doesn't work well. One time we thought our food had arrived and the guy checked the buzzer disc and said nope but ours should be right out. 7 minutes went by before I went back to the counter to check and they said that they'd been looking for us. The food came a minute later and the fries were warm but not hot. No apologies, or can I get you some fresh, just here you go that's how it is. We were so famished by the time we got it that we just ate it begrudgingly. All totaled between waiting in line to order and waiting for our food we were there about 45 minutes before we got to taste a thing. My recommendation is that you eat somewhere else then maybe stop by here for drinks to relax and enjoy the view. They seemed to do a good bar business not sure about the drink prices as we had the baby we weren't drinking. The bathrooms look like they are a full-time bar and nothing else. I tried three of four different restrooms and each had urine on the seat and around the floor. They were otherwise clean but the drunk men apparently had no aim that night. No changing stations for babies and trying to wrangle a potty-training toddler while cleaning the seat and not let her stand in the floor urine was fun. *TIPS* Look at the menu on their website. It is written on a chalkboard by the order station and nowhere else, you can't see all of it until you are almost ready to order the way the line forms. It changes so look it up the day you are going. There is a Pokestop here that spawns (at times) some really cool stuff. read more

Came in for dinner during our annual beach trip to Gulf Shores. The location was really easy to find as it was right off of the main strip. Parking was a little packed but we were able to find parking fairly quickly. The concept is simple, you order at the window and a server brings the food to your table. Everything on the menu looked great so I ordered a couple of different items to share. Ordered some fish dip, tacos, and something else that slips my memory. I was really looking forward to the fish tacos but it was not anything that wow'd me. The fish was pretty bland the sauce packed any real flavor. I will give kudos as the view of the outdoor seating cannot be beat. The kids were able to play in the sand as the adults were able to eat and chat. read more

Ate lunch here today while on vacation at Orange Beach. There are TWO kitchens with a bar in the middle. One side is fish tacos and sandwiches while the other side offers chef specials and other sandwiches. Went with the mahi mahi tacos and they were decent. Guac and chips were good. The food is okay but a little pricey for what you get. The restaurant is made out of shipping containers and is pretty cool. This was our first time here with our family and we'll for sure return. We came early and were fortunate to get a good a good table in the shade. As we left the place was packed without any open tables. It's a seat yourself place so be sure to go early if possible. Plenty of room for the kids to run around in the sand, and also play cornhole. The food would get a 3 or 4, depending on who in our family you asked to review. (Keep in mind we live in New Orleans and are used to awesome food.) But the atmosphere and location are definitely a 5 out of 5. It's super kid-friendly and dog-friendly, it has a laid back bar with a decent blackberry mojito & wine selection, and the location is amazing! It's right on the water and the view is gorgeous. We got a bunch of items - guacamole was decent; cauliflower bites were probably our favorite out of our order; kids grilled cheese was standard; kids chicken nuggets were definitely on the decent side (meat chunks not a processed meat medley from a thousand chickens); the salad was decent (my husband had it with blackened fish, fish was just alright). We especially loved the friendly staff, atmosphere and last but not least the food was great! Wifey and I split the shrimp tacos & blackened Mahi tacos, which were very good (ask for no cilantro if u don't like it). The bartenders were awesome and our server guy was very nice & polite. Our kids loved the being in the sand, watching the boats go by & thought their cheeseburger & fries was awesome! Highly recommended and could probably say it was our favorite place to eat dinner on the entire vacation. Views, quick service, a gorgeous and well maintained environment, and the perfect Instagram ambiance. The food was amazing and place was packed. I had the mahi-mahi tacos. In "I Love You Man", they say the best fish tacos are on Venice Beach. FALSE. The Gulf's are strong contenders for the best fish tacos I have ever had. Other people I dined with had the chicken tacos (great bang for your buck at $8), the Swordfish Rueben, grilled shrimp taco bowl, and grouper sandwich. All were fantastic. This place is gorgeous and appropriate for all ages. Hip for young adults, great for date nights and safe for families with small children. The gift shop was also adorable with trendy printed tshirts and trinkets to share with loved ones back home. All in all, it was a fabulous evening. read more

We ate there last night. The atmosphere is very nice. My teens thought it was very trendy and they said it made them feel like they were at a backyard cookout. Very conducive for families. My only complaint was the wait. We were there on Wednesday night to pick up take out. There was no way to place a take-out order without standing in line. So...we stood in line...for an hour and 15 minutes. Luckily, we were in line with a nice family from the UK and we had a pleasant visit. The person at the register was very kind and gracious, and even gave us free soft drinks for having to wait so long for a take out order. Three of us had the grouper sandwich and it was very tasty. The fried fish was not greasy, was a healthy serving size, and the sauce with it was very tasty. My daughter had the burger and it was marginal. I would HIGHLY recommend this place, just be aware the wait can be brutal. The atmosphere and experience far outweigh the wait and a lackluster burger. read more

Every time I visit the Gulf is amazing. For Valentine's Day lunch, it was superb once again. Great ambiance, great staff, and "Heaven" - our food delivery diva - was so sweet. Whatever you get, please also get an order of (fries)! You won't regret it - worth the calories. Only thing that I don't like about The Gulf is that this business wasn't my idea first!!!
