The food is okay, nothing like the NYC halal guys but it's not bad either. Employees are nice but the general manager not so much. I ordered through doordash which took out the regular size option but it allows you to upgrade to a large size under small platters. I called immediately after to ask if this was okay and she said my order had already been picked up so it was too late but I have the drivers locations on the app and he had not gotten there yet. I call the driver immediately to make sure and it was true, he had not gotten there yet. I call back the store and they did not answer my call until the dasher left. read more

Don't bother. Chicken smells ..'off', lots of brown lettuce, they had no pitas ready to go, they served my son but skipped me in line. When we came home , it went into the garbage ... wasted . read more

Native to "the Halal Guys" 53rd and 6th here. Grew up eating them and lived at the cart during my college days. Finding myself #adulting in Upstate NY with very limited options for halal fast food. I was so excited to see their yellow bag and tin can platter with a coworker at work I took an immediate lunch to check them out! To my pleasant surprise this new location is awesome! I found them 2 weeks ago and have returned about every work day since for lunch! Legit taste like the original, yes the sauces too! Great management by Julie- always working with her team and keeping good spirits. The team works swiftly and effectively providing great service, great attitude, quick checkout, clean atmosphere/seating area and clean bathrooms too! Tried a gyro from them yesterday. Honestly, definitely not the best I've had. It was very Americanized and tasted pretty bland. I've had authentic gyro from Europe and it is sooooo much different and much better. Even in the US, there is much better that you can find. read more

After living in NYC for 6years, I've returned and sought some resemblance of great street food. After trying a combo platter, I have to give this review a 3. Unfortunately, it's a little pricey (believe it or not), the veggies are put in the platter first (under hot food???), and they cut the pita down an extra time. What is that saving, a few pennies? The street price was $8, rice goes first, then the hot meats, then some salad to the side. The sauces were the same and overall the food at the brick and mortar tasted great. Ultimately, it's a solid replica just needs some adjustments. Is a food truck in the works?!? That would be killer. read more

Love the wraps, but the platters are the best. Half salad, half rice bowl, white sauce on the whole thing. Heck yeah! I always buy white sauce packets for home falafel as well. Definitely one of the better falafel places in town for flavor and service. read more

For sure its not even comparable to NYC HG. Food didn't seem fresh. Quantity is not up-to mark either. Disappointed!

I stopped in for lunch and ordered the chicken sandwich which is essentially shaved chicken served inside a soft, warm pita with the toppings of your choice. I just added lettuce, tomato and onion (additional toppings like jalapeño peppers and what looked to be hummus cost extra). I also added the white sauce which was highly suggested by the employee preparing my food. I did not care for it at all as it was not at all what I expected. I also asked for hot sauce which she told me was very spicy and gave to me on the side. The sandwich came to just under $9 and although that isn't a lot of money, I feel that it was a waste. The pita was fine and the chicken was just ok. As previously mentioned, I could have done without the sauce. The hot sauce did have a kick but I didn't really like its flavor. I don't see myself coming back here unfortunately because the staff were very friendly and helpful. There are other places around town to get halal so I will probably just stick to what I know going forward. read more

This place was amazing. I've never gotten food from the carts in NYC so I can't compare it to that, but this was one of the best meals I've had. Very filling, flavorful, delicious. Hot sauce is suuuuuper hot and I love hot stuff so just be careful with how much you use, you really only need a couple drops for the whole platter. I ordered a combo platter on door dash last night and upgraded to regular size and hot a small. Food was very delicious but for the mistake I have to lower my rating. The halal guys never seems to disappoint. Anytime I've walked into there establishment i always feel welcome. With the cozy atmosphere and really good food this place is great for getting lunch. There menu has a nice variety of selection that's always great. I had this in New York City and I'm so glad that it's here in Buffalo. As a vegetarian I love the falafel and the sauces are delicious. They skimp you a bit when putting it on so you may have to pay extra but it's so good. read more

This was the first time eating at this restaurant. I had the small Chicken platter with Hummus and white sauce which was more than enough food for me. Excellent choice for Authentic Hilal NYC food cart storefront. I have to admit though it's not quite the same from the food card because they get nice crunchy bits. You will not be disappointed I suggest getting the combo with the salad it was so yummy. Also remember to get lots of the white sauce and just a bit of red cuz it is hot!!! read more
