One of the best halal guys I've been to. Pretty authentic and great pricing for the portions.

The only good thing I can say was that the French fries were really crispy and fresh. Everything else was mediocre. And if you're selling kebab and shawarma, why are you even offering French fries on the menu? That should be a warning to anyone who visits that it isn't using authentic recipes. What they offer is kinda bland grilled meats, chopped lettuce, chopped tomatoes, and a weak sauce. In summary, uninspiring food that doesn't live up to the kebab name. read more

So this place has been booked marked on my yelp page for a super long time. I had been wanting to try out the Richardson location but never made it over there. Then I saw the opened one in Plano and since it was so close I had no reason not to go by. I ordered the Combo Chicken & Gyro Sandwich fully loaded with toppings and added Kalamata Olives. So the line did go slow because the people behind the counter was obliviously brand new to ever working (they were teenagers so this was their first job) so I'm not going to hold that against them because we've all been there. When I bit into the Wrap I was disappointed. The chicken was flavorless. Nothing nada zip zilch nothing was there. I felt like I was eating nothing. The sauce was ok but who wants to just taste hotness and not the actual meat. My friend came the opening weekend and said that the meat had way more flavor than it had that night so maybe we just came on an off night but it made me not want to come back and try it again. This location in Plano is a no go for me, I usually go to the Richardson location. Since I was in the area I called up for pick up. first the lady spoke broken english and was speaking very loudly over the phone. When I was done making my order she asked for my credit card, I said no I am going to pay with cash. She got very forceful with her tone of voice, she then asked how long is it going to take me to get here. I said 15-20 minutes, but I didn't realize I was about to hit traffic. 30 minutes later I pull up to this location, I come in expecting for the food to be done and ready. Considering it is just pick up and I pay and then I am gone. NO, I stood there for 20 minutes for her to gathering my order together and not to mention there were 3 people ordering already and a young man was taking their orders. I only got 2 hot sauce packets and I asked for a couple of more and she only threw in one. This location is horrible and the customer service is atrocious. I love coming to halal guys! The food is great, and SO fulfilling (I even have to ask for less rice, can you believe that). The staff make the experience nothing more than pleasant with their great customer service. My wife kept talking about this place and that she comes here for lunch so she took me here the other day. I was a little hesitant being that I normally dont eat this type of food but she said trust me you'll like it. So I walk in and the menu looks simple and she explains to me how the ordering works. The african american guy who works there she says is always there and is very nice. He hears her explaining it to me and he says "do we have someone new here?" I said yes and he told me to get ready for some good food and to just ask him if I need anything. I ordered the steak gyro because I didn't want to go all out on the bowl before I knew what I was getting into. He piled it on for me and hooked me up with peppers, white sauce etc. I sat down and took my first bite and was like yeah okay this is good! I inhaled my sandwich. All the ingredients were fresh, the meat was moist and juicy but no grease. I had no grease in my sandwich. The white sauce is so good and my wife told me watch out because the hot sauce is super spicy and will kick your *ss. I said pass me that and let me try it. She says only put a little dab on your bite so I put more than that. Yes, the hot sauce is definitely hot and will clear your sinuses out for sure. You know it's hot when you are wiping your eyebrows with a napkin and getting 4 refills of Sprite after trying it. But it's so good I kept using it on my sandwich. It was very good and my wife knew I would like it here. Next time, I am going to get the full bowl with extra protein. The place is clean and looks like a healthy shop. No complaints on the food which was fresh and tasty. I have a weak stomach and even after eating all that I did not get sick or upset stomach. It hit the spot and I had a happy belly all day. Very good Halal guys. They had the usual, friendly service you get at many of their locations. Don't be fooled by the competitors, Halal Guys makes the best gyro street bowls in the area, and their white and red sauces are unmatched. There's a reason this chain is spreading like wildfire. Being a New Yorker and going to the original locations on 53rd and 6th in nyc this place is absolute disgrace to the name. They skimp on the white sauce which is literally the only reason people go there. The server refused to give us extra white sauce and the food was dry and hard to eat. This is such a disappointment. They just do everything wrong here it's sad they are squandering the good name the carts in nyc have made for themselves. read more

I wasn't super impressed. If I'm looking for a really quick place to have lunch before going back to work I might come back but if I have more time I would go to Mama Pita instead. I've been anticipating the grand opening of Halal Guys and it did not disappoint! First, the Owners and their staff did an incredible job with the grand opening and keeping the flow of traffic moving. Their staff was extremely friendly and were answering all of our questions about the menu and sides. Tastes just like NYC, love me some halal the red sauce will light your mouth up! 2-3 lines will have you feeling that good spicy sweat. Now it's become commercialized and doesn't have that same fresh quality as the cart used to. Even the white sauce tastes disgusting and I used to live on that stuff. I walked in Saturday at 1030a, ravenous after playing 2 hours of tennis. I was told it would be 10 more minutes so I was offered a free drink. I ordered two regular combos to go with four white sauces and two hot sauces. As with my usual habit, I ate 1/3 of it while still at the restaurant. The food was very fresh and the chicken was more garlicky than what I have had in other locations. It was delicious and I actually preferred it that way. If it was some kind of mistake, they should leave it. The gyro also tasted yummy and I like that it was not oily like the other places. Service was with a smile and they came around to make sure I liked my food. The location being only two days old was spotless. It is much bigger than the other locations. There is plenty of parking but there were lots of cars there (they were all at the breakfast place next door). I am glad I don't have to drive so far to get my THGs fix. read more

Decided to finally eat here because Tacodeli closes early. The worker who took our order wasn't terribly interested in being there and was incredibly hard to hear and understand. I got a chicken platter and my husband a gyro. They give a good bit of food, but the chicken had little to no flavor. The white sauce saved the dish by adding some flavor. My husband liked his gyro. We got a side of hummus, which is a generous portion, but they only give one pita?! That's just odd. The food was filling, but seasoning on the meat would be nice. We ate our food there and noticed many tables that needed to be cleaned...even at 5pm. I'm not sure I'll be in a rush to go back. read more

Im giving them one star because I had a bad experience with them. They lost their originality. The price is ridiculous for the quality and the sizes. They're mediocre. I tried the Gyro shop on legacy and coit and they are just so much better than halal guys. Same story started up in New York but the gyro shop has kept its charm and originality.
