Went there after hearing much about this franchise expecting really good falafel. It was bland. Definitely didn't meet my expectations and what's worse is they nickel-and-dime you for everything. The guy making my platter asked if I wanted each of these toppings: olives, hummus and their famous "sauces" and I happily obliged, only to find out at checkout that a lot of these things were extra. If you get hummus it's $1.00 more, olives it's $.50 extra and he was putting too much sauce on everything so when it came around to the spicy red sauce I asked if he could give me a couple of packets instead and to my surprise was even charged $.25 extra for those! I stopped by Halal Guys for the first time ever after work. It was totally "pre dinner hour" empty which made me happy because I don't know how to order here which can stress me out because I like to project the appearance that I always know what I'm doing. So guess what - the first thing dude asks me after he greets me is "have you been here before?" - cool, he's gonna help me and I don't have to look like a n00b (do people still say that? probably not). I wanted to use my carbs on pita, so I got a beef and chicken combo plate with salad (which is shredded lettuce and diced tomatoes - I heart shredded and diced) but no rice. On top I got lots of white sauce (which looks fattening) but it's yum and totally helps to protect your mouth from the flesh melting hellfire that is the red sauce. Literally I did one thin line of red sauce and my lips were still burning when I woke up the next day (still worth it). Believe the hype y'all, it's hot and I won't think any less of you for being a wuss...I mean cautious. My assessment of the meal is this - the beef looks more appealing and tastes better than the chicken. It was totally a lot of food, but I wanted more variety within the plate. Yes I did skip the rice, but to add the hummus or baba ganoush (which would have been perf on the the pita) was like another full order and too much $, it should be offered as a small side. They have a rewards card which was offered, explained to me, and then set up in a quick and efficient way and I appreciate that. I have been to this restaurant couple of times in Dallas. The taste is good and the restaurant is very clean and spacious. The taste is not as good as the street shop is NewYork but definitely worth to try it. The restaurant has a lot of parking places and parking is very easy to find. The store started off good but I have been noticing that they have started to go light on the meat. Every other halal guys I have been at, they use a round spoon or a spatula for the meat .. these guys load up the platter with rice and salad first and then use tongs to scoop the meat which is a scam .. they literally mash the chicken meat (which is what I get) to tiny bits and so when the scoop it u end up getting next to nothing .. I usually order a regular platter and they put just 2 tong fills of meat ! ..that's 10 bucks and change !!! Not cheap .. Showed up yesterday 4/30. Around 530pm. No line. Ordered a small beef platter. Looked at the Gyro meat and it was dried out and greasy and can tell it has been a slow time. So I asked for fresher meat. Like I've done When I've visited other locations when this has happened. Sure no problem. Then she proceeded to dump the old greasy meat all in the new fresh meat and mix it all up. She looked at me like I didn't know that was probably not the best thing to do. I've been to several halal guys, but this one was not the best. I came here twice. Once when they opened and the second time a couple of months later. Both times were with my coworkers. I usually get the beef platter. The beef here was a bit dry compared to the other place. The last time I went, I got a combo platter and the chicken was even drier. The place was really crowded so I was a bit confused. I thought I was the only one who did not that like the food, but my coworkers agreed that their food was a bit dry. I visited the Halal Guys yesterday for lunch. I orded a Falafel Bowl (Small). I have heard mixed reviews about this place but decided to give it a try. The line wasn't long but it wasn't moving fast. I finally get a chance to order my bowl and noticed that they servers were really unorganized. After what seemed like an eternity, I made it through the line and noticed I didn't have any pita bread. I asked for some pita bread, paid for my food and went back to work. The falafel and rice were really dry. The pita bread was burnt and had such a bad aftertaste. We were heading to the Indian food restaurant next door and saw they were serving customers before the grand opening on 8/18/17 and headed straight inside. To my disappointment, my husband and I got an upset stomach for 2 days straight after eating here!!! Very disappointed since this is our favorite type of food!!! We got the gyro, platter and hummus. Placed an order today through Uber eats at 6:44pm and received our order at 7:43pm. The order was for a small beef platter and a regular combo platter. Once our order arrived we only received our small beef platter. I called the store and the manager told me that our order went through three different uber drivers and finally after the third they just gave us a small beef platter without receiving the ticket - because that's all that they could see that was on the order from the Uber drivers phone. The first uber driver called me and told me they didn't have my order in the system and I told him our order and he told the manager over the phone what our order was. The Manager proceeded to tell me that there was nothing she can do and that they basically gave us the small beef platter for free. I asked if I could come and pick up my regular combo platter and the Manager told me no. I proceeded to ask the Manager what she would want in my position and she told me "I would want my food" - she then told me have a nice day. I am a regular, I love the food and eat here roughly 3 to 4 times a month. I tell my friends and family that Halal Guys has the best food and have turned many of them onto Halal Guys. I appreciate them sending me something, but as someone who works in the fast food industry...WHY would you fill an order for a ticket you didn't receive?? There was clearly a system error and I can't be the only one this has happened to today. First time having Halal foods and it was just ok. The Plano location is basically brand new so of course they are overstaffed with people just standing around looking/waiting for something to do. The staff was friendly and knowledge and about to answer a newbies many questions. I got the small platter with chicken and gyro beef. When I asked if the hot sauce was hot the staff responded, "it should be called hotter than hell sauce" my response, "oh hell no, I'll pass". But of course I enjoy a challenge so I got some me on the side. Overall the be platter was kinda bland I added more white sauce with caution considering one packet was 330 calories! WTH! Anyways I also dabbled a few drops of hell sauce and I quickly regretted it. The hot sauce is unbelievably hot... Proceed with Caution! Oh yeah the Falefels are green inside! I might be the only person who didn't know that. But they were okay kinda bland but surprising! And the baklava is Super Sweet. Overall I thought it a good light lunch, not so much for dinner. Contrary to the other reviewer, I LOVE the Halal Guys fries! The only problem is that you've got to get them when they are fresh. DON'T get the ones that have been sitting there under the heat lamp! Wait til they are fresh out of the fryer and they are perfect! They taste just like Del Taco fries do. The gyo is pretty good! Great lunch food. Not sure the value is quite there are $7.99 for a gyro without anything on the side, but it's plenty filling. VERY messy though..so definitely make sure to eat it over a plate. Be warned, the red sauce is HOT! A tiny dribble was more than I could handle...and I'm normally a hot wings kinda girl. Most people get the platters, not the gyro. Dunno why...I love the gyro! I haven't tried the gyro shop that gets frequently compared to this place, but this place is close to the hotbed of Frisco and Toyota activity so I'm sure it will be packed at lunchtime daily. read more

I love Halal Guys! First time I had it was at the OG cart in New York. I'd say the food is the exact same but the prices are a little more jacked up at the chain locations, but it's still reasonably priced. The main thing to get here is a combo or rice, lettuce/tomatoes, and your choice of meat which is chicken, gyro or both. You can have this as either a plate or a pita sandwich. I love this as a plate, and when I am feeling anti-diet, I get a falafel or fries to go with my meal. You can ask for the sauce to be put on your meal directly, or you can ask for packets so you can put the sauce on as you please. The sauces are white sauce (kind of like a yogurt/ranch sauce), SUPER SUPER SUPER hot sauce (seriously its too hot, and I like hot sauce; 2 drops is good for me), or BBQ sauce. They also offer hummus and baklava here, but I haven't tried them yet. The restaurant is pretty large and clean, with plenty of seating. It is also located in a small strip mall with other lunch-worthy spots next door. Overall, this is a great spot to eat at and it's one of my favorites for lunch in the area. read more
