Well its been long that we had such an amazing falafel wrap in town. And after having their falafel wrap I can say that they are best. The falafel was delicious and so does the pita bread. I've always been a fan of Halal Guys. I've had the combo and just chicken with rice. They have both been really good. They give you a generous portion as well. I love the white and red sauce. The red sauce is very spicy and a little goes a long way. Definitely a yummy place to get your chicken and rice fix. The baklava is really good here as well. read more

One of my favorite places to eat. It is an easy meal for me to get Gluten Free and not have to worry. I crave the chicken. It has a wonderful flavor and is always moist and yummy. Big fan of Halal Guys in NYC but so far I've been feeling pretty apathetic about the locations that have popped up around Dallas. No doubt the Halal Guys food carts in NYC are better - but this Plano location is probably the best Halal Guys location in the DFW. It's also the most expensive. $8.99 for a small platter and $9.99 for the regular platter. A whole $1.50 more than the Lemmon Ave location in Dallas. Oh well. Rent must be high in this area. Soooo if you're going to work for Halal Guys, shouldn't one of the requirements be to know how to pronounce "gyro"? All the employees were pronouncing it "JYE-roh"...cringe. Anyway, I'm not a fan of their chicken so I opt for the gyro platters. The employees here really hook it up with the meat. I got 3 very full scoops of beef gyro with my small platter. Don't be shy about asking for more white sauce or red sauce. Their rice and vegetables are pretty standard for Halal Guys but the gyro here seems the most well-seasoned and well-cut (large chunks rather than grounded up) compared to their other locations in the metroplex. read more

So here is the deal. I did Uber eats deliveries for extra money for a few months and always had pickups from Halal Guys so I started wondering was all the fuss? Tonight I did not feel like cooking so i gave it a shot. I stuck with the basic gyro..... Lots of food which was good but a little bland. I've def had better gyros elsewhere in this area. Don't get me wrong it was good but not addictive like some I've had. Gyro and drink were 13 bucks.....kinda steep. Maybe I would go back if in the area.... It all started when they changed their falafel. I had just discovered them and was eating there 2-3 times a week. I was recommending them to everyone and things were good. Then one day they switched the falafel they had which was really good to a flavorless ball of garbage, I'm guessing to save money because these are clearly cheaper. That alone was enough to kill it for me and everyone I know. Also the savory herb beef tasted like wet dog food smells. The final straw was the horrible employees. The last time I went I got such a bad feeling from the shady staff that I walked out before they finished my platter & was going to be a free order. I'm so happy these places are starting to pop up in the DFW area, it's not comparable to the stands in NY, but it's close enough. I ordered the combo of chicken and beef, and it comes with rice, lettuce, and pita bread. The chicken was a little on the dry side, but the meat was fantastic. Next time, I'll need to get more of the red and white sauce. I will definitely come back! The line goes pretty quick, so don't be intimidated by the line! I've been excited to try this place for months but was so sorely disappointed. For starters, the only way to get the food until opening is through the Favor app. The app doesn't give an accurate time estimate, a cost for the order or a status update on the driver. It took about 90 minutes to get the delivery, so I can't imagine how long the wait will be once the store opens. App issues aside, I typically love this type of food but Halal Guys was overly spicy and low quality. The shredded iceberg lettuce and pale tomatoes seemed like they had been sitting all day. I've never sat down and had a meal here. We've always done pick up or delivery! Today I was the designated pick-up chick! I suppose I looked like the pickup person. I was greeted by a wonderful, cheerful employee. I wish I had gotten her name! She had my order packaged and ready to go. I'm super impressed by their response. She had 6 too-go orders ready. I chatted with her as she got receipt ready to sign. This was not her first rodeo I could tell. I asked her about sauces white and the super hot, delicious red sauce, forks, and napkins. She had stuffed the yellow bags full of the items we needed to start our 12 hour shift off on the correct foot! She missed nothing, but the Tums required to cool our bellies down. I'm sure this order was an organized menu. I was not in here longer then 8 minutes. That was a dynamic 8 minutes. I'm glad my co-workers called in the order prior to my arrival to avoid my anxiety about ordering. Personally this was a 5 star visit for fast food. I have never been to a Halal Guys before, so I didn't have much of an idea of what to expect. I didn't go on opening day as their Facebook event showed 1100 people said they were going. So I opted to go on their 2nd day of business. I was able to walk right in with only 1 family in front of me. Ordering was simple. There are only a few options to choose from. I opted to go with a beef gyro. A typical gyro is made of lamb meat. I'm not sure the reasoning in using beef, but it works. It is seasoned the same and if you didn't know it was beef, you might not even realize it. There are only a few options for toppings. I stayed traditional with lettuce, tomatoes, and they have their own version of teziki sauce. They also have a red hot chili sauce. I opted to add one line of the red sauce to my order. My order came with fries and a drink for about $9. I absolutely loved this place. There is ample seating and they get you through the line pretty quickly. I see myself eating here at least once a month. Next trip I'll try the platter with rice. read more

I think they have taken the feedback from other reviews and made some improvements and I love to see it! This spot is now on my frequent lunch rotation. And I've even taken my husband and daughter to introduce them on separate occasions. The protein portion is heartier, and the flavor and texture of the chicken has improved drastically, and the gyro seems more fresh than on my first two visits. I've still yet to try the falafel since they are made to order, which is GREAT, but I'm always pressed for time. Since my last several visits have been exceptional, I'm going to find the time to wait for the falafel in the near future. Another note- the service here is ALWAYS friendly and fast, but today the gentlemen who helped us were so engaging and warm. One of them noticed my daughters soccer jersey and commented that he is from Germany. We had a nice little chat about him coming to the states. Made our visit seem so personalized and inviting. This is my first visit to Halal guys and it was perfect for a take-out option. There was not much rush when I went in and I was able to place the order right away. Their options are simple and relatively healthy. I got the falafal platter and the best part of it was that the falafals were fried fresh upon order - so no old soggy stock! The platter came along with salad, marinated pickle and basmati rice which was seasoned with turmeric. Overall, it was a perfect workday lunch! I usually visit the Richardson location....but it's sooooooooooo far away! this location isn't exactly much closer to me than the Richardson location, but it's in a direction and area that I'm in more frequently. I usually come at odd hours on the weekend so I haven't seen it during peak meal times, but it's always been empty with only 1 or 2 other people in the establishment besides the workers. I think cause it's in an area that's surrounded by office buildings. the staff and the food are always amazing. I have to say, the quality control on the all of the halal guy's locations are consistent. Granted....nothing like the experience of getting it off the cart in the streets of New York....but you know what to expect with the flavors and quality when you walk into a halal guy's. #fattypatty approved! before the halal guys became a franchise and started opening up locations around the country, I tried local hole in the wall joints that were good...but inconsistent. until they open the location that's even closer to me....i'll definitely be back to visit soon! read more

Whenever you have a craving for some really tasty Mediterranean food, find somewhere else to go. This food was not good and way overpriced. I had the Falafel platter and the falafel really needed some seasonings. The rice was tasteless and had I known that the platter was basically shredded iceberg lettuce and some tomatoes I would have gone somewhere else to get a salad. This was not at all what I expected, I ate less than half of it and threw the rest away. The pomegranate lemonade for $5 was a pure joke. I would give it one star but since they had outside seating two stars. There are too many other Mediterranean places in the area so I will never be back. read more

The food itself was classic halal guys. The service however was something else. My server didn't really make eye contact with me and was hard of hearing. My friend made a comment about how there seemed to be a lot of veggies in our other friend's combo platter and I guess her server took it to exception and decided to give her even more than my other friend. If it were me I would've said something or walked out the place. How rude can you get? The restaurant was also dirty and the table we picked that seemed the cleanest, had smudges on it. I've never tried Halal guys before but was super excited to see if all the hype is worth it. I got the Falafel platter, a Combo platter for my husband, extra white sauce(duhhh) and an order of fries. I had the combination chicken/gyro bowl and shared a hummus. I'd skip the hummus next time, it wasn't terrible but wasn't really great either. The pita was warm but not toasted; it was pretty soft. I did really enjoy my bowl though. I didn't think the meat was too salty or too oily on with the combination. The rice had a good flavor. I had white sauce but no hot sauce on my bowl; the taste was great, but I was expecting more of a tzaziki sauce than a mayo based sauce and the huge amount of sauce added to my bowl was probably a gazillion calories. So if I want to eat healthy, I need to be very sparing with it. I wouldn't say it's the best Mediterranean food around, but for a fast and not too pricey option it works. read more

It was ok. I've had HG bookmarked so long, I lost interest in going but after my first lunch plans fell through I drove by here and thought I'd finally give them a shot. I ordered the small platter(8.99) with chicken and gyro meat, lettuce, tomato, onion, light red and white sauce and added an order of falafel(1.50), which comes with 2. I'll say this, it's a good amount of food, I was famished and still didn't finish everything and though I asked for easy chicken and meat the guy was still generous so kudos to them on not being stingy. With that being said, everything was bland, fresh but bland. The chicken which i'm so glad I got a small amount of had quite a bit of gristle and fatty pieces, but the gyro meat was quite tasty and fresh. I don't normally shy away from ridiculously spicy foods so i'm not sure why I had them give me a meager strip of hot sauce, but the hot sauce was so bomb! Flavorful yet hot, the pieces of meat that the hot sauce was on were the best tasting pieces by far, I hate I didn't get more. The falafel was quite mediocre in taste and it was not even lukewarm , I wouldn't recommend it.
