This industrial looking pub has good food and an unusual selection of beers. Most of the latter are from breweries I never heard of. My hamburger "the haul" came without the cheese and the fries were too salty, thus the 3-star rating. Also, the order was late, for which the waitress apologized. Dry. Dry. Dry. Got the mac'n cheese which was supposed to be their specialty and it was not your creamy comfort food. Cheese hardly even mixed with the pasta. Awful! Also ordered tacos and they were dry. You had to ask for guacamole or sour cream which you desperately needed because it was so dry - then pay extra to make the tacos palatable. After walking around town we decided to stop in for lunch. They have indoor and outdoor seating which is nice. Its counter service so we grabbed a menu and sat to the side to decide what we wanted. Idk if it was all the walking but carbs sounded the most appealing at the moment. My bf and I decided to share the garlic parsley Parmesan fries ($5) and their 12" Jimmy Pesto pizza ($15). We also got our own Handmade Soda; orange rhubarb and blackberry cinnamon. Their handmade sodas are vinegar based which we both missed sooo we didn't care for those too much. I actually exchanged mine for a regular root beer and we both ended up just sharing that. The fries were...okay. The toppings just sat on top and fell off as you grabbed one to eat. The fries were pretty dry too. Definitely wouldn't order those again. Their pizza was great! So flavorful and those gems of roasted garlic really added to the flavor. Seriously, we ate that whole thing. It didn't stand a chance. Overall, good atmosphere, great pizza, the rest was just eh... I don't really Yelp places I didn't enjoy...but Yelp asked me to. Apparently they track my every move. We all agreed in our group that this place look good and chill. I however pointed out the rules on their site and in the restaurant on how to behave...ie order and move to the side. The digs are great, open and friendly. The staff a cheerful bunch of youngsters. The menu looked incredible but that's where it ended for me. I ordered off the top of special menu and they said they were out of that, then crossed it off the board. Not to hold up the order of things I ordered the second thing on the special menu, The Cuban. That's a pretty basic yet precise sandwich which they failed miserably. Ok the bread was good and that thin piece of ham had an ounce of flavor but the rest was a disaster. The pork was fatty, gray and zero flavor. It was like they boiled it in England and sent it over on a Grayhound bus. The mustard was that big seedy stuff and way to much of it and the pickle wasn't a pickle rather some dressed slices of raw zucchini. Francisco Ferlita rolled over and farted on this sandwich. Sorry too much? I needed a cold beer to wash this down but the selection left a bad aftertaste in my mouth. The others felt similar levels of disappointment. Oh the pulled pork sandwich came with a pickle so I know they were in the building. Beware of the specials, order the ciders and The Horny Goat is just around the corner. I would be here once or twice a week if this place was in my town!! From food quality to microbrews, and from ambience to service, this place rocks. AND they have a charming outdoor dining area with "sail" style sun breaks and misters. We loved the vegan pizza... you won't miss the cheese... because the sauce was tomato-y and tasty and the crust was delicious. My niece's pizza was also excellent as was the small side salad with balsamic vinaigrette, shredded carrots and beets. And my brother's burger was perfect: juicy, cooked just right in a puffy brioche. We tried 5 beers between the 6 of us: all winners. The IPA is moderately hoppy but I prefer that. The saison pleased my son who likes things on the hoppy side. Highly recommended. read more

Grants Pass is the next Portland, FOR REALZ! ...just kidding. But there are some great restaurants popping up here, and we now make the trek to GP more than we do to Ashland, primarily because there are options of deliciousness in a non-pretentious environment. The Haul is a "haulmark" (yes, i did) of excellence in GP. Hands down, 100%, the most interesting and arguably best beer spot in the Rogue Valley, featuring the excellent craft ales and lagers of Connor Fields Brewing. The food is oh-so-delicious, and quite reasonable in price! A must have is the shitake sandwich--perfectly cooked and tasty! The rosemary-garlic fries are worthy of a trip on their own... Tacos? Yip. Good stuff. Pickle plate? Top notch. Now, the beer. Exploratory in nature, lots of emphasis on the brewing styles of Belgium and Europe in general, with American nuance and hop profile. We love the Saison's--a sure bet if on tap. Recently tried the Rice Lager and it was amazing. If you are done with the mundane, go here. It's worth the drive!! read more

Come in here last night after driving 12 hours on pretty much no sleep. ( our hotel before was Hell see my other review) so I was a bit out of my head tired when we arrived here for dinner. The pizza was very good, and the customer service was fantastic! Great environment, good music, tattooed employees with style. It was the perfect night cap that we all needed. I highly suggest you coming and trying this place out. We were going to check out the Horny goat across the street ( another restaurant ) but there were a group of drunks yelling at people to come in and check it out. That was a turn off. Such a surprise ! Just moved to Grants Pass and last Sunday decided to go grab a bite. Being French, I'm pretty picky about food. Not a lot of places were open so we stumbled on The Haul. Wow!!!! Others might like the self service environment and hipster mood but just didn't fly with us. Beverages: 5 they have good craft beer and even had Old Rasputin from Lost Coast Brewery in Fort Bragg, CA. Food: terrible. I ordered the Cuban sandwich which was not anything remotely near a Cuban sandwich. My wife had the chicken Cesar salad. Lettuce was fresh but dressing was runny and the chicken appeared to be sliced lunch meat. Other: While many in this area support marijuana, I do not approve of a public restaurant having marijuana information booklets available right near the ordering counter for leisurely reading. We were not aware this restaurant supported that. Overall employee service was good but I don't see us returning. PS: Maybe we should have ordered a pizza. If you're a local, visitor, or even a passerby around Grants Pass, you have to try this place. My husband and I were visiting Grants Pass and loved this place so much we went there two nights in a row. First, the atmosphere is funky and cool. It does not matter if you're young or old! The beer selection features Oregon craft beers and my husband loved the choices. He found a few tasty brews that he had never seen elsewhere. The food was great. The pizza is delicious. We had both the pesto and the cheese pizzas. The crust was perfect and the toppings even better. We also tried the fries - yum. My husband tried the gnocchi and recommends it. But the best thing there...churros with salted caramel. To.die.for. If you're lucky you'll get to meet Sadie, the owner's daughter. She's charming and had enough personality to fill-up all of Grants Pass. read more

I was really excited to try this place out, mostly because it has an atmosphere that you don't really see that often in GP. A total bummer that I wasn't very impressed with the overall experience. The waitresses weren't very friendly, the line was too long for a late lunch on a Sunday, and the tables were wobbly and uncomfortable. I will say that their pizza dough is amazing and the ingredients are fresh and simple. Probably the best pizza I've had in town. The industrial decor is pretty rad, too. It looks like it will be a cool place to have a drink in the summer when they open up the rolling bay doors. May give it another shot, but I think I dig Climate City more. read more

Passing through Grants Pass on our way back to Reno, I asked the desk clerk at the Best Western (Panda, lovely girl) for suggestions and this was one of them. You basically walk up to the bar, place your order find your own table, and then they bring the food to you, which I personally like. I ordered some dumplings, Korean chicken wings, and a margarita pizza. All were very well done. I had their APA which was a solid brewski, although it was served in a tulip glass, so I probably only got about a 10 ounce beer after 1.5 inch head, but it was priced well. I was going to order a second beer, but you basically have to stand in the same line where you order food and there was just too many people ahead of me ordering food. I would probably have a separate register just for drink orders to speed things up for people that are just getting a second or third cocktail or beer. read more

I tried the food when they first opened and it wasn't bad. The veggie tacos were okay. We decided to go there for lunch. We were walking down the alley, and encountered the owner arguing with his landlord, who was complaining about how filthy it was inside, and wanting to know why the employees didn't know how to use the dumpster - there was food and trash three feet high outside the dumpster. We let it slide, until we saw who the cook was. When we parked, we walked past a man with gloves on smoking and spitting all over the place. He walked into the restaurant and proceeded to start cooking with the same gloves he had been smoking with and wiping his nose on. We were so disgusted we left. My stomach was queasy from thinking about the poor, unknowing diners who were being exposed to such a lack of cleanliness. I later found out from my neighbor who worked nearby how trashy the place and employees are. Apparently some repair men were overheard telling the owner that the repairs he wanted them to make were illegal, and the kitchen too dirty to work in. I usually shine on leaving bad reviews, but this place needs to be closed down. read more

The only reason this is 4 stars is how long the line was. They may need to rethink the walk up to the counter and order model. This place is hoppin! If you don't like that kind of thing then don't come on a Friday night. We didn't mind and we like the community feel. We shared a beautiful long wooden table with some men that were in fire camp school up in Glendale. I ordered the Blue Haze cocktail. This was pricey( 12.00) but oh so yummy! My husband had a beer on tap and it comes with a shot of their house made cold brew on the side. The pizza, we ordered was the Tasso and manchego cheese. This may absolutely have the best pizza I've had in Oregon. The saltiness of the Tasso was perfect and the pizza is wood fired with just the right amount of crispiness. I made reservations for a large group (15) and must have changed the number in our party about three times. The staff was patient, courteous, and cheerfully accommodating throughout the week. They had saved our party the long table in the main room, sat our early birds about 30 minutes early, and kindly oriented us to the go-up-and-order procedure. The entire experience was five star except that some of our party had mixed reviews for the actual food. Chicken artichoke pizzas were only half-topped with toppings (we all love crust but... we came for the good stuff) and the chicken was dry. The chicken alfredo pasta was a bit bland and not very rich in flavor. However the wings, chicken tacos, and Caesar salad were good! Great comments on the vegan nachos and specialty fries. Stopped over in Grant's Pass on a road trip, and this place was walking distance from our motel. Cool joint, great open-air design, big selection of beers on tap, and pretty good food. This place is popping! The vibe is awesome and it was so nice to hear live music again. The staff are friendly and super efficient. I ordered the margarita pizza, rosemary fries and a cherry almond soda. All I have to say is yummm to all of it. The pizza is a perfect thin crust cooked in a pizza oven to perfection. My rosemary fries were fresh cut and full of amazing flavor. I really like the homemade soda. This place gets crazy busy so get there early but even if you have to wait it's worth it. I wish they had more of a drink selection a lot of their drinks have apple cider vinegar in them I believe which I'm never a fan of. Great quality food I love their Pizza. Pretty sad to post a negative review these days. We ordered online, paid and went to pick up. We were traveling through town with a hungry bunch of kids and adults. After waiting at least 10 minutes in line, I was told my order was cancelled because they were too busy. No call or email. Although I could wait 20-25 minutes for a new order if I'd like. Which I didn't. So we went down the street to La Hacienda Mexican and had the best Al Pastor tacos we've ever had :) read more
